>yfw it's just copy pasted from 7E >yfw Ultramarines basically get triple the CP and double the strategems per turn as every other chapter
Jaxson Gutierrez
Do you think GW will release another loyalist Primarch or are we just getting Robooty while two traitor Primarchs run amok?
Parker Hall
Reminder that taking a single squad of Dominions in your Imperial army adds ~60 S4 shots every turn for 110pts and might be some of the best dakka in the game.
Andrew Torres
3rd for Justice Planned
Anthony Bell
You know they will. Probably Lion. They're gonna release Angron and Fulgrim too.
Jonathan Morales
Fifth for Ferrus Manus in a dreadnought tended to by the servo-skulls of his clones
Easton Moore
> Lion, Russ, Corax All easy wins and plot developers.
> Khan, Dorn, Vulkan Variously dead/imprisoned and might come about as the end result of a campaign.
> Ferrus, Sanguinius Dead.
We might see Fulgrim though, that would be neat.
Camden Wright
It would definitely be more interesting for Lion to come back since he'll clash with Roboute on where to take the Imperium.
Justin Cook
Hello there. I am Alpharius
Isaac Phillips
Reckon they'll end up with equal numbers on each side, could end up with some interesting consequences but who am I kidding GW will fuck it up.
John Wright
Fuckin probably. I'm hoping for more bolt weapon shootan bonuses for my fists.
I wonder if raven guard will get +2 to cover buffs or something. Salamanders getting buffs to the shot roll on flamers would be pretty rad. I think scars will get the can fall back and charge hit and run rule that death watch bikers have.
Evan Rodriguez
Are there any decent Iron Hands novels?
William Collins
Fulgrim? Aka, the one where ferrus isnt dead?
Wyatt Rodriguez
54 points actually. They're perfectly fine for that price. If they get some inflitation type rule in the codex they'll be amazing
Gabriel Gray
Theres not even any decent Iron hands.
Jacob Ortiz
If I make a Chaplain Dreadnought my warlord, which trait would benefit him more? +1A or +1Ld Aura?
John Scott
>marine players don't complain Is this accurate? I feel like marine players get countless new toys every edition but still complain constantly
Henry Perez
It's because even our new toys are lackluster as hell. Boltguns barely hurt guardsmen now.
Elijah Walker
Post the most meme tier list for 8th
Benjamin Wood
It's 4 different super heavy detachments.
Ryan King
9 Dreadnoughts, 5 walking, 4 deep striking via pods. Some artillery if the points allow.
Lincoln Anderson
HQ - Changeling Troops - 81x 10 Horrors (9 Brimstone Horrors, 1 Blue Horror) Troops - 17 Horrors (16 Brimstone Horrors, 1 Blue Horror) 2000 pts total 83 smites, 4++, -1 to hit on every unit
Camden Edwards
>vulkan >dead Top lel :^)
James Ward
>boltguns ineffective now I feel like that complaint is appropriate to literally every faction that didn't get rekt by S4 AP5 profiles.
Eldar? Yup Sisters? You bet Tau? Sure thing (although mostly because their weapons wound on 3+ instead of 2+). Chaos? unless you're thousand sons yep.
Necrons came out okay with -1ap gauss rifles guaranteeing that the best save you can get is a 3+.
Andrew Nguyen
Most the 8e hate comes from individual core rules/"abstractions" that require too much suspension of disbelief for players. Stuff like Imperial Bastion Beyblades or anti-aircraft flamethrowers.
Most 8e defenders defend it by saying "it's not 7e." 7e's problems were less in core rules (it didn't need a fucking FAQ for squad coherency), so much as the extraneous random charts and the codexes.
Both are shit for different reasons. How would you make 40k unsuck?
Jose Bell
A CC specialist is going to eat those things alive.
Drop one and pick up a metric fuckload of drones to offload wounds onto.
Robert Ward
Take lotr and make it that instead. Armageddon and movement trays for if you want lots of bodies to fling.
Jacob Nguyen
He said meme, not good.
David Johnson
I'd play with people who aren't on the spectrum
Jack Thomas
All I know is I've played about 20 games of 8th and every one of them has been fun save for one against a professional rules lawyer 7th was about a 1:3 bad game to good game ratio Of course none of that matters because most people on Veeky Forums don't even play 40k :^)
Justin Cox
In truth you could easily salvage either 7E or 8E. Hell, most 40k editions are salvageable. That's why the game isn't total crap.
Jack Bennett
He should also turn those 3 Stormsurges into a single detachment so he can get an extra Command Point. Because balance.
Nolan Cruz
This unironically. Even 7th could be fun if you didn't play with total WAAC autists.
Jayden Roberts
How many Power Ratings stand for 1000 pts approximately for Orks? I'm making up a purchase plan and for now it seems I will have 74 PR

So I'm thinking of basing a "my dudes" scion regiment off of the DKoK Grenadiers, but I want to replace the heads so they're not just faux-DKoK. How hard do you guys think it would be to remove the heads without damaging the models?

can you even get grenadiers anymore or are you going chinacast?
James Cox
Taught a girl how to competently play 40k in one brief game. Afterwords realized this would have been completely impossible in 7th. My favorite thing about 8th is the death of usrs and the migration of flavor rules to individual units. Learn your 5 sheets and the 4 pages of core rules and you know how to play 40k.
Samuel Hernandez
I like the Woody leg on the base. Makes it seem like Buzz is going for revenge.
Daniel Martin
the only way i can't think right now is drilling their head with different size until you destroy them, just like some people do with metal models
Isaac Adams
I thought that kid was Genki for a moment. Shit, what's the name of that 90's anime where the kid is stuck in a game fighting viruses with racing cars?
Aiden Ross
Probably not that hard if you don't mind destroying the head by clipping it down , what are you going to do about the gas mask tube though?

Chinacast of course, although even at FW prices they'd be cheaper than Scions per model. Good ideas for the head, that's the part that I was unsure of. The tubing I was going to cut with a knife and then file under some water to solve the resin dust problem.
Ian Ward
I actually enjoyed a fair bit of 7e, and found it's possible to play to win without being that guy.
I remember my last 7e game, I ran a Word Bearers Chaos Warband. So a fair bit of obsec, speed, and challenge farming. A spectator asks if it's 7e, I go "yeah, I figure playing Chaos is going for the kill, and slaying their champions in the name of the gods."
"As opposed to?"
"Typhus and Plague Zombies doing nothing while Heldrakes handle everything else. That build is too boring"
*brofist*
I found "just a little" summoning was also just enough to keep things interesting, and offset Eldar players. Tossing Flesh Hounds into Ruins while running MSU really threw off people that wanted to camp Scatpacks behind a Void Shield.
Chase Roberts
What are the chances that absolutely anything model-wise to do with the Alpha Legion will come out within the next five years?
Brandon Phillips
Pretty high if you count FW Horus Heresy stuff.
Isaiah Diaz
Its a conspiracy by GW to keep the death guard men down by holding back mortarion until it's too late to have him ready for the global campaign! RIOT.
Henry Cooper

>viruses with racing cars Idk what the fuck that is but that is genki from monster rancher >tfw monsters rule >tfw all of genki's friends sacrificed themselves to defeat evil
Cameron Morales
If you're starting your turn with 10 Dominion models entirely in Rapid Fire range to get that 2+ Act of Faith shooting, than your opponent is really fucking up
Anthony Hernandez
40k wise, man.
Elijah Gomez
One issue with 6 and 7 is that they added too many USRs. 4e/5e had about 22, 7e has around 80+. And many of the rules have similar names, but do different things, and the rules don't say what they do on the name. So instead of +1 Attack(When Charging), or +1 Strength(when charging), you have Rage and Furious Charge. Or there's Crusader vs Zealot, Hatred vs Preferred Enemy (wouldn't you prefer to attack the enemy you hated most?), etc.
Jayden Hughes
>it was all a dream And I liked the ending where he went home and acted like a bitch until he hallucinate his friends to tell him to cut that shit out.

So, I hate the ugly as fuck metallic alpha Legion. I'm not sure if this is what I want either, though. I wanted a greenish blue, but this is on the Grey side of that. Opinions? I will be painting all helmets white.
Caleb Barnes
Nah, they're just too popular and the molds need to be remade. Same thing is happening to a lot of their older models.
Luke Martinez
I don't think they're squatted, but they're not available on FWs website. I guess the moulds are probably getting old and need replacing
Andrew Rogers
>this many AL posters on Alpharius are you in our presence?
Landon Hughes
Oh that is why they removed them from their store?
Lucas Cook

Personally I found it very frustrating trying to keep track of which USRs on Characters transferred to units versus which didn't and had to constantly check the book
Most are auras now which I find pretty helpful to keep track of

>12 pages of rules is worse than nearly every single unit in the game

Dunecrawlers have a Skitarii Ranger and Vanguard operating the guns/driving the vehicle. 1d4chan's article on Dunecrawlers says both Skitarii are dying slowly inside, but why would the Ranger be dying? The Vanguard is stuck in a fluid filled tank but the fluff I read didn't seem to imply the same for the Ranger, and isn't the same Ranger operating the optional heavy stubber? So he isn't bolted in right? Asked the same question in the last post but was too late to get a reply.
Michael Sullivan
Me, currently drunk and thought it would be funny to avatar-fag
Aaron Clark
Not bring sixth or seventh means a lot. Seventh wasn't even a game.
Camden Williams
It's gross, I am not doing it. Do you have any constructive criticism in regards to non metallic alpha? Some guy posted ones yesterday that looked very similar (even more Grey)
Benjamin Richardson
It must be hard seeing things in such a biased perspective constantly
Jose Clark
The irony is staggering.
Jack Rogers
> someone meme paints a model better than you ever will Pic related
Jayden Butler
I genuinely thought that was unpainted plastic Way too grey imo, though I'm sure it's less so in person
While I really like the metallic, what about the more classic 40k matte edge highlight green over blue ?
Caleb Davis
KDK and Crimson Slaughter had some very fluffy stuff.
