What could be done with them to make them interesting?
>What could be done with them to make them interesting? Dwarves that have to deal with the natural corruption of their holds and the creatures that inhabit them. >Stone trolls being born out of walls >Rocks shifting >creatures from the deep surfacing >halls and corridors literally melting away >were creatures found in the deepst mines
Daniel Ortiz
I might as well ask because it's the OP topic, how big a power is Myrmidia? She's treated like something of a minor goddess because the setting is generally more Empire-focused, but I know in the south she's a big deal. But does she have blessed followers and all that like the Lady?
How do the Bretonnians feel about Myrmidia? I know they like Shallya, so maybe they'd like the other lady deity, especially since peasants might see her as more willing to listen to their prayers in battle.
Jose Fisher
>Are Norse Dwarves ever really Acknowledged outside the RPGs? What could be done with them to make them interesting? Norse dwarves are pretty fine, but I think for dwarves in general it would be good if chaos dwarves would be much more prominent in the setting and some third, more neutral dwarf faction could help to balance them out.
Nolan Roberts
Myrmidia is a law of warriors and knights, but all knights worship the Lady.
They probably see her as a bastardization from Estalia, Tilea and the Empire of the Lady, so it's not worth their time worshiping a flawed version of their true goddes
Paesants have no reason to worship her, but maybe some do in the villages closer to Estalia and the Empire
Daniel Bailey
Have them be much more inquisitive and willing to test out new ideas than their southern kin. Due to their geographic isolation and constant Chaos treats they have learned that adopting to situations is key for survival. This has however lead to Tzeentch having a hidden but increasing influence over the northern dwarves which primarily shows itself in the tumultous and numerious coup d'états that plague the holds as the younger dwarfs have started to loose the traditional dwarven respect for elders.
Adrian Young
>elf goddess that keeps humans as disposable cattle >goddess that liked being human so much that she came to live among them, and doesn't ask for newborn children to be slaves to elves.
Who would you choose Veeky Forums?

The elf goddess of course.

Myrmidia is also a patron of scholars and more scientific principles of combat, literally the opposite of the blind faith and zeal of the lady.
>The Midderlands is an old-school game setting with bestiary for use with old-school role-playing games. It is a green-hued, dark-fantasy, late-middle ages, early-renaissance view through grime-smeared spectacles. The setting itself is based on an area in the middle of England near where I live called The Midlands. Many of the locations are loosely based on reality, but others are pure fantasy from an addled mind.
>"Situated in the middle of Havenland is an area known by the ancestors as the Middle Havenlands. They don’t use that name much any more, preferring to talk lazily, and skip letters.
>In strange accents, often misheard and little understood by those outside of the central region - they call it “The Midderlands”, and themselves “Midfolk” or “Midderlanders”.
>There are many peculiar folk that call these Midderlands home. Generally mistrusting of outsiders, they suspiciously eye strangers, close doors, bar windows and scurry in opposite directions. Maybe the area has had a troubled history and that is why the folk behave the way they do.
>All that aside, there are good folk too. These folk just want to subsist peacefully and not have interference or “goings on” in their lives. Nothing is ever that simple.
>As well as the people of the area, there are the places. The towns and hamlets, the woods and hills, the lakes and the rivers. Amongst all these places are stranger locales too; circles of stones, strange towers, castles and burial grounds.
Camden Nguyen
So i played Mark of Chaos Battle March, needless to say i wasn't disappointed.
Asher Diaz
>Everywhere, the Midderlands is tainted by a green-hued menace that rises from the deep and affects nature and order, sometimes subtly and sometimes catastrophically. It rises from the mysterious subterranean realm known as Middergloom. Often described as hell bathed in green fire and flames. Green-tinged slime, noxious vapours, and miasmas creep upwards, amongst them viridian-coloured demons, lime-green tentacles and other malachite horrors claw their way to the surface to wreak havoc. The Lords of the land are always working to keep things at bay. The realm of Middergloom is deliberately nebulous and mysterious, and left for you to develop as needed to suit your campaign.
>The vileness that lurks below taints the skies above the land too, known as The Drab. The atmosphere is a hint of green rather than blue. The colour can shift between turquoise and sickly yellow-green in a short space of time. When night comes and the Drab clears, the midfolk can see the constellations surrounded by wispy green nebulae, strange wandering stars and comets, and a single many-cratered moon.
>There are many things to keep the inquisitive minds of treasure seekers amused. There are also many things to keep the treasures where they are.
>Things stir in this viridian-hued landscape. Evil eyes blink and watch. Teeth and claws scratch and sharpen. Gaping maws slobber and drool.
>All is not content in the Midderlands."
Adrian Russell
>doesn't ask for newborn children to be slaves to elves. You're saying being superhuman knight or wizard lady is somehow bad?

Best WFRP starting career?
Thomas Edwards
Mark of Chaos had a much better colour scheme than Total War: Warhammer.
It's grimdark and desaturated, but the colours are still differentiated and not muddy like pic related.
Joseph King
In TWW knights of Blazing Sun have magical flame lances.
Kevin Campbell
Kithband Warrior is pretty swole
Isaac Morris
Yeah but he said he would return at the Empire's moment of need (ie. End Times) and he fucking blew it, granted this was plot driven but still. He had one fucking job.
William Clark
Too bad you can't zoom close like in TWW or DoW.
Camden Jenkins
Yeah that was one of the stupidest ideas I've seen in a while, makes it look like Star Wars when they charge in.
Evan Martin
Knight Errant gets full mail armour, lance, shield and a light warhorse, +15% WS, +1 attack and all the benefits of being a noble.
I'd say that covers all the things that make a 'good' career: Good trappings, good stats and a good social standing.
Aiden Thompson
>starts with elfbow >dodge blow >veteran as a career exit Yeah, this seems pretty good.
Ian Jackson
Shieldbreaker without a doubt
Josiah Nguyen
Shieldbreaker or Knight-Errant
Carson Scott
What makes it better than a Kithband Warrior?
Jaxon King
Better armor, dodge blow, and most importantly, a shield
plus Strike to Stun, strike to injure and mighty strike
Considering only dwaves can take shieldbreaker as a starting career, you have a extremely tanky PC that can deck out as much as he takes
all in all, better average survivability, a possible good option ranged, and very very strong in melee
Jackson Barnes
"She's a goddess, just not our goddess."

Its kind of down to whether you want to play a dwarf or not
Oliver Murphy
Despite not having a great mobility, Shieldbreaker is probably the strongest starting career you can have as a dwarf. If you combine it with Runebearer, you nullify all movement penalties.
There is nothing funnier than a dwarf with M 5 that runs as fast as an elf in full plate
Evan Morales
Mark of Chaos is better than Total War in general. It really got Warhammer right, unlike TW which is based on the 8th edition.
Ryder Butler
MoC is a better WARHAMMER game, but TW is a better GAME.

Nah, bro-hammer is right. If you just want a Warhammer fix, you go MoC. If you want to play a game and want a Warhammer flavour, you go TW:W.
>Are Norse Dwarves ever really Acknowledged outside the RPGs? What could be done with them to make them interesting?
Honestly, as big a Beardfag as I am - I'd have loved to see more variants on the Chaos Dwarf concept. Have corrupted Norse Dwarfs as a unit choice, maybe make them a dogs of war unit or something.
Or alternatively, play the Norse Dwarfs as the Wood Elf analogue - ones that went native.
So you'd have High Elves/Dwarfs, Dark Elves/Chaos Dwarfs and Wood Elves/Norse Dwarfs. Give them a winter-theme focus, make them murderous eskimos.
Noah Rogers
General question; is Gashnag supposed to be a nefarious character or is he closer to the romantic hero he portrays himself to be?
He runs a pretty nice fief for himself, protects his people, and tends to only strike out against those that attack him. Is the a ruse or is he closer in vain to a more benevolent undead ruler ala Vlad?
Jace Wright
>But does she have blessed followers and all that like the Lady?
Going by the RPG, it is entirely possible to have priests of Mymidia who can call down blessings. That being said, there's nothing along the line of Grail Knights or Damsels, nor does she grant mass blessings.
>How do the Bretonnians feel about Myrmidia? I know they like Shallya, so maybe they'd like the other lady deity, especially since peasants might see her as more willing to listen to their prayers in battle.
Well, the nobles aren't likely to be very keen on her. For one, Tilea in general isn't trusted by most Old Worlders. In particular, Bretonnians see them as a bunch of backstabbing mercenaries and merchant princes without an ounce of true nobility amongst them. For another, Myrmidia is more a strategy-focused war goddess, while the Lady is a chivalry-minded nature goddess. There's not a whole lot of similarities for Myrmidia to get a foothold on.
Regarding Shallya, the Bretonnians like her because it suits them rather than because he's a goddess and they like goddesses. The peasantry like her because she can help relieve their suffering. The nobility likes her because she does that without upsetting the status quo and because a good deal of knights probably relied on her priests to heal their wounds at least once in their lives. There is a belief some peasants hold that the Lady and Shallya are actually the same goddess, but that belief gets stamped out pretty quickly by the nobility wherever it pops up.
>They probably see her as a bastardization from Estalia, Tilea and the Empire of the Lady, so it's not worth their time worshiping a flawed version of their true goddes
Given that Myrmidia does highly unladylike things such as fight and lead armies, I seriously doubt any knights think of her as even a flawed version of the Lady.
Some men-at-arms may be inclined, but she's such a foreign and intellectual goddess that it seems unlikely.
Robert Foster
She's not so much a patron of scholars (that's Verena) but she's definitely more about strategy and the rules of war. Meanwhile, the Lady isn't really about "blind faith and zeal," at least not any moreso than any other regional god like Ulric or Sigmar.
Alexander Watson
Estalians and Tileans are quick to point out that Myrmidia is nothing so vulgar as a mere 'war god,' she's the patron of civilization as they understand it.
Eli Torres
Myrmidia is basically Athena with the serial numbers filed off; a War deity but focusing on intelligence and strategy and wise leadership as well as many aspects of civilization itself.
>Mark of Chaos had a much better colour scheme than Total War: Warhammer. It's called blur
Connor Lewis
I understand that vampires want to rule the world, but why would they want one that's dead and stagnant? Wouldn't that get boring?
William Hall
Not all of them do. Lahmians explicitly want human subjects, and Strigoi probably do, too. Necharchs don't even want to rule the world, and Blood Dragons are only obsessed with conquering their urges. Von Carsteins seem to have the most "conquer everyone and then kill them" advocates, but even they don't ALL want to dispose with living subjects.
Parker Morales
I sometimes think Norse Dwarfs have just become a backhand term for the old design for Dwarfs, back when they were Anglo-Saxon inspired as opposed to the current more Celtic/fantasy inspiration.
A bit like how the old beakie design became a different mark of armour.
Carson Hernandez
so warfare as thinking men ought to do it instead of ooga booga norscaniggers.

>Meanwhile, the Lady isn't really about "blind faith and zeal," >"just gibs me your sons and daughters forever" >not blind faith and zeal.
Logan Gomez
>Nah, bro-hammer is right. If you just want a Warhammer fix, you go MoC. If you want to play a game and want a Warhammer flavour, you go TW:W.
Eh, not really. TW:WH with combat overhaul mods is far more lore authentic than MoS. Medieval 2's Call of warhammer is pretty good too because of >larger scale >med 2 combat bugs that make the game play better.
Austin Collins
Oh, hey dude. Welcome to the club with me and the other user. Were you disappointed in how trash the voice acting is?
Jack Sanders
I used to think that it was good then I listened to the VA in Dawn of war 1. Pure kino.
Just lettin' you dudes know if you're interested, they got pic-related up on ebay. I thought it was pretty rad, figured some Lizardmen players out there might agree, so letting you guys know in the event you don't check that site much.
In other news, I picked up that cultist and circle pack from Reaper yesterday to use related to my daemons. I've got some ideas for them, but I wanted to hear what you gits can come up with/suggest. Objectives? Run the circle as an objective and make them escorts? Wasn't there something similar with the pony the dwarfs got in Battle for Skull Pass? Never had that box set (which I regret daily) so I'm not sure how it worked.
I played it to check out witch ladies, game is better than DoW 3, at least in amount of playable races.

The Sylvanians were quite happy under Vlad. He barely taxed them, protected their villages from bandits and generally kept the undead hordes away from them. Sylvania prospered under von Carstein rule and the locals were so happy with him that they willingly marched along to war. >"They are stronger than us, smarter than us, live longer than us, and are far better looking than us. They are our superiors in every respect, and the taxes are lower when they rule. When they come back I will be the first to welcome them."
Samuel Jones
because the rest of the empire was being fucked up by civil war. Sylvania was a shithole ever since the warpstone shower.
Oliver Davis
>Necharchs don't even want to rule the world
Necrarchs want a world without the living.
Anthony Wilson
doesn't change the facts regarding Vlad
if he wanted to be a huge dick he could have easily slaughtered the entire population and then raise them up again. He didn't and was, by all accounts, a decent enough ruler. That's not to say that he was off kissing babies and building hospitals, but he definitely protected the interests of Sylvanians
Luis Lopez
Total War has things that don't exist in real Warhammer, like demigryphs.
Levi Turner
>protect the interests of sylvanians >"when you die I trap ur souls and reanimate your bones"

I don't know where your quote is from, but the actual armybooks say that people would frequently disappear under Vlad's rule, the implication being that they were drained by vampires.
Nicholas Turner
Yeah, but it also said that they were quite happy despite that. It was much better than what they suffered under von Drak
Josiah Ward
No one's calling Von Drak a benevolent ruler. But being slightly better than Von Drak doesn't make Vlad a benevolent ruler, just a rational one.
Jason Hernandez
Von drak was literal bottom of the barrel tier. No one in their right mind would trade this sexy beast for Vlad.
Lucas Cooper
I heard poorly rated @Vlad_VC speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Konrad, along with Psycho Mannfred, came to Reikland 3 times in a row around, and insisted on claiming the throne me. They had blood dripping from their fangs. I said no!

I need plastic Dwarf miners badly, I check like every week but it's just the same odds and ends and maybe a box of the old metal ones for a ridiculous price.
I don't know why GW got rid of them, fairly new, looked okay and mining is about the most Dwafy thing going.

I have the eggbox tree-sitty version, it was pretty awful to control but it looked nice. Is there a significant difference in the 360 version and PC?

I didn't play Xbox 360 version, only know it comes with expansion, while PC needs original game to play.

this greatswords I posted last thread is finally done. Which leaves one greatsword left, the worst kind. Standard bearer.
