First for let's talk more about female marines.

Ok. How likely is it, do you think?

As likely as plastic sisters.

I play Chaos and I think you deserve purging.

So I notice betrayal at Calth Contemptors are still selling cheap on eBay, but I already have one with cut and reposed legs and some simple decorations added... so if I was to make another I'd want some conversion ideas to make it more unique looking. Hardly want two identical chapter ancients.

Any thoughts?

How about fem heretic Astartes?

Tried real hard to fit a Fellblade in a fluffy list but it's pretty hard considering how the Relic rule works.
it's DKK + SM
pastebin.com/B8ujuuSc

Pretty straightforward I'd say, but maybe I should drop something for a couple of priests
I also wanted some SM models to use the Relic stratagem.
Any thoughts?

/wip/, art dumps and Pinterest might help you better than us.

0%, they would have already done it with nu-marines if they ever considered doing it.

I mean, primaris are made by upgrading old space marines, right? it's not a another method of making marines through transforming normal people? Or both?
Either way it doesn't matter now, all primaris are male which is an indicator of how GW will keep them.

Reminder to encourage thread diversity by ignoring Guardfags

NOBODY MOVE! Dat grot got glassed and no git leaves 'ere 'till we find out wot git did it

Probably, but given all I really need is a substantial change to the look of the sarcophagus I'm not really thinking this is an elaborate conversion to ask ideas for.

>fluffy list
>I also wanted some SM models to use the Relic stratagem

I already play Emperor's Children.

well I mean, wouldn't it be weird to have a random Fellblade in a IG army without some kind of SM escort?
I feel like it still fits the fantasy

Guys.
Seriously.
Tau are the best race and Fire Warriors are more skilled than Guardsmen!

Considering they are out, anyone have a scan of the rules for the new librarian and captain?

...

>Tau are the best race

Laughable

>Fire Warriors are more skilled than Guardsmen

True but that says jack shit.

Best race to throw into furnaces, you mean.

Dunno how elaborate you wanna go but I swapped out the gorget on mine for a venerable dread gorget.

I think there's a chance GW may be bringing back the Missing Legions to do it.

Would anyone have a problem if chapters were still segregated by gender?

Daemons are a part of their respective god right? Does that mean it is possible to bring the whole god out of the warp?

Do you think there would be an issue using a dual Kheres Contemptor Mortis?

Cheers, compared to the originals they do not exactly seem amazing.

Just when i thought i'd gotten off the plastic crack.

Stupid sexy robots.

Third Legion
Best Legion

>they would have already done it with nu-marines if they ever considered doing it.
Why? They've showed first female Stormcasts only after year since AoS launch
ALso, I think we should upgrade level of discussion

I want Esdese and his EC posting to leave.

Superior Third coming through.

They do make a good fluff justification for conversions.

I mean, they're probably the nicest and Fire Warriors ARE better than Guardsmen, but we have another billion Guardsmen and half billion Skitarii, which are probably around as good as a Fire Warrior even before the techpriests Assume Direct Control. How many planets do Tau have now, and how many dudes roughly on each one? Because I bet you can't outLogistics the Admech even if you were willing to be horrifically cruel to your workers.

They are nice, aren't they. I'm looking forward to painting the two I have, I'm just going to speedpaint my way through my Sicarians and Kataphrons so I can get to them faster. Not like you'll see those two unit types much anymore anyway.

I'm working on an Iron Warriors army and I'm wondering how I'd go about correctly carving the eye sockets in pic related to be rounder. What tool would you recommend to round them and not fuck it up?

An all dread army guy here: The dual Kheres Contemptor rates above average efficiency, being an effective anti-light, medium, heavy infantry and light vehicle platform.

With it's 9 inch move it's easily able to reposition if it falls out of range.

It isn't as good as a 7th edition dual kheres C-Mortis simply because the bonus over regular Assault cannons is nowhere near as good: +1 strength is a lot worst than +2 shots, especially in 8th.

Check out /wip/, we just shitpost here.

yeah boi
wow

I have been scouring the net and I cant find anything, does anyone have a scan of Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer.

Does anyone have a copy they could upload?

There isn't a /wip/ open at the moment, it's actually why I posted here

Uh, nice.

I dream of the day they'll get some naked abs guys, though.

That would be the time I return to 40k EC.

Yes.

Because that was the time to introduce new elements in the story. We've established now that nu-marines are the same as old marines in that there are no women in their ranks and no ones thinking of introducing them.

Stormcast could ALWAYS be female and this was mentioned as such in their first relese, it's just that only no-, well, soon(?) we're getting models for them.

Newly converted Guard/Scion guy here (former Tau)
Is Tyranids an interesting race as a third offshoot faction for smaller games?
Mainly so I can bring in friends to play and not have the two same armies all the time.

But not better than Scions.

They dont really look like marines, just fallen sisters.

They're just the basic rules. I'm thinking they'll probably be expanded in the Codex.

In general, though, they're not supposed to be massively better than originals, just marginal improvements.

That said, if you notice on the pricing, you can take the Primaris Captain, I believe, with a Deathwatch army, meaning they're the first Primaris marine that is officially able to be in Deathwatch.

Sure, that or GSC both are.

I agree, they look exactly like men.

This is true, and no matter the numbers of the enemy they can kill so many even the imperium becomes hesitant about a war of attrition.

>GSC
?

No.

Primaris are made like the other space marines, take a regular candidate and implant geneseed.

They have geneseed for ever Legion, traitor, loyal a s the missing 2.

It's safer and a bit faster than the original method too.

Genestealer cults.

Gene
Stealer
Cunts

>safer and faster
I'd love to see 20 man squads of marines.

Is a flamer and combi-flamer tac squad any good?

Last thread people were giving me suggestion about how to use a Dev kit and a Tac kit. Thinking of making at least 2 dev squads, leaving me with a 5 man tac squad. Would probably have one squad with 2 plasma and 2 lass cannons and the other with 2 heavy bolters and 2 with just plain bolters.

Are the melee weapons in the dev kit a trap? Seems so odd the dev sarge would come with so many options when the squad he's with is meant to stay the fuck out of melee.

scared.jpg

>more skilled than Guardsmen
Sure but not more skilled than a Firstborn Guardsmen.

>house rules
They would have the be interesting and correspond to fluff. For example, Regimental doctrines for IG or hive fleet genetic traits for Tyranids.

You posted a picture of a battle that the Tau won and massacred the whole IG force.

Wait we could have Primaris of the missing legions?

you can do a 5 man squad and put them in a razorback and give them flamer + combi-flamer for some good shock factor
they are also pretty good at holding vs. charges because of overwatch fire.
My personal favorite is plasma + combi-plasma for maximum versatilty (although slightly more costly)

Based on Dark Imperium, we'll be getting it. They mention that they did frequently deploy in 20 man squads.

You also can upgrade existing marines, as well as create new ones.

So expect to see Primaris versions of existing characters.

Guilliman is against it, but they wouldn't have mentioned it unless Cawl was going to do something with them anyway.

Emperors Children Resurgent update. I think I'm doing okay. I think I need finer brushes.

But user, you can already play as the successor of one of the lost Legions.

Mortifactors, Doom Eagles and Scythes of the Emperor

I've already got one with plasma+combi-plasma so I was looking for some variety.

Think of Primaris Marines as marines from the legion days.
If you noticed, all the squads have the same equipment (like the Hellblasters) so you can expect some big squads of marines (unless they want you to waste additional force organization slots to get primaris which is fine)

>melee
Well no shit.

That thread was fucking hilarious.

>40k is turning into 30k

Has anyone successfully reattached the helmet on the autobolt lieutenant?

Oh right
Sorry they're so new for me they didn't even come to mind.
Same with custodes.

As a probably vain attempt at a reasonable non-bait answer, fire warriors are worse in melee than guardsmen due to their slower reflexes (but no noted difference in strength or speed, basically just worse reactions to a combat knife to the face which is a bad time to be slow to act), about the same at shooting stuff (better at distance vision but worse depth perception, balances out more or less), and more disciplined than guardsmen (noted as being...well, more disciplined than guardsmen, basically).
This varies heavily however in that whilst the t'au fire warriors are all trained to about the same standard across the empire, the imperium is so absurdly vast that even regular guard can vary in quality anywhere between 'penal legion in all but name' to 'stormtroopers minus hellguns'.

God I fucking love Cawl.

I just enjoy posting pics of died or dying tau. Tell me what happened after this one.

I'm hoping that they'll give the various variant bolt rifles as options to the squads, either as special weapons or across the board. IE: allow them to take Stalker or Auto Bolt Rifle versions of things.

There was a leaked image that looked like a heavier version of a Hellblaster, some are thinking it may be just the full posable kit of them, but wonder if it's not like a true Devestator grade one, and the Aggressors aren't the only ones.

I'd love to see Aggressor be able to take the Assault Bolters Interceptors get, and Interceptors to get the hand flamers, and them BOTH to be able to get Boltstorm Gauntlets. All of those would be fitting options, I think, and give them good variety.

Blame Rawbutt Girlyman
He's mentally stuck in 30k and who knows what he and Big E discussed at the Golden Throne

>Dad, wtf is going on
>idk son, there's no cable here

Which conflict?

GSC can even let you take IG units so it's a no brainier.

>tfw no one gave reason as to why Karanak is or isn't worth his points, only a guy who saw the 6+ save and forgot he had a 5++, and a guy who didn't understand that a 1 always fails
Are Flesh Hounds still good at least? 20ppm

Well, with GSC, you could do a small force of some good Tyranid stuff and if you ever want, you could make a GSC/AM mixed list.

Is Warhammer fun? The actual game I mean. I'm haven't been into arts and crafts since I was in kindergarten.

>and I thought I told them to cut your life support

My personal guess is that the entire squad will have to stick with the same gear choices a là legion squads.
Those hellblasters look like an alternate version of the normal ones, just with fancy backpacks for their plasma incinerators (kinda like some IG units do with their special weapons) but let's wait and see

I personally can't wait for a new DA codex maybe we'll get something cool, like restoring the other 4 wings from the Heresy days

Eh, I guess if summoned in, yeah, otherwise I worry about them being able to get into combat. They're shockingly not really all that fast compared to a lot of things. When they get there, could be nasty, but for 20 points a piece? I feel like it's a bit much.

If you just want a dice and miniature game I honestly recommend X-wing Miniatures Game.

Legion Squads can't take special or heavy weapons?

Guard are the best bs4+ army there is now. I've been out-shooting tau for weeks.

Yeah, if you've got good folks to play it with.

I have Armada. No one else wants to play. They want to paint little army men instead.

No lights?
They deserved it.

Its fun, but avoid anything even remotely competitive.
The game is all about building slowly your army, assembling, painting it, having a few games now and then(2 hours per game minimum at average lenght).
The game is not balanced, it will never be but its really fun if you dig into it.
Its more than just "i wanna throw dice"tho because its more a full hobby that will sink your time and money for at least 20 years.

Sexy

I'd play with you
Well as long as you enjoy painting and assembling minis it's a fun game.

I'm looking forward to Codex Space Marines so my 20-man Intercessor squads will match range with Tau and be honestly better because while both will wound on a 3+ but Primaris will have the -1 AP.

Would 8th edition be more balanced if all Lords of War and Flyers were banned?

They are okay.

They work wonder if you get some Fiends of Slaanesh too.

Sauce?

Looks cool, what is it just a special vindicator?
