How do you feel about the Path of War errata so far? Will you be using it?
Will you play a warlord ever again? Will you play a Strfag that isn't a warder or a Brutal Slayer ever again? Will you play Dex TWF ever again?

It's a new day! You know the drill by now: Throw me homebrew requests and I'll see what I can do for you!

Don't ask me to fix PoW errata!

>will you be using it?
Don't even play with PoW, so no.

Can someone give me the ultra-short summary of the big changes in the errata?

Dexterity reigns.

Its fine, the deadly agility changes are fine, the warlord changes are fine, everything is fine.

/pfg/ just likes to whine when anything gets nerfed and proclaim it RUINED FOREVER

Deadly Agility gives 1.5 and 0.5 like Str does
GREATER UNARMED STRIKE BUFFS
Some stalker changes?
Warlords can no longer slam down everything into Cha and call it good.

STEEL SERPENT IS NO LONGER LIMITED BY WEAPON TYPE.

No it doesn't, Dexterity was NERFED because it gets taxes more for feats, the only combat style that was buffed with the changes would be polearm dancer based builds, which still require two feats to function as strength does at base.

Warlord's Tactical Flexibility and Assistance got gutted, their Charisma Benefits are halved, and their Gambits generally got downgraded. Basically Warlords got fucked.

Stalker mostly got clarifications. Precog got fucked.

Deadly Agility became a pure strength replacer, fucking TWF builds.

Sacred and Profane damage got fucked.

Some scattered clarifications to PrCs and Archetypes.

So
1. Warlords actually need more than just charisma
2. Stalkers hardly changed
3. TWF dex builds need one more feat to function exactly as they were before
4. A deserved fucking into the ground
5. ye.

I don't mind any of these except 0.5x DEX. I want to know what in the world the thought behind that was.

>d20pfsrd.com/traits/combat-traits/steel-skin
>You gain the ability to don or remove heavy armor in half the normal time. Additionally, you begin play with a great helm bearing the iconography of your family (this helm grants no special defensive benefits). While wearing this helm with a suit of heavy armor, you gain a +2 trait bonus on Intimidate checks.

>While wearing this helm with a suit of heavy armor, you gain a +2 trait bonus on Intimidate checks.

As a DM, would you allow the helmet to be worn with a suit of medium armor, in this case a breastplate?

That you shouldn't get x2 dex to damage for one feat

>1. Warlords actually need more than just charisma
Oh, I'm sorry, I kind of liked Tactical Flexibility and Assistance being good. Sorry it bothered you.

>3. TWF dex builds need one more feat to function exactly as they were before
Great, what TWF needed was MORE FEAT INVESTMENT.

>4. A deserved fucking into the ground
What? Since when was Sacred or Profane damage part of some crazy exploit or build? It wasn't. Silver Crane is in the lower middle damage range and this hurts their damage against their designated foes. It hurts everyone who uses those damage types at all.

I'm trying to look for a map I can use as a "spooky town"-style setting for my session tonight, anyone know where I could look for such a thing? I tried the stuff in Strange Aeons but most of that is just specific rooms, with few maps or even just zoomed out top-down art of anything AFAIK.

Sacred damage was always insane, its what made Holy Smite in SoP STRAIGHT UP BROKEN and banned from games.

>one feat
>you've spent three feats to be able to do dex-based TWF
>you still need feats (Improved+Greater TWF) to finish the TWF tree
>now you need Double Slice too
>"one feat"

>Dex requires more feats than str to be good
>

Oh i'm sorry you don't get two feats at once, normie scum

and yet still you fags will bitch about 1.5x

>SoP
That's a SoP problem, not a PoW problem. In PoW, it made Silver Crane worth using at all.

But i think 1.5x is fine
Silver crane and black seraph are both still really good

Guys pls.

Black Seraph will be fine because it had good damage and debuffs regardless. Silver Crane relied on sacred damage to pull it up to upper middle damage against evil foes. Otherwise, Golden Lion does what it does already. Later on it even heals better.

You know actually, after giving what you said some thought I might be okay with this. I mean this change is bad for TWF fighting, but it helps keep STR based TWF and DEX based TWF close to each other so that REND AND TEAR builds aren't discouraged.

Of course we go back to the problem of TWF in general being shit, but I think fixing that is outside the scope of PoW and errata. Maybe they'll decide to add something small to Thrashing Dragon.

So here is an example of a character in a breatplate, in this case a Steel Falcon.

He does not have a helmet, but by the looks of his armor it is not at all unreasonable for him to have one.

Yup, as long as its a full set of armor.

>Str based TWF
It's a fucking myth.

I personally wouldn't on principle because I'm a fag who plays as close to RAW as he can, but I don't think there's actually any problem with this at all and I think most DMs should allow this.

Speaking of the redheaded tomboy Vigilante, that art I'm using for her social identity will be her after she gets cleaned up. She won't like having to maintain that look, but she does have to play the part.

>Silver Crane
>Most maneuvers (especially ones that should lime exorcist strikes and pinions) don't actually deal sacred damage due to text-over-table shenanigans, so silver crane damage was not changed save for its ninth.
>The only major one that did sacred damage was powerful for its level because it's hilariously also the best healing maneuver at level 3.

Yeah, there's no hope for fixing TWF in base PF

I honestly think TWF line of feats should be one feat, that mostly fixes it.

Unless you go Ranger or Slayer.

STR is the only way you can competently TWF in 1pp.

see
you retard

Silver Crane is absolutely fine, its always been a strong discipline and it still will be

Or take Prodigious TWF.

Thank you! Now I have to figure out how to rejigger all these traits I want but can't have!

Additional Traits is becoming an appealing feat for me to take, help.

What? Level 2, blessed pinions does deal sacred damage.

>The pinion feathers of the Silver Crane’s wings gain an ethereal glimmer as if they were blessed steel. Heavenly agents guide their disciple’s attack so it may strike true as if it were blessed, even allowing it to strike the unseen. Make an attack against a foe that inflicts an additional 2d6 points of sacred damage and the attack is considered good aligned for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction. The disciple may also choose to strike incorporeal foes with this strike as if they were made manifest, including fiends who currently possess a creature. To strike a possessing fiend, the body they inhabit must be also struck, but all damage from the attack is inflicted upon the possessing fiend without harming the host.

So what kind of oracle is the best at support/buffing/battlefield control. I don't want to get into actual offense and debuffing, but buffs and BFC are what I want to base my character around.

This is for JttW.

Right now I'm intrigue because of the delicious flavor, but am reconsidering.

My other side is a bard so I already do have a lot of buffing locked down.

Ever come across any unusual merchants in your games, /pgg/? Strike any odd bargains for favors or treasures?

Granting +8~+10 to hit on flanking, for allies and yourself, with a small class feature is more than just good, user. Especially when that stacks with gambits.

If you really like aid another that much, that is actually buffed. Combo with Bushi for AoE +CHA aid anothers.

>Silver Crane is absolutely fine, its always been a strong discipline and it still will be
Based on what, nigga? I've played half a dozen SC users and the strikes without sacred damage are pretty fucking mediocre. If anything, the criticism would be that they need more of it.

but thats wrong, Silver Crane isn't there to deal straight damage

Met a nice devil once upon a time who wasn't interested in the soul trade. Made plenty of gold off us since he basically brought us all the items we ever wanted, and then some.

When we chatted, he often told us about things that were going on. So we used him as a quest giver.

Turns out, he used us, we sparked a war between two kingdoms, helped one side win, then installed a diabolical cult leader onto the throne.

That part sucked, but he never cheated us on a deal, and we even got frequent shopper discounts from him, so I guess it works out in the end.

I've heard of unusual merchants who sell Tomes.

What is the state of LoBaF ships friends! Who should I be betting on this week?

Oh, and I assume the current Tactical Flanker is totally worth a level? Count an adjacent space for flanking? Fucking amazing.

Oh wow, I can spend my standard action to maybe give a +2 to allies in 30? Fucking amazing, mate. Fucking amazing.

Oh, is it a support? Golden Lion's better at support. It also heals better at mid to high levels. It also deals more damage.

In just two and half hours, Broodie will get TPK'd for the second time this week

But thats wrong

Warlock vigilante: Yay or nay? For what reason to be yay/nay?

There are only four maneuvers that do sacred damage in the entire discipline, user.

Blessed Pinions and the ninth are the only ones you might have a leg to stand on. Exorcist Strike is utterly stupid with sacred damage (+9d6 on a third level maneuver is totally appropriate), and Silver Knight's Blade is a healing maneuver that inexplicably does sacred for no reason.

Holy and celestial pinions, or any of the other SC strikes, do NOT do sacred.

Homebrewing a STR-based unarmed fighter is tough because it's all about the vicious pragmatism but it apes the brawler a lot.

Update from yesterday. I'm the guy who is having his party and a group of refugees chased by a Ice Troll Werebear Bloodrager (Elemental Ice Bloodline).

So last night we settled some end of session stuff over text and did some map things. We figured out that the troll is herding us. We're pretty sure it's herding us towards a frozen lake. We're trying to get over the mountain and one of the villagers (some woodsman who survived, but got bitten, so he might be infected) knows there is a pass on the far side of the lake that could lead us out to the other side. The troll also took one of our own, but didn't injury anyone else. I have no idea how it snuck into camp, but it took the mayor's daughter (the mayer had been attacked, but not bitten by the troll, best we can tell the troll didn't kill him on purpose).

I don't know if the troll knows about the pass, apparently it's barely used now a days.

I feel like this is a trap and we're walking into it. What should we do?

Are you an idiot? Bushi warlord gives +CHA to all allies in a 30' radius for a move action.

And yes it's worth it. Guess what, warlords get maneuvers, not every level is going to be absolutely amazenuts. Rather, I'd like to hear why you think a +8 or more to hit is actually balanced.

6th level provides a healing counter that keeps pace with Silver Crane healing strikes and boosts. Otherwise, Golden Lion is absolutely a better support discipline.

Golden lion does less damage and offers less in other directions than silver crane

You're dumb

I'm not saying that the original version did not, in fact, need a number balance. Perhaps a hardcap. What I am saying is that the current versions of those abilities are fucking garbage.

>Bushi
That's wonderful until Bushi gets nerfed too.

Golden Lion does better damage through offering allies opportunity attacks. In an Initiator party, opportunity attacks can be huge.

Nay 1pp, Yay if you get Legendary Vigilantes 1/2

Now you're taking in factors that are out of a reasonable calculation user, fuck off you lost

Additionally, Bushi gives up bonus feats, tactical presences, and warlord's presence. The bonus feats are not big, but the presences are big. And I'm giving that up to salvage this crappy class feature.

Does anyone have art of characters wearing what appears to be very comfy armor? Stuff like draped wolf pelts, capes, fur lining and more.

How is 1pp nay? Assume that the campaign is as good as they get for a vigilante.

I have this

You misunderstand: Even a regular extra attack is a huge damage spike. It's just that initiators make that even more powerful. Golden Lion can easily pile on heaps of damage.

Did your unwitting servitude have any further consequences, or were matters settled following the end of the war?

Mystic Bolts are trash, is why.

Why they didn't give it a Kinetic Blast and Kinetic Blade/Extended Range for free is beyond me

What's wrong with brawler? What do you want it to do differently than the brawler?
Does the troll live in the area? You should assume that they know more about their home turf than you.

Rofl, come on dude

shit scaling for features, all you have is 6th casting,

So I'm getting to know more about the adventure my DM is planning for me, my barbarian character, and her skinwalker buddy! It's gonna be Johnny Mnemonic, sprinkled with Memento, set in Riddleport, with Cyphermages and hookers galore!

I'm so excited /pgg/!

This good mate?

Two attacks with full modifiers > 1 attack + d6s.

>STR-based fighter
So... a fighter?
Unarmed is just "takes weapon training (Close) and unarmed-based feats"
Is there not actually an unarmed fighter archetype already? I feel like there has to be one.

We sort of decided to skip out of town once we realized what was going on. Matters are still unsettled, as it was a beer and pretzels game, but it may become a plot point in the future, who knows.

you can't always rely on ally positioning

Here's hoping you enjoy yourself, user.

It's a good thing that Golden Lion helps with that too.

Saved the SHIT outta that... But no, I'm looking for something that would fit well with a more it's for Wrath of the Righteous, so the North.

Yeah the troll is native and was terrorizing the village.

We went out to kill it in its lair after we learned it lived in a cave at the base of the mountain. It pulled a run round on us and came out to kill the village. It had been staying there for a while because apparently a traveling priest before us had injured it.

We found an empty lair and came back to move of the village slaughtered.

Any other ideas?

Gimme a sec, I'll see what I can do for you

I'll b-be your healer for this campaign..

I'll do my best!

1st one, will dump more if I have anymore

...

Dandy. Keep this guy alive. If he stops killing people, we're going to have issues.

Thanks, Satan! You're the greatest!

There's nothing wrong with the brawler, it's just that my class might ape some of its features.

Well, the concept is more of a STR-based juggernaut. Think Arnold Schwarzenegger, but beating people to death with his bare hands and generally being a brute.

Never say Papa Asmo never did you any favors

6th level manuevers is kinda late-game for many players.

Also, I still feel like Golden Lion doesn't top Silver Crane in all circumstances. Among other things, Silver Crane's stances are still tremendously useful.

...

...

>Greetings, I am Sir Fluffanstuff

That puts you into Tier 3....

...

I want to play a wordcaster. Are there any games that allow it?

Okay, legit I wish this one was a mod in Skyrim

Fine with the fact that it's 6th level since I fucking hate 9th level casters. Mystic bolts are......eh they are crap, but at least the fucking vigilante feat let's you deal some damage at higher levels.
