Fantasy art makes me yearn for what I cannot have.

Bumping

I hate that its so hard to impress how cool environments like this are on a top-down map.

Looks like something outta RCT2

Amazing thread! Keep up the good work!

Where the hell does that river flow from?

...

...

just a guess - higher altitude means colder temperatures means moisture precipitates more readily on that central rock spire, then flows down to the stream.

obviously the artist rule-of-cool'd it, but it could actually be plausible.

Magic.

Hey, that's a real place.

Wouldn't look out of place in a fantasy story, though.

>casting stone-to-flesh on an entire fucking city
who and why

You ain't seen nothing yet, boyo.

Is there a story behind this or did someone just really want to illustrate a planet turning into meat for no good reason

If there is a story I don't know it.

It's like if Beksinski and Bocklin had a baby, and that baby was untalented and unoriginal.

Great thread.

Does anyone have any sort of diesel punk or steampunk cities that aren't too fantastical?

This is still probably my comfiest picture.
