Tyranid Hive Fleet Creation Thread

Since the foo- I mean humans have so many of these types of thread, it makes sense we should have one. Roll 1d100 for our progenitor.

Rolling

Fuck

Rolled 66 (1d100)

Rolling

It seems we are a splinter fleet of Hive a Fleet Dagon! Roll 1d10 for how big we are.

Rolled 6 (1d10)

We seem to be of average size. Roll 1d10 for our classification.

Rolled 10 (1d10)

Hoping for nano-fungal.

We are classified as a full Hive Fleet, on the same level as Kraken or Behemoth! Roll 1d100 for our goals.

Rolled 29 (1d100)

>Hoping for a galactic-sized burp that births another galaxy

Our goal is to spread and Devour any kind of populated planet we find. So just like almost every other fleet then. Roll another 1d100 for our strategic tendencies.

Rolled 32 (1d100)

Boooooooring. needs a reroll

Ok then. Using that roll, our goal is to join up with an even larger fleet, to create a ludicrously large one.

Rolled 35 (1d100)

Snowball 2: Snowball harder.

Our strategic tendency is to DROWN THE ENEMY WITH GAUNTS! Roll a d10 for common bio morphs.

Checks out with our stated goals...

Rolled 7 (1d10)

That's....moderately better.

Rolled 4 (1d10)

We're just turning into the tyranid equivalent of a MtG goblin deck, aren't we?

rolled 1 (1d10) for biomorphs

Dice+1d100

If the goblins vomited white-hot acid all over their victims, yes

Rolling

dice+1d10 goes in the Options field, fellas.

>white-hot acid
Acid isn't hot itself, though it does generate an exothermic reaction on contact with other materials.

Back! I'll use cause it's the highest. We have a toughened carapace. So not only do we have a shit ton of units, we have a shit ton of units that are heavily armoured! Roll a d100 for any specialised creature we have.

Rolled 55 (1d100)

We have an undetectable stalker, a la Deathleaper or the Predator! Roll one last d100 for who we dine upon most often.

It was bio-plasma, I was trying to simplify it for humor, I don't know...

Rolled 79 (1d100)

>hoping for chipmunks

We feast upon Mushroom Pie (known to prey as Orks) often. Aaaaand that's all! To sum it up, we have a large fleet descended from Dagon that has the goals to join with all the larger fleets, and has an absurd amount of gaunts with Hardened Carapaces. We also have a specialised assassin creature, and regularly attack Ork WAAAGH!'s.

gonna be honest, it might just be the lackluster creation table, but this fleet is pretty boring
I'm a little bummed we didn't go with the first roll of bio-plasma, I liked the idea of swarming big targets with highly unstable gaunts that then explode in showers of plasma

We can always switch if everyone agrees.

Yeah, those are quite boring tables.

Too much work for something that could have taken 2 seconds of just making shit up. Probably would have gotten more interesting results too.

its really hard to have nids with a personality in their style, it has bee done though
pic related: its hive fleet lobster

Let me guess...
Hive Fleet Kraken,
Monstrous Horde,
Toughened Carapace,
Unkillable Beast

And Deathwatch has special power-weapons for dealing with the menace (pic related)

the deathwatch will MAKE THEM SUPPER

Okay, making an argument for bio-plasma:
this fleet has been fighting heavily armored enemies for quite some time, and while other fleets have evolved large units to crack open armored targets, this fleet has gone down another evolutionary path: birthing huge numbers of termagaunts equipped with bio-plasma vomit. Though not nearly as powerful as that used by Carnifexes, dozens of gaunts will swarm all over their targets, applying the equivalent of plasma cutting torches to pierce through the armor.
This "death by a thousand cuts" has proved viciously effective, but with a significant drawback: the unstable nature of such a miniaturized mechanism results in the termagaunts being highly volatile: each gaunt killed has a chance to explode in a shower of white-hot plasma. A lucky strike from an enemy could result in a huge chain-reaction of combusted gaunts.
To combat this possibility, the Fleet uses a number of powerful stealth units to subvert the enemy's defenses, allowing the gaunts to close the distance before being killed.

Ok then, if nobody else objects, our unique bio-morph is every unit can vomit up bioplasma! Anything else that could be better?

I meant only our Termagants can vomit up bio-plasma. My bad.

Why would anyone object to barfing plasmagants?
That can also be turned into walking bombs?

I have no idea, just gotta say it in case anyone does. So, anything else that needs changing, or are we golden?

How would this affect tervigons, considering they're now carrying a whole bunch of fetal unstable bioplasma bullshit?

They could be seen a lot more often on he battlefield, and be considered more disposable.

Why not hormagaunts and gargoyles as well?

Possibly. Would it be an idea to have special Tervigons which also shit out Hormagaunts and Gargoyles?

That's be neat.

The Hormagon and Gargogon?

Kek, imagine a winged tervigon that mid-air spawns gargoyles

Maybe we can work on making the tables more interesting? Integrate Genestealer cults more fully as well?

Someone could go on 1d4chan to modify them. Any suggestions?

If we take plasma sploders, then we should probably drop toughened carapace no?

Unless we want to interpret that as spikey carapace for Frag Nids

Orks eh?

Hmmm... It seems we have unwittingly made rivals to the Strayt Shootas. Interesting.

The explosive acid gaunts are a natural evolutionary adaptation to the Strayt Shootas. Melts salvaged Tau tech, and prevents them from getting trophies as easily.

Fits perfectly. So now, maybe it would be a good idea to come up with a name for this fleet. Any ideas?

>Strayt Shootas

New thread when

Also, they still have the Chimeras. Being a Shoota is suffering

New thread soon.

New thread now

>suffering
>getting to fight two different and varied enemies all the time
>one is cold and calculating, one a mindless endless hunger
>getting to beat on a young, naive race for all their sweet kit
>suffering

Hive Fleet Manticore?

That could work. Anyone have any others?

Maybe Hive Fleet Catoblepas? Something relating to toxins or poison. Jormugandr is also an option in that vein.

Hive fleet Mob Vomit
Hive fleet Baneling
Hive fleet Sorority Rave

Jormungandr's taken. I think we should go with Manticore.

Hive fleet Orm maybe.

anyone else think this Hive Fleet aimed directly for a segmentum with a large ork population and necessitated SERIOUS behavioural evolution among the local orks?

I like Catoblepas myself

'ow's dis fer a timeline?

Mother of God

bumpin for da HIVE

bump

Depends how cunnin the Orks in question are. If there are enough of them they might just try to brute force it, though if they're smart enough they'll just pour so much Dakka into the Nids they don't even reach plasma range
