Paizo Games General /pgg/ (Pathfinder & Starfinder)

Have your characters ever gotten into any intrigue? What sort of schemes did they uncover? How'd their courtly antics end?

>INTRIGUE

This kills the Isao

You didn't put a subject. Try again.

What's a more sophisticated language to read and speak: Dwarvish or Giant?

Dwarvish seems to average okay
Giant has both Super Stupid Oafs and Ancient Genius Wizard Kings and Shit, doesn't it?

Giant has some pretty ancient things, like Storm Giants on top of mountains. Dwarven is more commonly used, though, and deals with ancient traditions, is often carved into ancient stone... really, I'd say dwarven is more sophisticated, because the dwarves have ancient supreme kings too, but lack the widespread retarded oafs Giants have in their midst.

Please, God, let me die.

Please talk to someone user. I think you're all faggots, but I worry about your faggots. Please give some hint if you're afraid of giving out a name, if you need some advice I don't know if we can give it but at least let someone try to be a wall for your thoughts.

Yeah, honestly, you're probably right. There are just too many damn ogres and trolls dragging Giants down, and that's not even getting into Mouthbreather Hill Giants.

STARTOAD

Who knew it was his one weakness?

What's wrong with intrigue?

this kills the StarToad

Naderi implies it's romantic suicide, not just suicide.

This is my wall, I've finally hit the point in my life where I can't actually hide from it and I'm surveying my situation and realizing just how much wasted potential is here. I can eke out a living at a lower socio-economic status, but I'd rather end it before things got to that.

Reminder that only meme apps will get into Ensoulment.

If people aren't talking about you, you won't get in.

Haha, kill me.

RIP me ;-;

How do I make a cute paladin?

If any of you meme me we're not friends anymore.

That's where you're wrong, buddy.

P-please stop killing Itsuko's brother! He's dead enough! She might have to tell you off if you do it again!

How... intriguing!

Pretty much every game so far has had counterexamples to this.

go away unwist

Name them.

Chosen One Paladin, make her a cute farmgirl with a talking chicken or cat.

Rolled 2 (1d4)

Or she'll slap you for 1d4 damage!

Or she might cry and need comforting.

Your rules are in the doc, weirdo! We'll probably need to work on the race table.

I'll be getting to this, albeit slowly as I have a game to run.

Still taking requests though for the /pgg/ homebrew! Here's the doc for homebrew that's already been made!

I want to see Aurelia getting gangbanged by Tieflings already, what the fuck drawfag.

Aranha, Rorymei, Cashmere, the entire cast of FotJR.

How sweet. I'll wrap my arms around her and plunge a knife in the back so she can join him~

Artemy, Blingmaker Elf, 50% of the Overlewds.

Name three games and I'll name the nobodies in at least two.

...

T-that's mean. You're mean!

I want to take her on a date to a small town cafe!

>NEWS IN BRIEF - Local - Food

>Blingmaker Elf

>Neutral Evil Necromancer
>Apparently been trouble in-game

What was Wubu thinking?

She appears to have been busy finishing and posting their own Ensoulment app. Hopefully she'll be getting back to meme fanart now that that's done.

>the average elf man can't impregnate the average elf woman even on a max roll without having special traits
Shit rules, famalam.

Guys, give me your best redheaded tomboys. Bonus points if they're in practical clothes.

I posted some yesterday, you d-dumbos!

Is this thread actually about the Pathfinder RPG, or is it just insular discussion between a few select anons (who at that point might as well not be anons). Like wouldn't this sort of discussion be better suited to a Discord? I see very little game discussion going on, all I see is role playing (I think?)

Shit traits... Or ingenious?

What this means is an Elf must be potent and virile to impregnate an Elven Maiden, or the Elf must be especially fertile. This explains Elven birth rates and gives us a hint as to how they reproduce.

Cute false flag, if you're got mechanics to talk about, we're all waiting

There's basically nothing to talk about

>gives us a hint as to how they reproduce
>a literal race of cucks

Why is sword and board so frowned upon? I don't want to be an ODZS warder all the time.

Our thread is self-moderated and providing exactly the discussions people want, if you don't like it than ignore it.

You busybody!

I hate this new meme

Because Sword and Board is really, really bad

That said, if you're using PoW, you absolutely don't have to go Sword and Board to be effective

The problem is that it's a permanent general. Because of that, when discussion lulls, people start talking about other things. If the general only came up when someone actually wanted to talk about things, it wouldn't be nearly as bad.

Having issues with the Derrin/Matheo shot so I'll come back to it later and get on this.

YAMETE

One handing swords is shit because no damage
Shields are shit because they force the above situation, while only giving a few points of AC, which is a terrible defense.
Making either good requires a ton of feats, class features, and sometimes maneuvers/stances, and in the end doesn't really justify the massive opportunity costs.

Godspeed,

I meant to write that you absolute can go sword and board and be effective, fuck.

You missed the fertility rules there, mate.

(2d4+8).8+40 (Ovulation)-10
If we take average rolls, that's:
13*.8 (10.4, rounds to 10) + 40 - 10

This gives an elf male a chance 40% chance to impregnate their partner.

That being said, I added some extra rules to Quantity to help our poor elf friends.

>Every Elven village has a handful of studs to breed a man's wife, or particularly fertile women the Elven men take turns impregnating
>Genetic information of the husband can still pass through to his children, he just needs to be sloppy seconds

>tfw building my first wizard
>tfw have to walk that fine line between being either completely worthless or powerfully versatile
>tfw now at the part of char-gen where I have to pick spells
How do you guys manage it? What's your secret to making full-casters? I already have the build right now, and I think its got a good balance between flavor and optimization. How do you guys grab spells without accidentally ruining everything?

I'd rather see both parties of RotJR in polos and slacks

Simple, I use SoP instead.

Oh, I see.

Is it a crime to be an awoo with only ears and no tail?

Its a crime to be an Awoo period, scum.

So, Iron Tortoise is practically a requirement? At least I know where to start.

Hey what happened to what Paizo said in the beginning, that they wanted to avoid class bloat and wanted to attempt to have the archetype system and feat trees encompass character options. It seemed like a really neat idea that got thrown out in favor of MORE CLASSES! and it's kind of turned me off of the game. I mostly only play it cause the rpg crowd in my town has population 6, and all of them only play 3.P

Yeah, Iron Tortoise is the shield discipline

Realistically a base Warder is still VERY strong, and is the best at sword&board builds

Honestly only the occult & Alternate classes are really superfluous.

I would if I could, however the archetype and PrC are not compatable, and I'm building it with no campaign in mind, so I have I can't assume I'll have access to PoW

Maybe it shouldn't be called Pathfinder general, then. I know I've come here to discuss stuff and been completely overwhelmed by the in-speak and all the posting of stuff I clearly have no clue about. It doesn't even seem to be Pathfinder related

>Maybe it shouldn't be called Pathfinder general

its no, its being switched to Paizo Games General due to Starfinder going to drop in a few months

Who should get into DAA?

>People talking about PoW
>People homebrewing
>People talking about games recruiting

I get that there's a lot of noise inbetween, but we're still pathfinder (and starfinder leaks) here.

You can always make conversions for archetypes and classes to SoP, its not hard

Don't bully!

Just another reason for me to like warder, huh?

I do something easy - I find a focus i want to work on, and just work from there. Like casting enchantments, or being a blaster.

focusing makes you very good at a role, but have holes in your strategy. that's good for game balance because it means the GM can arrange for other characters to shine, and it fits literature that's all about mages being focused specialists like summoners and necromancers or whatever.

Why not try to convince them to play something else?

>occult classes
>superfluous

nigga the Hybrid Classes didn't really need to be separate classes, alternate classes should have just been templates, but the Occult Classes? The fucking Occultist especially?

hybrid classes are fucking amazing you take that back.

Oh yeah, for sure

Most of the hybrids could be archetypes yeah.

Hunter is literally my favorite class in the game.

Even the Skald?

endzeitgeist.com/bloodforge-infusions-esoteric-energies/

Are these actually broken or is this guy just a grog

>Apparently been trouble in-game

That wouldn't surprise me based on what I know of the player

What sorts of NPCs have you had that were inspired by characters from other games? I will definetly have Bagamnan and his brothers and sister as Vesk Bounty hunters.

What? Man, Skald is an awesome class when you're in a martial party. Especially if part of those martials are barbarians or bloodragers.

Post more then, please.

WWW is a game thats pretty much full of nobodies.

Tell us about them?

Th Hybrids are only superfluous because their full-caster counterparts tend to be superior already in Core, especially the Divine Casters

Really, if Cleric and Druid had been built less beefy/gishy, the Warpriest and Hunter would've been perfectly justified.

Also, Arcanist is how Wizard should've been from day one.

Really the only Hybrids that feel superfluous are Swashbuckler and Shaman (even though its one of my favs), since they bring nothing really good or new to the table. Also, Brawler is almost superfluous thanks to the UC Monk, and is barely saved by Shield Champion and the fact that Martial Artist archetype is incompatible with UCMonk

I also want to see Dragons 1 and 2 at the beach

Keep in mind I don't actually play with him, but I've heard he's abrasive and is bad at appropriate social interaction, both in character and out.

>Druid completely outdoes Hunter
no, they actually do two completely different things. Druid is a nature themed full caster with an animal taped to it. Hunter is a beastmaster archetype with everything in its kit focused on supporting the animal.

they have similarities, yeah, but hunter plays and is built much differently than druid.

Warpriest, sadly, has no such excuse.

Warpriest acts as THE ULTIMATE GISH though, swift action self buffs are AMAAAZING

there's no reason clerics are full BAB tho, fuck that shit

About half of them are amazing, but they could have been archetypes or templates and worked just as well. Like, an user had already pointed out: The Investigator looks like someone stole the first draft of URogue stuff and hotglued alchemy to it.

I wouldn't say that they're overPOWERED

A bit overloaded? Yes, like most other Bloodforge race

The negative/positive energy races are totally fucking busted. The armor dudes are just fine though.

Is Arcanist more or less powerful than Wizard?

Make Cleric and Druid 1/2 BaB/d6 by default and suddenly the Hunter and Warpriest are now natively pretty goddamn badass.

Hunter is also significantly better at combat until druid gets a meaningful pounce option, and even then has a lot of accuracy advantages and can still build heavily off of move and standard action economy. Sharing teamwork feats, martial weapon proficiency, and early access to ranger spells mean they're consistently swinging hard, especially early on since spells like lead blades normally aren't available to anyone else at 1st level.
