Would you play in this setting?

Would you play in this setting?

That's a blast from the past.

From what I remember, absolutely not.

Well tell what little you remember.

Last time I checked the setting was pretty simplistic.

Can we all just agree that chaos is the coolest shit? Like I know it's terrible but look at this it's amazing.

All of AQW was a 40k rip-off to the point where it self-parodied dead memes and had cat monorails and lolcat enemies with holy lolcat scripture.

The original and Drafonfable are the best, but are ultimately a clusterfuck.

Galanoth is literally fucking Pelinal but instead he kills Dragons.

>Like I know it's terrible but look at this it's amazing.
I like the original more then Dragonfable but DF is still pretty good

>got my old account on AQ
>Last time played: 1785 days

Looks like generic high-fantasy schlock.

No thanks

That depends.
Am I allowed to wield a plunger?

>Just high fantasy
I don't know many settings that are more ludicrously high fantasy, where it's implied single heroes can solo entire armies without even breaking a sweat and there's dragons for literally everything, including time itself.

>To fight the real villain, you need to purchase Dungeons and Dragons Premium Accountâ„¢ from your DM for a reasonable price of 30 dollars

I would, but I'm not Brazilian. Get it? Because that's basically the player base now.

That sounds like most fantasy settings m8

It's great for it's target age category and I've taken ideas from it, but I would probably not play in that setting.

I like Werepyres. It's hard to make them cool in other settings without coming off as edgy, but Wolfwing was awesome.

What quests were not memes or references were completely overwritten, with way too much backstory and revolving almost entirely around the NPCs. Your character was way too often merely a tool to beat up bad guys without having any real impact on the plot. A story's climax would often go "Player confronts bad guy, bad guy too strong, NPC does something to weaken bad guy, then player beats them up and the NPCs go about cleaning up. Then player gets to buy loot."

Weekly updates just made the game itself incredibly bloated, too. Looking at the map now makes me a little sad.

To be fair, at least it wasn't a monthly subscription.

The player character was revealed to be one of the Chaos Lords or some shit though. That's why they were involved in everything. Also, Gravelyn was semi-hot.

>Only semi-hot
People like you are the reason she doesn't have enough porn.

Hey, fuck you, too, buddy! Redheads and condescending stares are overrated.

Worlds having been my main game for a good 3 or so years (and level capped for 2 of them), I can say it's a ripoff of standard fantasy tropes, with a lot of dumb anachronistic extra crap tacked on.

Like mentioned, a good portion of the plots end with the current plot-relevant NPC or object deus ex machina's a resolution after you go through the current BBEG (or minion)'s redshirt army.

Last time I checked, AE was trying to rewrite the new saga without resorting to the old "fight giant monster, fight BBEG" formula they'd been using for the past 8 or so years.

>The player character was revealed to be one of the Chaos Lords or some shit though.
Not just the 13th Chaos Lord (Chaos fighting itself, à la Malal) but also the 13th Chaos Beast since the PC is also the reincarnation of the Eternal Dragon of Time.

Not only that, the PC fights, defeats and becomes the new embodiment of Death, although the PC also relinquishes those powers at the tail end of the saga.

you take that right the fuck back buddy, redheads are the best

I fondly remember this from the golden era of flash games back in like 2005.

I also remember being responsible for a change in the game when I made a post on the forums about the text that came up if you clicked on the chains in the pet shop.

IIRC it was something along the lines of "there are an awful lot of chains in here, just what is [whatever the shop owner name was] into?", then within hours my post was deleted and the line was gone from the actual game.

Good times.

I steal a few things here and there from this and MANY other settings that I read or played in when I was a kid.

Frogzard Hunter would be a sensational campaign.

I cannot unassociate this game from the reems of porn i made of it using the decompiled game flash files

I have a purely scientific interest in seeing that.

Personally I prefered DragonFable. AQ just felt so schizophrenic with its lore last I checked.

it was on my old old old hard drive from 12 years ago.
Just imagine the shitty flash enemies but edited so they had their tits out

Dragonfable is AQ but done right Imo

Never tell the AQ team about glitches or exploits, they will fix them, and the fun will be greatly reduced.
