CYOA - Awoo Edition

What do I do once I've avenged him though?

Fall

Go home and be a family man.

Do good for people, smite the wicked etc.

I vaguely remember seeing this before. I guess it's an abandoned WIP?

Marry a succubus.

...

...

>asks how did you fall
>doesn't provide what happens after that
Okay, so what now?

Anyone have the Star Wars cyoa? Can't find it in the pastebin

>Magic
Life
>Specialty
Healing
Summoning
Plants

I'll be honest, I'm only picking summoning to bang nymphs and dryads. It's what Danny DeVito would want.

What was the name of that one slave market cyoa? Not the one where the only slaves were elves, though if anyone remembers the name of that one, that'd be great too.

>Earth Wizard
>Geology Specialist
>Summoning
>Magnetism Specialist

The depths of the Earth hold many treasures. Gold ore yet to be smelted, gems yet uncut, such wealth that many men would kill for. For one such as I, such wealth will be easy pickings.
Deep into the earth I shall dig, summoning golems and perhaps trolls to aid me. So far deep I shall dig that only the most hardened of adventurers can dare to enter. There I shall build my fortress, my home, my base of operations.
Here, my golems and trolls shall dig, dig, and dig some more. They dig where I sense ore, they dig where I sense gemstones. They dig where I sense the treasures of Hades himself. And they will bring it back to me.
At my forge, I shall smelt the ores, drawing forth the strength of Iron, Titanium, Gold, Silver, Platinum, Copper, Bronze, and more. I shall cut the gems, turning sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds into the finest of gems. From these refined materials, I shall forge a trove of treasure the world had never before seen.
Of course, many of these treasures will be naturally unmagical, but that can be remedied rather quickly. All it takes are some negotiations with several enchanters and my hoard shall have a tinge of the arcane.
After all of this is done, I shall issue my challenge. Not a proud proclamation, but through legend and rumors. Rumors about a hoard of gold deep within the Earth, guarded by trolls, gargoyles, and golems. Even Hades himself guards it, some say.
So, adventurer, care to test your luck?

This one?

...

...

That is pretty much exactly the same build I go for most of the time, so instead I'll go with something a little different.

>Water Wizard

>Pressure Specialist
>Enchanting
>Summoning

Travel to the oceans where my power is at its peak and my aging stops, then summon up some leviathan and krakens for home defense and sirens and mermaids for lovin'. Enchanting is there to give me a bartering chip with the surface world. Pressure seems like the most utilitarian school for a purely aquatic wizard.

Hey. Posting this old thing again. Is it the most recent version? Is the author still around?

Page 2

I like this Cyoa but its another one of those things that suffers from drawbacks far, far outweighing the bonus they provide

Small patch, haven't had time to add much since the last update.
Give me your builds.
You can do a regular one, and a hardcore one... If you want... (I don't have a gun pointed at you).

Update 2.3.1:
>Vegetarian Food name changed to Veggies, to properly fit the intention of this option.
>Added a basic kitchen as an example of basic amenities of a small apartment in the description, to make clear that you can use that for lower cost options on the food topic.
>Specified that the ageless aspect of the granted years for hardcore is only after the completion of the basement experiment and for the granted years only. Not during the challenge.

>Slaves that expensive
What can I get with silvers and coppers?

5 Million payout for 50 points
>Full Kitchen (43)
I can already cook, so this is the best option for me
>Gamer Girl (36)
Sounds kind of annoying but at least it's not alone, and she seems the least weird out of the companion options.
>Desktop (25)
For lurking and vidya
>Skylight (24)
>Mirror (22)
>RPG Session (16)
Even if it's just me and the Gamer Girl this GM sounds pretty rad
>Education (10)
>Internet (0)

Yes, thank you.

Posting my old build, because why not.

>Michael
>Light
>Bio, Sexy, Avian (40)

>Plasma Shield x2 (125)
>Cyber Brain, Duelist (145)
>Kinetic Stabilizers, Maneuvering Rockets, Jump Jets (175)
>Canvas, Hydra, Infused (200)

>Stats:

>Power 2

>Speed 7
>Strength 2

Sword Damage - 8
-20 to Dex rolls, +/-5 to Tech

I basically have no armour, but I'm so fast I don't need it. In the event I do get hit I have point defense to protect me, although I'm tempted to give that up for more sensors. I'm not sure how useful Wifi is, so I could trade it out for thermals or rafar/sonar. My sword hilt is two feet long and projects a twelve-foot energy blade, to make hitting during fly-bys easier.

Anyone else want to post builds? We could form a team.

SLAVES
>Catfolk Warrior (600/2500)
The main force of my group of bounty hunters, most skilled warrior of the group.
>Nightmarish Doggirl (1150/2500)
So cute! My ultimate line of defense, helps guarding me and is extremely loyal.
>Martially Gifted Orphan (1400/2500)
The second main force of the group. Will prolly learn a lot from Catfolk Warrior. Helps with daily chores.
>Magically Gifted Orphan (1650/2500)
The fallback for when brute force isn't enough. Helps with daily chores.
>Watcher (2050/2500)
The thump card. Won't get caught off by surprise and might become an excellent tracker.
>Young Drow (2350/2500)
Prolly will be loyal. Will train her for the purpose of spying our targets, so I'll always know the best way to get rid of them.
>Cyclops Girl (2550/2500)
To take care of the group daily chores, such as cleaning and food.

COMPLICATION
>Debt (2250/2800)
I think I can be successful enough with my group to pay off the debt. But if I can't, it would be interesting to face them out.
>Hunted by a Slaver (2250/3100)
Should also make an interesting plot. Seems very skilled, but I don't think he can overcome my entire group. Seems to underestimate me, so I will take advantage of that.

ITEMS
>Normal Clothes x5 (2675/3100)
For Magically Gifted Orphan, Watcher, Young Drow, Cyclops Girl and a spare one for myself, for when I don't wanna be wearing armor. As regular clothing, helps with blending in.
>Leather Armor x4 (2975/3100)
For Catfolk Warrior, Martially Gifted Orphan, Nightmarish Doggirl (hope there is a dog version for this armor), and one for myself can never be too careful.
>Whip (3000/3100)
I don't think I'll have to use this on my slaves, but unless someone crosses the line. Also think of it as some sort of secondary weapon.
>Spellbook (3100/3100)
Must have for Magically Gifted Orphan to help out whenever needed.

LIFEPATH
>Boundy Hunter
I think it's possible to make good Gold and the always on the move life style.

...

>20 years (45 points)
7 full kitchen
7 gamer girl
2 heat/AC
10 Desktop
3 Jacuzzi and Sauna
5 Library + manga
1 Skylight
3 Medical Care +birth control
7 Lab research

I would take the RPG session, but an RPG with only 3 people , one of which being the DM and one power gamer doesn't sound that good to me.

No internet unfortunately, can't afford it without taking another bonus. The real pain is that with one desktop there's little for me and my companion to play together, although I should take at least one controller to be an implied peripheral for the PC. At least we'll be able to talk, fuck and if she wants to take a turn, I might find something to read.

>apocalypse: rapture
>priorities: knowledge and answers
>perks: keys to the kingdom, found a friend (voice), strong infrastructure
>drawbacks: the signs, haunted
>goal: rage against the heavens

...

Alright, 5 Million payout because that's still a damn lot of money.
>Full Kitchen, because cooking is fun.
>Gamer Girl Or Mandy Muse honestly, she's fuckin great and I'll gladly drop the mirror and garden for it. for conversation, companionship, and fighting games.
>Desktop.
>Workout Room, Jacuzzi/Sauna because there are few things nicer then a good long soak after a nice workout.
>Skylight, Garden, and Mirror stand to look good and get really good at bonsai, I've got a decade to learn after all.
>Workshop w/Sewing upgrade. I sew, fight me.
>Internet, so I can continue everything I do here, but inside the basement.

It'd be a hell of a decade, I'll tell ya what. I'd pick the RPG session, but frankly I don't have enough people to do it in person, and I could just keep up the ones I run over Roll20 using the internet.

Have a happy Sunday, my lovelies.

The Cyclops Girl (2300)

HARDCORE MODE:

20 Points:

Timid Girl (5), Library (9), AC (11), Healthcare +Control (14), Skylights (15), Veggies (20)

I'd much prefer full kitchen, but I can work with this. Looking at the veggies picture, fruits are included. So I can wrangle some salads and hopefully stir frys and enjoy some nice sundried tomatos or olives or whatever. If not, there's always gazpacho or something.

Or if all I get are raw vegetables and fruit I'll probably be miserable for a few months.

Giving up gaming would be dry, but hell, at least I'd be able to read nonsense and keep up with the news. Also having a conversation partner would be healthy.

I would have also taken agent but I will probably explode without high speed maneuvering assistance.

What do we fight for?

...

...

...

Also I can't decide if Berserker or Thermal is better. Actually, lets go with Berserker.

Spa needs to be edited, to account for the new waifus.

...

...

How about the right to party? We could start a mech fighting ring.

Or we could start preparing for the invasion of the space elves, who have armed us with all these advanced WMDs to give themselves causus belli to enslave out little planet.

I don't bet much. I Pimp out my Turboslut to the immortal gamblers who eventually get lonely.

I like the prompt in this one, the Op powers not so much. It's funny because the whole time I was thinking, "wow if I'm the one who was closest and took no powers, that's pretty impressive." but then I saw that ending.

>Okay, so what now?
Nothing. You've fallen, and you can't get up.
Get your LifeCall service today.

I mentioned how brutally OP the powers were when it was originally posted. Strife said that's how he wanted it, so that's how it remains.

And then we were treated to two anons arguing about they'd fight each other at light speed and kill everyone else.

>And then we were treated to two anons arguing about they'd fight each other at light speed and kill everyone else.
I'm glad I left the thread before that point. Seems like the lowest, "edgy teenager"-tier of power fantasy. I'd rather even talk about clones.

At the very least, I like how the top tier
powers mention some side effects, like losing your empathy or connection to reality. The psychological effects of suddenly becoming a small god aren't explored very often.

That CYOA isn't very Awoo user.

Yeah user that version is very old there's been 42 updates since then. Give me a minute and I'll post it.

Cheers, I was wondering. I saw one a few days ago that looked new but was much more limited. Is that it?

Feedback:
We get more options but no more choices or default number of points, user.
I like some of the new companions and adjustments to the old ones, keep 'em coming.
"Very low spec" is very vague, maybe something like "a PC which was of average specs 10 years ago" would be better? It'd amount to the same but give a better idea of what's what.
Same with the high-class desktop computer. It wouldn't be overpowered much and give one a boost to possobilites and immersion if one could lurk on a few more websites of one's choosing (news sites, image boards, lewd sites).

Maybe making a cyoa what do you guys prefer for a points system?
>X Points to spend on choices costing 1 point each
or
>X Points and the choices cost varying amounts

I don't think I often see the first one, so that one. I think I've only seen that first one when each point gives a multiplier or more of that choice.

It depends how balanced it is.
If every option is roughly of the same worth 1 point per power is fine.
If options differ in how "powerful" they are but are divided in categories and there's limited number of choices per category, 1 point per power is fine.
If options differ in how "powerful" they are and there's free choice in what to get, varied cost is necessary.

Seems rather simple and kinda most fair if I can say so myself. At least in my eyes that's pretty much a good approach toward any and every CYOA.

>I wonder just what is this truth.
Traps are gay.

Also, a thing that limits builds with more companion is space and food. Having a description that the food/fund quantities are described as per one person and they will be doubled per each companion free of charge, as well as getting a blurb that per each companion there will be additional tiny room with a simple bed would help.

I like you mirroring the ancestors of cyoa.

Fast and completely functional underwater but nothing special aside from that. Ion Cannon and Pile Bunker make for a good hit and run combo. Good EMP resistance, hacking resistance, lock-on countermeasures and stealth detection(hopefully). Pretty fucked when it's long range or flying. If shit gets bad, can just book it to the ocean for repairs.

Not that user, but I doubt anyone knows for sure. Possibly there wasn't just a single CYOA, at least not with considerable gap of time. Either way, "stuck in a room/basement" and different survival-themed CYOA were the oldest kid, followed by "choose items/boons/powers you like" we semi-regularly see to this day. Then it branched out - got your starships, alternate dimensions, comfy CYOA, waifu (-centered rather than as a side option) CYOA, lewds and everything else, though at varied point of time - for example, waifus, be they slightly lewd or not at all are a pretty old thing in its own regard, but full 100% lewd CYOA are kinda a new, fresh take on the thing. Same with comfy CYOa which often are a spin on "you're stuck in a room" but much more new.

>there will never be a field of cyoaology
>you will never even be a footnote

>there will never be a field of cyoaology
Pardon me for going slightly /pol/, but given retardation and idiotic degrees in some of the western universities, with proper spin on political correctedness and other such stuff, maybe you could get at the very least CYOA as part of study of some art courses. Wouldn't be probably worth it though, as soon it'd get infested and wasted by SJW and the like and most quality content banned as sexist, misogynistic, bigoted, capitalistic.

It's so sad to see how these threads have fallen. Players can't think or imagine for themselves they need the author to tell them everything they can do.

Pretty sure CYOA is something you would learn in a writing class of some sort.

There probably would if people cared enough about having one on here, Maybe a section on the discord for discussions on the field of Cyoaology?

I don't think that counts as OC anymore.

While I wrote in answer to the user, I kinda get where he's coming from. I can imagine stuff myself pretty well, but there's absolutely no context in regards to the world and what possibilities a fallen paladin has. If I am one, am I bound by any forces to redeem myself or do something? Am I free to live my life however? Can I just retire? Am I hunted by others as an apostate no matter what I'll do?
Some blurbs regarding such things I wouldn't even consider hand-holding, but a few hints that may stir imagination and push one's thoughts in particular direction - which is the main goal of most CYOA.

Don't worry senpai I gotchu covered!

Without archived dates of completion it would probably be impossible to actually track influences and developments in anything but the broadest sense.

Can we get the "researchers" changed to some "amoral entities researching you"? Most of my enjoyment of most of the options, most of the lewd stuff etc would be barred and likely I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself at all, falling onto forcing those researches to pull me out of the program ahead of time if I'll know they're human or humanlike eggheads willing to judge me all the time.

So simple yet so good.

>Druggy, insane, suicidal,
How are these even choices? The first is completely irritating, the second is going to suffer from mental deterioration and die, the third is going to suffer massive bran damage and be a vegetable or just straight up succeed.

It just saddens me to see how this place has gone from imagination and thinking up stories using cyoa's as a guide, to... this.
Pick your stuff and that's it.

Ovulating would be awesome if not the puppies requirement, followed by a Needy for more traditional waifu life if not the fact that there's no mention whether I can change her mind regarding my perceived incompetence or whether I'll have obvious, surefire chances of stopping and preventing her suicide attempts. It's a pretty dark twist, user, if there's a given that at some point, ESPECIALLY when I'll be away she will try to kill herself - in which case her life and health (and indirectly, mine, because what's the point of going on after getting an Awoo and then losing her?) will depend merely on how succesful she is.

I understand your sadness but what I try to explain is that it may not even be so in this case. I'd gladly think of stories but for CYOA to serve as guide, the way you hope it will, it has to have solid scaffolding of lore and potential possibilities. This CYOA, while not bad concentrates on power fantasy etc without providing sufficient scaffolding to go on from there without making up whole lore on one's own - and while in theory one could do exactly that, what's the point of most of the powers and their value if through lore one can conceive whatever?

Likely unsuccessful, think slit wrists and pills, they're very ineffective methods and that type of suicide is only for people who are desperate or crying out for attention, not people who actually want to die. Still a very annoying negative trait.

>ovulating
>the option for fucking and nutting and getting her preggo
>would be good if not for her getting preggo
Is you stupid?

Pills cause severe brain damage though.

The oldest kind were press buttons.

In regards to that, change Ovulating to "will love you either way but will also very much want puppies and if you won't be extra careful, she may try to coerce you into unprotected sex for the sake of making some" and that choice is set - balanced, but with risks.

Similarly, Needy having "will consider you largely incompetent if you won't prove her otherwise in any way" and having the last sentence changed to "If neglected and never appreciated at all despite her best effort - will attempt suicide".

Schizophrenia is ultimately fatal so that option isn't so hot either. Their mind degenerates over time, pills just slow it down, until they're nonfunctional.

Other than the ovulating one, can I fuck the other awoos?

>the option for fucking and nutting and getting her preggo
I see it as an option for lewds, with preggo being a (potentially, dependng on one's taste which already makes it better for some than anything else) downside the way other choices have one, for balance. And for balance, I think it should be manageable, the way other downsides can be.
Are you stupid?

Alright, would like that included if you think it'd be better than my suggestions in Depends what pills. Many a drama teenager in the past attempted suicide by just gulping down random medicine, like painkillers and stuff which, while potentially harmful and even with indeed slight chance of causing death, more often resulted in gastric issues requiring stomach pumping, but with no lasting damage.

user, do you know what ovulation is?

You're right. Maybe just changing it to "Severe paranoia" would make it more fair without changing imediate downsides of the choice?

>tfw you actually brainstorm collab on a tiny, easily cobbled together, nearly shitposting CYOA to achieve balance with assurance of chance for escapist, loving happiness.
The power of cute doggirls, gentlemen.

You can "cuddle" them. How severely you do your cuddling and what direction it can go to, I am pretty sure is up in the air and should be never spoken about loudly.

Just not calling it schizophrenia removes the degeneration issue, yes.

I do. And it doesn't mean it has to be brought to fruition.

what ever happen to strife and what thread did you left user?
