i think thats an excellent start user, but i feel like you shouldnt be putting to many details up yet. maybe focus on getting all land masses in, then add details in latter. For added coolness and not so much smudging, go over your pencil work with ink, wait about 10 minutes per section, then erase over it to have a crisp look it. If you plan to color it, water colors are a great tool, but make sure to use water colors first, let it dry, then go over in black ink to make details, borders, paths, etc pop more.

And whatever you do, dont get attached to your art.

fuck you greg

I appreciate the feedback and the warning. I had no intention of coloring it, but now I definitwly will. But I'm basically letting ideas fall out of my head as they come to me, thus random details and no set continents. You can't see it in the shitty lighting, but I have sketched lightly the basic shape of the landmasses

Ah, the Vague Isles.

Where great mysteries abound. Maybe.

I'm going to have Dwarves set up in the northwest, with Peak Hold as their capital. King or Emporer?

Update

goblinpunch.blogspot.com/2016/01/a-few-more-words-on-dwarven-culture.html

Im drawing a blank. I got this far

>>dohoho
I have now placed the center of Elven civilization

Continuing update
The Elven dense forest now exists
It extra mega-dense in that crescent above the central tree

Are you Oglaf?
Also, fuck you, you made me hurt myself laughing.

Please give more, hombre

Ther eis a word for that, but I'd bet you 49 Norwegian krone that it isn't "tree"

Hooray, I'm mildly interesting

Now with a sounthern landmass

Also the dwarves and the elves have an eternal war

Ignore that second quote, phoneposting is hard

Elves hate dwarves, but rarely conflict because of the distance between them, and the human lands in the way

Close up of the southern ladnmass, where the Orcs live. They killed the last of the primordial titans and use its carcass as their only city

No more pictures tonight, wife doing a sleep
Lore time: the humans have cities all over the world, and are consummate traders. They have more ease than the other races learning languages, so in the rare case of diplomacy, notable humans are used as interpereters

Elves belive that when they die, their soul returns to the Central Tree, and is stored in a seed. Once every hundred years, it releases a cloud of seed pods into the wind, to much fanfare and celebration.

Conversely, the dwarves belive that their dead return to the earth, and take the form of precious gems and metals. They dig the earth to find their ancestors' beauty of soul crsytallized and bring it forth.

>Ogrefall
>titan
That's an ogre.

The skeleton is big enough that it shows on a planetary map, it was a titan. The Orcish word for it translates closest to ogre, and nobody really wants to try and correct them.

The orcs are a proud, nomadic race that follows herd of beast in rheir migrations around the southern continent. They use Ogrefall as the center of their civilization, because it was their ancestors' most glorious hunt, and because the monstrous bones are harder than iron, but with their shaman's magic they can be 'mined' and shaped

The large crater in the northeastern part of the north continent suddenyl appeared within 50 years ago, but no one knows how or why. But no one whobyries to get to the tiny island in the center ever returns

Hey artOP you need players for your campaign?

I don't really have a campaign planned as of yet, but if this is still on the board when I'm done, maybe

The goblin shantytown of Ratbog exists in a perpetual state of falling over, burning down, and sinking into the swamp it is constantly being built on. The shore is awash with driftwood from shipwrecks, and occaisionally entire sunken homes resurface from the murk. All of this continuea to exist because of the export of a berry that only grows in the swamp that has hundreds of culinary and medicinal uses. Traders come into the city laden with tools, supplies, and other foods to leave stocked full of Goblinberries.

>Goblinberries.

You really need a better name for those.

-Rubus Gobinious- Also known as (Insert snazzier name here.)

An incredibly versatile fruit used in various culinary works from jams to meat sauces and more. It also has several incredibly potent medicinal uses and is considered around the world as Nature's naturally occurring Panacea.

Looks pretty good. Maybe make the roads like less parabolic. I.e. Make it look like they follow the lay of the land more rather than arcing in smooth curves between locations
