Cities, Towns and Villages Art Thread [Also Maps]

Can we get an art thread with images of cities, towns and villages?

General art or maps work, and feel free to include any towers, castles, dungeons or other structures that might help your fellow GMs/DMs out there!

I'll start!

Generic, clean port city.

Super cool, utterly pointless druid telescope tower!

Totally Not!Carthage

Mountain warrior monk fortress.

Abandoned desert Not!HelmsDeep

I love this. I once had an entire city based around an old watch tower. The tower had been fitted with all kinds of buildings jutting off from the sides and it was all kinds of ramshackle cozy!

Asian farming village.

Have some sort of mystical middle eastern metropolis.

City on a hill.

...

The underground city of D'Ni, an old favorite of mine.

Ragnarok Online was fun

...

Artist renditions of ancient cities are pretty good for inspiration.

Here's a possible wide shot.

Seeing this makes the Stronghold: Crusader soundtrack play in my head.

How would a port like this work when there is no main road to it which is used for the transport of goods inland.

Maybe the main road is right at the top-left corner we can't see?

Not him, but the only way to that level seems to be stairs. In any case, it could just be a place to restock. There's only one dock for huge cargo ships and the rest could be for local fishing vessels.

Citadel.

...

That is what you take away about how bad this is!?

Walled village.

There appears to be a ramp/road on the right side of the port area.

What about to the next level?

Guess they just break their backs.

And 2.

While not a town or city, this is one of my favourite architectural vistas, as simple as it is. Great for setting up any number of adventures.

I think I'm done. I know some of these didn't quite fit the OP, but fuck you, fight me.

I bet living in a motte and bailey would be pretty comfy

Anyone have any non-dwarf/drow underground city art? I have a dragonborn faction in my campaign that lives inside of a mountain and I need some inspiration for their city.

How did the Japanese do this?

Grorioussu Nippon Stealru?

????
It's basic earthwork.
Even the Germanic tribes know how to do this.

I've got this, it's about the closest I have to an underground city other than

...

...

Groriasu nippon shoveru, folded 1,000,000 times desu.

I don't know it's dwarf or drow, but you can be the judge of that.
