fuck forge world

Feeling miserable guys. Was gonna dump cash into deathguard 40k, then realized my real excitement came from the idea of epic and Adeptus titanicus(soon). Should I dump my money into 30k mechanicum for fun?

What's my best option for massive Iron Hands dakka? Tons of heavy bolters? Whirlwinds?

Wait for codexes honestly.

6th for SoB rape!

Onager tanks and kastelan robots. Iron Hands are SM+Mechanicus.

Is Epic the next specialist game then? I know they were doing them all again. I want Necromunda NOW.

Best supplier in the UK of dirt cheap imerial-esque wargaming mats?

...

11st for chaos rules!

...

Yesterday someone asked how viable spamming smite in a 2k list was, so I made an army list with 8x4 zoanthropes 2 broodlords and 3x4 venomthropes and promised to try it out for them.

I played a game vs a 2000 point harlequin list on a 6x4 table with primarily ruins for terrain. The game lasted until turn 5 where the harlequin player conceded at the end of my movement phase with 1 troupe master a shadowseer and a starweaver left on the board. I had almost exactly half of my army left, 4 zoanthrope broods, a broodlord and 2 venomthrope broods remained.

So is it viable? Against some army lists, in particular those with high value, low wound models dependent on armor and invulnerable saves.

Honestly, as good as Pallies are, I'd not recommend them for a "fluffy =][= list", unless you're taking a Grand Master.

SC primaris when? What will be in it?

trips of truth
So how are zoas now?
Whats their use in a "regular"mixed nids army?
is it still fine to bring one unit of 3 or do you need more?

Smite seems very swingy and unrelaible, but spamming it sounds like it would work, weight of dice. It really just comes down to how efficient your psykers are, and how cheap, for the few that perils. As you said, marines are fucked against it, but there are many ways to fuck marines, what we need is horde fucking.

Tau seem very reliant on synergy.
Pulse accelerator drone from a unit of pathfinders + a fireblade nearby means that they deal 3 shots an 8 point model at 18". And that's less than two intercessor squads in terms of points.

BA are hands down the most reliant.

>Whats their use in a "regular"mixed nids army?
There really isn't one, they're not a very useful unit.
This only really worked because harlequins happen to be basically the perfect opponent and because zoanthrope units with 4 or more models deal an additional D3 mortal wounds and because of the enormous quantity of them.

Stealth suit teams with markerlights and homing beacons + suits in orbit.
Stealth suits can sprint it up the battlefield and/or infiltrate to drop homing beacons for crisis squads to drop within 8" of squads, to use flamers or for farsight to charge easier. They can then markerlight an unrelated unit for commanders to kill, as commanders get the biggest benefits from 1 ML.

Its great against low model count armies. It does jack shit against conscript blobs, orkz etc

>Tau seem very reliant on synergy.

Yes, that is kinda their thing.

They brought Formation stuff back. Like 3 vindicators gets a special strategem.

I want to start a Regiment to replace my Veterans and thus free up more conscripts but I dont 100% want to commit to metal Guardsmen. Are we convinced that plastic regiments are in the future?
Thinking Steel Legion btw

Their thing was taking nothing but riptides and you know it.

Nah, adeptus titanicus was teased ENDLESSLY behind the scenea for November last year. It even had a table with rules at the most recent expo thing.

Absolutely. Maybe I'll try again against a more normal army some time.

*Blacks your path*

What do you do?

Isn't adeptus titanicus just a form of epic?

Preach.

What I find hilarious is, the screeching guy is you, since you're screeching that it's OP P2W shit, not the people who are buying it. Work on your shitpost images mate. Don't reply, I've filtered you.

What the fuck would they include? Those 30k infantry that defend them on foot?

"first rank fire! second rank fire!" them with 200 lasgun shots from my 50 man conscript blob

Different Titans and Knights. With potential for other Epic units added later.

Deepstrike Oppression beyond 9" and successfully charge in hitting with S User X 2 AP4 Low Income Housing and Welfare Cheques. For each unit I am within 1" of after charging I roll a D6 and for each 6 I add +1 Single Mother to ranks.

Unit Destroyed.

Delet them.

>xv9s are op
>markerlight commanders are op
>y"I have to get within charge range"vhara is op

Yo Earthshaker Battery One through Three.
See dem niggers over there?

I've just got back in the game, I've got the primaris half of the DI, and left over from my last time around I've got 30 unassembled guardsmen, how should I nest assemble/arm them to supplement my primaris until more stuff is released?

Hey guys I have no models because I'm brand new but I'm very interested in thousand sons. Is it recommended to pick up that army? Maybe a 500 point list to start?

I dig their aesthetic and I like the spellslinging stuff.

t. Sub-rookie

I'm screenshotting this.

A box of Rubrics
A box of Scarab Occult
A Ahriman

Get some primaris, some greenstuff, make your chads Egyptian and shiet, and save a ton of money you will now spend on magnus.

Sometimes i setup a bunch of cultists on my gaming table and surround them with drop pods and my marines so i can feel good about my army. Complete with making explosion sounds like a kid playing with his G.I. Joes.

Thousand sons struck me more as mesoamerican-egyptian melds.

We should play some time.

...

You're having fun wrong!

It's recommended to play whatever the fuck you want and not to give a fuck about anything else.

Get 500 points with a plan for how you want to expand to 1000 points. If you don't know how to paint watch youtube.com/watch?v=-HOLM7dXiyk and if you're scared ask your local GW store owner for a free tutorial primaris marine and practice on that guy first.

Also remember that you can include any unit your army that you want so long as it shares a single faction keyword with the other units. So you can have any chaos unit and are not limited to specifically thousand sons units.

Instant classic

Me too. It's the only way my marines can kill anything.

Getting a 500 point army is actually pretty hard for T-sons since the nerf to Exalted.

Models you should get though are: Ahriman, Rubrics, Tzaangors, exalted sorcerers and Scarab Occult. (So everything really)

For 500 points you get 497 points with Exalted Sorcerer on Disk, 10 Tzaangors and 5 Scarab Occult with missile rack and rotor cannon.

Alternatively you can go something like Ahriman on Disk, 10 Rubrics with 1 rotor cannon and 13 Tzaangors.

I do this too. I also name my characters and take them on singleplayer adventures.

anyone have a decent pic of that new primaris chaplain? im terrible with technology and cant seem to zoom in on it without it looking like a pixalted nintendo character

FW has such a nice T'au lineup, what did we do to deserve it?

Just started painting. Overall, I'm pretty happy with most of the details on the models, but I'm having a hard time with these small skulls on helmets.

How do you get these to consistently "pop" with good definition and detail?

Right now I'm doing two thin coats of White Scar, Nuln oil shade, and highlight the brow area with White Scar again.

Still, a lot end up looking like white blobs (pic related).

We need to play together against a bunch of NPC's and make a story out of it.

Housure being considered in my local gaming group:

Embarked units can disembark before or after their transport has moved.
If they do it after, they cannot move or charge for the remainder of the turn.

What do you thing Veeky Forums?

In my limited experience with skulls, washes bring them out.

Ideas for basing my Death Guard?

I was thinking getting Astrogranite, giving it some Tyrant Skull, some green splodges followed by nurgles rot (Basically like the Duncan video except with astrogranite).

Reposting my latest draft for my list. How is it ?

How's that?

Don't use too much paint which could fade the details, then yes, apply a lot of washes. Check out the how to paint space marines guides, they tell you how to paint all the details (including purity seals, tabards, etc).

...

I do this too. I also don't let my guys die because i get attached to them.

High res leak

Tactical marines in a Rhino move an extra 6", which is a free 6" advance while still being able to shoot non-assault weapons.

If you still want to disembark after moving though I'd say you'd have to count all the models inside as having advanced, which would mean no more advancing, shooting non-assault, or charging. It even makes sense fluff-wise since if you're hastily disembarking from an assault vehicle you won't have much time to aim a weapon not meant for that kind of engagement (like an astartes shotgun).

Boi that's a reiver

Maybe one day you'll convince someone, keep at it poorfag

Hello there, here's a CSM list I kinda want to buy in.
Is it a good base to optimize later?

So how long until 40k gets a saturday morning cartoon show?

>even the trash doesn't deserve that treatmen
i cry everitim

You don't already watch it on your Servo Screen? Get out from under the heretics user.

Anyone have a good size comparison pic of the Custodes Carrier next to a Rhino/LR/Baneblade for scale?

Lots of pictures of all the custodes vehicles next to each other

What do you guys think about a baneblade variant for the LoW slot in an imperial fists army? I know it's guard but that mix-match armies seem to be less important in this edition. On that note, which LoW should I steer clear of? I was leaning toward something with good anti horde.

If it's late 80's-early 90's style, I'd watch the shit out of it.

I thought i was the only one that did this.

Your sorcerer and lord just footslogging?

Also the reaper autocannon on hellbrute is just mathematical wank compared to twin heavy bolter which is cheaper and better against every single enemy type except T6 guys.

give me 5 years or so

it won't be Saturday morning material though

What is your "fluff" on Fate of Konor for your dudes?
Mine is that the tau are looking to keep the conflict going to weaken the imperium and take worlds from them, but also don't let chaos take the forge world because they're evil. At the same time they will try and and get as many people off Konor and back into the empire as they can.

Coronus and Baneblade are same length, but baneblade is wider

FOOTSLOGGING AND GROUND POUNDING IS PURE.
BOOTS IN MUD IS LOVE
BOOTS IN MUD IS LIFE
10/10 WAIFU

>your dudes
>self inserting

shiggy diggy senpai

I watched a Tabletop Minions live stream today. Adam thought that the white boots were official and he called Reivers "a bit preppy" kekekek

>Mine is that the tau are looking to keep the conflict going to weaken the imperium and take worlds from them, but also don't let chaos take the forge world because they're evil. At the same time they will try and and get as many people off Konor and back into the empire as they can.

I would've just gone with Eldar and T'au are there to help the IoM cause they are part of the good guy alliance against chaos now.
That and Ultras are xenos lovers

Atleast it's better than MWG. They've been churning out low effort battle reports for a year now.

Don't know if someone beat me to it but here is a rough draft for Kill Team in 8th edition.

Let me know if there are any mistakes or rules I should fix in the most cruel ways possible before I autisticly add pictures and show everyone I know.

>MWG
They frustrate me more than words can convey nowadays. At least with Adam, it's just some dude giving his opinion and some tips. I learned the whole wet palette thing from him.

Why can't hand to hand just be the same as the regular game?

I don't even.

If you want 8th edition units to work in shadow war, then you create kill team lists for them. If you want to make a skirmish version of 8th edition you should be adapting the AoS skirmish ruleset to 40k. What you've done here makes no fucking sense to me.

Should I give them bikes?
I don't have much experience, I have maybe 4-5 of the units I want to get .
I also heard Rhinos are pretty bad now.
>Also the reaper autocannon on hellbrute is just mathematical wank compared to twin heavy bolter which is cheaper and better against every single enemy type except T6 guys.
Won't know If I don't try, definitely gonna check it out

Not him, but out of curiosity, how would you cost a Terminator with a Crux Terminatus, Storm Bolter and Chain Fist Vs Gravis with an Iron Halo, Boltstorm Gauntlet and Power Sword (specifically a power sword, not master crafted)

Eldar don't give a shit about how the imperium treats its people, but the blueberries are too soft to overlook the fact 99.99% of all imperial citizens live lives so poor that the lot of a starving African child today is an enviable one to them.

I don't want to make kill team lists for all the units in 40k. I like the special commands you can use in Shadow War. Never played the AoS skirmish but I assume it doesn't have Hide, Overwatch, Run, and special rules for movement.

My Marines are returning from a Crusade into Imperium Nihilius to drop the hammer on some Heretics.

I think they clarified it will only be titans for a LONG while. They have no interest in reviving epic. God I wish they would with modelsblike the french guy

The face looks like one of those skulls that GW covers all their terrain with. Also, monopose.

Better idea, copy the lotr warbands WD supplement instead. That one was actually good.

Smite is perfect against Harlequin but you'd have more success with adding malanthrope and biovores.
That being said, the current smite lords are the 30 point Nurgle HQ that you bubblewrap with pox.
