IGNORE THE FATPOSTER

On the spectrum of overweight to obese, where does 'fat' land?

Can you summarize your cyoa builds in one image?

I should finish my cyoa in the next week. When do you expect to finish yours?

...

I'm not even joking

...

...

Report them and move on.

...

I always tend to become a qt knight waifu when I can.

I'll probably get some work done Sunday, maybe Saturday night. POSSIBLY tonight but its unlikely.

Beautiful

...

me on the right

...

...

...

No. Because I immerse in the story and don't follow a specific fantasy every time.

...

>Chimera
I always thought multiheaded monsters were awesome, so Chimera for me (though Hydra was close, and Watcher looks cool).

>Mutation
I'm picturing something like sharp teeth, cats eyes, scaly skin on one arm while the other has goat pelt with growths of horns jutting out of the knuckles. Not sure if it'd put me into Daredevil tier senses but it should be pretty good.

>Hunter
My super sense should make me an toppest tier hunter, and spending most of my time in the wilds means my freakish appearance is less of a problem.

>Lucy
Probably doesn't care too much about how I look, just that I'm special like her. Good for keeping me from going too feral and also cute.

>Grand Joust
Another means of keeping myself in touch with civilization at least a little. I'm probably not the strangest thing here and it'd be a good test of power for my partner and I.

>Kirin
I wanted a flying mount or an intelligent beast. I found both.
>Strong bond
The good thing about an intelligent beast is that it's like a companion by itself.
>Courier
Plus, we can make something on the side with weather manipulation.
hmm, none of these companions seem really appealing to me. So I guess I'll take Gideon.
>new age of piracy

'Search the future' is the most appealing to me.
While I may never win a big lottery or at roulette I, I can still win a bunch of lesser prizes with scratch cards or see which slot machines are ready to pay out since me deciding to buy a card won't magically alter the order they are in the box.

...

>Dragon Turtle
Chill, though as hell, wise, private moving island.

>Undersea Resident
Hell, why not I'm going to be at sea virtually at all times so might as well.
I max speed since power and toughness are already taken care of by the bond.

>Other
Salvager. Plenty of merchant wrecks at the bottom of the sea I can sell back to their owners or whomever.

>Gideon & Leenya
Gideon keeps an ear out for recent salvage opportunities and later sells the booty.

Leenya helps locate the wrecks at sea while I do the heavy lifting.

>New Age of Piracy
Yay, more guaranteed work.

Search the Future. Shaping the Past is basically dying so my copy can live, Programming the Present seems like a good way to die, and Anchoring this Moment is basically betting that I can do in one year what a lifetime of everything else can do. So I'll pick the Oracular power. Like points out, you can win a lot of money with events that are fixed but unknown, and you can also gather all kinds of interesting information. Maybe with enough time I can even figure out how to find an ideal future for myself, or at least avoid bad endings.

This one's a bit more complex.

...

...

...

Pretty good user, I always dig people making builds that take advantage of niches like this

...

Whenever I get horny enough to do it.

update when

So with writing you have to write it to cast the spell? You can't write it down and then 'activate' the spell from that at a later date?

Let me post Sartre.jpg

Kidding, I don't see why you couldn't write write scroll partially and then finish it later. If you feel like it makes it too powerful compared to others and not just in "this is PERFECT method for me!", then try to think drawbacks.

There's of course always the danger that if you in hurry try to finish the spell before dragon eats you, you finish it incorrectly. Also no matter how carefully you store the scroll, inks fade over time and of course a paper crease is catastrophic.

Maybe a powerful spells would eventually destroy the paper due to holding lots of power even if left incomplete.

Spacial Magic

Gestures (3, 2)

Power Source: Stamina (4, 2)
Limiters: Research (4, 3), Implement - Ring (4, 4)

Modifiers: Ritual

Maximum power of 8, and a maximum control of 6. That means adepts can get to the point where they can do 5-control rituals, while even apprentices can teleport in an emergency.

does anyone know the name of the artist?
love this style

You know, i just realized you can min-max the fuck out of Power Source. Mana Pool, Stamina, Essence Field, and Food all have their costs based on max level. If you take all four, then you can use spells of +2 power for close to free - 1/400th of your mana pool and essence, plus 10 calories and less than a minute of working out. You can also use spells of +1 power for almost completely free - less than a second of working out, less than a calorie, and less than a tenth of a percent of your pool. Plus you have the option of just fucking everything up and casting a max power spell at +4.

Is there any reason not to take all four?

I was hoping to combine Writing with Verbal to get the classic magical reading out of a spellbook thing going on.

>School: Nature
Ability at max level to grow plants with wonderous effects is pretty good. There's also a lot you can do with plant manipulation and if you want money, you can pretend to be a farmer.

>Casting Method: Reagents
>Extra Casting Method: Writing
>Total 4 Power 3 Control
Reagents are 'crafted' by drawing runes/pentagrams around a seed planted in fertile earth in a place of power. This empowers the seed and allows the caster to manipulate and force it to grow over period of hour into a reagent or potion.

>Power Source: Leylines [+1 Power]
Only places where reagents can be produced.
>Power Source: Food [+1 Power]
Many fruits have high amount of calories and you can probably create plants that produce really calorie dense fruits. Even if you don't have access to your fruits, high calorie food is super easy to get.

>Limiters: Implement [+1 Either]
Staff grown from a seed and manipulated into shape by each caster's own power.

>Modifiers: Practice [-1 Control first dozen times, +1 Control after hundreds of times]
This is good buff to weak spells but nerf to high powered spells. Need to practice those too anyway, I guess.

>Extra Magic: Body Empowering [-1 Power]
Slowly gain grow animal-like features, plants grow from body and replace body parts while preserving functionality.

>Enchantments: Abstract Magic [-1 Power or Control]
Casters are part of the nature and can survive anywhere plant or animal life can. Nothing plant or animal based will harm them willingly.

>Boons: Mage Tower [-1 Control] [+1 Control while in home]
It's my magic hut that will serve as the school.

>END: 5 Power 2 Control
>-1 Control first dozen times the spell is cast
>+1 Control after several hundred casts
>+1 Control when in somewhere you have lived over year
>-2 Control if rushing the Writing, +1 for Writing normally, +2 for careful/complex writing.
So 5 Power 5 Control after a some practice, when inside home and taking time to write.

If you take power sources do you need access to all of them or just one to cast a spell?

All. It's a permanent modification to your magic, not a temporary thing.

I guess not. Technically that would make max power level spells really annoying to cast but your actual power level will be so high that there's never a reason to cast at it.

Extra Casting Requirement allows you to combine methods but it also gives Chant + Writing as an example that it requires chanting while writing.

Hmm, I guess I would personally go that the magic can be cast by just reading the scroll you have written before hand but during writing you must write and chant the spell backwards to trap it into the paper.

Hopefully never. Worm cyoas were a mistake.

Yeah, that's the point. You'd never casts max power spell unless you were completely desperate. Hell, most spells don't go that high - Spacial is the only one that goes to 8 power spells, and that's just for permanency.

is someone planing to do a monster hunter cyoa?

Not sure of the actual name, but I got all of the art from here.

bloodbrothersgame.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_Brothers_Wiki

Its a now defunct mobile game that I stumbled on looking for pictures a while back now. I dig the art style too, especially for monsters and knights, though some of the humanoids are a little too bobbleheady for me.

No

So were you, but we keep you around.

What update do you want, mate? The only people who need an update are the ones who split off and did their own thread, and they just want one that follows their crazy rules.

>Nature

>Food
>Wild Magic + Implement
>Time (when it's time to eat) + Practice
>Body Empowering

Burn calories and ehance your body to create delicious food (veggies, berries, etc.) which you then eat to cast more magic.

What a blissful world. Now if only I could create animals too. Yummy.

Focusing largely on healing, my school is fueled by words written with (and onto) special reagents, with the added benefit of being able to 'store' them for use on a later date. I'm not sure if the power drain activates when you create the reactive spell or when you activate it, but we can work around either. Due to our nature as healers, I thought it would be prudent to have a form of Anti-Magic, in order to undo harm caused by the other five schools. In times of emergency, we can substitute the reagents for verbal components, though one still needs to write on something in order to call forth the magic. My school is further limited by our need to research spells, though I figure healing will be popular enough that I will have no shortage of disciples. In addition, one needs a magical implement to focus their energies with, though the form is left to the discretion of the individual user.

I, personally, go with a Grimoire to act as a repository for all of our combined research and to aid in teaching new healers. While my stats may be low at 4 and 3, we make up for them with modifiers and power shift. A full page of reagent written text created by a novice would be 2/2, enough to heal most injuries. With the use of full minute cast times or expensive reagents, even Novices could provide mental healing. My Adepts could regrow limbs, or my powerful Adepts/Masters could use powerful reagents to get level 5 healing.

Overall my school is versatile, though it is limited by drawing on three separate energy reserves in a person. Allowing us to heal anywhere, but with great personal cost.

...

Practicers of this school have really fucking low Control, that raises over time.
Practice means that practicers want to repeat the spells they cast multiple times, meaning that they need plenty of space for their gardens.
They also want to live somewhere where they are almost guaranteed to not have to move for that sweet basically free Control bonus after living somewhere for year.

Since they can easily grow their own food and basically don't need to care about dangers of wilderness after a while, most of them tend to live away from cities, either squatting in some cave or in small communes.

The Mage Tower will serve as the school and housing, it will be located in wilderness but there will be actual road leading to it so that students can actually reach it.

I encourage my students who leave to give the magic test to anyone who wants to try it and send those that succeed to the tower. Students will spend year living/working/studying nonmagical stuff to allow the Control bonus to kick in before they start to learn how to use magic.

Making one based on that exploit of mine.

School of Magic: Energy. Extremely powerful, extremely versatile.

Casting Method: Verbal. Classic D&D magic, using specific incantations and gestures. Unfortunately you have to start with Verbal to get this to work.

Power Source: All four of Mana Pool, Stamina, Essence Field, and Food. Gets us to 6 power, enough that I'll always be able to cast below maximum.

Limiters: Research, Implement, Extra Casing Requirement (Gestures). Let's go with a magic staff, like a wizard should use. Bumps power to 7 with a max of 9, and control up to 4, and fits the D&D theme more.

Modifiers: Ritual. It means we can now do Control 5 spells, and our Power is now a max of 11, and still remains at 6 if we do it on the fly. So masters can cast nearly cost-free instant spells of power 4.

Enchantments: Abstract Magic. An immense boost to flexibility. We still have power to burn, and now we can do things like cast flight spells, enhancement spells, and even use other forms of energy like kinetic.

So that means our final max power is 10/9/8, 5/4/3 for casting on the fly (single round versus minute ritual), which means even an apprentice can use a "safe" explosion spell. And, of course, a master like me can cast "safe" tactical nuclear spells.

>Restoration
>Verbal
>Stamina
>Extra Casting Requirement (Gestures)
>Cooperative, Practice

Healing through song and dance. We aidoru now.

My counter magic build. Rouge mages can be a huge thing in this world.

>Illusion
Because it's probably the most utilitarian. You can still do stuff with it even if you aren't actively pursuing rouge mages like create an illusion of hot succubus for your pleasure.

>Concentration
For that silent, no detect casting.

>Research and Practice
Just to bump up the power. Also to keep skills fresh and all. Helps against lethargy. If you're gonna combat mages, you need to be at the top of your game.

>Anti-magic
Bread and butter

At my most ideal conditions, I get 1 power and 6 control.

>Implement
To bump up control. My tools will be crafted lenses and prisms.

>Power shift
To be able to shift around stuff to get what I need for the right amount of countermagic. I basically have 6 points to shift around at ideal conditions.

I will train others to be sort of a police against magic, since I'm not the only mage in this scenario. Since my casting mode is very discreet, we can thwart magic users while acting like a normal civilians. And in a direct fight, we can spam our magic continuously since we don't have limiters and all. It might not be damaging but it's the illusion tree, be creative. Designate your opponent's allies as yourself in an illusion, have them attack each other. Or set them on fire, it still hurts like a real one. The drawback is that you need extensive amounts of training and tools but hey, it's just like being a cop.

>1 power anti-magic doing anything to any mage worth their salt

better read that effect again boy

Small problem with your plan is that your students will be at -1 Power.
Might make practicing hard since they can't use magic at all unless they are shifting away from Control.

After reading the last thread, I really want some bizarre cute girl Symbiote Waifu CYOA thing.

I don't entirely understand what I want, the ideas haven't come together much yet, but something like what I just said.

Would you cry if I broke your shield?

I feel like his build could work anyway, just drop the antimagic and focus on using Illusions to imprison the opponent. For Illusionists, Power only affects the area and allows entering dreams so Control is more important anyway.

Also, he can use Power Shift to switch to Power 6/Control 0 if he needs to. It won't be be easy to spot but technically it's continent sized sphere that prevents magic from working.

Damnit,
*will be easy to spot

They can trade control for power because of power shift.

Anti-magic is for dispelling stuff. Since my order is all about combatting rouge mages, say if one dipshit creates a perma wormhole, we can do something about that. We can still fight other mages head on using illusions though. Fighting a writing and gesture mage? Suddenly it's really cold for them to concentrate. Fighting a voice based one? It's now really really loud. Also, we can still use guns and all so there's also that, not a complete reliance on magic.

Do not bully the waifu knights.

A perma wormhole would need 8 power so your order actually would be at that mage's mercy since you you can only muster up 7 power for your anti magic at most.

I'm going to bully them all back to the kitchen.

chan.sankakucomplex.com/post/show/4705343

This is about how every build that involves combat will end up.

Gay

Well it's not perfect, no build is. At that point, we say screw it and netflix and chill with our waifu illusions.

what about a slave coya. choose the work you do, your master, stuff like that.

It's time to indoctrinate you pansies into user ANONINGTON'S SCHOOL OF MUSCLEWIZARDRY
>School: Energy
What other choice is there?
Casting method: Gestures (3,2)
All spells are cast by POSING FABULOUSLY
>Power Sources: Food, Stamina (5,2)
All spells are generated by SHEER MANLY POWER.
>Limiters: Narrow Power, implement (5,4)
No spell effects can be generated outside of touch range.
Musclewizard spells mainly focus on enhancing the user's body, but other spells are possible, but more difficult to use. Example: If you want to cast fireball, you better be willing to explode with it, or you better be able to physically launch the spell yourself. (More powerful spells are notably heavier than weaker spells)
Common spell delivery methods include: punting, throwing, bowling, trebuchet, and fist.

Also, musclewizards need a tattoo on their body that has a design that is significant to the musclewizard himself. For higher level casting, the tattoo needs to cover a large surface area on their back, and must have precious materials embedded in the ink.
>Enchantments: Anti-magic (5,3)
A musclewizard who can't deflect spells with just his pects isn't worth his salt.
>Boons: None
>Extra Magic: Body Empowering (4,3)
Musclewizard are by definition, strong. Even when not using magical enhancements, musclewizards tend to be notably stronger and quicker than the average human.

Who will join me in my quest to punch the world into better shape

Would be very interesting, we have none of these. Besides, you know ... the thing Tok did.

...

Let's imagine someone was making something roughly along those lines. Without being overly lewd, what sorts of masters would you want to choose from, or interact with in another character context?

COUNT ME IN SENPAI

well, a few of the options would be lewd, since some of the options would be overtly sexual in nature. part of a harem, a personal escort for a rich person, etc. But others would be house servant, others would be farming like a serf, others would be skilled labor and you happen to be indentured/purchased due to how your society works.

You could choose it being based on a debt, so in X years you can just walk away, or you can choose it to be a relationship with the person, or very impersonal as part of a plantation.

Idk, it just crossed my mind as an idea.

Hell yeah! Gotta get ripped for when we implement White Sharia and take some sheila war brides like this lass .

By writing or illustrating the desired scenario in detail, a user of Somnemancy can design the dreams of themselves and others, subliminally affecting their thoughts and beliefs through the dream.
With Reactive spells, you can set the spell to trigger when the target goes to sleep, instead of hoping they're already asleep when you perform the spell.
Used on others, this can change a person's opinion on a subject, or compel them towards a certain behavior (eg. make them want to ride a bike by giving them a dream about riding a bike).
By using subliminal effects on their own dreams, users can implement self-improvement. Compel themselves to live more healthy lives, or eliminate substance addictions, for example.

Are you sure about the calories under food requirement? As is, it takes 4,000,000 calories to cast a single max power spell. That's over a thousand pounds of fat for a single spell, so you effectively can't cast them at all. Even the next tier down is about fifty pounds, so a few of those and you're done casting for months.

You can't be this ignorant, can you?

Ok, Captain Murica - in the real world, a calorie is 1/1000th of the thing your food packaging labels as a Calorie. Calories with a capital C are called kilocalories everywhere else. For some reason Murica is just dumb as fuck and omits that distinction on food labeling.
