What is the best way to go about writing a character description?

Of a female character

Talk about everything in reference to the size of her rocking tits

yeah...

Four H's. Hair, History, Hobbies, HShort profile

Well, from what I've seen in the drawthreads, you just need to find a picture of your favorite porn starlet and a picture of a girl from an MMO and say you look like the porn girl but you're wearing the MMO costume.

From experience playing Pathfinder, I can confirm it's literally this.

Don't listen to these fools. We don't truly know your character unless we know what she smells like.

What about in a non-lewd way

Describe them like GRRM describes food.

indeed...

I was expecting original and got something much better.

Non-lewd character art?

Unfortunately, her hairstyle is going to trigger the /pol/tards who spend their time searching Veeky Forums for things to get upset about.

...

do it the Shakespearean way

Exactly the same way you would go about write a male character description.

OP here. Thanks for the answers this has really helped.

OP here, this didn't help at all.

Don't focus on details that would only matter to a male character looking at her.

at first glance, her hairstyle looked like a wing of a bird

Make sure to go into detail about her feminine pink mast

This. Write it from a female perspective.

>She's pretty, but not prettier than me.
>She's got, like, no fashion sense.
>She looks like a total bi-atch.
>Her shoes are SO goache.

>It's a Veeky Forums is randomly sexist episode

That's basically what I'm doing with a female character I'm currently playing. It started as a joke and then I just let it keep going.

You're obviously not a women whose been around other women.

Regal like the wings of an eagle.

>people talking about /pol/posters are more common than actual /pol/posters

It's funny, you can always spot the /pol/tards because they're the only ones who care when someone makes fun of /pol/.

no one wants you to mention that hellspawn. now, back on topic

Write about how crazy buff she is. Trust me it's the objective best choice.

Describer her wizards sleeve in depth

remember not to include "is female" as part of her description. Stating gender when it's not important to the setting or something makes it look unnatural.

basically
>Newtty is a female lizard person
to
>This is Newtty, she's a lizard person

Start with three descriptive words, go from there.

In order to avoid just rolling up your waifu what you should do is use a series of charts to generate her appearance randomly, unless you have a very specific character archetype that requires certain features. I always do that when i play a female so that there appearance is separated from my own interests. That way it can be a character and not just an embodiment of what i find attractive.

Remember that when people meet, they don't list their interests or past exploits, or give information on their back story or tell you what makes them tick. Keep descriptions simple and mainly limited to appearance and outward personality. Let the rest of it come out as you play, so the other characters can form a first impression based on more superficial information, and then get to know your character better as they spend time with them, the same way you would a real person in real life.

Presenting your character to a group is effectively the same as introducing one to an audience in a movie, and the same rules apply. You want to establish a basic outline quickly, so they know the archetype they are dealing with, but you don't want to front-load in details and information at the start. People don't care about that stuff until they have formed a connection to the character. If you've been adventuring with a guy a while, and you like him, and you learn that something tragic happened in his past, it makes you more interested. If you are told this up front about a stranger, it has no meaning, and people will tend to ignore it or forget it.
