>Dat Seoni

is the Crusader archtype for the Cleric any good?

It actually looks pretty damn cool. I'm curious how they'll handle spellcasting in Kingdom Death, given that it's not a system designed to work with the players having magic.

Alright, /pgg/, tell me what your ideal chargen would look like:

No kidding.

Kyra looks fucking cool, damn.

Say it's just the tail end of winter, the first flowers are starting to bloom in your neck of the woods. What flowers would your character want to receive?

If someone brought them something that they didn't realize had a dire meaning, how would they react?

She's really rocking that finger embroidered hem.

>what flowers would your character want to receive
It depends on who gives them the flowers and why they do it.

>if someone brought them something that they didn't realize had a dire meaning, how would they react
Assuming you mean the giver is ignorant but my character knows, it depends on how plausible their ignorance seems. If they're known to be fucking dumb, it's no big thing. If they're known to be shrewd, my character takes offense at the likely intentional slight.
If you mean my charater is ignorant of the dire meaning, then they react based upon the same information in Answer 1. Who gave them, and why?

Can someone parrot that Ulfen reccomended reading for me? I know an user was asking about it recently.

>So please accept this flower, with its petals, and...a stem...which represent my feelings, and shows you hooh, man I'm in trouble.

What I wanna know is who at Paizo was the one to approach the KD people for this. I mean, I just can't imagine one of the main Overlords okay-ing this idea, so it mst to have been one of the minor editors or someone else low on the totem pole

Why do you say that? Is Kingdom Death not big enough for Paizo, or is there another reason?

>Can someone parrot that Ulfen reccomended reading for me

>Jade Regent, Book 2 "Night of Frozen Shadows."
>Inner Sea Races
>Inner Sea World Guide
>People of the North
>Lands of the Linnorm Kings

Most of us are aching to answer questions, so if you've got any ask away!

LoBaF tonight! Who we gonna ship boys?

KD is pretty heavy on objectification of women in the art. They're still powerful, but where men get full suits of armor, women get bikinis and bodies that you'd expect on a porn star that's had cosmetic surgery done, not survivors.

>Lao Shu Po
So what is there an ancient Chinese Space Empire of rat people now?

Considering the Paizo tends to act like nazis about preserving their "image" and trying to be the least offensive as possible (late Paizo that is. I miss Old Paizo when the writers would try to get away with anything), I just can't see them wanting to collab with something as "problematic" and plainly fetishistic as KD

No, one of the Paizo's been playing Warhammer and realized they wanted The Horned Rat.

Got. I like the sound of these wind sisters, though as a PC at this low a level it would make more sense for the character to be an aspiring wind sister or a wind sister in training.

Psst. Hey, buddy. You want art? I think I got art.

You don't have a snowball's chance, user. Your prospects are too grim. You spent your life stuck in the mud and now you're crawling out on a limb.

Pariya-san!

The boys

Here's an example of a Wind Sister: pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Talla_Yrsasdottir

Personally? I'd suggest taking a gander at Cavalier (Beast Rider) and going from there! Aim for a Griffin, those things strike me as the eponymous Wind Sister mount.

...

I never realized that panel was Amira emphasizing what she wanted to do with Pariya in that scene, puts her tone in a completely new light to me.

Maybe if words fail, they'll know what I mean.

I... I don't know if this is a JoJo reference.

Hol' up
*poses*
HOL' UP

wrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyd the mango
I hate all you "animoo only" casuls

Artist? Tinyeye, Google, and iqdb are giving me nothing.

Beast Rider:
A beast rider cannot choose a mount that is not capable of bearing his weight, that has fewer than four legs, or that has a fly speed.

Already ran into this issue when trying to make a Griffin Knight a while back.

Easiest way by far to get a flying mount is Leadership, and DM hasn't said anything about banning it yet.

Even if he does, maybe I can sweet talk him into it for the character. A level 8 flying mount isn't too bad, considering most characters that can fly tend to do so around that level anyways.

Of course, this is just one character idea. I could also play an outlander, or just a general barbarian type.

...

So you be sayin

Your guess is as good as mine, buddy!

As requested, here's Noriel.

First off, content/mechanical notes:

1. Unless I've been misinformed, there are no gnolls in Mendev; in order to get there they'd have to travel across all of Avistan, only to arrive in the most hostile and vigilante nation on the planet. It just won't happen. Lamashtu worship is actually almost entirely non-existant in Mendev and the surround areas, you'd be far better off using cultists of Baphomet to keep the bestial breeding angle; or Pazuzu, if you want to explain the wings.

2. Why Fighter? Slayer or Ranger would both provide the same benefits, while supporting your Skills far, far better.

Now digging into the meat of the app...

1. Your backstory fails to explain who this person is. It's a criticism I come back to over and over, but it seems to be eternally relevant. The story you've written is just a collection of events that happen to your PC, and doesn't really reveal anything about her. Speaking as both a player and GM, I really don't care about a cut and dried backstory; the events themselves are rarely interesting, since its obvious how it ends. What is interesting is how the character reacts and interacts with the events. Don't just tell us what happened to her, take the opportunity to demonstrate her personality, quirks, and foibles. The closest we get is in one of the closing paragraphs where it talks about "going back to her roots" which might be a decent moment of development, if we knew anything at all about how she feels about being a young Elf all alone in the middle of a human land, then that moment could be cool. However, we don't...

2. She grew vestigial purple-feathered wings? Really? Really. That--that's what you're going with? Okay. I don't have much else to say, other than to point out how ridiculous and Sue-ish that is.

Actually, not this time.

Yeah, she's getting real assertive with her girlfriend there. Telling her how it's going to be.

We can work out something to that effect. I will probably be restricting Leadership though, I just didn't want to scare anyone off with huge ban lists. I find that curbs enthusiasm rather than encourages.

Damn. Well thanks for the art user.

Hey, if you ever need some character art you only need to ask!

Disagree with wings being sue-ish. The art has purple wings, and the feat for full blown fly speed has vestigal wings as a pre-req.

3.
>I'm naive and nice because I need some sort of flaw that lets me still be a perfect waifu!
>But I'm also mean sometimes!

I've seen this exact personality more than a dozen times, and I like it less and less each time.

A primary flaw should be something your character struggles against, that spreads out and infects every action they take. It should be something that breeds conflict. Being too nice doesn't fit that mold, and is usually beneficial, unless the GM actively tries to fuck with you.

On the flip side of the coin, you've got the extremism which isn't terrible; although cliche given the setup. However it seems to conflict with everything else you've written about her. Is she compassionate and naive? Or is she brutal and bitter? If the choice comes to save innocents or to kill demons, which one takes precedence? Given how you've written her, she wholeheartedly wants to do both, which doesn't really mesh into a cohesive portrait.

Now as for my suggestions...

1. Ditch the naivete in the current character. She may occasionally misunderstand human culture or misinterpret a motive, but she's had plenty of time to adjust, and is a trained soldier. Let her act like one.

2. Play up the extremism. Her family was murdered and she was exposed to weeks of the worst the Abyss had to offer. That's gotta leave some deep and lasting scars, beyond just not liking demons. Don't be afraid to embrace the Harbinger flavor and make her legitimately scary.

3. Play up the naivete at the beginning of the piece. Provide a contrast between the person she was before and the person is now. Possibly have her desire to recapture her previous mindset, force the compassion and openness into conflict with the lengths she'll go to, and the pain that causes her. Noriel can't go back to being the girl she was before, but perhaps the bloody path she's currently on also feels wrong; maybe she's searching for another option.

Also, the art is pretty bad.

Hey, trust me, it's better than letting everyone know it was a Shrek reference

Paizuri isn't the only thing getting a crossover with KD

I'm just surprised there was anybody else who picked up on it--I thought I was the only person 'round here who knew it existed.

It's eerily appropriate to my character though.

I tend to draw my own actually. But if you have anything neolithic/early bronze age that'd be awesome!

The character is an elf, not a tiefling.

But fuck me in the ass with a sandpaper dildo. My fucking browser loaded the wrong fucking app.

What sort of heavily armored half-orcs ya got? Female preferred, but not required.

You have one less spell slot per level, as well as being limited to only one domain.

In exchange, you get bonus feats to make you more a more capable martial combatant, as well as being able to cast group healing/buff spells to everyone within touch range of you at 8th level, at the expense of a higher level slot.

It's not bad if you're playing a buff-focused Cleric, and you mass-cast stuff like Bull's Strength or Owl's Wisdom on your party... but it's not that much of an improvement.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a female half-orc!

Neat. It's more for the character concept and lore than anything else, I tend to be a restrained player when it comes to mount abuse.

I also still might play something else that takes my fancy. Got plenty of time to stew it over.

>there aren't any oracle mysteries that are themed around slime or can even be refluffed into being slime or acid themed
fuck me and my balls

Remind me again, what sort of chargen rules was the DM planning for the potential LotLK game?

Aren't there some druid archetypes that can help? Like Cave Druid I think?

I'm not sure if this is actually a half-orc, but the shading gives you some wiggle room.

Ectoplasmic Alchemist, user!

Why don't we make one!
Also, sadly I lack any pics of goo/slime stuff, so pic unrelated

Ratfolk were apparently super heavy in Tian Xia, so much so that when the moon god died, the rat that nibbled on her corpse went on to gain divinity from it.

>I'd have a hero's ending, a perfect happy ending.
>That's how it would be
>A big bright beautiful world
>But not for me.

Why doesn't your character deserve happiness? Are they cursed or tainted somehow?

WE

>on her corpse

His. The Moon God was a guy, and he was in love with Not!Amaterasu.

why not ask homebrew annon to help you out?

True heroes die at the end.

>tfw you acquire a lovely new direction for your character
>mfw you can't quite figure out some solid traits for them

Where do I even start?

thats fuckin metal

>youtube.com/watch?v=5ZYgIrqELFw

How do I have layers in Pathfinder?

True. But sometimes, the end is in their bed, decades later, surrounded by those they love and who love them in return.

A demon always hides. A bastard's fate is known.

Oh man, you haven't heard Mouth Sounds?

youtube.com/watch?v=YjWkO15-gcE

So I didn't make it into the game I applied to, super bummed.

How often do you guys play?

Nah.

A real hero fights until they have no more enemies to fight, no more blood to shed, and no more breath in their lungs.

Every Tuesday and Friday, then every other Saturday.

>no more /pfg/ in OP

But why?

A Hero knows when they've done what needs to be done, and can step aside to let the next generation take over. Personally, I despise the sorts who think that a man is expected to do more than save the world. You're not a superhero, you're not expected to shoulder the weight of the world.

Isn't demon bastard kinda oxymoronical? Do Chaosfags even have proper inheritance in the first place?

>You're not a superhero

That's where you're wrong. When the force of your conviction and piety Literally deflects and diminishes murdermagic, you're a superhero.

Becasue you're a faggot shitposter who should be shot in the kneecaps

You fight so that others don't have to, and the fight never ends. There is no end to evil, tyranny, and the depraved indifference of men and so there's never a reason to put up your sword.

All Tieflings are bastards in their father's eyes.

Until tonight, I hadn't.

Two and a half times a week.

Around once a month on average. Sometimes more, sometimes less

Well, the wrong app kept you occupied at least.

Sounds like a good way to get yourself killed, I'm personally going to fight for my own, and only when I achieve my goals will I hang up the sword or, god willing, teach my sons how to wield it so their sons may learn it too.

Right now, twice a week.

On the same day, thursday.

One irl, one online. Looking for a third group though since I'm DMing both and want to play.

Of course you get yourself killed. That's the only way to go. Be as a storm upon creation and bring ruin to your enemies and blessings to your people and, when your fury is spent, fade away. This is heroism.

Hey /pfg/, wanted to get your opinion on something.

For the Path of War archetypes like Primal Disciple and Myrmidon: Is there any reason why I shouldn't give them full maneuver progression in a game with other full maneuver classes? They don't particularly outshine the main classes in any way with their other class features besides maybe Stalker, but Stalker needs some love too.

Jeez dude, chill out a bit.

Honestly? No, no reason not to. Primal Disciple is especially bad, possibly the worst PoW archetype. As for Myrmidon, I can't think of many reasons at all to take it over a Warder.

Wisdom Based, Fighter Stuff, Archetypes.

Ranged weapon proficiency, unless you're playing a Hawkguard.

Which table for maneuvers and stances known are you going to give them?

Give them full progression.
The two main reasons the archetypes don't have it is:
1) Protecting the identity of full initiators
2) Not making the archetypes too huge of an upgrade for what they trade out

Elric also homeruled that archetypes get warder maneuver progression in his home games (Not an official DSP rule, just a homerule a dev uses)

Still not any better than a Warder, Zealot, arguably Harbinger and Warlord. Only person it might beat out is the Stalker.

Mutation Warrior Myrmidon is the only edge case I can agree on that with, but you'll still burn a lot of feats on Advanced Study at higher levels unless you want to fall behind.

>Hawkguard.
How good is Hawkguard, anyways?
