Any reason not to Ynnari if I want to play DEldar but with Walkers n shit

Reposting this from the last thread, because I liked it. To the user who posted it, is this something original, or in the fluff?

Please dont remind me of the Boyz we lost along the way user.... I want Wazdakka and Zogwart back something fierce

Rack of Rokkits just sounds too cool to be a 2 shot Rokkit

I didn't have options to play iron hands back in 5th edition, but that changed. But that also changed back to not having options again.

At least I can use chronus again.

Not really. You can't take haemonculus covens units or mandrakes, both of which are very good, but you more than make up for it with Eldar walkers.

Imagine replacing your entire army of Boys because they released a new Ork boy model that wasn't squatting.

...

If I just want to add one assasin to my IOM army, do I need to go the -1cp route with an auxiliary support detachment?

Imagine if I bashed your head in with a rock

No, you can add it to any of the detachments you already have if it fits in there, since all of your units probably have the Imperium Faction keyword.

Wrote it myself. Three separate Haiku arranged as a collective of three.

Thank you, battlescribe confused me.

It shouldn't affect probabilitees at all if I roll Armor/Invul saves before Toughness & Damage right?

Looking for a bit more realism in mah Swa 'n stuff

>mfw GW release non gorilla-butts boys
I want to play Orks so much but the boys models are just terrible

You mean like Age of Sigmar did to Ork players?

All the "orruks" in AoS got bigger, and better armored. They dwarf the shit out of original orks now.

Orruk Warboss, Orruk Nob, Orruk boy, 40k Ork Nob, 40k Ork Boy.

Nth for Red \=\ Peach

Rules question I am unsure about:

What is the exact interaction between the Act of Faith Hand of the Emperor (Move as if it were the Movement Phase) and Heavy weapons?

Can a squad...

1) HotE (only Move), stand still in Movement Phase and then fire a Heavy weapon without penalty?

2) HotE (Advance), stand still in Movement Phase and then still fire a Heavy weapon (without penalty even)?

The BRB only says about Heavy weapons: 'If a model with a Heavy weapon moved in its preceding Movement phase, you must subtract 1 from any hit rolls made when firing that weapon this turn.'

Strictly speaking the unit did not move in its preceding Movement Phase, so that clause does not apply.

The ruling is clearer on Assault weapons, there it says: 'A model with an Assault weapon can fire it even if it Advanced earlier that turn. If it does so, you must subtract 1 from any hit rolls made when firing that weapon this turn'

"Earlier this Turn" covers the AoFs as well. The question is then whether "start of your turn" already covers your Movement Phase even when you have to resolve something before making any movement.

>Orruk boy
Wait a minute isn't that just a Black Orc from Fantasy

won't work if there's any sort of rending like ability.

The size of orks are fine being all squatty.

Da smaller, runtier boyz are meant ta' be the sponges.

Cool

Yeah, Black Orcs aren't as hard as Orruks, so they became normal boyz to them. Normal Ork Boyz are even worse.

Everyone wants to be an Orruk

you can fire normally because you did not move in your movement phase.

It may be FAQ'd, because who knows what the intent was there. It doesn't say anywhere when "start of turn" abilities trigger. It used to be at the start of the move phase, but it no longer specifies.

My take on it is that Acts of Faith occur at the start of your turn in an undefined phase that isn't the movement phase. So for heavy weapons:

You can move (but not advance) with no penalty during the act of faith, for heavy weapons.

Reminder we also lost Grukk. Orks literally only have Snikrot (non HQ), Ghazzy (faction leader with ancient model), Zagstrukk, Badrukk and grotsnik.
Orks have fewer named characters than tau now. It's one thing when new armies like AdMech have limited named characters, but orks are the tied oldest army in the fucking game and we have 5 fucking named characters. At least Eldar get to keep their 2nd ed sculpt phoenix lords, imagine if they were just all removed one day.

Very nice stuff user.

That's not how it is. All orcs are now Orruks.
From my understanding, it goes like this
>Ironjaws: Biggest and Baddest of the Orruks
>Bonesplitterz: Savage Orruks who are completely insane
>Greenskinz: Regular old Orruks

Was sad when Old Zogwort and Wazzdakka left, now my Grukk model is just there to look like a cool Warboss.

They at least need to give us Nazdreg or some other named Big Mek.

Does this mean I should hold off on Primaris space sharks?

Maybe limit your space shark primaris to characters.

>YFW Chenkov returns in the 8th codex

I was about to buy grukk to use as himself or as a standard warboss, like how I use Zhadsnark, but when they removed his rules I really began to wonder what the point was.

spoonfead me pls

If I wanted to get a case for the Dark Imperium box models, what is my best option?

>Greenskinz: Regular old Orruks
Which are being squatted and replaced.

Just like how old dwarf stuff became the "dispossessed" and have been replaced by steampunk kharadron overlords, and naked fyreslayers.

Looks to me like he's giving it (Primaris Carcharodons) a go with that "ability to gene-forge them" line. Not that canon should stop you from a cool scheme or anything.

I too was thinking of painting a Primaris Marine or two as a Carcharodon.

anyways these Reiver guys, it's like GW is specifically tailoring things to make me specifically want to buy something, because I have an unnatural hard-on for cheesy skull masks. It's so hilarious but I love it.

His model really is fantastic, he's enormous

>via certain other contacts
carcharadons confirmed for becoming traitors

Starting to move from 1000 to 1500 points. List feedback welcome. TRYING to avoid the conscript meme in favor of an organized regiment, but I get the feeling I'll end up taking them sooner or later.

Really, wondering if I should drop the 4th TC in favor of more infantry. Maybe even upgrade the platoon commanders to company commanders and build a third Battalion. That would leave me with 3x3 infantry platoons, the elite platoon, and a triple tank armored platoon.

Dang, user, looks sick

Honestly, the loss of Grukk confuses me. It seems to me that they really pushed him as the face of Orks 7th edition, giving him a decent statline, some good-ish formations, and a focus in the campaign they did, even giving him a general release due to popular demand. Just to quietly drop him off without even a proper send-off like straight up dying like he was reported to, it just doesn't seem right. It's beguiling. Now that you've put it in the sense that Orks now have less named characters than Tau I'm even more irked.

Also still kind of mad that there's no Looted Wagon rules again.

Looks good. I use bloodbowl Orcs for my nobz and meganobz, no reason to use orklets.

Why? Sounds like they'll be getting them they're just grown in house.

Think they're only putting rules in for what was in the codex. Since Looted Wagons were only released as a White Dwarf exclusive so I doubt it crossed their minds to put it in.

because they wanted to provide a 'baseline' ruleset. in the ork dex there will be rules for more and all you mentioned

Good, GW needs to put Fantasy out of its misery. It breaks my heart to see empire state troops on rounds.

Calling it now: 9th edition will remove all non-primaris marine models and statlines, upgrade all special characters to primaris and tell you to fuck off.

It's very likely that we'll get looted wagons in chapter approved, what else is CA there for? Some anons pointed out that they might do a GSC on them, and give out a vehicle conversion sprue and an "official" looted wagon, to maintain IP strength and prevent another chapterhouse, as GW does know the looted wagon is a fan favourite.
I'm just hoping the next ork codex is a proper big one with a big release, not just a rules patch.

And they still wouldn't have new sculpts for Astra Militarum baseline troopers which was the real problem of the scale of Space Marines.
Oh, they're releasing codexes after? Didn't know that. Like actual codexes or just Datasheets for new and returning units?

came late to other bread repeating

I'm a student with VERY little money to spend, and I need a carry case for my army 2kish dark angels, what do I get?

>Aeldari first Xenos codex out

The leg poses are so shit though.

Large Toolbox

I'd say it's the angle, they're supposed to be striding forwards, and that always looks weird from head on.

I dont think its the legs so much as the Torso positioning, they look like they're twisting their entire torsos to look at something

Don't I need a lot of foam for that still? Here in Sweden the foam racks up to the same cost as a GW bag

Get like a tackle box for fishing.Or frugal jerk it with some cardboard and cotton.

Whipped up something

That contradicts the other "leaker" who posted at the same time and said marine codex in August
Now what seems likelier...?

I would be as keen as the glorious rise of the working class

if you're concerned about that then Id recommend buying some foam from a craft/hardware store. Or you could buy a large tackle box, most of them have slots where you can put individuals in that are normally used for keeping lures separate

it literally says they are getting primaris, just not through mars

It's the thin legs "stripped down armor" crap.
They're still gonna be 3+, why bother.
Inb4 MV7"

Look up Feldherr foam. Shit's real cheap.

SoB getting anything.

user I've been waiting for something since WH. I simply can't believe that.

Actual codexes. Memes on Veeky Forums aside they've stated this officially.

But user, marine codex is already in that. Which seems likelier, GW waiting to push marines out in August, or releasing the Primaris Marine codex in July and pushing new models?

GW
A) push old marine dex out for shit people has
B) push exclusively new marine models + dex out for shit people don't have, like new dred and skimmer etc.

And people will both defend them and buy their armies all over again.

Wrong picture, user.

I'd agree with in that they'll probably be more limited.

I was more thinking that they're less likely to have a full army's worth and will probably have more specialist squads. I'm really digging the idea of Primaris carcharodon terminators with lightning claws.

Large tool/tacklebox with different sized compartments and then add a little dirt cheap foam from a hobby store or something. Done.

If you can't get foam, thin cardboard is fine. You can even just put cloth down if you must.

Friendly Reminder that due to negligence on GW's part, Skimmers without the Hovering rule cannot be assaulted as they often overhang their bases by more than an inch (and likewise cannot assault). Make sure you mount those bad boys on drone bases lads and have fun with your impenetrable skimmer wall

It means the author knows he will get shit canned if he says NO NEVER EVER to GWs new golden calf. GW let's them take liberties, but never at the extent of closing an avenue of profit. But don't worry, ol' Robbie will shoe horn in some bullshit "but they have SUPER SECRET SPIES on MARS" paragraph or two next book.

Thanks brothers I will look into these

Friendly reminder if someone tries to pull this call them an autist and exit the gaming establishment

>overhang their bases by more than an inch
So what? move models under them.

>Gulliman knows Cawl has made Primaris from all 20 Founding Chapters
>They're currently all out there fighting

When Brother Anchorus of the Ultramarines realizes the new guy he's fighting alongside has Luna Wolf geneseed things are going to break down REALLY quickly.

There are uses for non-primaris marines, just as there are uses for 1st ed marines. Rebase them to be standing on rocks and they would blend in near perfectly, especially if you have the primarines' heads and shoulders kitbashed. Using them as scouts or Neophytes also works perfectly well, and helps differentiate them. Or you could just stop being a bitch and proxy, and that will probably be the official recommendation, as by then they'll have renamed primaris marines to space marines.

Hey I'm as unhappy about it as you are friend, it means I have to disembark from my venom at its base rather than its nose like every edition prior to this one because they forgot a rule.

i guess it depends on how much they are paying fabius bile for them, since they are traitors anyway

I've emailed FW for clarifications on Reneged and Heretics transports and Medusas
also on weapon options for Hellforged contemptors.

Will post response if they ever get back to me (probably in the next couple of days)

DO other people contact Gdubs for rules clarification or do you guys just post here?

Friendly reminder that anyone actually forbidding you from charging a skimmer because of this is by definition a person you should not play with under any circumstances.

>proxy
Who's the bitch now?

Oh man - I'm sure you really believe this is the way that was supposed to be played. What a good catch, you're so smart. Guess we'll just have to play entirely against any thing approaching common sense until we get an FAQ.

>Luna Wolves
>Thousand Sons
>Word Bearers

Not like people in 40k know what a Luna Wolf is or what legions were traitors

Well, I just see this as a prime opportunity to use Exalted Sorcerer parts on my starter set Primaris marines. And, hoo boy, there's a Primaris Librarian coming. Good times.

Can't wait for my Thousand Chads to bully some Yifflets.

Imagine playing in a game system where shit like this happens.

Imagine a system where RAI has to exist because RAW isn't good enough.

How many other game systems need scholars to figure out the intent of the rules because they're too sloppily written to be taken at face value?

Post uncontroversial opinions. I'll start.

>Power levels > Dorkazoid points

Are you within 1" of the base? That's the rule friendo

How many of those games are popular enough to routinely have 80+ play events?

Of course I don't want this to happen friendalino, upon finding out I let my friends know I'll be house ruling that any skimmers have the hovering rule to avoid such situations.

>They're currently all out there fighting
>When Brother Anchorus of the Ultramarines realizes the new guy he's fighting alongside has Luna Wolf geneseed things are going to break down REALLY quickly.

You know they don't just mix primaris of different seed in with existing chapters yeah?

Primaris that have roboute's geneseed go to fight for the ultramarines or one of their successor chapters and etc.

Those chapters that were destroyed and excommunicated as traitors I imagine they send them to the Deathwatch - DW need primaris too after all,

shit tier bait famalam

Arguments of common sense are jogging but bitching, if there's nothing to prevent me from taking multiple Celestines then I'm taking multiple Celestines.

Did you know - every major tournament will do the same thing.

Actually no. The Raider, for example, has a rule specifically stating that you measure distances to and from the hull, not the base.

Warmahordes has very tightly written rules which do not need interpreting. It doesn't really have FAQs, it just has errata released now and then to change rules for balance.

>How many other game systems
All of them. Every single one.

Lord of the rings was.
