With all this talk of bread...

...

>The Curio Shop
Too cute. I just hope the shopkeeper is okay.

The second choice means magic exists. Could you still use it outside their city if you had the knowledge?
Does the library contain texts about magic?
Could you return to whatever location you end up at?

This is what I get for making a CYOA for the first time, haha.

(1) The energy flows necessary to use magic only exist in and around the Kingdom of the Air.
(2) Yes, but see (1)
(3) Yes, but the desire of your heart is only ever at the shop once

>Magic
>The true desire of my heart
Well damm i will have to take the curio shop

...

Infallible Salvation of Information
>if I see it, I'll always remember it
Silent, Determined Servant of Servos
>computer will never break down
Invincible Guardian of Ocular Ability
>no going blind for me! also, nice conversations
Virtual Assistant of Browsing and Searching
>research assistant, go!
Instant Break Time of Indefinite Length
>I'll need some time to think about that...
Control Center of Environmental Status
>Comf

Even if i could find a way to the kingdom of the air in the library, what could i achive in the city, as a magicless nobody?
So I'd pick the Curio shoppe. The library is a close second.

It's a neat CYOA, thanks for making it, user.

Shoppe
Sounds too good to pass up. Even when up against hidden mystic knowledge.

Here's a comfy CYOA!

Curio Shoppe

Library of Knowing still requires me to find, self teach, and then apply whatever I want to know, and I know l'd end up not working at it enough. Kingdom of the Air doesn't tell me if I can learn magic too, or if the people there are friendly or hostile.

Admittedly, the Curio Shoppe could be a trap too, but all it requires is I go for a walk one night, and I'll at least see some manifestation of my heart's desire whether or not I can afford whatever the price may be.

...

Tier 1
>Ability

Tier 2

Tier 3

Nothing is a trap.

The residents of the Kingdom of the Air consider you a curiousity at first. How their impression proceeds from there depends on you.

You can learn magic in the Kingdom of the Air, but you can only use it while you are there.

What does my heart's desire cost?

What would you need to give up to make your heart's desire into reality?

Every time I see this CYOA I feel a moral obligation to pick Janitor simply because I wouldn't trust it being given to a random person anywhere in the world. With an idle thought, a Janitor could erase the Earth itself.

Well who is he?

Wild West user...have a suggestion for a layout in the previous thread. Let me know if it works for you and I can give you the psd file.

>Money 1
A wage supplement that covers living essentials; I'll still need to work.
>Health 2
An ideal body and guaranteed longevity.
>Safety 1
Protection for my home and belongings.
>Enjoyment 1
No more wasting time and energy on dissatisfying entertainment or relationships. Hopefully leads me to my soulmate.
>Ability 3
If what I desire doesn't exist I'll make it myself. Also acts as a main source of income.
>Love 1
Happiness is contagious, so being surrounded by happy people is good. Makes me a better person by incentivizing kindness.
>Soul 3
Sounds like a good way to experience any fictional setting. Fun times.

What font did you use for the "if you don't keep your feet" line? It's verrry nice.

Time to start making page 6, I guess. If you have suggestions, please offer them.

Construction - Custom squad. Girl's spec. can be different from and combined with commander's to create hybrids.
Milestone - Exchange resources for extra rooms
Fashion event - Exchange resources for an additional costume
Fate - Marriage.
Recruitment - Exchange resources for extra companions to serve as base staff
Remodel - Exchange resources to replace your squad leader with one of these
Civilian contract - Exchange resources for extra city buildings
Dreadnaught - Replace your base with a mobile base, unlocking Heavy hangar.

Iron mind - 1 girl is hellbent on revenge, can't take any gadgets
Iron heart - 1 of your girls was a boss in the past, take a negative personality, take any weapon, regardless of hull size, as inbuilt. Limited to 1 slot, requires Fate
Iron blood - 1+ girl per offense mission cleared, 1 girl max at start.
Iron abyss - If a girl is defeated, add a second boss to your next mission

Missions
Hulls, some combat companions and transports give mission points that are needed to start them. Each stage drains x points, weapons and some gadgets reduce the drain.
Supply escort
Enemy transport - Take an item for free after clearing a mission. Can equip it instead of any current item

Defense
Base buildings receive damage instead of girls

Offense - Enemy has been located, we must eliminate it.
Multiple stages with diff. reqs, can have 1+ bosses. 2-3 stages is short, 4-5 medium, 6-7 long.

Examples of stages:
Landing - Enemy guard towers and scouts
Patrol - A few scouts and a light enemy
Vanguard - Several lights and scouts
Road to base - A medium and a light.
Breakthrough - Several mediums
Bodyguard - A Heavy and several scouts
Boss appearance - Final boss.
Enemy ambush - Halfway boss.
Reinforcements - Heavy with lights
Flagship - S.Hvy and mediums
Assault - Many lights

Also, fair warning, I might not be able to balance the mission points system well.

>browsing the google drive for CYOAs
>find one that is really promising, getting in to it
>it randomly ends
>'WIP'

fuck

Is the Dreadnaught a shipgirl? if so i assume that it has to be made right?

Why does Iron heart require Fate?

Iron blood adds more enemies per mission
correct?

Iron abyss is basically that if one of your girls gets defeated she will get turned in to a boss?

What about making missions like sabotage or recon/investigation?

Will iron challenges give any sort of compensation?

Which one was it?

Completely late to reply, but Highlander's CYOA Traveller's Tale has a poll in production to shove the last 50 "Quality OCs" into the Extended Allies section. Namefagging was probably an excuse to both play the CYOA and tell the people who care the update.

For whatever that's worth.

>Poor quality art
Unless something really outstanding is made, most anons will prefer outright crap as long as it looks nice - it's understandable, but also a big obstacle

>Decay of motivation
Ideas strike me all the time, imagination gives me wonderful images, but with time interest dwindles and new dreams take their place. It happens faster than I can complete most CYOA (though I've made a few tiny, low-effort ones for some anons in the past)

>Somewhere between Give Up and Struggle On
I lack will to finish a lot of my bigger projects but they are still there on my HDD and from time to time rather than pursuing another idea I resist and try to manage what's already there.

>Fellow Anons
I enjoy my ideas mostly for myself but I also want to provide a surprise for anons. Some even enjoyed my half-finished, wall-of-text-only CYOA before they became forgotten.

For the Curio Shoppe, isn't that the image used in Waifuborne/Waifusouls?
Going with
>Curio Shoppe
because I want to know what "the true desire of my heart" is.
>Agent snek
>Spooky
>Specialist chomp
This is definitely a candidate for the best cyoa of all time.

There's no stopping me, user. I am just too cute an occultist.

Unless Waifuborne was updated since the last time I downloaded it, no.

I certainly didn't get the image from it, though, I've had that thing sitting on my hard drive for ages.

...

Dreadnaught is a base that is mobile and controlled by your adjutant/second in command/squad leader as a captain.

Because only true love can melt the heart of iron.

Iron blood limits your squad size. It supposed to represent the side story adventures of Iron Blood PMC.

Iron abyss turns the girls you lose into bosses you'll need to add to your next mission, yes.

I'll try to add a stage for that too, but you'll able to create your own missions by combining separate stages. If you find presets not good enough.

Well, iron mind can change infantry gadget slots into weapon slots. Heart, basically, gives you a S.Heavy weapon without needing a S.Heavy hull. Blood gives you cosmetic changes, I guess. Abyss gives you 'rogue like' missions and whatever corruption/redemption narrative you have in mind.

Or you can replace one of your girls with Dreadnaught with a S.Heavy loadout, making a sort of carrier for carriers, if you want

I'm gonna cut two breads and then fuse them together

Trust me, I'm a master baker

Nice because i had planned to make a S.heavy to be a carrier of sorts with life support field and a shit ton of fairies

I wish you lads would produce less waifu stuff and more stuff like The Island.

You know what the answer is user. Be the change you want to be.

As much as I enjoy reading, I'm no genius, so I'm probably not intelligent enough to make proper use of the secrets held within. I would pass on the Library unless there's some way to harness the vast knowledge, since my brain certainly isn't up to doing so. I might be more interested if there is some sort of librarian or teacher who can guide and accompany me.

The chance to learn magic is very, very tempting. I'm sure there are many wonders that I'd enjoy, but the knowledge that magic cannot be used outside of the Kingdom limits the appeal. I'd have to permanently move there, and there's no guarantee they would teach me. Might reconsider it if there is a guarantee of a good teacher and the means to support myself.

I enjoy looking around antique shops or other oddities, so the new shop would definitely interest me. When we arrive at the pedestal, the giggling shopkeeper would give me a smug look and ask if I would like to become her live-in companion and learn from her. Yes, a comfy eternal life spent living and working at a curio shop with an ancient eldritch entity in the shape of a cute female mentor/companion is pretty spot on to the true desire within my heart.

Probably Sourdough or Brioche, they both appeal to me.

I wish you, lad, would produce less waifu stuff and more stuff like The Island.

I'm not usually a fan of weeb art, but that is a beautiful piece.

If you want islands go to the mines and rise your pickaxe

Your heart wouldn't handle if I'd put on cat ears and go "nya". Unless you like girls with gigantic boobs but then it's your loss.

Hmmm... Yeah, I should probably have included a librarian and a magician for the other two locations.

Something to consider if I make a revision. Thanks for the suggestions!

Look at those little things go up and down and up and

I would look at it but that Smug is hypnotizing

... this is starting to get weird

Oh, alright. I guess given how many actual traps and anons acting like they're girls are here it may be. Have a manly thing then. I'm gonna disappear now.

In reality, boobs those size don't really bounce like this but a smug catgirl is still cute.

I've got a few.

...

...

I made two like that and they didn't get that big of a response.

He's one of those fat old hentai men.

Post them!

He is THE fat old hentai man every time you read one and a fat old man appears he is tok

I actually prefer stuff like that myself, but you're right that they get less attention and resposts than waifu stuff in general. Its sad but its the nature of the beast.

>Decay
Its not so much my motivation as it is the quality of these threads. I've made lots of OC for lots of communities over the years and nothing kills my motivation harder than seeing all the intelligent people replaced with or outspoken by drooling retards.
>Moment of respite
I honestly can't decide between giving up and keeping going. A small part of me still thinks "if you make good OC, more people will be inspired to make good OC", but I'm not sure if the quality cascade can be reversed at this point. This dumb fucking cyoa is the best-designed CYOA we've had visually speaking in what, 3-4 weeks? All of the talent and effort is gone from these threads.
>For Yourself
>Anons
It's about 50/50, I guess.
Did you make this, DSA? You're the last thing keeping me going as well, though you don't know me. Maybe I'll make a CYOA just like that.

I-i'm not DSA, y-you'll still make those waifu cyoas for me though, r-right?

One of them.

They were posted at odd hours the first time iirc and in the middle of a big discussion/shitflinging contest. The currency one still got builds and was posted a couple threads after that. That seems to be the way these go and they're in pdf format which while that doesn't bother some anons, there are others that won't touch the format at all...to their detriment.

This might make a good enemy.

I want to be the yandere

...

The other.

I probably posted them when it was inconvenient for burgers, and the middle of a discussion/shitstorm isn't the best time either, not that I realised at the time.
>The currency one still got builds and was posted a couple threads after that.
Neat. I didn't see the repost because it must have been too late at night for me to see it.
>That seems to be the way these go and they're in pdf format which while that doesn't bother some anons, there are others that won't touch the format at all...to their detriment.
I am thinking of reposting them as jpg/png, but that will be after I figure out how to compress them as well as in the PDF versions.

>This dumb fucking cyoa is the best-designed CYOA we've had visually speaking in what, 3-4 weeks? All of the talent and effort is gone from these threads

I'm more or less done with dedicated waifu cyoas, but pretty much all of my projects involves waifus in some way.

I really don't like to shit on people who are trying their best, but all it takes is a solid-color background and a decent font choice to not look terrible. ZBG's shit and some other things posted recently have more effort in but just end up looking even worse.

Are gradients so evil?!

>why you slap me.jpg

What are some examples of your work?

It's weekend so I'll post my still fresh creation for anons who don't like reading long waifu cyoas on tuesdays. If you have any questions, give me a (You).
