I did Bad Moons because I liked the idea of fielding loads of Flash Gitz... Until Flash Gitzs became their own thing and aren't tied to any clan.... And the fact that Goff's get 3 special characters and thus are vastly superior to any other Ork clan. Same goes for Necrons, Sautekh are superior to every other despite me loving Trollzyn. Also, Ad Mech are only worthwhile if you play Mars because Cawl is the only named guy and he's awesome.

flamers are only good against fliers if they are fast.
Even then they aren't amazing, S4 vs T7 multiple wounds and decent saves. But they'll put out some wounds but unlikely to take down in one turn.

But again you need to be fast. If you aren't you won't be getting within 8".

I like Sanguinary Guard in looks. They're slightly better than I was expecting based on their SHITE 6th and 7th rules. I also like the Sicarian Punisher tank; but getting anything non-Primaris atm is a waste.

I'm trying to make a party Valkyrie to swoop in first turn and do fun things. Right now it has Straken and Nork, but I was thinking of these options.

- Straken + Nork + 2x Command squads with Plasma Guns
- Straken + Nork + Priest + Inquisitor with Plasma Pistol and Maul + 6 -Acolytes with Plasma Pistols and Mauls
- Straken + Nork + Priest + 1x Command Squad with Plasma Guns + Inquisitor with Plasma Pistol and Maul + 2 Acolytes with Plasma Pistols and Mauls

Inquisitor would know Smite and Terrify. I'm torn because the Command squads would do the most initial damage, but wouldn't do much in melee and might die to overwatch. The Inquisitor being there would potentially prevent overwatch and possibly more deaths during morale. Acolytes wouldn't do much in shooting or melee, but they'd keep the Inquisitor going for longer and would still have a chance to hurt things in melee and shooting.

hemlock isn't exactly a flamer, it's outhit, but it's 18", and on a fast body (like I said). And it's S10.
Wraithguard have to be starting with a wave serpent within 18" of the plane. And S10, not your normal flamer and much more expensive because.
Immolators. S5 isn't better than S4 vs T7. I mean it will do 7 hits, 3 wounds, half saved, so a few wounds. And again, fast.

will mixing mk4 packs with the traditional chaos packs (i know its not only a chaos thing) be fluffy?

It was stated by the devs in an interview during the 8th ed preview months.

I would expect it to start happening after they finish getting the generic Primaris releases out. For example the Blood Angels Codex will probably come with Primaris [BA special character] among some other things.

After running some flying crap and flamers

It easy as fuck to trap those flying stuff, since they are basically forced to move in a square.
The only army that can use flamer as anti air is SoB, mostly due to AoS allowing two rounds of shooting during the same turn.

That said it is far more easy to just ignore the thing and force it to hover.
