How would the Great Crusade/Horus Heressy play out if The Emperor actually saved his buddies and turn'd them into Space Marines.
How would the Great Crusade/Horus Heressy play out if The Emperor actually saved his buddies and turn'd them into Space...
The same because Angron wanted to die and the nails would still be there for him to corrupt his own legion and make the same mistakes.
why didn't they just kill his pain receptors?
Henwould probably still be a berserker who suffered needless casualty rates but I feel he wouldn't automatically turn traitor if he was on good terms with the Emperor. Something special would have to happen like Magnus and the burning of Prospero or Perturabo and the rebellion at Olympia.
The nails lobotomised him and they were impossible to remove. It would have just been more of the same.
Seriously the 'worst' primarch in the Emperors eyes imo and I imagine thats why he didnt bother with his slave friends. The Emps preferred a compliant world with some Dark Age tech over some semi-retarded slaves.
>with some Dark Age tech
FINALLY. Thank you. I've always wondered why Emps didn't just leave the planet or bomb it to death.
>The Emps preferred a compliant world with some Dark Age tech over some semi-retarded slaves.
Then the Emperor was a shortsighted moron. He fucked over and pissed off one of his irreplaceable primarchs for no reason. He could have just teleported the slaves up. All the other primarchs were allowed to bring their friends on the crusade.
>but muh nails
the Emperor didn't know they were impossible to remove yet.
He would've mad as hell, but he'd have been mad FOR the Emperor and not AT him.
>Couldn't remove a device from the head of his son without killing him
>Couldn't predict the HH
>Couldn't defeat Drach'nyen in a straight out fight
>didn't have any backup plans in case the Webway was screwed
And you say the Emperor is a god?
>Then the Emperor was a shortsighted moron.
The exact opposite. The Emperor was playing the long game and there was no point investing in a pawn that was already shown to be a failure.
>He fucked over and pissed off one of his irreplaceable primarchs for no reason.
There were reasons you just dismissed them. Angron was broken and a failure. The world had useful tech and was happy to join the Imperium. All that it cost the Emperor was for his least successful sons brain damaged friends to die.
>the Emperor didn't know they were impossible to remove yet.
True yet he knew there was something wrong with him. Besides it wasnt long after that that he made sure. Angron would have been dead before the end of the Horus Heresy if Lorgar hadnt turned him into a daemon.
>Get fucked all the times by humans with flashlights, take 10k years to make any meaningful progresses
Dark "gods" lmao
Very, very badly.
Remember, the Emperor isn't an idiot. He doesn't do things randomly. There is strong evidence to suggest that the entire batch of slaves were Khorne-tainted. More, even if the Emperor saved them, they were doomed: ALL of them were fitted with Butcher's Nails. Angron was doomed to watch them waste away to nothing.
I mean, giving Angron the War Hounds was a BAD idea, since they were a perfectly serviceable legion before. But it seems the Emperor had some strategy he didn't bother to impart.
He should have left Angron to die
>Seriously the 'worst' primarch in the Emperors eyes imo
Thought that honour belonged to Conrad Cruz.
Angron was made useless due to nails-in-the-brain
While Conrad was just deranged.
The Chaos Gods were content to have fuck over the Webway and turned their gaze inwards to the Great Game. So yeah no.
He really should have, but I think he was going "Look, Angron is a literally irreplaceable piece of technology. He can't be recreated. Surely there has to be SOME use for him."
Either that, or he was thinking - "If the Heresy happens, it's better if Horus gets Angron, the red-headed stepchild, than someone like Guilliman."
> "All according to the plan xD!" or "We're playing the long game hurrr"
Yeah no, shit ass weak "Gods" with even shittier weak mortal servants.
Even the eldar "gods" are less shit
Conrad was the real disturbed one out of the bunch, while Angron was a ragetard, he wasn't utterly incomprehensibly schitzo.
Shit ass Gods killed your Emperor by proxy, what does that make him?
>Shit ass Gods killed your Emperor
>Killed
Still alive and kicking their 4 combined asses on their own turf 10 000 years later
His body is dying and he is powerless to prevent the decline and slow extinction of his people. Also he isn't kicking anyone asses. The Chaos Gods are waiting for him to die to claim his soul
>His body is dying
A-anytime now, I swear !
t.chaosfag
>He could have just teleported the Khornate cultists up and let a clearly unstable and excessively violent Primarch hang out with them all the time
Way to go, user, now Angron goes full retard even faster.
Always felt bad for Angron in a way. The nails basically damned him to becoming a Khorne follower, never had a real choice
Not really. He was fucked but he could have cut the losses and moved on. Or least kill himself.
One factions has all the time in the universe. One faction is running out of time. One can afford to drag it out. The other enjoys a slow lingering death.
But forget to add one thing in the list above
>Didn't hold back at all, get beat up anyways by Horus
Can't really cut your losses when you've got neural implants forcing you to be perpetually pissed. Emps really should have just let him die with his gladiator bros
>Can't really cut your losses when you've got neural implants forcing you to be perpetually pissed
Sanguinius was perpetually pissed, he did okay. What damns Angron is that he installed nails in his legionnaires' head. There is no excuse for it, he's a piece of shit.
>Didn't hold back at all, get beat up anyways by Horus
>Horus
>Died like a bitch, oblitared body & soul just after saying "sorry daddy"
lel
Or did he? He know the Emperor won't hold back since he doesn't care about Horus.
But what will stop Horus? All fingers point at Pius holding the true anathme a weapon created to kill a god.
I don't understand what you're trying to say.
It's established that Horus was blasted into nothing after asking for forgiveness
It would've ended better if Emps simply let Angron die
Kind of weird, isn't? A 38k old demi-god master of genetic manipulation and OP psyker couldn't remove a bunch of wires and tubes from his own creation head because MUH DARK AGE TECH IS MADE TO ENDURE. The same guy who could create from scratch people like the custodes or direct the repair and adaptation of the Webway
If anything the Emperor should just put the guy in the freezer.
Hours was a creation of the emporer, they needed their power AND the emporer's own genius to fuck him up, along with half his primarchs and astartes, they didn't start from scratch.
