>Championship Belt.

>Wearers of this belt now have double their strength score after modifiers from any source. (A score of 18 is now 32. Bull's strength +4 is effectively +8 now, ect.)

>Mind of the champion: Can no longer take 10 or twenty on any check that does not involve strength. mental based skills take a -4 penalty

>Absurd strength: Once a week, The wearer of the belt can perform an absurd feat of strength that defies physics. This can replicate any effect, so long as the way the feat of strength is described is sufficiently absurd. (ex. Pulling thin air to reverse gravity, Ripping open a door to create a dimensional gateway, smashing coal to fabricate diamonds. )

My DM saw a homebrew of a "Belt of Ogre Life" that skyrocketed the wearer's constitution to a set value. He unfortunately did not tell us the fucking thing imposed constitution drain every time it was removed and we didn't notice because of how curses work.

>LOCAL CLERIC CANNOT REMOVE PANTS, ALTAR BOYS EVERYWHERE SLEEP EASILY AT NIGHT

The PLD Crew just got half a magic item and will be raiding to get the other half this Thursday.

Twinned Swords
These swords were taken from an ancient statue are are larger than life. They've been engraved with runes and linked together. If either handle is held, the blades become windows to each other's locations, showing the opposites view. Whoever is holding the blade also hears everything the opposite blade hears. If used as a weapon, they count as a magical improvised weapon.

Sex and such is kind of an expected part of /pfg/ campaigns at this point - at least so common that someone shouldn't be shocked or disgusted if they get a PM from someone asking if you'd be up for an encounter. The worst thing that could happen is the player says they don't see their character ever doing something with yours, in which case that shouldn't be so much a rejection as it is confirmation on where you stand, that you no longer have to hold onto the illusion of control or the illusion of *something* with the other character.

And hey, there's always the other party members that might suit your fancy, or an NPC. Hell, even Rory got a waifu, if that shit can find happiness (however manufactured it may be) so can you.

>pfg still full of perverts.

How simple vs complex should be a character's backstory?

The backstory itself should be fairly simple, easy to summarize in 2-3 sentences. The personality revealed by that backstory should be complex.

I mean, the GM's thrown me a bone.

But I just feel anxious as hell all the time. Before I could even make the first post in the scene they'd proposed, I had to down FOUR shots before I felt ready to post.

Ever since 1974, you delusional moron.

I saw that in one campaign, members were marked as ERP-friendly or non-ERP-friendly, which helped. That way people who didn't want to ERP or be party to ERP didn't have to even see the ERP channel they had, and nobody would bother asking them, since they were marked accordingly.

It's a writign exercise. It's actually pretty difficult to get off when you're writing ERP, because you actually have to do a lot of thinking. So just treat it as a writing exercise, enjoy the end result of said exercise later when you can take some time to feel and not think.

That's performance anxiety, mate. People have it in relationships all the time. Just realize the fact the DM proposed the scene in the first place means they want to do a scene with you, even after knowing how you are IC and OOC.

Depends on the starting level, probably. The more dangerous shit they've done, the higher level they should be, so don't be the best ebin spy this country has to offer, doing spec ops and shit at level 1, since your character really won't live up to the hype. So low level, I'd say simple. High level, it varies. Simple works, but complex does as well, so it's less of an issue. Still, the more complex, the more likely you are to hit an inconsistency, or run up against setting lore, so it also depends on your understanding of the setting and writing skills. Simple is best, unless you can handle it, basically.

What games are currently recruiting?

Wrath of the Righteous and Iron Gods, that's kind of it.

Is King's Gambit done?

Have you followed John Wick's advice to PM THEM yet?

Link to Iron Gods?

As simple or as complex as the rest of the characters in the party have. There's nothing wrong with a really shallow backstory if everybody has one because it's just a beer and pretzels game, and there's nothing wrong with a novella if everybody is taking the game and their character that seriously.

Are you sure you're not trying to ask, "How accomplished should my character be from their backstory?"

What's the best way to build a spellcaster who fights by magically generating and destroying flavor compounds?

Should i use spheres or come up with rules for Greater Prestidigitation

app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/82673/iron-gods

What do you want to app with, user?

Give me a two sentence backstory that reveals a very complex personality, as an example.

>Flower Nymph (homebrew race, v3.1)
Shilling this again because new thread. Anyone willing to review this would be happily received! Also, would you allow this race if you DM'd a game, and why/not?

I've been PMing THEM for months!

I mean, that image doesn't contain any fat hairy girls vomiting on each other, or shitting, which memes it's better than /pfg/.

PM them again!

I PM THEM pretty often.
Mostly to just ask how things are going. And I don't PM THEM if they're not on, 'cause I don't want to bother them too much. Is that bad?

Not really. The thing, I have a complexity addiction. I'm a fiend for details and knowing a thing of two about themes, plots and all that narrative theory makes it worse.

>The backstory itself should be fairly simple, easy to summarize in 2-3 sentences.
>easy to summarize in 2-3 sentences.
>to summarize

I would user, but I'm not sure you'd be able to read it.

I am actually unliterate.

Sentences can actually be fairly long, if you aren't scared of punctuation. I'm not that user, but I'll give it a go.

Frank was a guard before he killed his wife - bludgeoned her to death in the middle of the living room while their children watched. He's now joined the party to find his wife's killer.

It's mostly just vague, leaving space for reader interpretation. He could have been under a geass, some spell, a curse, or he could be lying to get away with the crime, or simply insane.

Fuck, now I want to play a Rosy as a loving plantmom.

Spheres.

Or Words of Power, using the flavinoids and vitamin names as the words of power you build spells with.

Could you explain a bit more? I'm not sure how exactly you're envisioning this working.

/pfg/ What are your opinions on worshiping a god whose alignment is wildly different from your own, with the mindset that you know your god is in the right but you have to act in a different capacity from what they teach to further some other goal in life?

For instance, I once made a Cleric of Desna who was LN, with the mindset that he would be the upholder of that which is right, so everyone else could spend their time living a carefree life. To be fair, this was also before I knew that by RAW you had to be within one step of your god's alignment but the thought has piqued my interest ever since.

Focusing in on the archetype of the Gunslinger playing a Mysterious Stranger Unchained Gunslinger:

>Eli considered himself a man of virtue, a man of principles, a good man, a god fearing man, a man who knew his place in the world. Now he feared that place was gone.

If you're really doing more than paying lip service to your deity, you're going to be closer to them in alignment. You could probably be a true neutral follower of Desna, but LN is directly opposed to an aspect of her alignment in terms of basic philosophy.

Give me an example of an slayer backstory.

Honestly, an idea like that just isn't going to find a decent mechanical execution in Pathfinder, even with 3PP. At least, not something that would satisfy me, if I were trying to make it.

But you can refluff things. Refluff how your spells work or what they do. That's the only thing I can suggest.

That's not a bad idea, from the sound of it so far, but that name feels a little too cliched, don't you think?

Are the downtime rules something decent to use for the purposes of building and maintaining harems or is there something better for that sort of thing?

Yeah, there is a better system. It's called masturbating to anime porn.

>That's not a bad idea, from the sound of it so far, but that name feels a little too cliched, don't you think?
I'm not choosing a numerian name because they're honestly atrocious sounding. I thought through a few classic cowboy names. Johnathan Wott was another I considered. Tom Mett was another I thought maybe on.

Why? Slayers can be literally anything.

Do you think they'd appreciate it?

I suppose, I guess I've just always liked the idea of treating oneself as sort of like an ideological sacrificial lamb, like when a bad guy was actually a good guy all along but did X, Y, and Z deeds in order to strengthen the heroes of the story like in that one arc of Yu Yu Hakusho.

Are there any particularly fun/crazy dungeons in modules that you would recommend?

>Are the downtime rules something decent to use for

no

>the purposes of building and maintaining harems or is there something better for that sort of thing?

Yeah, just RP that stuff with your DM. If your DM doesn't want to RP it, then write a story yourself if you really want.

I don't disagree about the Numerian name, but you're probably going to want to use names that don't sound so much like real world names. Maybe an anagram of a classic cowboy name?

Litererally fights with flavors. Blinds and chokes people by making the air spicy and smokey. makes candy explosive by infusing it with nitrate salt. Replaces lost blood by making himself gamier. Electricity generation, sugar rushes and lead poisoning also work

You just described he man's harness thing

Most of the names of characters I apply which are real world names. I can see what you mean though.

PM them anyway. Unless you're harassing them at all hours of the day, they're more likely to appreciate it than dislike it.

From the sound of things, you probably will give them a smile. Just don't come on too strong.

Well, sir, as long as I can remember I've had a weakness for pretty things, and it's gotten me into trouble, you see.

I grew up in Malayurg castle as a bonded servant, working alongside my mother in the kitchens. I would amuse myself by hunting mice through the pantries and sculleries. I was so good at it that I put the castle cats out of a job, and eventually the lord realized that I might also be employed to track down bigger game, on certain errands of a type perhaps better left unsaid. Needless to say, I found a number of opportunities to avail myself of trinkets that had formerly belonged to my lord's enemies. So I was able to buy myself out of bondage, and find hire as a free agent. My last job was here.

Unfortunately, my last employer's wife had a lovely amulet, of a kind I simply could not resist. She doesn't know it's missing, yet, but she might soon. So tell me, are you looking for helpers?

I think I can probably reflavor (pun not intended) some of the fluff for one of the sphere classes and focus on creation, life and destruction.

Refluffed Alchemist. There is no way to do this RAW, I think. I haven't looked into all of the Spheres stuff, since I've never been in a campaign that uses it, but refluffing alchemist extracts or refluffing spells would probably be your best bet.

I'm the DM. I am looking for ways to streamline managing families and kiddies in large numbers since they are a part of the game for goblinoid PCs.

How do these even interact mechanically with the game? They're just families. Roleplay it.

So for me when I played a game where I was a noble I needed my children to help command my armies.

What does a Lawful Good thrallherd look and act like?

...

You know, I'm not him but I've still always been wanting to make an alchemist candy maker whose potions and extracts are candies. But I can't tell if he should be a genuinely good guy with a particular soft spot for children or a sociopath pretending to be a nice guy.

Well, just give an update on them every few sessions or something. What's the complication here? What's the problem?

So just stat them?

Speaking of Iron Gods. I'm having trouble with backstory for an android. I have being discovered as it were, and people to teach them the way of the world, at least as far as a PC needs. But I'm having trouble coming up with reason why an Android would leave such people?

Delete this, you blasphemer.

The thing is how do you determine in some objective manner the classes/point buy/etc. of your children. How do you influence it through parenting?

They don't exist, because mind controlling vast swathes of people is quite possibly the most evil thing you could do.

They're all dead. Or he found out those people were just using him. Or the android has a desire to discover more of the world and he people are sheltering him too much.

k

Mind control ends eventually. Necromancers can enslave the soul even in death.

Stat them as NPCs. Downtime has no information about commanding armies. Kingdom Building might, but Kingdom Building is shit. Just stat them as NPCs, maybe give some kind kind of opposed int mod or something for the opposing commanders in a war to see who outmaneuvers whom, then give the opposing side a bonus to another roll to decide the outcome. I think PF has mass combat rules, but I don't know how good those are either. Downtime isn't really going to do shit in this situation, sadly.
You don't get to determine ability scores. That's just something that happens. GM can roll for it or something, but it's supposed to represent your genetics. If you want your kid to be a certain class, you can send them to train under somebody with that class. Wizards learn from other wizards quite often. Some of the other classes like barb and shit are self-taught, but I'm sure you could have a tutor. Just roleplay sending your kids off to study with people. Also, the length of that training is determined on the racial page, so it will take time before they actually git gud.

Good job!

I played one where his thralls were those who pledged loyalty to the great collective. He was "His Soul In Flames; The One Who Burns". His mission and purpose was to travel and extinguish the unrighteous. He burned sinners, healed the sick, settled disputes, and each time allowed those who wished to enter with him into the great council of the collective and become one of 'Those Who Burn'.

It's profession soldier checks, Ultimate Warfare has rules for it.

Is there interest in a Shackles game that's not necessarily pirates? Been reading about it as well as the surrounding areas and it seems pretty dope. Plenty of chance to sail, but not actually necessary to do so.

Someone else who doesn't like androids forces them to leave. Make it a real tear-jerker, a family being broken up.

You don't. Personally, I always use the same point buy for everybody in the world, except for heroes (like PCs) who get 5 or 10 more points.

Thoughts on Everyman Unchained Fighters?

Better than my shitty idea, there ya go. Get your kid in the army, and they'll increase their profession score.

Honestly worse than DHB's UC fighter.

>those who pledged loyalty to the great collective

According to the mechanics, they pledged loyalty because he forced them to. It's still mind control, and therefore pretty fucking evil, bro.

Cleric of All Gods v2:
pastebin.com/Z7LTpQSe

A polytheistic cleric archetype intended for polytheistic settings.

they did update it so its a lot better now.

I've been playing a tinkerer in a campaign and I've been trying to wrap my head around what my automatons would look like. They don't have arms by default so its really throwing me off. Like would they be a bipedal shell before putting on the inventions or are they animal like in some way? Or do they look like what ever I would want that blueprint to look like?
Pic is kinda what I'd expect if the arms were removed and its the blank slate.

Also, I have leadership and am level 15, so I get like 35 follows, should I start my own tinker college and have an army of 35 tinkers and their 35 automatons?

He only took those who were willing and criminals. Criminals were forced and the grateful came willingly. Many were those who has no where else to go and know they would do the righteous as a member of the collective.

You do realize that 99% of Pathfinder settings are polytheistic

You do realize that Polytheistic pantheons would very rarely have a single priest of all gods and rather priests of specific gods because each gods faith deserves someone's full attention

you do realize this idea is retarded

Is there a way to make a Hellknight that isn't shit? I hate prestige classes in PF because it fucks so much with beneficial base progressions and often offer little, and Hellknights appear to be no exception, with precious few redeeming qualities.

Has anyone tried to make hellknight archetypes, maybe?

>Be knight
>be lawful
>don't take PRC
>still be Hellknight

Wow.

The Harrowing.

Okay here's how she work

>Looses out on Multiple Weapon groups by default, but gets it at level one, plus proficiency in EVERYTHING in the weapon group, including Exotic weapons.
>Combat Stamina/ Advanced weapon Training (AWT) options/ Advanced Armor training (AAT) options are gained for free without trading anything out.
> Can spend stamina to get Martial flexibility, and Spend stamina to get Temp HP when less than full.
> In place of AWT, AAT, or **BONUS FEATS** you can get Fighter Training Options which are utility quality of life things. Such as a Scaling Reflex/Will Save bonus, Mount that can be either Ranger or Druid level animal companions depending on investment, Crafting abilities, and other stuff.
>4 skillpoints per level

The book also converts a lot of the basic Archetypes to fit Unchained, Also a few cool new feats that play with Weapon groups, out of combat stamina use, and charging vital strike.

Just whatever you do, for the love of god, DON'T LOOK AT THE ART!!

That's not how Thrallherd works.

People seek out the Thrallherd because of a subconcious compulsion to do so. Your "willing" followers had no choice but you follow you.

What game would be the best to play Dr. Dick in?

>youtu.be/RR-iFCwNuZM

A Bard || Medic gestalt seems most appropriate.

What did you have in mind.

You could always play a bunch of Mwangi natives that worship Mwali and are trying to get the white men to leave. Nothing else really goes on in the expanse area so it'd be new.

I really want a pirates game tho

>name my 'arcs' in the game
>think the arcs have cool names

Does anyone else do this? If so post names, and judge names others have. Here are a few of mine:

>Devil in the White City
>Lockjaw
>A Misery in Three Parts
>The Four Hour War

That would pretty much invite nothing but shit posting.

ooga booga where all the white wimminz at

Sounds like fun. I can finally play a proper voodoo witch doctor.

>Nothing else really goes on in the expanse area so it'd be new.
I mean you have evil demon gorilla empire builders. Wizard colleges and all the bullshit that entails.

But yeah fuck there really isn't anything else there. You have pirates, natives vs colonists, and wizards.

Are there even any books detailing the Expanse?

sounds more like a 5e game

Why?

I want to but I usually have no good names.
