Why don't we have more urban fantasy cyoas?

My project that was supposed to be right after CATastrophe that I postponed because I want to move Apocalypse up the list and get working on that right after I'm done with this one.

It's one of the few I have. Honestly I usually see a ton of overlap with the content of quest threads and CYOAs, except for a curious lack of superhero CYOAs compared to quest.

Adventure with group more than alone. I can use Healing, Barriers, and Bindings to help the party. For fighting I mostly spam arcane bolt type stuff from the air. I can also make potions at the alchemy to help party out or to sell and trade.

No, that's genuinely one of my projects. It's gonna be more of a post-apocalypse thing in a city though (with lots of /k/-levels of gun autism), but I probably won't get to it until next year.

If you like power armour and mechs, you might like the other project, and it still kind of fits the bill of what you described. You'll be forming a crew of 4 supersoldiers-in-power armour.

Shallowness was always my problem with the CYOA. Everything is basically "because God says so." The setting is virtually non-existent, no mention of even things like politics or social norms.

Still doesn't mean it's not a decent CYOA but there's not much to it, really.

Updates since last posting:

* Critical: Figure of Legend reincarnates as long as their legend lives on, losing Fate Points each time. So, now all the first three options reincarnate. Figure of Legend has more points to start, but is the only one that loses points with each death.

* Fate Modifiers altered, more added. (Soldier split into "Metahuman" and "General". Wizard made less costly, but also more limited)

* Can revoke companion status from anyone (so that you don't feel compelled to kill them to revoke their status).

* Nearly Mortal reduced in points for Fates which reincarnate without penalty.

I like this one, but 25 points is just too restricted for me to be able to enjoy it. Too many top tier options that utterly cripple and destroy your point pool for just trying to take one.
