>How many of you fags have played Promethean?
>Who's the main antagonist?

Matt McFarland, also of Beast fame.

Rate my idea for a Changeling PC.

A noble but arrogant professor of history with a love of medieval stuff and fantasy stories, who is admired his students and colleagues but has many troubles with his family. He was taken in by his Keeper by the promise to experience a world just like the ones he so dearly imagined as a coping mechanism. But his Durance ended up being more like something out of Dark Souls than any classic chivalric tale, for the Keeper delighted in breaking spirits to see what people are truly made of and believe in. The professor was turned into a Soldier, and earned his Ogre Seeming by casting away all pretence of escapism and elitism, and beating his dragon Keeper in an epic duel. Now he serves the Summer Court and wants to invent his own version of the chivalric tale to go down in history.

Would any kind anons here happen to have the Demon Translation Guide? It's not in any of the troves and I need those sweet Demon Form options for my game.

I just want Changeling or Geist to be the in the top two and for mage to drop off, I see very little of worth for them in the fucking golden age of piracy.

mega.nz/#!hXIiCbLA!oQCewPxXbw2pMSkHR_GDH6YP1-ZnGTr9efTdpWh5usg
Try this, and could someone upload this to the other troves?

Mage has explicit lore set around piracy though, and rogue agents vs order is kind of a big theme for them. How would Changeling fit?

Also, poll update: Mage has overtaken Geist by around 70 votes and is on the track to overtake Changeling.

...

Looks like all the boteres and people voting multiple times (for Mage and Changeling) might blow it for everyone. kickstarter.com/projects/200664283/chronicles-of-darkness-dark-eras-2/comments

Changelings being hunted by huntsmen is close enough to pirates being hunted by the Admiralty or Privateer/pirate hunters. Plus the sea would be a great place to hide from the gentry and the like because of the isolation and freedom of movement on top of being able to found freeholds based around ship crews or fleets.

Reasons for voting

Geists: voodoo, ghosts, skeletons n' shit
Mages: actual background lore
Changelings: just because

Yup, Changeling fags are ass.

>Changelings: just because

Hey now, i do have a reason to vote for changeling. So there is less mage around

What background lore?

Have you even read the previous thread?

in the pirates of the carribean series, the monsters who are not undead are more like changelings. lost at sea, dragged under the waves and returned to the surface changed forever.

and let's face it, PotC is the only thing people think about when the age of sail is raised these days.

Does that answer my question?

Davy Jones and his crew just doesn't strike me as anything Changeling related, sorry.

See There's also Dave's recent comment on the matter over on the OPP forums.

Uploading to my Trove now. Will be done in a moment. Thanks! Also, if you happen to find BtP: Building a Legend please send a link. I'm actually really wanting to read this. It's supposed to explain a lot more of the Primordial Dream in detail.

Man I didn't even think of that when I was thinking of ways to make Changeling work.

Thank you, and yeah, PotC doesn't really strike me as changeling more like... I dunno, really, reminds me more of geist for the first movie, I guess???

Because in WoD, Mages genuinely mean well and are trying to create a better world as they see it. Except the Nephandi, who have sold their assholes to the outer gods.

Also Void Engineers are /ourboys/ and dindu nuffin wrong ever.

The problem is they lose sight of the smaller things. This can make people feel like they are assholes. They could thin the Vampire population, take care of a lot of the stuff that goes bump in the night. But they focus on grander things.

They're like the Templars in AC before the series went to shit.
They're trying to make the world better, but they just go about it in a somewhat dickish way.

>They're trying to make the world better, but they just go about it in a somewhat dickish way.

That's a valid interpretation of all the Orders in Awakening, except the Seers.

>They're trying to make the world better, but they just go about it in a somewhat dickish way.
>That's a valid interpretation of all the Orders in Awakening,

Those are the Lies the Pentacle tells themselves to justify their actions and help them sleep at night.

Remember this the next time you hear the screams from a Mystagogue's laboratory.

Oh come on, not soundproofing your operation theatre is poor vivisection form.
Some of us need our specimens to not expect excruciating pain for accurate results, and don't have immediate access to thought-modification items.

Davy Jones and the Kraken would be more up the alley of Beast, as well as things like sirens.

Changeling would be stuff like Mermaids.

In a perfect world Golden Age of Piracy would be a crossover era between Geist, Beast, Changeling and Mage.

>All Mystagogues vivisect Sleepers for knowledge

You're conflating the Mysterium with the Jnanamukti and the Daksha. I'm not mad, I just don't find this approach believable or funny.

>BtP: Building a Legend
The only person in this thread who could have it is probably that one user who backed Beast, but i don't think he much cares for it.

>Daksha
What on earth could a "superior" race like the Daksha ever hope to achieve by vivisecting pig-monkeys like Sleepers?

so I just looked at my copy, since I'm a faggot, and realize the fucking book isn't even 60 pages long, fucking christ.

The reporter?

Sleepers didn't fuck up all of reality, Mages did. Is that really a measure of a master race?

It's the best proof of all, even the fuckups are on a cosmic scale, the likes of which mortals couldn't dream of.

>Sleepers didn't fuck up all of reality, Mages did. Is that really a measure of a master race?

Who else besides mages bends reality to their will alone. You serve the Exarchs and don't even know it. They need not be nice or kind, by they are indeed superior.

>Davy Jones and the Kraken would be more up the alley of Beast, as well as things like sirens.
Beasts just look boring and normal though. All the monsters shown throughout the series that aren't skeletons look exactly like changelings.

>Disney show suggested setting

Nani the fuck desu, Beast

>A game of TV-Y7 Personal Horror

Are you saying whoever has the Might is inherently Right? I'm sorry, but I think you're better off serving the Raptor or the Prophet.

You got to start the kiddies young

Might makes Might, I don't see why you have to drag morality into it.

I worry that it'll lead to someone making a pedophile beast. because of course it would, that's what happens in beast, according to its fucking creator.

Because it makes for a boring character if that is the whole of their philosophical beliefs.

Besides, if you live by the sword, you die by the sword. Not everyone who proudly shouts "Might Makes Right!" understands that.

We suggest you buy our book and watch a FUCKING TIM BURTON FILM for beast inspiration :)

Give proof or you're full of shit.

I mean, yeah I'm full of shit, I was being hyperbolic over the playtest he did and how they where all monsters.

If you set out to murder someone and enslave their family, and then murder them and enslave their family, then that's not a fuckup, that's you doing exactly what you meant to. Sure, your new slaves might disagree, but that's why you keep them away from the weapons, and throw them trinkets whenever they sell each other out to you.

Unless you're talking about something other than the Exarchs here?

What can the Exarchs actually do other than crap out huge loads of Ochemata?

Are they pure plot-device?

Could they? Remember, this isn't awakening where Consequences are easy to cheat.

My point about Might Makes Right is essentialy covered in .

This is from the new sourcebook?

Well, no, I fully agree with you. I'm just noting that it's not a fuckup if that was, in fact, your whole end-goal.

If you plan on being a terrible person and are a terrible person, then you succeeded. You're still a terrible person, but that's completely unrelated.

Fuck you, burton's batman was dynamite

I'm not saying it wasn't but for BEAST, fuck off man.You really want them "associated" with each other?

Heeeell yea my man.

Then your argument makes sense. Carry on, friend.

It's not that they'll be associated. It's that both Batman and Beasts have a dark hunger which they nominally try to put to a good use, with varying levels of success and acceptance.

>Batman
>Dark Hunger
so he's a rich playboy who has jungle fever?

>>theroguefeminist.tumblr.com/post/56658099133/queer-codedqueer-coding

Well, i got aids now....."thanks" user for that

I don't get the joke, sorry. I was referring to a hypothetical Beast!Batman's Hunger for Punishment, which he Feeds by fighting crime.

Yeah I heard they had some setting ideas like Gotham and Stephen King's Maine and Lovecraft. I cannot wait to actually read it.

>What is jungle fever?
this your first day on the internet isn't it? Well the porn is over there. please feel free to google and fap

From the name, it suggests that it's about programming really gay computers, but I'm guessing it's far more retarded.

He's saying Batman/Beasts wanna fuck black women

Its about making villains seem queer or have stereotypical queer characteristics to make them off putting. I thought it was going to be something a lot worse.

>Must Kill The Batman

We'll kill the Bantam with this naked man and a gun.

This joke is getting old. How about...

BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL.jpg

>We'll kill the Bantam with this naked man and a gun

Gun or no gun, I wouldn't fuck with Swole Jawa. He's so impressive that he doesn't even need pants.

Pants serve the Lie

He's probably wearing a thong. You just can't see it.

Yes. They give prelacies, answers through signs around the seers, artifacts and all these bullshit.

They are kinda rulers of the universe. They don't need to do much. On Seer's book it's even questioned if Exarchs even care and they speculate it's just a bunch of Archmages pretending to be them.

Also, on "Night Horrors: The unbidden" book talks about a mysterious Wind that's actually a fragmentes mind of a Exarch who tried to go back to the fallen world, but the Abyss destroyed him into tiny pieces. I use this Wind on my metaplot.

I read the rest of the post....fuuuck.

You're thinking of Buttman

I just don't see what the problem is

Bag, you're getting a Swell

Just to show you how bad this art is? I showed this to a friend of mine who doesn't WoD and her first response was 'What is this awful Batman fan art?'

So good job, OPP.

>Gotham City a suggested setting for CofD inspiration

I guess Aspel finally got to write for CofD after all.

I miss Aspel

>I miss Aspel

>Blasphemy!

But once Aspel left the Magefags came in full force.

Truly Aspel was the gatekeeper and we made a grave mistake by driving that creature away.

They didn't go anywhere, they're just on Twitter if you can find them.

>you unknowingly snag the last cinnamon roll on display from a mage

What happens?

Dead

>What happens?

You are the cinnamon roll now

>Dead

They would beg for such mercy.

>Can cast Apocalypse, and am not afraid to use it

>PotC is the only thing people think about when the age of sail is raised these days.
Hey now, I think about Alestorm.

these threads were better with the old namefags

Feedback requested on the following homebrewed Supernatural Merits.

Forge Elemental (•••••)
Prerequisite: Psychokinesis (•••••)
Effect: You may give a measure of independence to a patch of your chosen element. After activating Psychokinesis, you may roll Intelligence + Crafts or Medicine to turn the patch into a temporary Retainer with a dot rating equal to Successes on the Resolve + Occult roll (maximum 5) as an instant action, which is usually humanoid but may have other forms. They obey a number of simple commands for one scene equal to your Resolve + Occult (e.g. attack that person, steal that object, protect this building). They roll Retainer dots x 2 for carrying out these commands. Health and Speed are equal to Retainer x 2, while Defense and Initiative are equal to just Retainer. They are immune to bashing damage and Tilts related to their element, but filling their Health with lethal damage or exposing them to an opposing element destroys them immediately (e.g. water for fire, rubber for electricity, fire for ice). Note that carrying out ambiguous commands reduces this dice pool to just their Retainer dots, and that they will only communicate if instructed to do so (which they do by shaping their element). They are also considered to have Psychokinesis 3 for the element that composes them, which they may use to alter themselves or an external instance of the element, with their Retainer dots x 2 as a dice pool (they must be instructed to do so, and how). Each such elemental after the first costs an additional point of Willpower to create. You may have a number of elementals active equal to your Resolve.

Drawback: When the elementals fail at carrying out ambiguous instructions, their rolls are downgraded into Dramatic Failures.

[Continued In The Next Post]

Forge Elemental (Advanced, • to •••••)
Prerequisite: Resolve •••, Occult ••, Forge Elemental
Effect: You may have [Resolve x your rating in this Merit] elementals active at any time, and each point of Willpower spent creates [highest between Resolve and dots in this Merit] elementals. Your elementals may now last for a number of extra scenes equal to your dots in this Merit.
Drawback: Each additional scene inflicts one lethal damage.

Forge Elemental (Epic, • to •••••)
Prerequisite: Resolve •••, Occult ••, Forge Elemental (Advanced, Equal Or Higher Level)
Effect: Each elemental is considered to have Psychokinesis 5 for the element that composes them. You may also spend an additional point of Willpower and roll Resolve + Occult, with Success allowing you to bestow a number of additional Supernatural Merits to all your elementals equal to your dots in this Merit, which cannot be Advanced or Epic. You must have these additional Supernatural Merits yourself, the elementals will have the same rating as you and roll Retainer x 2 to use them.

What the fuck, Geist is losing on the Pirates poll.

I typically think of shit I learned from documentary's.... And assassins creed or Seventh Sea. I like pirates.

It's really bad. Changeling fags are desperate at this point.

It's a good game, good enough to get extra books instead of... one.

He can't possibly be using his real surname on the internet, right.

twitter.com/Rory__Walker

As long as mage doesnt win

As long as changeling doesn't win

I just want to be a ghost pirate.

>curiouscat.me/RoryWalker

>Aspel is an anarchist
Wut

Geist supremacy!

It's like trying to steal food away from a starving orphan. Geist is the most starved gameline of CofD, I'd be content with this being the only stretch goal era for the gameline just so it can get back the chance it was denied in the last Dark Eras book.

I know things have been rough with the CtL2 Hill incident. But the book is almost out and it doesn't look bad, you're even getting an Anthology and Hedge book with it.
