>CC15 >no melee skills >shitty AP ccw What is the point of having this fancy sword? Why pick a pose that has only minimal thematic relation to the model?
Luke Torres
You are a fucking scrub if you don't think surprise attack is a worthwhile melee skill.
Christian Gray
>What is the point of having this fancy sword? a justification for not holding his weapon with both hands
Which is a shame, because the HI holding their guns properly are pretty much always the coolest ones.
Robert Perry
>zweihander >a justification for not holding his weapon with both hands you what
Jason Adams
You know exactly what he means.
Chase Clark
it was either a sword or a tactical fist, and they've been getting flak for the tactical fists lately
Dylan Thomas
I know that if I had to use that model I'd cut the sword and give him a pointing finger.
Justin Flores
Nah, "the floor is lava" jumpers will take the heat this time.
Adrian Martin
I think the whole pose moves them away from their old niche of unopposed rolls that end you, towards a new N3 direction of suppressive fire in the middle of the board. Less agile, more commanding - sword is just a sort of four foot long taunting device.
Still, the old Swiss is one of my favourites in the whole range, so it's a shame to see it phased out.
Jace Kelly
I eagerly await the player who throws their Swiss guard into CC, surprise attack on CC15 with a weapon that only really works on other heavies
Liam Sanders
Like a suppressing TAG
Colton Ross
A suppressive fire TAG that's in CC distance of a Swiss? When's that going to happen? Is it on suppression behind a bunch of LoS blocking terrain? Did you have to zigzag across the board to get there, and still wound up inside its front arc? If the opponent fucked up positioning that badly you're likely to have better options.
Andrew Price
Friends first try at painting it came out as Abraham Lincoln. Freedom for antipodes !!
Josiah Stewart
I'll take, "Things that never happen in Infinity for $200, Alex."
Julian Myers
A TAG going into supp fire, or a Swiss Guard CCing a suppressing TAG? Because the latter is pretty unlikely but the former is a major part of using any TAG.
Anthony Young
>inb4 they get updated statline as well >still a cheapass ripoff of the Hac Tao
Blake Powell
Of course the Swiss Guard going into CC. It has amazing BS, main weapon, and TO to nuke a TAG at range.
Leo Gomez
Wouldn't he want his forearm in front of the magazine?
Thomas Nelson
I'm more pissed he's not using a halberd.
James Perez
Measuring:
Only after you declare the shot or whenever you want?
Charles Green
If you're just learning the game and trying to get a feel for learning how to guess measure, by all means.
Otherwise, declare your shots and roll the dice. Calculated risks are the only acceptable ones. You can measure Zone of Control whenever I think.
Levi Watson
Do they say in the rules anywhere?
iirc Warmachine says "measure whenever you want" and it's fucking awesome. I like the minor sense of control before you let the dice gods decide your fate.
Aaron Young
Are you asking about rules or preference? Because there's no premeasuring in Infinity.
Henry Phillips
Either. Does it say in the rulebook somewhere?
Matthew James
Unfortunately Infinity has no premeasuring at all. You are supposed to declare everything before hand and measure after. Even movement is technically supposed to be "I move around this corner here and get in base to base with the window" then measure and see if you actually make it there, though I've never seen anyone actually play it that way. It sucks a lot with zone of control because you're just supposed to declare orders and if they end up being illegal you idle. I wish they'd switch to premeasure.
Hmm, what to do, a one hit on DAM 14 with a -3 on the TAG or 4 shots on DAM 15 with a -12? Tough choice.
Josiah Adams
Ooof, yeah I hope they move to pre-measure. It just makes the game so much nicer, especially since it feels like this game has a lot more moving pieces than other games like Warmachine and 40k.
Easton Sanchez
Haven't checked in a long long time, what state is the rpg in?
Nolan Richardson
*-6 But yeah, SG is the unit to tie into CC, not the other way around.
Ayden Hill
Based on the posts here, the corebook is in it's final error checks and only some of the splatbooks are missing?
Kayden Nguyen
I have the ISS starter set, the red veil yu jing part, a box of wu mings and a box of kung chis. What else should I get if I plan to play ISS and later vanila yu jing.
Logan Phillips
Rui Shi box. Gives you MSV for when you leave the Hsien at home [especially lower-points starter games], can be easily proxied as the ever handy Weibing Remote, has great synergy with Celestial Guard LGL, and is just an awesome unit.
Henry Thompson
I only have the rifle armed Celesial Garudo from the starter set. how important is it to get a saphortech, I was told it is the first model I should get, but am not sure about it. It is just one model, and I wouldn't be able to use it in vanila yu jing .
Aaron Turner
Anyone who objects to you using a Celestial Combi instead of a Combi+LGL is a douche, just tell them what it is at the start.
As for Sophie. She's the only medic you get in ISS, a decent objective grabber and a massive support to the WuMing team since she heals and insures against hacking effects. If you are going all in on the heavy link I think she's essential, if not, she's good but optional.
Austin Gray
How bad do you want to play Vanilla?
If you don't have REMs, get on the the three kits and proxy if you're on a budget.
Set aside some cash for the new Beyond Red Veil set.
Single blisters for ISS, I'd recommend the Kanren, Garuda, Zhanying Hacker, or Wu Ming HRL. Can also pick up the Su Jian box.
For Vanilla, grab one of the Hac Tao or Yan Huo.
Adrian Reyes
If you are playing ISS get a Sophotect. They are easily one of the best specialists in the game.
If you mostly want to play vanilla and sometimes ISS she can wait.
Jaxson Davis
people here are rather strickt as far as WYSIWYG goes. I could try to convert one, but I don't know if the LGL form the wu ming will be of the proper size.
I want to start with ISS, mostly because my store had a buy 3 get the cheapest one at 25% and the wu ming box looked tasty.
Will the beyond boxs ever get split, like red veil was? I don't want to pay for the haqqislam models.
I think I'll get the kanren and the wu ming HRL. don't know what the third blister should be, tomorrow is the last day of promotion.
If I got the sophotect, would I have to paint it like aleph units in white?
Nathan Lewis
>If I got the sophotect, would I have to paint it like aleph units in white?
Do you need to hold hands while crossing the street?
Alexander Parker
well, kind of , as use a wheel chair to go around. But I understand what you want to say. I was worried that I would have to have one white model in a sea of orange and green.
Josiah Brooks
Ouch. Burn!
But they're your models, you can paint them all pink and green if you'd so like.
Hudson Williams
nah man. it is cool. no worries. Really happy I can paint what ever I want them. I come from a w40k background and people here get a bit arsholy about painting stuff the proper way.
Charles Butler
Those boxes will probably go on sale in August. So late in the month is when they will hit stores. I know Shae will get it about halfway through the month. Or find someone interested in the Haqq side at your store and split it. I find the latter to be easier if you have a good play group.
Sadly, my group died out long ago.
I'm gonna get the Nomads and the Yu Jing ones for sure. So I'd need some trades as well.
Brandon Bennett
Yeah, usually people are pretty relaxed with models. Proxies and unusual colour schemes are by no means rare.
Josiah Garcia
There is 0 chance anyone at my store is going to play an islam faction, so no spliting for me. All the models look nice though, wish they put yu jing in a box with nomads or ariadna.
Thomas Jenkins
No one gives a shit if you don't paint your Yu Jing the proper shade of orange. In fact, even the new books include examples of various color schemes for each faction.
I like to paint my ISS Aleph stuff in a separate scheme but with a common element, here it's police blue my ISS has. And everything mimetic is getting painted in my YJ camo scheme.
Eli White
And am happy about it. At my store when I still tried to play w40k, people were refusing to play other people, because their tau were painted the wrong color, or their ultramarines had the wrong color of helmets on their sternguard etc.
Gabriel Carter
>but I don't know if the LGL form the wu ming will be of the proper size Google "infinity unit unpacks", find the Celestial KSCD or a Keisotsu LGL, get the precise measurements from there. It's a very simple mod - the tube and whatever the spike underneath is. Unless you really want the new design LGL.
Jack Diaz
It's a good thing. If someone refuses to play you because your (assuming decently painted) army doesn't match their strict interpretation of the fluff, you most likely dodged a bullet.
Grayson Rogers
>I come from a w40k background and people here get a bit arsholy about painting stuff the proper way. That is entirely meta dependent, no one gave a shit about my guard not being green. Autists gotta autist.
Carter Roberts
Well not saying it is not the case, but I only have one store where I can play, and those are the same people. People here do everything possible as long as it is within the RAW rules, so if infinity has no rules for model looks it is one less problem for me.
Charles Ramirez
Infinity doesn't even follow its own lore when it comes to colours sometimes. In one article it is described how people were awed by Sepulchres' blue armours adorned with white capes. Yet this is the official scheme.
Grayson Price
Bad meta troll please kill yourself.
Aaron Williams
Since when is being happy about some rule, and being thankful for good advice trolling ?
Easton Long
Wow, rude.
John Morgan
(You) Also, there's an off chance that he's a new player in a shitty meta. Even if not, actual advice is good counter-trolling as opposed to your post
Blake Russell
All the splats are still in the works. We've seen some of the adventures from AHS, and one of the faction books is with CB, but the rest are either in first draft stage of preliminary planning.
Asher Flores
eBay and Bartertown is your friend then. I bet you could sell the Haqq stuff super easy.
Camden Gutierrez
Are there many players here that actually want both sides of the Beyond sets? I feel like Cho is going to be busy trying to keep up with breaking these.
Eli Harris
>Tunguska incoming edition
Be still my beating heart.
Nathan Perez
I am so looking forward to them.
Anthony Russell
Looks like the yujing mu ming backpack on a morat with taskmaster legs and a jotum backpack.
Pumped for more tongue-tongue though.
Easton Ortiz
I'm excited for all of them but tunguska holds a special place in my heart out of three. Don't know why but out of the three it seems the coolest of the ships.
Oh one last final thing give me the white banner vs. hyper power nordic block you Spanish fucks. I have a hard on on for winter combat and mountaineer troops and seamen along with power armored Chinese don't do it for me.
Leo Young
>a justification for not holding his weapon with both hands
The HMG's have antigravity stabilizers on them. Why do you think the old Aquila can brandish it gangsta style?
Brayden Turner
There isn't an "official scheme" according to the lore.
In a future with nanofabrication and motherfucking AI powered resurrection, changing the color on a cape isn't really that big of a deal.
Bentley Adams
Power armor and synthetic muscle suit?
Elijah Baker
A lot of players collect both sides of O:IS. Not so much for Haqq/YJ that I can tell.
Elijah Nguyen
I'm getting both for exclusives and I play Haqq. Can pass some cost onto friends that play the others.
Matthew Nguyen
Yeah, Tunguska and interventors were the reason why I got in to infinity. A group of hackers keeping an off grid space based 'bank'? Sounded tight. Then I started and everything was mostly space security guards or space hippies/convent. Space cops aren't too bad and zeroes/riotgrrls are fun, but I'm excited to finally play the space banker/hacker faction I started the game for.(without doing vanilla at least, I made sure to get my fill of interventors there but it's not the same)
Daniel Anderson
I want both for RV expansion; All of the YJ looks so fucking good, and the Hassassin models are my favorites of all the new minis (Tarik looks awesome, but I dont really use him). Only the ABH, Bolt, and Intruder from the IS interest me though.
Lincoln Nelson
So the WYSIWG was for warhammer and not infinity, right? There aren't even models for a lot of profiles so be sure to point that out, as well as the fact that there is proxying in literally every other event/location even up to the international ITS championship.
Nathan Myers
I'm a Haqq player, but I've been keeping my YJ models to use as a guest army. Maybe I'll even paint them some day.
Nolan Powell
From what I have been told as long as the weapon is the right one, and there is no huge difference in size, people do not care. The guy I have been learning the game from uses the zanshis from the yu jing part of red veil as jap dudes, but to use one with a heavy weapon he had to buy the 4 man box. Mediks, hackers, engineers seem could be the same dude. But no using a zanshi as a wu ming or something like that, and even less if the weapons are different.
Owen Price
>2017 >playing Swiss Guard >not playing TOHAA >ishygddt
Go play Shithammer 40k (8th edition pls) if you just want to play space marines.

I'm sorry, it's been so long since I've seen one in an Infinity thread I forgot what they are like.
Nathan Rivera
Damn, now I want it. It should be easy enough to convert, with that pose.
Jace Carter
Swiss Guard also have a baller color scheme, way better than what PanO came up with.
Nolan Ross
Haqqislam Problems
I love HMG Al Fasid so fucking much. I need help being convinced that I shouldn't run him in every list I make.
Jaxson Miller
Just take HRL instead!
But I feel you. I tend to take one or the other in every list I make. Outside QK my Azra'ils haven't seen the table in months because of them.
Levi Martinez
How do you even go about painting (or even assembling) infinity. I got a icestorm box and my head spins.
Luis Torres
Simple really, get superglue, a drill and some wire/thin metal rods for assembly, and non-shit brushes (I recommend Series 7s) for painting. It's not as daunting as it seems.
Bentley Jones
>superglue, a drill and some wire/thin metal rods Supeerglue + styrofoam (dissolved in the superglue) also works incredibly well. It's the lazy man's pinning.
Brayden Flores
What stops it from hardening/how to apply?
Blake Kelly
Put a bit of super glue on one side, put a bubble of styrofoam on it, apply somee superglue to it (ideally it'll be thinly covered), wait for it to dissolvee (usually within 5-10 seconds) and press the other part of the model to it. Then wait for a few minutes and scrape off the inevitable excess. It's a bit hard to control depending on the quality of your glue (shouldn't be too runny) but it sticks likee crazy.
Blake Morgan
I apologize for my broken 'e' key.
Ryder White
That shotgunner guard is a conversion from genestealer cultists? Damn GW, when will you finally release a plastic shotgun kit. I don't care anymore, but it's been long enough.
On the subject of shotguns, I wonder if BSG Kamau will be 2 pts cheaper than Combi one, like the Wildcat, although that guy has a few things different from the standard one as well. Assuming it's not a mistake like with the Moderators, who ended up not getting BSGs.
Brandon Fisher
all the profiles with shotguns usually tend to be cheaper
Isaiah Jackson
Boarding shotguns are 1 point cheaper than combis, so probably. CB doesn't tend to arbitrarily fuck around with point prices for weapons the way they do with SWC. You can generally rely on HMGs being 8 points, spitfires being 6, mk12s being 5, etc.
Joshua Bell
I fucking love pinning and am too lazy to get styrofoam. Still, that's a good idea.
James Bell
Never would've thought of this and having come from 40k, Infinity is too delicate for me to pin. If those thrice cursed gakis fall apart I'll give this a shot.
John Lee
How's the RPG like?
