Aztec Lizardmen abhumans who believe if they perform enough sacrifices to the Emperor they can be reborn as humans
Anyone want to try at getting a name up for our Lizard's?
They ride fucking velociraptors and use stegosauruses with Howdas as chimera's
Using giant flying dinosaurs as there air transports
>Jump off the giant dinosaur to parachute down to tear out the enemies throat.
In Aztec myth, they performed sacrifices to protect the world from space skeletons with snake penis's
replace those with Tyranids with snake penises

>SGT Gurt Camacho spits on his blade, his black reptilian tongue snaking out for only a moment. He sets the broad knife on his whetstone and begins to sharpen it in deft, practiced strokes. CPL K'ztl Boone applies his oily sage grease paint to his deep azure hide while Private 4th class T'k'chwa Phrane reads his Primer and services his weapon. The two Private First classes muck the impromptu stables and wash the steeds. SGT Camacho turns his yellowed eyes towards you, "'Ey Pri', lemme see dat dere weapon yous workin' on." You oblige, handing your NCO your lasrifle for inspection. The large abhuman speaks again, "Wouldn' 'spect you to know dis, but you gots to open up da 'ssembly so you can clean de amplifier, lotta grime'll build up right he'e." You nod, taking back the rifle. "You know summat boi, you new, so Ima give you da same speak we always be givin' younguns." You set aside your weapon, and listen intently. "Dey might hate us. Dey will, in fac'. But dat don' matta none to us, ya hea'? Da only who can judge any man is Da Emprah. You remembah dat."
I love both of these things as they hit the right vibe
Do we want to fluff out their world or their partnership with the sisters?
Lets not get retarded here.
They use raptor-like creatures for recon, quieter than a bike and can fight when you're downed
Okay fair point on that I just imagine that a large majority of their motor pool are dinosauresque creatures.
>Lets not get retarded here.
FUCK YOU
I DROP ROCKS, DEMONS DIE SCREAMING
Could drop melta bombs
ACCEPTABLE.
Exactly. lets not get retarded here
So how on earth did they get allied with a Adepta Sororita order?
>"what the fuck? fucking abhumans, lets burn this mutant fi-"
>lizardmen proceed to murder shitloads of aliens screaming
>"Hang on a second."
Honestly, I imagine that maybe there's an imperial mission with a cathedral on the planet, the the Sororitas are the guards for it (it IS a deathworld, you probably need armed soldiers for it)
I think those are the minders, and if necessary, executioners.
The best way I could currently fluff is that the order begrudgingly accepts them because of the Tlacopan Penitent's saving their bacon from a Tyranid invasion force. Oaths were sworn through gritted teeth and an alliance was made.
This and
this and
this combined
forgot and this
Think you meant this
>Original contact with planet's inhabitants was nothing more than watching us from a far
>Once the Cathedral built to the God-Emperor had been erected they came in untold numbers and kneeled before it uttering prays in their native tongue. So many of them seemed less than human, many could have been mistaken for beasts
>It was then that Missionary Cotrez came about and began a sudden sermon, the creatures were enraptured by his fire and his passion for our Lord,
>Cortez has returned from his time among them the other sisters look to him now as some of mutant lover, He has begun to teach them more of the Emperor's Holy works and with each day their Morning Chants to Him on Holy Terra grow more and more. I once awoke to what sounded as if the whole Planet was chanting for salvation or perhaps guidance to appease our God-Emperor.
I really don't like this name.
Here are some of my ideas for planet names
>Kanzodag
>Zandolit
>Taoltseh
>Camorann
>Qtzelak
>Telocaan
And some suffixes, Penal could be in front of them for extra descriptive power
>Scalemen
>Doomhunters
>Bush Fangs
>Swamp Fighters
>Jungle Terrors
Well personally I would make it against Orks since they are the Regiments enemy's already and there tactics would not help to much against a unending swarm
I like Otzelak as a planet name
Regiment name none of the ones you suggested sound very good with Penal in front so maybe Bush Fangs Penitent?
Could be that if they ever fight chaos forces that have taken a lot of the major parts of a city they go for a capture mission of either the cult leader or a lot of small fries. Then they perform a ritual in order to ward off heretical and xenos forces from attacking the planet again.
Say hello to a logistical nightmare
Likely would be yes as feeding and housing would be the most pressing problems as well as transport having to accommodate their mounts.
You have a point there and it would even be better to say that the mounts eat the orks because eating Tyranids is just bad for you. But at the same time Orks can be just as much of an unending tide. Our regiment is likely always deployed with our Friends/Minders/ Religious school buddies meaning we'd have more to hit the nids or orks with.
At least with orks they have more stealthy units such as Kommandos that they could fight and the sisters can handle the more direct combat.
I think of it like this yes we're a regiment that specializes in guriella warfare but our core units are made out of the toughest of abhumans a big wall of ogryn sized lizard men or Kroxigors wielding big guns. They're the guys who draw our enemies attention while we have our Raptor-Rippers flank them and just go for the enemy leader or plant promethium fuel caches around their main base then have our Ariel units drop their melta bombs on top of those fuel caches.
Plus Lictors too are of a sneaky kind of beast that tyranids make use of as are gene-stealers.
So what role would the sisters have with the regiment? Since they are allies they would have more of a role then just simply being overseers.
I'm not saying that they don't fight tyranids at times. just that they mainly focus on orks and that if we are going with idea that we just replace the tyranids with orks.
>Raptor mounts
You people have no imaginations, no soul
Fair points and I agree with you on changing it to Orks however what the sisters provide is real fire power as I can't imagine our regiment having any super heavy vehicle or too much armor or armor breaking stuff. The sisters are there to be the spear once our big main line has cleared the way they go in further with our big guys giving support. At least that's how I imagine it working I'm open to ideas as always.
Alternatively
>Venom spitting Llama Raptors
>Regiment Enemies: Orks
What about instead we have Correctional instead of Penal? Like you can get out of the regiment
Bush Fang Correctional's sounds pretty good
or even Otzelak Correctional's
373rd Qtzelak Correctional Regiment (Aka Qtelak Gatormen/Bush Fangs)
Perfect
This is actually fairly interesting
It is just don't know a good name for these things
Glixtodonts?
Wait, Orks are some of our main enemies?
Uhhh,
Works for me
This is probably far too late, but what would you guys think about flipping it, and instead of Aztec lizardmen (which is kinda just ripping off Warhammer), have Conquistador lizardmen?
It works well with the steeds (we could keep the stegos and triceratops, or have them riding raptors, the sororitas and absolute faith would fit super well, and they have bitchin helmets.
I think it could work maybe say that the first couple incarnations of the regiment warriors kept to their tribal ways until a Missionary started to educate them and all that.
and they were converted, immediately became devout, and now ride into battle to spread the word of the emperor.
and if the slann are still around, they absolutely hate them, because they're foul xenos that remind them of their own deformities. It would be a good parallel between the slann (who are very aztec-themed) and these guys, and the actual Aztecs and conquistadors.
So in this thread there's an Ork WAAUUGH based around a spacehulk converted into a flagship. They're mostly focusing on looting Tau and krumpin' gits for teef. The roll in krump the Tau invaders and then leave when the imperium shows up because all da flash Dakka is elsewhere. They mostly got PDF tier stuff for the imperium here.
Thing is the segmentum is frontier area for the Imperium and a lawless shithole. Think dese boys could be drummed up to bring order to the emperor's worlds?
Fuck this sounds great. But how are the Qtzelak Bush Fangs handled when they are deployed and off their homeworld. When they go on shore leave are they confined to what ever base they are stationed at?
Just how human are these abhumans? Are the taller or shorter than normal humans? More flexible perhaps? Keener sense of smell? What is their diet? Any significant differences in brain development and structure?
Also whats a standard kit look like, and what are favored weapons, heroes, stories and tactics?
>Penal legion
>All Male
>Standard conscription
>Imperial World
>Predominantly Ocean terrain
>Light infantry doctrine
>Close Combat focus
>Overzealous loyalty
>Preferred Fighting Style
>Tribal Faiths
>regiment friends League of Blackships
>Dark Eldar enemy
>Minor enemy Xenarch
Looks like I rolled a gang of highly religious tribal sea people that fight like it's 10,000 BC, that also somehow have the support of giant psyker space ships while fighting pansies and another minor faction that I have no knowledge of.
I was going to laugh at you guys, but then I realized that I never actually shared my thoughts on that.
I wrote this My view is that names and some aesthetics are Aztec-ish, but the large swathe of population is Creole Fire and Brimstone Baptists
Oh, I like that, and it fits a gritty Imperial Guard better than my conquistador idea. Plus the Bush Fangs makes more sense.
The only problem is that I don't know nearly enough about Creole culture to really contribute.
I don't think they should be too different from regular humans. Same average size, probably.
I like the idea of a better sense of smell. It reminds me of Roach in Apocalypse Now, who uses a grenade launcher to kill a guy just by smell.
But I think any differences should be mostly muted, that they should be guys set back by their mutations, but determined to do their duty regardless.
> determined to do their duty regardless.
Completely agree. So are the men proud or ashamed of their natural gifts. If the later it could give an interesting look to their kit. Lightweight, camo coloured cloaks, or tunics and pants. Maybe some extra padding (and armor) by proxy so they don't seem as unnaturally lean/lithe (at least for the very slender ones).
So if they are from a death world, jungle world, and use exotic mounts what would an elite's war geat look like? Heavy spear, or maybe grenade launchers with firebombs grenades, frags, and kraks. Are the Mounts adept at running in the open or across Jungle, and very crowded terrain like cities, hives, rough terrain?
Or perhaps do the mounted warriors wield modified eviserators stuck on longer shafts, like elite cav halbeards? Good for clearing jungle paths and taking down infantry, light armor and possibly even heavy armor. Plus it cold be courtesy of their friends of the Sisters of Battles since they have tons of eviserators cause of their repentias.
I think most are proud so that they aren't ashamed. Like the whole Tyrion Lannister "wear it like armor and it can never be used to hurt you" thing. Others may try to hide their mutations, but these guys shove it right in your face before anyone else can.
I like the idea of lizardmen in Vietnam-style kit, or at least the netted helmets look. For the same reason I'm leaning towards grenade launchers, and nimble mounts like raptors.
I like the spears, although cavalry sabers would also be cool. Eviscerators are fuck-heavy though, even without putting one on the end of a stick.
