Justifying Magical Realms thread

I'll start. qt girls in nice shiny plate. Not "had to grab the armor 'cause there's no men left to swing a sword" but nice, sweet, waifu-worthy girls in fancy armor.

Easy. The girls are the princess's royal guard/tutors. They protect her, even at formal affairs (where they need armor that's as spiffy and dressy as it is protective.) But they also tutor her in how to be a lady.

The lady-knights are true ladies *and* true knights. They know just as much about the correct way to set out a four-course meal, or how to properly address the thirty-third earl of whatever dutchy as they do about hacking and slashing.

You could even have a mix of ages. Teen-level ladyknights offer a peer-level friend who the princess could go do girl stuff with, but are already fully vetted for security, older onee-chan type figures who'll teach the girl how to be a woman, and a few older matronly woman who'll put the finishing touches and bring the wisdom of the ages.

cool... but you're supposed to post something of your own.

postan some more qt knights

Alternately, you could have them as some form of royal bodyguard for the *prince.* Tap into that maternal instinct and they'll fight twice as hard to protect their charge, and classical methods of seduction won't work on ladyknights. You also have some /ss/ action with the tender knight teaching the prince the ways of love.

I suddenly had the mental image of a handful of amazonian women in gleaming plate hiding behind a bush, fighting over the one spyglass as they observe the prince's date. Occasionally, he'll find a way to excuse himself from his lady, dart over to the Fully Armored Bush and ask for a bit of advice.

Alternately alternately, make them all lesbian? Or make them all lesbian, but don't tell anyone and put them as guards for people you don't entirely trust. You might be able to play a "she seduced me!" "Ha! I was gay the whole time!" ploy, but that would only work once.

can't really. ladyknights is my thing too, soooooooo~

These threads force me to accept that Veeky Forums will always have its population of cringe-inducing idiots with no sense of self-awareness.

They're counselors. After a particularly harrowing war with multiple PTSD cases, the army decided to commission a unit of therapists. They do medic work when there's nothing else to do, but their main job is to keep an eye on mental stability. They're women in armor to act as a sort of midway between hardened veteran and ignorant civilian, so the soldiers don't worry so much about accidentally harming the person they're talking to. They're also trained a little bit in actual combat to understand the soldiers better and because the last bunch of therapists got slaughtered in the war.

>really long hair in combat, whether male or female. The kind where even a ponytail is impractical.

Balkans: Sworn virgins allow the women to swear off womanhood and become men, which means they can be knights.

Israel: Women teach men how to fight before they go off into battle due to a tragic loss of knowledge in previous wars. Then you can say they keep the peace locally.

The women are sterile, so there's no reproductive reason to keep them safe at home.

Reality-warping: Women and men are not sexually dimorphic in terms of upper-body strength, so they are just as capable as fighting as men are.

I may have a fetish for Centaur, so they're almost always present in my campaigns, but never in a way that feels forced.

To expand on the above with my own fetishes, ladyknights. Lady knights who kick ass. While having one or more buns in the oven at all times.

My fetish is the rape and mind break of warrior women into willing harem girls/sex slaves.

Good fucking luck thinking up a justification for that, Veeky Forums

I think I read something about being empowered BECAUSE of the pregnancy.

But do note that that would make your giant belly a glaring weakness.

>I may have a fetish for Centaur, so they're almost always present in my campaigns, but never in a way that feels forced.

Not quite related, but let Centaurs haul the heavy weapons. Everyone except the US was still using horse-drawn armies all the way up to the end of WWII (even the famed nazi Mechanized War Machine was mostly horse-driven.) And horses are *dumb.* But if they can understand small-unit tactics and carry heavy weaponry, they start to seem a bit less dumb.

Plus, you can work in some cool centaur-rider dynamics. Give each centaur a rider who services their gun like in pic related, and generally acts as a squire to the centaur. She's got a big body to maintain, and a lot of her armor/gear would be hard to get into without help. So naturally her squire/rider/loaded knows her body intimately.

the sticking point with centaurs is the spine. Someone pointed out that the spine causes multiple issues, including back breaking, too much turbulence at the front of a horse gallop that makes any sort of accuracy at speed non-existent, and being a very large target in general.

Paladins of a fertility goddess maybe? Divine magic that protects the child, so the belly only needs to be as armored as the rest of her body. Hell, if you add in some magic/blessings that let the paladins *hold* their pregnancies, it gives you a reason for their bellies to always look almost ready to drop.

A paladin's unborn child won't die while she lives. But if she's struck down, she's gonna have to deliver her child on the spot, and make her last dying act to bring new life into the world. To make sure that happens, she's gonna wanna keep what's in her womb as close to full-term as possible so there's no premature issues.

If only the Centaur in that picture wasn't a worst gender.

The warrior women are evil and thus turing them to sex makes the world a safer place. You are really a hero when you think about it.

Then shoot 'n scoot.

It wasn't until the 80's that tanks could shoot on the move, but just being able to haul a GPMG or anti-tank rifle or something without being winded is really convenient. Most weapons of that class take a few guys to carry around, which slows down how quickly you can set them up before use.

I have nothing to contribute, so have a roman ladyknight.

>really long hair in combat

Tribal warrior culture who see uncut hair as a badge of honor/skill? Cliche I know, but it's what comes to mind.

Evil black guard rapist with ritual mind magic. The ritual is sexual. Still fucked up, but theoretically possible to include in a game depending on who you are with.

Kinda can't be done for unbirthing. You can sorta manage it, maybe, but the result is so obviously a /d/ setting that any rationalization, no matter how sensible it is on its own terms, looks like a flimsy justification for indulging the fetishes of the creator.

For example, you could have the capacity for unbirthing arise as the result of the premature release, and unintended spread, of a gene therapy agent intended to improve women's health; it was intended to make pregnancy and childbirth safe, convenient, and painless, but it overshot the mark, conferring an absurdly elastic reproductive system on the women exposed to it. (This change in elasticity had few effects on the lives of most of the afflicted, because it was rarely relevant to their day-to-day lives. However, a small minority of altered women developed strange, deviant sexual tastes...) This is sort of vaguely plausible, but it's so obviously a fetish thing that the attempt at plausibility is totally irrelevant.

then at least make it an interesting and well-fleshed-out fetish setting!

Area used to be an active frontier/warzone. People war select pieces of armor and carried weapons just as a matter of course and the tradition continues to this day. The area has calmed down a lot thought, so comfort/style is a bigger portion than it used to be even though it's still very functional compared to the closing worn elsewhere.

Is this thread dead?

Basically, unless you want to participate, broheim

Meh, it's different if it's already a common and accepted part of the setting and it just happens to float your boat.

Which assumes, rather naively I think, that it's just a standard horse body with a human top half grafted onto its neck. It's quite likely based on observed behaviors that their anatomy is quite different.

Eh, I run a lot of Eldritch/Fungal stuff in my games. Getting drug into a chamber and dissolved for your genetic materials wouldn't stick out if you were dealing with Mi-Go to begin with.

Why would you need to justify perfectly logical consequences to being a female warrior?

>Tentacles
>Monsters
>Corruption
>Pregnancy

Women, being crucibles of the soul tend to be targetted by demons and spirits more than men. Some spirits seek to prolong their existence by binding their essence into vessels of flesh. Women tend to be gifted with more magical power if they grant such boons to the spirits. By indulging spirits and demons in exchange for power, the soul in turn becomes attuned to the spirits essence, in a way corrupting it. Those overcome by such corruption find their bodies and minds warped by the power, becoming demons.

Veeky Forums made a class like that already, as a matter of fact:

img.fireden.net/tg/image/1447/44/1447445719820.pdf

Took me forever to find, for some reason.

...You know, that's a good point. I'll think about this some more. Do you think the gene-therapy-gone-wrong idea is a good one? I had also thought of unbirthing as the punishment you're likely to get for breaking a contract with certain succubi (the ones that get off on it, of course): "obey the terms or she'll engulf you and hold you in her womb for an indeterminate and possibly very, very long time." (It's surprisingly comfortable, actually, and almost soothingly peaceful... but it's still a cell, and you're not leaving until you've done your time.)

my magical realm is one where someone gives a shit that I exist and also isn't repulsed by me. It isn't justifiable, sorry. Under no circumstances would that ever happen.

Given that my fetish is muscle girls and such, any female character of a martial class is a stealth (or not so) trip to my magical realm.

Alien-infested women with repurposed vaginas.

It's probably unavoidable to keep it a little /d/ when you're going so far, though. Like, there are lots of ways to include gays in your game, but if you actually want to narrate the buttstuff, it'll be pretty darn gay. You need to be able to skip the porn, otherwise everything gets tainted and becomes porn.

If your fetish actually requires a relatively normal woman to gobble someone up with her relatively normal vagina and then literally un-age them as they get un-birthed, then yeah, you're fucked.

Ah, well, I'm more on the loving, consensual, not-at-all fatal side of things. Almost completely vanilla apart from unbirth, actually, which is somewhat inconvenient, because you never see any unbirth stuff that doesn't come with a side of, say, furry futa cockvore.

You might find this interesting:

goblinpunch.blogspot.com/2017/05/wombs-and-witch-kites.html

>The part of the uterus that collects the incipient soul is called the perimetrium. This is why different sexual positions can affect the nature of the resultant creature--different positions affect the sacred geometry of the perimetrium, which likewise affects the characteristics of the souls it is able to attract (or retain).

>For example, it is known that those conceived in the rear mount position are predisposed towards shamelessness, vandalism, and scurvy. This is why the Church discourages it.

>There is even the chance of entrapping 'souls' that are not human souls at all, and are incompatible with the other souls and tissues. These are spirits, demons, angels, and all the sundry pseudofauna of the ethereal plane. Accidental incorporation is the prime cause of stillbirths and birth defects, and it is why such things are quickly burned and buried.

>More than any of the body's organs--except for the brain--the uterus touches on the ethereal plane.

>A uterus is an immensely powerful tool in the hands of a witch. Like all tools, it can be turned from its original purpose (receiving godly souls sent by Zulin) and towards darker intentions. It can be a net used to capture spirits. It can be a sieve to sift through them. It can even be a garrote, or a scalpel.

For centaurs to look likey they are usually decipted as, you'd have to have an almost 90 degree bend in their spines, which causes quite a lot of problems. But really, there's a ton of more ridiculous fantasy creatures nobody bats and eye at.

>I had also thought of unbirthing as the punishment you're likely to get for breaking a contract with certain succubi

I had a thought of succubi unbirthing people to turn them into demons. Following the whole "demons can't create life, only corrupt it" logic. In order to create more demons, succubi would seduce people, consume them, corrupt their soul and rebirth them in a demonic body.

>bikini armor
Enchanting has become so powerful you don't need much to be able to have a full shield spell that encompasses the whole body. Thus merchants use less material so they can make the most profit.
>slime girls
Simply carnivores who trick men into getting eaten by them by looking like women, just like Sirens.

A 90-degree bend in an Earth creature's spine would be a huge problem because we're all basically built around photoshop warps of the basic fish fish skeleton, no bullshit. Once nature picks a design, nature tends to stick to it.

A fantasy creature, though, would be under no such limitations. A centaur might have 1 spine, or 2. Or two main spines and several sub-spines elsewhere. And God only knows where the lungs are. In short, it's gonna be weird in there and it's not going to look anything like a human and equine xray were taped on top of each other.

Could be a super strict society.
Noble women can't go out without guardians.
But a man can't be trusted with a noble girl/woman because there myght be virginity.-threatening shenanigans. hence elite female guardians rasied from birth to undying loyalty towards their designated lady.

I used that plot device, slightly modified for a campaign where one of the players played a female harem guard.

My fetish is sacred prostitutes.

I have no trouble fitting it into my campaigns.

>Women, being crucibles of the soul tend to be targetted by demons and spirits more than men. Some spirits seek to prolong their existence by binding their essence into vessels of flesh. Women tend to be gifted with more magical power if they grant such boons to the spirits.
There is an RPG somebody made online that runs on that idea. Some women have the ability to let spirits (which are what power all magic in the setting) enter their womb, allowing the spirit to be born with a physical form. In exhange the spirit lends the woman its powers, granting her powerful magical abilities.

My setting is millions of subservient monsters who wish to please me in any way they can.

I literally just self insert as my settings prime evil. It's that easy.

*My fetish is

Glasses girls.

Er, this gets into the "there are twenty million flavors of vore" thing, but I don't care for de-aging, transformation, rebirth, absorption, digestion, or any suggestion of a maternal relationship; just imagine a sex act that resides at the logical terminus of a trend line that originates at fisting, tied to sentiments along the lines of "being curled up inside the womb of a person who loves me is fun/highly lewd/soothing + having my lover curled up inside my womb is pleasurable/romantic/quite possibly the most feminine thing that could ever happen/lewd/somehow reassuring, though I don't know why; it also gives me a really cute round pregnant belly." In the terms of your post, this is obligate porn, so it's hard to use it in world-building.

...I don't know why I find this sexy
and I wish I didn't. Fetishes make no sense.

Back in On-Topic Land, here's a setting detail I thought but currently have no use for. It's not my magical realm but it might be someone else's.

Two fertility goddesses, sisters, both good and kind. The younger sister is a "normal" fertility goddess, who brought forth humanity and many animals, and ensures that the land remains bountiful; the elder sister is a more Lamashtu-like character filled with the primal, inchoate force of Life itself, and she brought forth alien, incomprehensible creatures of fearsome power, no two of them alike. For a time there was peace, and the progeny of the two sisters lived in harmony, but eventually the offspring of the eldest began to prey on humanity, which was helpless before them. The younger sister was distraught, and begged her sibling for help, lest humanity and the creatures of the world as we know them be driven to extinction, but the elder sister was deeply reluctant use any sort of force against her own children. She tried to sway them with every sort of persuasion, argument, and even trickery, to no avail.

Your first mistake was in using the word "justify". I don't have to justify my fetishes being in my world at all, I just have to make sure that you don't realize they're my fetish.

Ever read Cthon by Piers Anthony?

Does just that.

>Fully armored women except with zettai ryouiki
I don't even like slut armor

Oh I know that one - I lead to creation of some decent art and funny stories.
Also I think it's name is Maiesta RPG

Titanades from John Varley's Titan series are cartilaginous creatures, much like sharks, and as a result can do things horses cannot - like twist their heads 180 degrees, and climb trees.

I'm trying to incorporate it into a campaign im writing, that mechanically supports the themes of corruption and degradation. There is a very important reason as to why spirits and demons seek to corrupt the souls of mortals, and why they're obsessed with prolonging their existence.

Only when the creatures of the world were pushed to the brink of extinction did she relent and join the other gods in exterminating her children.

Since then, the eldest sister hasn't given birth to anything at all. Her womb is still an alien primordial soup of terrifying potential; the essence of life itself still surges powerfully throughout her; monsters churn within her, waiting to be born. She will not bear them. She is a melancholy, scarred goddess.

The younger sister has many worshippers, with many shrines, temples, and priests; cheery festivals are held in her honor, and she is celebrated in art and song. When she appears in mortal guise, she takes the form of a ribald, earthy woman with a jolly demeanor.

The eldest sister has no shrines, temples, priests, or festivals. There are many stories about her, but they are told like rumors or faerie tales, passed from person to person informally. Places touched by her are said to grow in strange, unearthly ways. She is a fierce, stalwart guardian of freaks, exiles, and lost children, and her (rare) supplicants most often ask her for protection from wild things. She adopts the form of a tall, statuesque woman with a very gravid belly and an eerie, unsettling sort of beauty; her manner is slow, poised, deliberate, and socially inept.

Monstertown

A city ruled by a matriarchal council made of representatives of different races/tribes. They're all there: Cute Kobolds, muscular Orcs, pseudo-penissed Gnolls, lithe Catfolk, femme fatale vampires, powerful dragons, femdom Drow, and any other race or being that's normally antagonistic. The regular races, humans, dwarves elves, etc. are vastly outnumbered, and those that aren't members of some tribe or whatever are usually slaves.

It's from that pool that the council buys individuals to use as arbitrators in their hodgepog city, because using their own followers would no doubt lead to conflict. Now, they just attempt to backstab each other and either force the arbitrators to do their bidding, or curry favour with them through rewards, and even promises of power and freedom. The arbitrators themselves can enforce something approaching a rule of law in the city, but are still slaves.

Sometimes representatives of the outside world come to Monstertown to parlay. Out of habit and preference, the negotiations tend to get physical.

Justify magical realm?

Hrm.

>elf slaves

God of humanity cursed the elven people after they crusaded from the Faerie Realm one time too many and he finally, even for a god, had had enough. This of course led to a godswar, and the lone human god was slain by the elven gods, but what one god does another may not undo, and the curse manifested by destroying the Wild Hunt and rendering elves easily enslavable because they had the will to fight back torn from them.

Too many gods of love, fertility and vice populate the setting, and the accursed Ron Jeremy was spirited to our world via portal spreading his corrupting vice as a Keeper of Secrets.

Slaanesh would have been so much cooler if Humanity were the ones to wake it.

The God-Emperor believes male soldiers make poor guards. That they will prey on the civilian population once all external enemies are gone. To prevent this, he created an all-female military.

Pretty tame fetish, but
>minor inbreeding from a region being mostly self-contained leads to genetic myopic phenotypes becoming commonplace
>legend of powerful heroine (martial, magical, whatever) who was first depicted as wearing glasses, doesn't matter whether or not she did - it stuck and girls want to emulate her.
>poor air quality leads to glasses/goggles being necessary to protect from debris and other irritants.

Well I am a maiesophile, so my fetish is part of the life cycle of most races...

But I did make a lizardfolk tribe related to that.
Being aware that real life lizards can produce offspring without males (and that child will be almost clone of the mother).
I was also aware that reptiles in cold climate give live birth instead of laying eggs

So I combined this and made a tribe of white scaled lizardfolk tribe that lives in an arctic desert and hunt creatures there.

Each of the tribe members is not small by any means, while all are female, most grew phisicly bigger and more durable, so it's hard to notice they are female by most non reptilian races.

I also used this idea to make lizardfolk tribes in other hostile places of my world, seeing as only one woman is needed to start a new tribe and because they don't lay eggs, they are not confined to one location

>Took me forever to find, for some reason
Probably because I didn't have it saved or repost it after being done with it. I did it for a "create a class based on your magical realm" thread, but I didn't think it turned out well. On the bright side, the same thread inspired me to make another class that turned out better (probably because I didn't write the final version as a fetish class).

Obviously in a real game I would just gloss over the description and describe one like you see in the movies that is just a piece of cloth so people wouldn't know but magical realm still achieved.

I think your one of us, you just lack balls to talk about what you like

It's a shame there aren't any religions still doing that. Why can't neo-pagans revive that tradition too, instead of just dancing around in silly robes? They'd get way more converts.

>Librarians

The rise of new technologies and wide-spread education + Gods needing Belief instead of Humans needing Gods = Odd Job Gods. There are deities with the oddest portfolios. Gods of things that stick in drawers. Oh Gods of Dread and Hangovers. With the rise in the general level of knowledge, there are many prayers made in hope of being able to find that book you need for an assignment or that you can finish that assignment before the due date. Those prayers go to She-Who-Requires-Silence, the patron deity of librarians. Her clerics are not required to wear the traditional garb, but find that her favour is more easily gained if they do. Oddly enough, there seem to be no male clerics of She-Who-Requires-Silence. The traditional garb of this deity involves long hair tied back severely into a bun, a white shirt that may hint at the style/color of the undergarments, a thigh-length skirt and sensible shoes (Absolute Terror Socks optional). It is said that the Church of She-Who-Requires-Silence and the Temple of Our Lady In Chains have quite a bit of overlap in terms of parishoners. Both ladies are silent on this matter. Our Lady In Chains won't speak on a matter unless Madam-Who-Demands-Absolute-Subservience tells her to. She-Who-Requires-Silence seems to derive some level of belief from all those who theorise about such things late at night.

>Sibling Complex

More of a story hook than anything. There's a royal wedding about to happen. The prince of the kingdom is getting married to the princess of another kingdom. The princes little sister is trying to stop the wedding because she thinks that the foreign princess isn't good enough for her big brother.

Where you want to put the party is up to you.

>needing justification for something that would easily happen in real life
Whether it makes you an asshole or not depends on who the aggressor of the original battle was.

This theocracy's highest social echelon is made up of witches whose magical power is held as a blessing from the spirit court. As servitude to a witch-maiden brings with it the promise of magical power (which is to say, the blessing of the gods) many brave warriors undergo trials to prove their devotion to a witch-maiden to earn the right to be bound into their service. Most witch-maidens can maintain a single servant binding at once, but some can have more. A bound servitor's social position (as well as the extent of their ability) is determined by the depth of their devotion, which is expressed through undergoing further trials set up by their witch-maiden to test the strength of their will, and receiving a mark on their body for succeeding in a trial. As witch-maidens generally seek to perpetuate their magical ability through their bloodline, no witch-maiden would think to bear the child of anyone but a bound servitor of suitable ability. Being granted the task of perpetuating a witch-maiden's bloodline is often the highest honor to which a bound servitor could ever aspire.

Ah, yes, that's it.
I'd like to play it sometime, given that it's pretty much exactly my magical realm: the RPG.

Pretty much same here....Just need to reread the new set of rules they made.

Someone justify cat girls for me. They're my first fetish to work with, at best most of the time they would be better off as cat folk or ethnic humans in settings.

You always could have some old wizard machine that affects the children born in the area.

Which could be a thing - spell is used to save the children from some plague. Spell was cast by an evil druid (or just unlucky one) and cured the children but gave them cat features

A goddess grants virgin girls supernatural strength and speed, allowing them to serve as warriors.

The thing is, this makes for an interesting political issue. When the girls surrender their virginity, they also surrender their power: if they want to rise high in the service, they have to stay virginal.

At the same time, however, they're sort of the ultimate status symbol. Having a wife like that speaks highly of the man who has married her, and some of the romances are legendary. Usually, they end up marrying the greatest heroes of the realm, and some blessed lineages have resulted from such a union.

At the same time, this puts them in a position where they're highly trusted, because their virtue isn't in doubt. It's obvious whether they have the goddess's blessing or not. (Those who are no longer virgins can no longer perform superhuman feats.)

The blessing also keeps them young, or at least slows their aging. Most don't last long in the service, because most end up falling in love and eventually 'retiring' after they meet the right man. Many families actively petition for their daughters to receive the goddess's blessing, because it means both good marriage prospects and a chance to rise high in the court's hierarchy.

What happens if they're raped, or if they're lesbians?

I assume they lose their powers in the former, but the goddess curses the perpetrators. In the latter, virginity's supposed to be purity in mind and deed, so it'd still lead to a loss of power without the violent consequences.

Here we go...

Ages ago there was a massive demonic invasion. To counter the endless hordes, an angel created a new race of insectoids capable of breeding at an incredible rate. Out of moral concern, the vast majority of her brood were mindless berserker drones, with only a few hatchlings being intelligent, who acted as commanders in the field.

At the end of the war, the demons managed to kill the sole queen in revenge for their defeat. While the war was over, the world still needed protecting, so the angel blessed the remaining intelligent insects with the ability to breed true with a female of any race.

These crusader-bugs still wander the land, protecting the innocent, and seeking out the most beautiful and fertile women to bear their children. And because there's only one intelligent bug for every hundred drones, that's a lot of eggs that need laying.
