Chaos God Ideas

Ideas for a new Chaos God?

God of edgyness. 40k surely has enough of that to make a god out of it.

A god of madness, I believe there's enough crazy to birth one.

Right, those are nice ideas so erm, let's flesh 'em out? God of madness can maybe look like a giant mass of tentacles? or something HP Lovecraft-y.

All Chaos Gods are lovecraftian, that's not what makes them compelling, it's the folkloric elements.

Perhaps a figure lurking in the woods, for example, or behind the moon or in a shadow, representing the ever-present possibility of fear and paranoia.

>mass of tentacles

Lame and gay.

Struggle

God of endless resistance, persistence, survival and growth. And sometimes sheer stubborn idiocy.

I'm shit at ideas. lol

God of fear. Incredibly powerful but tend refrain from action by nature, unless forced to act.

Basically already Malal.

Malice.

what about a god of Pity? sounds like something I have yet to hear

There's already Malal? But damn that gives birth to a new train of thought : 'Good guy' gods.

Gork and Mork - gods of best demon killer ever

I wouldn´t consider pity to be 'good' per se, but you do have a point with the 'good' chaos gods. after all chaos is supposed to be both good and bad, yet when we think about chaos gods we usually bring negative traits

The horned rat.

Chaos god of having a personal ego, distrust for, fear of, desire to harm, cold disdain towards, ect, of everything that isn't itself. Seeks to subvert and destroy anything that isn't itself and works with works towards that as it's only mission. Hates anyone with empathy or who tries to see things from another's point of view.

>All Chaos Gods are lovecraftian
You're misusing that word.

Chaos God of....Adorableness?

what about a giant baby that opposes all change, like an anti-tzeentch that's sort of about stasis and against changes to the status quo?

Nurgle.

Chaos God.....Of Removing Kebab.

All the chaos gods already symbolize both positive and negative attributes. Different angles of the same basic drive or emotion.

He stands not only for excessive hedonism and snorting things through your urethra while blasting Van Halen.

He also stands for artistic ambition and the drive to perfection.

They are supposed to, but they don't.

I get what you are trying to say, but most of the time we only see the bad parts of it
I remember that youtube series about the Emperor getting a text-to-speech device had a surprisingly good explanation to 40k chaos in general: which was that if the inmaterium was fucked, it was because most sentient species had those kind of negative feelings. Still, you never really see the chaos gods in most kinds of media doing an equal part of good and bad

Zuvassin was a bit like that - the anti-Tzeentch, god of not as planned. Constantly striving to undo the machinations of the other gods of chaos, I always figured him as a sort of natural tendency for Chaos to turn upon itself thus maintaining a sort of balance of a sort.

Along with Necoho and Malal Chaos had a vague sort of tendency to keep itself in check, it's just that they still
caused misery and strife in the mortal realms to fulfil these anit-chaos aims of theirs.

God of pure random chaos madness seeing as chaotic nonsense is pretty comon in 40k it could work bassicaly he would so absolute irrationaly chaotic that not even tzeeth can predict his actions.

The great devourer

Takes the form of a great worm, is the god of devastation and the end of the cycle.

Where Nurgle is decay, this god thrives on the final destruction of all things and seeks only for the consumption of both real-space and the warp alike. This is not like the tyranids who eat all biomass on a planet and move on merely seeking to grow and sustain themselves: entire solar systems, planet, moon, and sun, are consumed and lost forever in the devourers wake. It has no hordes of demons and legions to fight but manifests itself as single avatars in its image of varying size and might depending on how weak the fiber between the warp and real-space is. Any of the four major gods have the power to slay the Devourer but none dare attempt so at the risk of that moment of weakness after the fight could cost them their place in the great game. And so the worm in waiting sits on the fringes of the game consuming all it can reach as relatively little as it may be, but as the wars spill blood for khorne, spread pain for Slaanesh, give plots for tzeentch, and stagnation for Nurgle, it is the final destruction that the devourer feeds off of and slowly it gathers an immense strength as the end of all things grows ever closer.

A God of Order, with angels and archangels instead of daemons and greater daemons.

As with the other Gods, this one will be Order taken to the extreme.
He is stagnation. He is the despair the lack of change provokes. He is perfect symmetry. He is uniformity.

He will bring order to an unruly system, but he will not allow it to make any progress.

boring and gay

>wounds or imperfections are considered impure
>losing a single feather can mean exile to an angel
I can dig it

enough of the imperium has fallen to chaos, this god would take too many

no u

So Nurgle?

I was going to say something like this, maybe a "justice is blind" component bringing swift retribution down even on his/her own followers that break the Order mold. Kind of like how Khorne doesnt care how blood is spilled.

If a farmer on some shit aggroworld hides a few space potatoes for his family, a squad of angels could come crashing out of the heavens and btfo his entire village.

Nurgle is apathetic and feeds on complacency and acceptance. So he is more like antithesis of Struggle.

Tzeentch with hope would be closer.

>giant mass of tentacles
>HP Lovecraft
stop this

The Great Devourer, manifesation of hunger and need

Well for a change their coud be one weak "chaos" god. Well, more like a warp god. If we ever leave the GRIMdrakness there should be a weak warp god that combines all the good things there are left in the galaxy, so obviously he's a weak one, but at least he should be there somewhere. Most of the times to fight with his angelic looking warpspawn to not get nommed and sometimes help outside.
>inb4 Tzeentch, god of hope
He's still an evil dickward and the warp contains all emotions, so let there be at least one nice thing

God of curiosity.
Crosses over with Greed and Envy based stuff.

>Prying scatty demons that exist to go around looking inside stuff ,tasting stuff, hearing stuff, smelling stuff, touching stuff, wearing stuff.
I know, it swims close to Tzeentch, but with a writhing obsessively compulsive need for exploration.

Chaos deity of unyielding Kindness in the face of all malice. Pink Lantern levels of good will and results, with a number of high-tier devotees but almost no low-ranking ones as they tend to die before they're kind enough to have earned invulnerability and the like to survive doing nice things for EVERYONE.

>behind the moon or in a shadow, representing the ever-present possibility of fear and paranoia.

I AM THE SHADOW ON THE MOON AT NIGHT
FILLING YOUR DREAMS TO THE BRIM WITH FRIGHT

Isn't Nurgle already kind of the chaos representation of stagnancy?

Still, I like the idea - perfect order and uniformity taken to its most logical, extreme end. Sounds close to what Emps would be if he ascended to true godhood.

God of fear. Short of a mix of Tzeentch, as it drives to changes, although sometimes cyclic, and Khorne, as it creates cycles of violence,

The God of Sloth. That's why we haven't heard much of him yet.

#BringBackMalal

Fantasy already has Law Gods that do this.

Partially, but Nurgle is also about rebirth. He's not a good guy by any means, but he believes through plaguey death life can regrow and become stronger*.

(*so long as it serves him)

Sounds too similar to the Tyranids.

>Fantasy already has Law Gods that do this.

Meant for Fantasy's Law Gods aren't extreme to the point of killing you for an injury, but the idea of total and absolute stagnation and symmetry is their motif. If they were to wipe out the Chaos Gods life would practically cease to exist.

Too much antisemitism.

God of Gods

Well I was thinking maybe do the 4th horseman of the whole 4 horsemen theme.

Slaanesh and tzeentch doesnt really fit the roles of death and conquest but maybe add those.

Chaos God of METAL BAWKES!

God of Faith. Represents belief in all things be they rational or irrational. Acts as justification for all actions, being judge, jury and executioner.

Followers of this god take more and more extreme actions, justifying their actions with mere rumors or suspicions. Truth becomes what you believe in rather than what's there.

Chaos God of Tyranny

Basically the fucked up Imperium finally births it's own God based on ignorance, fear, & subjugation

>Chaos God of Tyranny
That's gonna be Emps when the golden throne finally fails.

>OBEY!!

But we need a chaos god of apathy. Something born of all those people who realize that the galaxy is irredeemably fucked so there's no sense trying or even caring about anything anymore.

This thread is alive? This is my first thread that survived for more than a day.

it was a good thread

That's my thought too

God of Exhaustion/Tiredness. God hates work and wants to render all forms of work impossible by lowering the temperature of the universe to absolute zero. Extremely low temperature is his theme.

How about a Chaos God of Cringe ?

Congratulation!?!

This. Absolute Ordet is not a good thing. Every bone in a man's body would be counted by the Warp God of Order's envoys, every drop of blood, every brick from a tower. You get that bleak picture.

Adding to it

You may think that order is a good thing, but a warp god of order will sort the bodily tissues of an entire city by volume; he will part the salt from the oceans, the clouds from the sky, and the heat from the earth. It has no understanding of life, of the chaotic forces of ecology, psychology, sociology, or biology, and it will not stand for that kind of dis-order.

No

Yes,
Dark figure. Wearing a rotten cape. Skull/zombie like face with a smiling grin and tears coming from his eyes.
Under the cape he hides a mirror that reflects the world but in a bizzarro world madnes.
When moving his movements vibrates like the nurses from Silent Hill.

Nice idea
A small creature that looks like it is crouching or dugging.
on the head it has several hands that covers his face and only eyes can be seen.
Has several arms and legs like a spider. And on his hands are mouths that are talking and whispering fears or insecurity in the voices of relatives or own voice of the ones he encounters.

Interesting idea
But no idea how he should look like.

So God of jealous?

Lol, a catlike creature thats mouth goes over the stomach and retractable claws like a sloth?

No, its nurgle

Good idea
Could be some tyranids god

Isnt his some eldar or imperium god?

Sounds a little bit like nurgle + slaanesh
Maybe a chaos god for ogres? A butcher with a big mouth in his belly?

Looks like a sloth and his fur id full of mushrooms and dust.

No, too cringy

God of Envy and Jealous.

He is the god you worship for looting, scavenging and being the first before the others.

His looks is like a white snake with a vulture head, crow arms, legs and wings.
He wears an armor of feathers that shine silver black.
His favourite weapons are sickles or hamas for breaking open bodies or crests.

He is worshipped by the nightlords and raptors.
His demons are Gargoyles.
And maybe winged hyenas with vulture mouths, zombified vultures.

His blessings are always crow features, or claws to tear something open and grabbing loot.

The god of treachery, cruelty and spite.

the god of betraying someone for no reason other to see them be miserable.

the god of not forgetting to kick a puppy whilst on the way to destroying the world.

the god of being willing to lose everything, as long as everyone else loses even more.

the weakest of the Chaos Gods due to his denying nature. He is unable to retain a permanent roster of Daemons, because he'd betray them sooner or later. Probably sooner.

Basically the god of edge for better AND worse.

Chaos God of Justice and Guilt. Created when the Gods of Law were pulled into the realm of Chaos during the End Times. Obsessed with enforcing every single law in the multiverse, everywhere and everywhen. The worst part of her is that she rules an hellish bureaucracy, which is basicly the Imperium Legal Framework on Bylestim.

It's daemons are statuesque in nature, like Lady Justice and Foo Lions.

God of Spurdo

No dude the horned rat is Civilization. Many individuals working and living together for mutual benefit, be it constructive or detrimental with the only "support" you're getting is not having to survive alone. He is also all the negatives that come with it. Urban landscapes growing like cancer using everything up before consuming itself, filth from so many bodies all in one place, disease, inbreeding, crime. He is the Teeming Masses.
Sad that they ended up not putting him in 40k, he would of worked very well representing the Imperium's decrepit state.

Malalfags please kys

I wish they fleshed out Hashut more.

...

but that's Nurgle

Old Man Gary.

He's lost, confused, has entirely contradictory opinions to whatever you believe no matter how fringe. His sole weapon is a wallet full of coupons that have been expired for centuries. Each coupon is for something you own and love. Whether it be family or a treasued possession he has a coupon for it. He refuses to believe that they are not for sale and his coupons aren't expired and demands to see your manager. Even if you're at home by yourself you will find yourself trying not to sell whatever earthly possession you have for pennies on the dollar.

It is impossible to win, and he will own whatever he desires. The only traces of his passing is the faint scent of medicinal creams.

Has ome overlap with khorne but i can see it happening.

Chaos God of Annihilation

Born from the feelings of overwhelmed men who were faced with absurd forces of darkness and meaningless malice.

Annihilation wishes to erase everything, culminating with itself. To this end, all humans, xenos, demons, planets, stars, Chaos Gods, whatever, has to be annihilated.

It has no patience for games or manipulation, and it feels nothing. So, naturally, it would probably be btfo by the other four Chaos Gods so that the status quo can be kept. Might be spooky for a while though.

I just want Nekoho brought back as canon.

It's like you peered into my nightmares.

A Chaos God who shows no interest in the Great Game & only cares for the materium & his conquest.

Basically this one is a very minor chaos god.

The chaos god of determinism or something along those lines.
The idea that everything can be predicted as long as you have enough data and computing power.
The idea that we cannot change, it hates it's own nature as chaos is something that is non deterministic and seeks greater power so it can destroy the warp and create a true deterministic universe devoid of free will.
Tzeentch is it's greatest enemy due to how unpredictable he is.

Retail?
How about a chaos god of Retail? Or is that just khorne with added despair
