RIP Italeri tank commander. Dropped through my deck. He never gave a damn until the very end.
Ryan Howard
Because someone said Team Yankee was a game about armored warfare and large mechanized units.
a small Airborne Company with heavy support sounded like a fantastic idea.
Colton Jenkins
Awesome. Just dudes and BMDs? Did you you make up a formation diagram for them?
Hudson White
I'm using the BMDs as BMP 1s and 2s and just running them currently as vanilla mech, but we'll see what comes with Red Bear.
The current support will be a battery of Nonas and some Hinds and SU-25s, so everything will be either airlanded or aircraft.
Sebastian Cook
Good deal! It looks awesome. Unfortunately Red Thunder won't be adding airborne. Not sure if there is an airborne equivalent for the Shturm or BTR-60
Dylan Lewis
>BMDs >Insert *CHEERS* here
How I wish we got those. And T-80s. And ERA. And Uragans.
Ian Howard
It's adding the Afghansty again.
Caleb Jones
>It's adding the Afghansty again Maybe this time they'll have even learned how to stab people properly.
Matthew Edwards
Is this any different than what we have now?
Jordan Rivera
You can field more CHEERS troops like T-64 formation with them.
Daniel Hall
What manufacturer would you guys recommend for Sherman Crabs? I know there's a few companies that make them, but I don't know how the quality varies.
Juan Bailey
Mostly just interested in the veteran of new lists and if I can make more expensive and more elite units.
but the Soviets never made anything that remotely approached NATO user.
Henry Thompson
user, I was there, in Arstootsker, in the mud bottem trenches. Them faggots didn't have ERA, other than one tank within binoc sight to make us think it was special. They used mild steel AP shot, and couldn't aim their way at a big bastard barn if given a neon sign. Fuckin sovietaboos. Your tank is 230mm RHA too, Phil said so.
Brayden Bennett
Those look great.
Jack Kelly
Is it just me or is every ANZAC list Cheers'd to fuck and for more powerful than it should be?
Dylan Wilson
The ANZACs aren't out yet.
Jacob Mitchell
Talking about the WW2 AUS/NZ lists and Vietnam.
Austin Parker
ANZAC divisions were the only divisions constantly in frontline actions in the mediterranean. No other divisions saw that much action.
Kayden Nelson
Australian ubermenschen.

The developers are from New Zealand.
There might be some favoritism and national pride bleeding through into the rules.

I'd say the number of btfo undeadable Abrams dotting the bombed out ruin of you country tell a different story.
Go ahead, spend all your IMF relief money on guns instead of food - we'll be waiting for you.

Jace Long
Painting 15mm infantry is suffering.
Juan Thomas
> Might
Yeah just a little bit.
I can't blame them though. Looking forward to the TY forces, should be quite humorous when range rovers are blowing up T-80's.
Christopher Brooks
How are ANZAC lists more powerful than any other commonwealth list? Usually they're just standard Commonwealth lists with usually less equipment and different training?
Gavin Nguyen
Yes it is. I hated everything after painting these fuckers. I still do, but at least now I have pretty models to hate it with.
...Though I have 100 more to paint before they're ALL done (this 152 was just the core), and ideally I'd have those done in time for a gaming meetup with an old college friend at the start of next month. I fear I may attempt to challenge myself again. Second wave would be another airlanding platoon, spare infantrymen, 2 more 3" mortars, 4 more 6pdrs, and whatever of my airborne recce I can get assembled and ready to paint by then.
Jordan Butler
I'm just painting regular British rifles right now. But getting each individual Enfield/Sten/Bren painted is my new personal hell.
Christian Moore
My hell was the socks. I'd get a full platoon painted, be ready to move on to the next one... And realize I didn't paint ANY of the socks. For all 28-36 guys in the painting batch.
Juan Hughes
Are you painting them in batches by color? Once I get to detailing I usually do all the skin and wood in beige brown, then use a dark flesh on the skin followed by all the gunmetal parts.
Ayden Ward
Painting uniform, flesh, brown for rifles, gunmetal for bren/stens, green on helmets and vickers/PIATs. Have black and brown washes but haven't decided which to use. I'll never finish either way.
Blake Taylor
I use a brown wash on my infantry. You can do it. Break your guys up into smaller groups if you feel fatigued. You'll feel accomplished once you start to see guys 100% done
Jacob Collins
Anyone have a british 5.5" gun, and able to measure how tall it is? Trying to plan out army transport at the moment and need to know.
Connor Davis
>socks
Jaxson Edwards
This bit. Right above the boot, the socks are visible. Quite visible. Yet I forgot them every single time.
Daniel Robinson
Those are gaiters, also colloquially (but inaccurately) known as puttees.
What's wrong with painting 15mm infantry? They're my favourite scale and model type to paint. Much quicker and easier than the 15mm Cavalry and 40k stuff I'm also working on.
Wyatt Price
Well, I got that wrong, thought they were socks but they're something I didn't even know was a thing.
Chase Clark
It probably helps that I don't have a single decent brush.
Jace Lewis
So, since I am likely meeting up with some friends on the 1st-4th of July, I need to get some modeling and painting done beforehand. Currently, that means the following: >Airlanding engineer platoon: 32 men. Paint. >6pdrs (on order): 16 men, 4 guns. Assemble, Paint. >3" mortars (on order): 6 men, 2 guns. Assemble, Paint. >Locusts: 4 tanks. Convert, Paint. >White Scout Cars: 2 cars. Convert 1, Paint both. >Dingoes: 2 scout cars. Convert, Paint. >Airborne Universal carriers (on order): 6 UCs. Assemble, Convert, Paint. Got about two and a half weeks to do it all in. Like when I did the main batch of my airlanding, I'll post pics as I get things finished. Should be able to finish as long as the models on order arrive in time.
John Gonzalez
Might as well bump with a pic of the starting group.
Jace Williams
If you could get one thing made in plastic, no matter how economically viable, what would it be?
Personally, I'd go with Tetrarchs. The maximum 18 doesn't even break 1000, and they're $13 each.
Josiah Hughes
Yes please.
Kevin Martin
Just found out I'm getting a bonus £5,400 in july. God damn I love my job. BTR-60 maxed out company planned. Have they included rules for USSR BTR Infantry companies yet because I plan to flood the table with 6 wheel egg cartons and AK-74s
Jack Peterson
SU-76s...
Levi White
Stop buying bad brushes
Chase Bennett
Does anyone have any recommendations for decent brushes for 15mm that won't break the bank?
Evan Howard
total cost of ownership; windsor & newton series 7 A single brush lasts me years(!) and I have painted hundreds of 15mm figures with that one single brush.
Kayden Ward
price actually isn't too bad. What size do you use?
Colton Hall
I'd like a raiding group revamp. LRDG patrols in pure plastic. And SAS jeeps too. then i remember the shit infantry and i get sad
Xavier Carter
Hey /fowg/ I've picked up bmps and i was wondering if you warpac players got an idea as to how i should set up my bmps and units
Brandon Campbell
If you're taking artillery you'll need one BMP1 for the Observer.
Then as Russians you'll take the rest as BMP2 for the konkurs spam. East Germans take a HQ BMP1 and a minimum sized BMP1 unit then take huge second unit with as many BMP2s as they can afford.
Owen Cook
Various armored cars. M8/M20 dual kit Sd.Kfz. 221/222/223 (PSC has us covered for the 8-rads, but the 4-rads are missing, aside from a soft Zvezda 222) All the things the british used, or at least the main ones (Humber, Daimler, Marmon Herrington, Staghound, Dingos) M3 White Scout Car
Hudson Jenkins
I'm a bit hesitant to use artillery because i heard the skill is trash also i picked up the zevzda carnations or whatever they are called and they look kinda trash. And with the red guards having a +5 assault i don't think I'm going to be able to dislodge filthy western infantry at all. at the very least I'm waiting for red thunder to help fix some of those fears. I'm not happy that the t-55 will not be in the army list. That reminds me did we get the leaks in, I've been away for a bit
Carson Garcia
No T-55 for Russians certainly is a bit strange, I'd assumed the reason they shafted the East Germans out of the Bastion was to give them to the Russians.
Jeremiah Williams
I'm almost done with these infantry... should I drybrush highlights before the wash or after the wash?
Dominic Gray
I do it afterwards, but doing it before lets the highlights be a bit more muted. I suppose it Depends on the level of contrast between the highlight and the base.
Mason Brooks
TOO fucking long (2018-19?)
they better make it so you can possibly play 1000pt battles in a game scaled to 100 pts per match.
all hail the Glory that is Kursk!
Mason White
How long until Burma?
MW Japan vs MW British
I love every theater where you are not forced to play X vs Germany.
Landon Wright
If it does decide to happen it will be a card
Aiden Stewart
My body is ready.
Robert Collins
Locusts have had their stuff added. Stowage, smoke launchers, and a Littlejohn for the platoon leader (who also needed a new hatch made because I lost the metal original). The smoke launchers and littlejohn were a pain, since they're about the size of an infantry rifle and I had to carve the damn things from plasticard.
Blake Gray
so for EW and LW do we still use V3 in the meantime?
Jordan Young
Do whatever you want. You bought the books. If you wanna stick with V3 fine. But do yourself a favour and try V4.
Connor Harris
There's stuff to use V4 but I'd wait it out for now.
Jack Martinez
There's a conversion to use EW and LW with V4. There's some points balance issues though, since the edition change resulted in a LOT of changes in effectiveness. Medium mortars are underpriced as hell, heavy arty is overpriced, and airplanes are either junk with noguns or gods of the battlefield with cannnons of destruction. And that's just the obvious ones.
Anthony Peterson
...
Hunter Ramirez
Considering they stopped responding entirely to questions about that, and it's a year since it was coming out "soon", never.
Chase Morgan
FoW v4 is broken. It killed my community. Nobody plays any more.
Thanks Phil, you smug cunt.
Cheers.
Aaron Bennett
Let's talk a bit more about this in the interest of having a genuine conversation about how V4 is affecting our local scene.
Over here there are a couple of players that have started getting into flames with V4, but it doesn't seem like hardly anyone is picking MW up. I am going to try to run some events when the Eastern Front stuff comes out, but now I am only playing the occasional game.
TY is weird here. Everyone bought it, but people play games at random times. Everyone is into so many different games here. Seems like lately Bolt Action has been gaining more steam than Flames.
Robert Moore
STREWTH, FUCK OFF YA CUNT
STRAYA FOREVER
Austin Kelly
My community has pretty much moved onto other games. People are surprisingly dropping FoW for 40k and 30k. I never thought Id see the day...
We cant attract new players because the v4 rules are broken and of poor quality. They were literally not proofread.
We need a new 15mm IgoYougo game like FoW to fill the void and let us use our models.
MW is pretty lame. The options are too few. Given how fleshed out v2 MW was, it is a definite step backwards.
Fuck Phil and his smug laziness.
Cheers.
Ryan Lopez

Alexander Walker
>Let's talk a bit more about this in the interest of having a genuine conversation about how V4 is affecting our local scene. From here, people who already played want to play V3 but a lot of them are losing interest because tournaments are going to shift over eventually. The shop said they were hoping for another team yankee, but it's just sitting on shelves. They're hoping in 4-5 months someone will "discover" it and a community will emerge.
Hunter Wilson
Funny, similar here: lots of former 40k players who were playing FOW the past 4-8 years are more excited about 8th Ed 40k than they have been about FOW V4. We've had a few new FOW players (none doing MW), but easily lost at least that number of FOW Vets.
I'm sure it varies by region and group, but for me V4 was pretty poor. I'll give it the rest of the year to see, otherwise I'll be playing something else if things don't improve.
They should have started MW Kursk, if they had to start in Mid War.
Joseph Stewart
>Seems like lately Bolt Action has been gaining more steam than Flames.
Not surprised Really since Bolt Action is much easier to get into and isn't a hardcore simulation of ww2 battles. The endless complains people are having with V4 is not excatlly going to help people get into the game. I wanted to get into V3 but couldn't find players, or even encourage the local gamers in my area to play it or any other games for that manner.
Ethan Lee
If you're in the UK Rosemary and Co series 33 brushes are good value for money.
I find 0 is the most useful brush size for 15mm. 2/0 is nice if you want to do a lot of face detail but not necessary. 1 and 2 are good size for block painting but I tend to use cheaper sable brushes for that.
If you don't already have it get Master's Brush Cleaner and Preserver. Use it to clean your brushes after every session.
Mason Powell
I'm trying to push v4 MW here but the most interested player has Italians so I might need to wait for them before making a big push. The rest are happy with v3 so FoW is not dead here.
I think 8th is looking interesting. I'll just play both if it's good.
Nathaniel Adams
Thanks for the help.
Aaron Jenkins
>FoW >hardcore simulation of ww2 battles.
Tyler Sanchez
I think you might be drawing conclusions that aren't implied.
Asher Barnes
Yeah, BA's zany and fun and every LGS has piles of 28mm terrain. I can build a reinforced platoon for about 120 unless I'm going for a Soviet conscript horde or something.
FoW got into cheap plastics too late in the game(and only after PSC lit a fire under their asses).
Liam Fisher
I think FoW is also pretty cheap to get into these days (for LW at least). I think they mainly just dropped the ball with the new MW releases. The lists are a bit anemic and the cards aren't doing enough to bulk up the options. I think the American and Italian release will help spice things up a bit, but I can't help but worry that the Eastern Front will get the same bit of "optimizing".
I mean unless you bring a bad list (M1s or Leo 2s) TY is expensive as hell to start, but its selling great for now. I assume interest in the Theatre of Operations is also a big driver of sales.
Jack Jones
Also 28mm, people really seem to like that scale for some reason, even if it means vehicles are absurdly large.
Hunter Price
>costs 150~ bucks for minimum sized bmp company. >this is about less than 1/5 if you play 100pts or 1/4 80 points
Elijah Lopez
I suppose it has to do with the popularity of the Warhammer.
Tanks definitely feel a bit crowded in 28mm and their presence in an infantry platoon game is silly, though I understand that they're a cash cow and look cool.
For some reason I'm more bothered by heavy mortars and howitzers not being off-map units.
Thomas Reyes
BUT IF THEY WERE OFF THE TABLE THEN WE COULDN'T SELL THEM
Joseph Reyes
Hell even in flames howitzers should be off map assets. Oddly enough Flames Vietnam did it right and made all arty off map unless it was a mission where your fire-base was being assaulted.
Still, it's hilarious to see a platoon level skirmish in BA with a random single 152mm howitzer on the front lines.
Leo Torres
That's why in BA I only bring glorious Universal Carriers.

Has anyone here received their PSC T-55s yet?
Those were supposed to be shipped at the start of the month.
Parker Gomez
People in the UK are now getting theirs. Mine was shipped on monday but I am in Australia so I am expecting to wait another week or so.
Anthony Martinez
Putting some plastic t72s together. Anyone find the real fuel drums don't properly align?
pic semi-related

They're such a bitch, along with the Unditching log, to the point that I just left the logs off.

Yeah, it took a bunch of fiddling for me, not sure if 100% of mine are straight, but yeah...
