>What do they find frustrating? Preparation casting? Limited spell slots? Too many options? >Focus on actually explaining what the problem is before trying to fix it.
Yeah sorry. They find the limited spell slots too frustrating. The other two things you cited are why we are currently switching to pathfinder.
In our homebrew, every single spells must've been ruled by the GM. Even after I proposed to used spells from pathfinder. The preparation part is actually enjoyed, because it add a real sense to camp and have the PC sleep and pause in a long run. For this last point, I may use the RAW rule of sleep for having the slots back.
>Precisely how screwed/awesome is your character when dunked in the water for an aquatic quest/encounter?
He would just swim angrily, and grill every fish he sees to fuel his water dunking enduced rage.

I have to ask, why do you care? Like not in a judgemental way, but in an 'I don't understand the reason you want to see this, and I am genuinely curious' way.
I don't get people's desire to follow these games, or to continue to perpetuate this weird circle that seems to go on with games. I don't understand the concept of a celebrity player, and it just...it all confuses me.

The Arcanist might help; you get spell prep, but can cast any spell you've prepped until you run out of the level slots you need for it. That's a roundabout spell point system.
There's also something like D&D 5e, where you get a very small number of spells ready through all levels, but can cast them out of a slot of their spell level or higher. That would require granting Heighten Spell as a free feat to all casters.
Finally, there's using Psionics; small list of powers known and MP (they call it PP), but that's yet another system to learn. It also doesn't allow for spell switching without a certain ability which allows a character to swap everything. However, it wouldn't be too difficul to allow players to swap a small number of the powers they know daily; one of the Psion archetypes allows essentially this.

Thanks for the tips user. I'll check these out with more sleep and see if I can use it properly. Right now, I've got the homebrewed system, Sphere of Powers, Arcanist, D&D5e and Psionics.
It'll be a long work, but hey, it'll be rewarding if I manage to use it correctly. I will post it after I completed the first playtest and talk about it if any of you want.
Resume from last thread : I needed to know how to improve my homebrewed spell system to replace the limited spell slots. >As a spell caster, you gain each level your health dice+the caracteristic used for slinging spell >The cost of spells are dictacted by their level, and so are their DC : a level 0 spell cost 0 but has a DC of 10, a level 9 got a cost of 9 and a dc of 19 if not stated otherwise >If you want to sling spells without preparing, you have +2+level of the spell/2 on your DC check (rounded to the superior) for slinging your spell >If you want to prepare spells, use the normal rule. >A wizard can learn by heart a spell, and gain one each 3 level. He does not need to prepare it nor to have in his grimoire. >He can't use spells higher than his level. Using metamagic make him use two times the mana cost of the spell. >Can only use/prepare spells written in his grimoire. >Learning a new spell can be by a fellow magic user, with two days per level of the spell learned, or by a DC of 18+level of the spell*2 >You can learn from a scroll, but it is a DC of 18+level of the spell or a day per level of the spell learned.
Have a good night anons, and may the dice gods be pleased with you.

Starting off! >2 Delilah, TN Female Essentia Homunculus, Alchemist Our first taste of Essentia's custom race, the Essentia Homunculus - more or less androids with some differences - Delilah is a very small-sized package of emotionless sass and impending robot jokes. The letter to the mayor is...interestingly formulated. All in all, she's an unemotional loli doll alchemist with a bit of a complex towards her "Mother", her as of yet unnamed creator. There seems to be a bit of work to be done on this app yet, but I like what's in there. She's one of the several "research-focused" apps, though the specification of her disliking the research-hoarding practice of other Arabrine followers (like her mother) provides an interesting hook.
GOOD POINTS: Sassy robot, loli doll with a mom complex, an accurate depiction of what low charisma looks like BAD POINTS: App needs some more meat on its bones in places, despite mom complex doesn't define who her mom is, etc

There's a disclaimer about second language here, and it shows occasionally, but it's not something I'm going to hold against this app. Leopold is an Inquisitor of the Shattered Faith, straight from the fanatics in the Holy Kingdom Sepra. He's got a not entirely amusing past and an entirely unamused attitude. Reportedly his great-grandfather was killed by some fellow from Mestys, and he's pretty big on the DO NOT FORGET thing - he did the same to his own brother after bully memes in his childhood, once he took on his Inquisitor's mantle. Leopold is religious, and very much so. Like, absurdly much so if compared to most other apps, but not actually absurdly so in the context of the game which has plenty of valid reasons for fanaticism around. And judging (heh) by the tone and content of the app (and the picture as well) he's ready to bring the fist of the Ordo Hereticus onto some bitches. He plays his trope and plays it straight, and does an acceptable job at it though he could certainly strive to be a bit more original. Yes, he's DEVOTED to his faith and all, but I'm certain you wouldn't be burned at the stake for getting a hobby or something, right?
GOOD POINTS: ORDO HERETICUS, WE'RE GONNA KILL THAT GUARDSMAN OVER THERE IN A BIT, HEH, HEH BAD POINTS: Doesn't really do anything beyond his trope, which is not very interesting.
This actually looks chill as hell user. The Nightblade 3pp class is pretty good too but this seems nice and lean.

An subterrarian alien race who had special horn like feelers that earlier explorers mistook for rabbit ears at a distance. Up close, you notice they don't have eyes and the feeler horns connect to where their eyes would be.
Their feeler horns allow them to sense magic energies through their other sense so they can taste and hear magic. This is because their usual prey is capable of becoming invisible on top of living in such a dark place and this is how they would hunt them.
However, in the presence of too much magic they begin to feel sick if they unfurl their feeler horns.

>12 Iridia IV von Ostalfen, LN Female Human, UC Cavalier NO, NOT THE FACE Apparently the mustard gas didn't just fuck up half of her face but all of it, because this app has no picture! This app is a bit messy. The backstory is solid enough and works for what it does - Iridia is the daughter of a rich merchant house who were once nobles in their own right, until angry rival houses kicked them off that porch. She doesn't want to be a greedy merchant, though - she wants to be the knight in shining armor because apparently that's what her ancestors did in their spare time when they weren't getting kicked out of nobility. Nobody else around her seems to care about this, though, so she's left autistically screeching by herself that she wants her title back. She also suffers from a severe case of KY, which doesn't help either. There are a few problems with this app, besides not having a face. The greatest gripe I have is the fact that it feels entirely disconnected to the setting. There's no mention of her origins or where her family had their holdings and when, no mention of anything at all part of the setting until the letter comes and showers us with it. And even then there's a fair disconnect between the parts of the app; the letter doesn't always feel like it's describing the same person as detailed in the earlier sections. Bonus points for the giant turtle though.
GOOD POINTS: Pretty cool tank cavalier concept, the acid-to-face-thing is pretty fresh, plenty of potential BAD POINTS: Messily put together app that doesn't mesh with itself, near zero setting integration outside of letter and feels like it's been transplanted from somewhere else, I HAVE NO FACE, etc.

It's actually just a 'fix' of the Sea Races one, since I didn't like how they were like an 11 RP race outside of the water and also didn't like them having -2 Int despite being octopus-people.

>10 Red Elder-End Mythcéal, TN Female Flower Nymph, Witch/Vigilante Not quite 13 PAGES but definitely the longest app in here by a country mile and a half. First off, it's a Flower Nymph, meaning there's a fair bit of "hooting your own horn" involved in this app seeing as it's the player's own homebrew. That said, it seems to have been worked into the setting without being too obnoxious about it. There is a LOT of wordy words on the backstory of what feels like the entire species, which may or may not be justified? Either way, once we get to actually figuring out who this creature with like 12 names is, we do so quite thoroughly. She spent 20 years living in a nuked forest, was cockblocked from learning the final magical secrets of her master, and then was 2spooky4the rest of her people to deal with, so she promptly GTFO'd and went "wandering leaf", whatever that's supposed to mean - this app invents a lot of words, like season-cycles instead of years, in an attempt to look cool or seem thematic. Either way, Elder-End cheats her way into human society and changes identities like a CIA agent, before settling in Mestys as the witch equivalent of a potted plant. Beyond the size of the app and the blatant liberties with the setting the author takes to force his homebrew race into it, the app is... alright? And seeing as the homebrew race in question is actually on the allowed 3pp list, I suppose it might not be as blatant as it first appears. There's quite a bit of flavor to Elder-End, and whether or not this turns out to be cancer or not is all dependent on whether or not the author can actually play this shit.
GOOD POINTS: Well defined character overall, unironically running Seducer Witch and Vigilante for the lewdist combo, sassy shortstack plant BAD POINTS: Forced meme race, 13 PAGES, feels slightly out of tune with the rest of the setting at times

It was a pretty big fad from 2005-2013 or so in Japanese internet lingo. It has started to fade in usage, similar to how "lol" and other acronyms can date people by their usage.
You probably haven't seen it around since it was always more of a 2chan/niconico thing, or perhaps you weren't browsing the internet at that time. It picked up a lot of use in internet anime communities after the economic crisis in 2009 thanks to the rise in post-college neets in the west.

If his opinion doesn't matter then ignore him.
If you disagree with him then ignore him.
If you agree with him then cool.
Why is it worth getting angry over?
Oliver Torres
Because it shits up the thread.
Juan Cox
It's unnecessary for the game in question, lowers the quality of already bad threads, and is done so someone can suck the reviewer's dick over their dimestore Poison Ivy app.
John Ward
Because the reviewer unironically suck his own dick and give himself a good overall orgasm. If you were unbiased, you would have skipped yourself. Although the fact that he is reviewing for a game he app makes his opinion worth jackshit.
