Maybe I'm missing something, but don't you get more egocentric points out of Dual Strain than Single? Single = 120 points, Dual = 75 x 2 (since costs are halved) = 150? So if you care primarily about yourself, you get far more mileage out of going dual strain and pumping the primary, ignoring the secondary?

It's just a weird editorial choice. Every origin stipulates the tech level, but only ones with higher than common ethereal manipulation mention ethereal manipulation. None of the origins mention common ethereal manipulation.
