Digits decide, I'll do anything if it's possible to make a coherent setting out of it.
I want to do some worldbuilding but I can't decide on a genre
Grimdark fantasy
Atompunk Fantasy
reroll.
Wizardpunk
>Atompunk fantasy
this is an underrated idea so woefully underused
Noir Dieselpunk w/ time travel bullshit and new world exploration shenanigans
bronzepunk
Tenchi Muyo style "lol who needs an EVA suit" squishy scifi.
This but humans only, with a focus on demons/evil supernatural creatures.
Memepunk dystopian future. The players are meme rebels. Like Jet Set Radio meets Minority Report meets memes.
Primal. Everything revolves around violence (for food) or sex. Monsters either kill or rape, usually both. Traps kill by over-orgasming targets. Locks open when you put your P* in it (hope it isn't poisoned). Carnivorous plant are literal and subjective men eaters.
Don't be a chump, base it around OP pic. That'll be more interesting than 'Glitterpunk High School.'
Knights on motorcycles should be your starting point.
D&D except spells are carried on huge floppy dildos instead of scrolls.
hyper-aggressive iron age fantasy
with reams of added human sacrifice and demonic mysticism, maybe with a really unusual world like the interior of a cosmic animals' guts or the surface of a colossal breaking wheel
Ooh, I like this. Rolling.
In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, there is only Spurdo.
How about Brave New Meme?
Stalingrad but with trained lions as soldiers.
Winner
URRAH
Otherwise realistic feudalism with sci-fi medieval tech, power armor, space age materials, etc. The tech isn't ancient or mysterious, it's just produced by a caste of wizards
Huh, how the fuck would that work?
(just calling it bronze age fantasy works.)
Beautiful tier
Good enough tier
Fine, but not great tier
Stupid tier
Wandering martial artists with supernatural powers, and malevolent elemental monsters.
Undeniably superior fascist elves are conquering the world and exterminating the lesser races, the viewpoint is of their resistance in the face of a greater foe. Tech is WW1, but with Magitech and Golem cannon fodder.
Crime-riddled 1980's city filled with corrupt and all-powerful police, violent and desperate gangsters, and well-intentioned extremists on both sides trying to make a difference.
What is that thing
Touch
It's an antarctic fur seal pup. They're cute and fluffy little shits.
Philosophy-punk, the world is built around abstract philosophical concepts, think flat land
Transexual dystopia where everyone was forced to take drugs at childbirth to become extremely androgynous and have no genitals, just a urethral hole.
The entire society uses technology based on nanomachines that bind to estrogen in the body, allowing you to do things like call an elevator or open sliding doors and so on.
The players are gender-rebels. They find old drugs, control their diet, and deal with seedy rebels to grow genitals and have sex for the first time. Characters that go towards the 'male' path become stronger and better at fighting but have less of the nanobot magic. Female characters on the other hand develop abilities that lets them shut off police drones and control cars with their mind because of their high estrogen levels.
Your goal is to leave the transfluid cityscape and return to nature where you can live in a peaceful tribal society with biological genders, free from the tyranny of the fluids.
Look up a book called Escape from Enlightenment. Similar to what you are suggesting.
Fuck, I'd play it.
Post-singularity slice of life
Fuck genre. Make your world/story/whatever first. The genre will come from that.
Aliens pull warriors from throughout history into a battleworld for their entertainment. The PCs are a gang of bikers who were smuggling guns across the border when they were whisked to this scenario. First encounter is against knights, armor is now had.
Surrealist fantasy. The world has rules, but they aren't even remotely related to the rules of our own.
Ebin :DDDDDDDD
World eating giant spaceship that ate the Earth, millions of humans and countless other alien specied living in it as the last remnants of their races.
Roll
roll
Conspiracy thriller in an Asian-inspired fantasy setting.
So, we in a century?
Chinese inspired Wild West with supernatural elements
