How does your setting handle Red Light Districts? Are there any renowned prostitutes like Phryne, Cora Pearl, or Catherine Walters?

Amy is NOT a slut.

>How does your setting handle Red Light Districts?
Go to brothel, give money, receive whore.

About the same as any red light district.

Honestly, I just saw a hot anime gif and went with it. I don't even know what franchise she's from.

If the characters want to go whoring, that's fine. Describing things in detail results in the affliction of a disease with character levels. Believe me, a third level bard has a hard time getting laid when he has a case of gonnorhea with 8 antipaladin levels.

>Red Light Districts
Depends on the faction/planet? Luckily, none of my players have gone that route in a game yet. They're way more interested in getting spare parts and armour for their mechs.

Even if we did go through a red light district, I imagine they'd have gone looking for black market contacts to buy explosives, instead.

I have an idea for a brothel for Starfinder when it comes out. Essentially it's a brothel/casino/hotel all in one but rather than focusing on the sex the focus is more on how things are run and done in there as the primary purpose of such establishments is to act as a neutral ground where various organizations that can't be seen talking to each other pass information. Otherwise beyond the dealers being topless it's not overly explicit

Simple

The players are the workers

There's countless offshoots of humanity so I'm sure it's spawned even more new fetishes

That actually begs the question of how much money will people pay to have sex with adventurers if they're famous enough.

I've never actually considered that, mostly because any adventurer I've seen that would be up to that would tend not to ask payment for it.
I'd think it more likely that nobility buy off adventurers to marry themselves or their children. Bolstering the family bloodline and all that. Since it's a political marriage, they may or may not be interested in making sure the adventurer doesn't screw on the side, depending on how inheritance works.

I'd pay to fuck a woman who slew a dragon or some shit. I'd demand some form of proof like a receipt or something though; that's some serious bragging rights shit.
>Yeah, you know Noraleigh, the famous hero who slew the dragon? She sucked my dick.
>"get the fuck out dude"
>dead serious - I took my dragon and I made him spit fire down her throat

who is this semen demon?

Might drop some hetaera-courtesans in one of my empires desu. With rogue and bard class levels, also proficient in hiding halflings.

Because it takes place in a city built on a interdimensional nexus the red light district gets weird. At first glance it's mostly humanoids being payed for sex and standard fare but you can also find bizarre shit like sentient drugs and pretty much any odd fetish under the sun if you look hard enough.

>uggo as op pic

>how does it handle them
It has them and players can visit with a fad to black and random roll to determine how much to be loved for long time.

>renowned prostitutes
Not unless I'm using them as a plotpoint.

Most of the major movers and shakers in the frontier are madams and prostitutes. They make up the richest and usually end up with shadow wars with the local lords. Right now the players are planning on betraying their patron to Madam Honey Dew cause she's easier to work with and has waaaay more money than the Empires lackluster Lord. The Paladin even decided whoring is ok with his God as long as nobody gets hurt.

They are run a centralised guild with a large amount of management and regulations which govern how they operate. They also have a fairly rigorous training and examination process for potential new members.

This is because bureacracy is my fetish

Where is the nose, Scas?

Shockingly lackluster, which is a shame, but the truth sex is a part of life, but it's never touched up upon in D&D to a degree of "There's active lewdness in the background here." You'll get a few half breeds, and the extent of converted deific lore, and the shitalking Vecna does about bedroom fun in the BOVD, but the book of Erotic Fantasy, is in fact, the worst fucking d20 source for D&D based sexual Activity, the book of unlawful carnal knowledge is much better.

At best, PC's will encounter the following sex-related themes-
-Ecology of the Lamia related sexual intercourse
-Orcus Necrophiliacs (There are shitloads of these)
-Basic character races prostitutes, but to note, are of low quality and often disease ridden Ratio is female humans, halflings, male elves and male half-orcs most of the time
-Extraplanar locations offer a more diverse selection, though I'm not one to tally that information in any meaningful pursuit
-Better choices are often found in desert settings with harems
-The Classic D&D orgy rules are present, though difficult to initiate, and have to be performed in places of wealth
-Elven Sexual experimentation phase (this is actually a thing in elf ecology, they'll work through miles of cock and vag respectively at this period.)
Darker establishments often boast ownership of Drow working girls, other other exotic things of such nature
Despite the common opinion, Succubi aren't actually subject to having sex with mortals, and more often than not, are pretty much going to kill you, they're more about torment after all, save for the few of their kind that are with Evil aligned partners that work around the energy drain, or the one from the silver skeleton quest, and you know who the other one is. Succubi are more prone to sex in fits of boredom, or when on their home plane at Malcanthet's layer, or intermingling with Demons for power, and information bartering.
Also, they're actually mediocre partners, which is pretty funny.

-Demons having sex is more of thing they do "because they can", which includes brutal rape, or horrible death of the mother impregnation, but also in the same vein as Iggwilv and Vecna's mother, who literally opened their legs for the abyss to railroad until they became stupid powerful spellcasters.

An important thing to understand about the Denizens Abyss is that they are THAT much more friendly with you when they know what you're doing IS WRONG in any remote sense imaginable, as even doing something logical with them is actually a corruptible, alignment shifting and behavior altering thing, so it's no wonder they're such a problem, so willing sex with them is pretty much the easy way to power if you're female, and there are plenty of Lower planar outsiders willing to participate in "mutal fun" if it means spreading their influence on other planes through offspring, Orcus did it, and he's the better for it. Also, Abyssal values dictate that relationships held ammount to hate-sex, super-brutal-guro, Rape, and a lot of sub/dom based on Demon mentality.

Obryinths are out of the question. It's possible, but no, no and also no, the Pale Night had sex with Nyralathotep and made Graz'zt, and a slew of other horrors in other modules, so that's that.

-Powerful vampires (age category of 500 or more) can have sexual intercourse with the offspring being a Dhampir or Katane, half-vampires respectively, it is completely untouched upon if Vampire variants, bloodlines and the like have any effect on the respective offsprings powers, which is a bothersome issue. To note D&D also has ghouls in the VTMB sense, Vampire issued bloodlines, and the like of classes for vampire servants, next to the existence of Vorlogs and Vampire Bride issued vampires So a relationship with one is either true love, or willing slavery based on whether or not the vampire in question is actually a malignant necromantic intelligence vampire, often represented through it's law/chaos axis

-

-Dragons are Dragons, and to note, it is not bestiality to fuck one, eat shit Vecna you arrested development explosive Lich Autist.
-The ratio of fuckable Kobolds is not what the YIFF COMMUNITY want's you to believe, most of them don't know shit about Kobolds anyway and have little to care for attention to detail. But again, this mixes with the slew of Draconic Degeneracy so it's a subject everyone can know by draconomicon reading, dragon ecology, and probably reading all D&D supplements ever because it's the most overblown extensive subject conceived.

Priestesses in the larger temples in town that accept "donations," encouraged by their religion.

Regular working women hang around seedier parts of town and ply their trade in taverns or gambling dens. Richer people for have access to courtesans or concubines.

This is only true for the civilization that the players are in now, other nations have different customs that I haven't had time to flesh out.

She's from a show called Gargantia that's worth checking out.

Dude who's been raised since birth to be disposable grunt soldier #972727 in an endless spacewar of mutual genocide ends up stuck on a planet the war has somehow overlooked, beyond the lines of communication with friendly forces and with no way back to the front. Armed with only an AI controlled space weapon (which is, by the way, the best character) that has more than enough firepower to conquer the entire planet he is on, he is forced to live among generally chill people that don't even know the space war exists.

This confuses and disgusts him.

The gif in the OP is just some local harvest festival shit they do that involves, among another things, girls bellydancing.

>prostitution in a Drow city

What would that look like? Would it be a mix of both sexes, with the odd freak (eunuch/asexual/intersex/) thrown in? Would it be all men? (prostitution is something so lowborn and crass that only males would stoop to such levels) Would it be all women? (Why would any female pay a male for sex? Clearly only lesbians/other females deserve that kind of respect)

>all dancers are prostitutes
Proof OP is a virgin

Prostitutes will be mentioned, as they are a part of every-day life in any medieval-inspired city. Oldest profession on earth and all that jazz you know? If you want something more classy than the regular streetwalker you need to ask around and know the right people though.

Heck, even hamlets will have a girl or two willing to spread for dat adventurer gold if the going is tough. A starving family can eat well for weeks for what even a fledgling adventurer considers a small amount of dosh

Of course he is a virgin. Is there any user on Veeky Forums that isn't a virgin?

The real question is whether or not OP is a fag.

War of the Spider Queen had it. Female prostitutes were disgraced and longed for death

Back in the Middle Ages, it was very safe to assume dancers would also suck your dick if the money was right.

...

>OP hasn't watched Gargantia
OP confirmed for faggot

TL;dr kys weeb

Low-fantasy settings have RLDs modelled after historical ones or close counterparts, High/Weird-fantasy settings tend to have very unrealistic, ''no-shady-or-depressing-stuff-only-enthusiastic-and-genuinely-slutty-harlots'' kinda pleasure pavilions and hedonistic dens of delight.

Futuristic/Sci-fi-settings don't even have RLDs, instead they tend to have VR-porn, sex-simulations, sexbots, or drugs and activities WAY better than plain old-fashioned and gross copulation.

Smut settings have plain magical-realm-level RLDs but that's a given.

Tell me more.

Prostitutes both male and female exist. Generally nobles have consorts, servants, and concubines to tend to their needs. The lower class make do with prostitutes, who are slaves or lesser nobles who have been utterly disgraced/had their houses destroyed.

One of the 'protagonists' visits one for information, and then as a favor for her/to repay her for the information, he strangles her to death.

No really, she asks for this.

Anyway prostitutes are basically the only outlet males have against females, so as you can imagine, they mostly just get the shit fucking kicked out of them. But you pay by the bruise, and magic/killing is forbidden.

Only if they were boys, user.

To be fair it was expected of any pleb and serf, even when no currency was involved.

pretty safe bet now, too.

Not that user but actors, musicians, travelling performers of any kind were generally considered to be the lowest of the low, and sometimes/often were whores.

As were many wenches, as it was an easy way to earn money just laying on your back, and if you were lucky you got a bed to sleep in.

>To be fair it was expected of any pleb and serf
Now THATS a myth, lords didn't go around raping their serfs

And while this did happen to plebs in Rome, it was generally a source of outrage and often resulted in the offending Equites getting got, at least until the end of the Republic. Emperors could get away with whatever, at least until their guards killed them.

Thanks for the info user!

War of the Spider Queen was actually a pretty good book I recommend it.

IDK about the rest of the series.

Is there anyplace I can download it as an ebook (without using torrents) or read it online as a pdf, for free?

It's PLAUSABLE though

>t. Mythbusters

Fuck dem books

We weren't talking about anime, senpai. We're talking about historical dancers, actresses and singers in the Middle Ages.

In fact, let's take a step older and consider how prositutes were a lucrative, and in many ways major, source of income for taverns. They'd rent a bed and do their business in it, and if they were good and/or beautiful that meant a lot of people coming in for beer and blowjobs. Hell, Empress Theodora was once a dancer, and Procopius (if that little shit can be believed) off-hand comments how that means she was gagging on cock before she was 12.

>book opens with two drow who were friends

You knew goddamn well how that was gonna end.

Isn't that a loli vampire?

...

Only some of the time. Other times she's a hot vampire.

>Hot vampire
>Loli vampire

You make it seem like these are mutually exclusive.

Dancer or actor pretty much did mean they were available for sexual services in that culture at that time. Procopius exaggerates, but that is true.

In Vyronas, the junior priestesses rest in the shadow of the temple and will sleep with you for eight silver coins or the root from a witch-flower. Afterwards, they'll watch over you by your shadow and an ash tree will grow in the place where you die.

In the Gorgon Cities adultery is punishable by death, but you can buy a marriage of ten minutes and the great marketplaces are heaving with beggar priests and sellers of the flesh.

This is not my magical realm but I still find it amusing

NO PROSTITUTES, ACTORS, OR UNCLEAN TRADESMEN MAY ATTEND

I hear being a male stripper is awful compared to being a female one because unlike male viewers who get the "Look don't touch" part, the woman behave horribly and will randomly tug at your genitals and throw drinks trying to make you look sexier.

sounds about right

Really makes you think about the social power of the genders, doesn't it?

You are correct. Objectification is intensely magnified in that career.

Within most of my settings Red Light Districts exist and for the most part most nobody bats an eye. Everyone acknowledges there is a market for sex and as much as many of the churches decry this many of the governments are either unwilling or simply unable to stop the oldest profession.

If the PCs want to buy some sexy times they usually can but they should not expect me to narrate it beyond the removal of an article of clothing.

drunk women are the most destructive force on the planet

All most players want to hear is how fat the whore's breasts are, as long as you mention that than you're doing good.

Give one a bit of beer in college and you're ruining some poor man's life when the accusations come out.

>How does your setting handle Red Light Districts?
Like in the Middle Ages; outside the city walls, (at least in the regions where monsters aren't common/do not get razed by orc riders or frost giants every year), size ranging from a single house to a whole district which businesses run around the whoring thing. A medic/healer visits the girls once every one or two weeks to make sure they're ok, and at least a cleric of the main local cults that pays a visit every seven days to hear them out. People think bad the prostitutes and consider them sinners/plague vectors/whatever, but authorities mostly consider all the thing a necessary evil for social stability.

>Are there any renowned prostitutes like Phryne, Cora Pearl, or Catherine Walters?
Probably, I haven't fleshed that out yet.

I legalize and tax the shit out of that.

Nobody complains because a good portion of the taxes goes into making sure each and every prostitute is wearing an enchanted bellybutton piercing that prevents conception. They also wear an enchanted nose piercing that prevents/cures diseases/infections. Not just for them, but also whoever they are having sex with.

The punishment for being caught not wearing either of these is quite severe. The worst is if you infected even a single person with any kind of disease/infection while working as a prostitute then both you and your pimp have your nose cut off and spend the rest of your lives doing hard labor.

The punishment for conceiving a child while being a prostitute is much less severe. You get fined a full years ages (just how much you make is taken into consideration) and if you don't abort the fetus then the newborn child is taken away and raised in an orphanage while both biological parents lose any and all legal rights to him/her. Up to and including having them as an heir in case any of your legitimate children/relatives die. So there is no "long lost heir" scenarios.

One bad plague that my country survived relatively unscathed and no NPC has ever complained about prostitution being legal ever again.

Those items seem like they'd be really useful for everyone not just prostitutes.

>muh piercing fetish

Fuck off degenerate. Nose rings are especially shit.

I'm gonna be completely honest. In one chunk of the setting it's run by the Seamstresses' Guild because my party doesn't know any better.

What were the most exotic races your players slept with? Did anything special come out of it like a long term mariage?

Yes, they are incredibly useful. Unfortunately, they are even more expensive than they are useful. So the only real way to get your hands on a large quantity of them is to tax the shit out of something.

Vetinari, please.

Didn't end up sleeping with her but I did have a character who was engaged to a gryphon. We were waiting on proper polymorph spells to get down to business.

That was a weird series of events.

The most exotic? That would have to be a hamadryad, which is about as exotic as an oddly colored humanoid woman with foliage features.

100

My most recent character was actually a prostitute!

She's a Drow rogue, extremely popular and expensive because it's a human city, and she's seen as exotic and unusual.

>We were waiting on proper polymorph spells
Pussy. If you're a true man, then its your duty to please your lady regardless of her base form. Waiting around for magical aids to do your job is for whiny limp-wristed nu-males and faggots.

Now stop whining, and get her riding that mustache

I can hear the fat on your neck through this post.

How many humans has she murdered?

My setting is verbatim 15th century HRE so I don't actually know what kind of "red light districts" there were.

How is your setting that VERBATIM and you don't know that?

I once played a sorcerer who ended up in a romantic relationship with a medusa. Though it was sweet while it lasted, it ended very badly. Being associated with one of the PCs tends to bring a lot of pain with it, in this case even more than what a medusa normally has to deal with. They parted with her saying she never wanted to see him again.

Trying to find a way to reconcile with her became one of my character's main motivations, but sadly the campaign fizzled out before that could happen.

>SENMETSU

>red light district

>In a children's game.

I never researched it.

Me again, I guess there were civic brothel districts in urban settings, and outside townships and in roadhouses and inns.

I once gave my players the opportunity to work as prostitutes themselves. I dislike to include prostitutes in my games as it is both demeaning and sexist all to hell and a subject that is not even fun to deal with fictionally. That did not prevent my players from looking for brothels and prostitutes in every city, village or any place inhabited by more than two people at once.
Needless to say, I object to this but the players want to "stay in character" and I can't really argue that a bunch of mercenary soldiers would look for prostitutes, so if they rolled high enough, I'd let them find some girls but made sure to tell them how downtrodden, depressed and reluctant the girls looked. Not that it prevented my players form abusing the girl.
Then I hatched a plan where I made sure the players where low on cash at the same time as a warband of huge barbarian women was in the area. The barbarians had just returned from a long adventure, sweaty, dirty and smelly but loaded with gold and loot, looking for mead and "romance". The plan was to show the players how demeaning and humiliating it is to have huge, smelly drunk strangers harass, hit on you and offer you money for sexual services.
Things did not exactly turn out as planned and now my players spend more time looking for barbarian women and amazon warrior bands than looking for brothels.
