None, cause machines are flawed and are capable of being crushed by my magic fists of awesomeness.

Question, anons: would you let a character who has the Bipolar negative quality control their manic/depressive/neutral states through the use of BTL personafix moodchips?

If so, would you allow an Oni Street Samurai PC who got onto BTLs to manage her bipolar disorder, wound up working for one of those BTL personafix brothels as a result, then got on the cyberware train when she got some cybereyes using her prostitution income to correct her meta-variant's protruding tard-eyes, and discovered that she was unusually biocompatible with cyberware?

Would you allow her to have cybereyes that automatically get heart-shaped "pupils" depending on her levels of affection/lust/sexual arousal towards the person she's looking at?

>fleshlings
>less flawed than perfect machines

Yes. with all the risks of addiction that entails.
Sure i've seen worse backstories.
...that isn't a standard feature?

You have to get to the state of 'perfect machines' first, before you can pull that shit.

How offscript would it be if the DM introduced androids into setting? I.e. Chicago reclaimed thanks to AI in synth bodies. Insect spirits can't posses robot bodies.

So... Drones?

More like full Cybered up Runner with not affected by Essence Loss.

The setting already has androids. They're listed under the drone rules. They're just really expensive and hard to come by because they're all military-grade killing machines intended for use by military-grade total conversion cyborg brains.

They're just not fully sapient unless possessed by an AI, or they've had a total conversion cyborg brain installed into them.

There are rules for total conversion cyborgs... somewhere. I'm not sure exactly where they are for 5e.

Fuck that's like 50% of my Streetsam's concept.

I want to know that as well. 4e had it in Agmentation, but there is nothing in Chrome Flesh about it

>I'm not sure exactly where they are for 5e.
Waiting on whatever the current issue is within CGL.

So they are holding them back for some reason?
Oh boy if there is not a cool book with that shit in it.
But seriously, what kinda book could cyborgrules be included in if not chrome flesh?

The PDF companion to Chrome Flesh, of course.

Is it possible to splash some hacking skills and use a dongle to be useful at supporting a full decker? My group is wondering if we can get away with everyone taking a little bit of hacking so we don't get stuck twiddling our thumbs while the decker does things.

Following that, the RCC can run programs. The core book has a short list, and links back to the full list for more information. Is that trying to say that the RCC can only run the short list, or that those are the only useful ones? The rigger wants to mod her RCC to get a stealth attribute and then run Smoke and Mirrors for sleazing instead of using a dongle.

Cyborgs and cyberzombies are cool. But honestly i would just prefer to have better cyberware suites and better rules for them.

At least those are things that a player might get to use.

Heart shaped pupils are common in.. more adult form of comics

>as long as the nuyen cost for the chips is comparable to the meds
The drugs cost 100 nuyen a month if you buy them on the street. BTLs cost 50 nuyen each, but they can each be used as many times as the person wants.

>this the first time i've heard of this. yoinking it for my future games
*looks at danbooru, 15k images*
It's basically ubiquitous in mindbreak/ahegao fetish porn, and it's not uncommon in romantic happysex porn, either.

Given that the rules for cyborgs in 4e were explicitly intended for NPC antagonists with a sidebar of "Hey, this is a bad idea but if you really want...", I imagine they'd leave it for some form of prime threats book. Response when they came out wasn't super great, I doubt it's a high priority for them.
So, anthro drones with a weapon personality? I'm not seeing what you're after here; making sapient AIs more widespread and/or mass-produce-able by a manufacturer isn't really a major change to canon all things considered, but there's no real need for it to be a thing aside from the demand for robutts that you can woo.
Ehhhh. Not really, depending on the style of hacking that your decker goes in for. A commlink with an Attack dongle can make for a useful way to spike someone's gear, but actually participating in stealth decking is difficult since you can't share marks and you'd just present another set of tests to fail.

>How offscript would it be if the DM introduced androids into setting?
That's what a Pilot Origins AI already is - a drone that blossomed into sapience.

So, what you'd be talking about would be, say, Chicago being reclaimed by a small army of Pilot 6 Anthroform Drones, with many of them spontaneously becoming fully self-aware.

Mind you, Pilot 6 is already so smart that it'd be a real struggle to tell which are and aren't full AIs. There'd be a lot of questions about personhood, and where the line between sapient and just a machine is. A lot of strife, lack of social rights, probably even some punked-up counterculture movements.

So no more or less off-script than any other 'next big thing' in a Shadowrun campaign. Certainly no more or less than the Year of the Comet, or the Renraku Arcology. It's a direction the setting could go, even if it hasn't yet.

I haven't started reading most of the supplements though I have the big ones in storage (Run Faster, Run and Gun, Rigger 5.0, Data Trails, Street Grimoire and Chrome Flesh). Do the rules for commlink hacking make the stupid overpriced cyberdecks obsolete? Also for first time players having just core is recommended, right? Complex enough as is and can add splats later.

>Do the rules for commlink hacking make the stupid overpriced cyberdecks obsolete?
I've got bad news about the costs of making a hacking-ready commlink.

>Also for first time players having just core is recommended, right?
I'd advise just Core for chargen, but then open up things like Chrome Flesh and Street Grimoire for post-chargen advancement.

>So they are holding them back for some reason?
Chrome Flesh had a section of cool new stuff that basically said, "Oh, and maybe in the future these will have rules!"

After two renditions of cyberware suites, there's probably not going to be a third.

>Chrome Flesh
>post-chargen advancement
There are certain cool things that have to be done at chargen though. High level MBW as an example.

What a GM can try is getting the concept ideas from players and pointing out what books they should look into.

>Do the rules for commlink hacking make the stupid overpriced cyberdecks obsolete?
not even close
just halve Deck prices

>Also for first time players having just core is recommended, right?
Running with Core only is like running a marathon with one leg:
Possible but not pleasant.
Do it like said and introduce it later or just start with everything and look over their sheets before approving them

Is halving deck prices a common house rule? I doubt it would break anything too badly, I guess.

alongside halving ware prices

To get even more bio-adepts?

It gives Deckers more flexibility in chargen to choose a lower Resources priority or spend Nuyen and subrole as a Rigger, Street Samurai, etc. That way they aren't stuck rolling 4 dice for automatics and being worthless during combat.

I don't do it personally but I see the value in it.

Decker Adept Street Samurai, yes.

This is also why you should reduce the PP karma cost for Mystic Adepts and the limit on how many spells a mage can learn.

>user is building his lewd oni yandere waifu
Well, three out of four isn't bad. Hint: her street name is Shuten-douji. ;)

Not quite as flat-chested or short as the F/GO version, though.

Double essense cost for awakened.

chummer, adepts are far more limited on essence than on money. Reducing NuYen costs is far less important for them than reducing Essence costs
And if you want them to not take ware, just double essence cost for non-mundanes.

I would just tell the character to buy a lesser deck if they want a hybrid character.Halfing the cost just encourages EVERYONE to buy bioware

My house rule is you can sell your deck at 100% of the cost but only if your upgrading to a better model. That way PCs have room to grow

What its actually a tsundere?
You may think so but the end result of losing it and hitting someone would be equal to yandere.
Meaning broken bones and people being terrified

>That way they aren't stuck rolling 4 dice for automatics and being worthless during combat.
Why on Earth wouldn't they be putting Smartlinks on their guns, or just getting guns like the Ingram Smartgun X that have them built in? 6 dice for automatics, at least.

>I imagine they'd leave it for some form of prime threats book

Might end up in Street Lethal. It will probably be the last chance that CGL has to put out a bunch of dumb bullshit for 5e, before they switch over to 6e. We've managed to avoid WAR! levels of retardation so far, I think they can get there if they try hard enough.

How should I stat a chemrail?

So, movement.

A standard human will move 10 meters / 3 seconds while walking, 20 meter / 3 seconds jogging in Shadowrun.

This equates to 12 Km/h walking and 24 Km/h jogging. This is a basic human.

Am I missing something or are speeds just that ridiculous in the sixth?

>A standard human will move 10 meters / 3 seconds while walking, 20 meter / 3 seconds jogging in Shadowrun.
Where do these numbers comming from? Just wanna see the calculations behind it so I can respond better.

APDS ammo is pretty much the same thing just not retarded.

Just looked it up again, I made a mistake considering my Rigger standard.

It's AGI * 2 walking, Agi * 4 jogging, +2m/hit on a running test

So a standard human with 2 AGI will move at 2,4 Km/h or jog at 4,8 Km/h

Still ridiculous, just the other way around, everyone is suddenly fuckslow.

Take a walk outside and you will see that people, in general, are fuckslow.

Point taken
>Last weekend
>Need to buy a present for a birthday party
>Shopping mall
>Fuckslow people everywhere
>Not only that, everyone decided to walk next to each other in groups, blocking everyone behind them

I wasn't even running or anything, I had plenty of time and it still pissed me off.

Nah.

>standard human with 2 AGI
Standard is 3 for humans, so 7.2km/h for normal walking, 14.4 km/h for running
which is pretty fast, but this is the maximum for walking and running
so a normal human can walk up to 7.2 km/h fast, but if they want to be faster they need a running test, each hit adding 2.4 km/h up to a speed of 14.4 km/h

Now imagine getting stuck in shopping mall traffic behind a family of dwarves. Waddling slowly but broad enough to take up all the space.

Aaaand that's how I got my criminal SIN.

I am raging at this concept.

Going through the rules, Trolls seem to have very short legs too, moving at the same pace as dwarves.

Now imagine trying to get to the beach when you suddenly run into a horde of Troll Grandmas blocking the sidewalk, following a guided tour.

>Going through the rules, Trolls seem to have very short legs too
All jokes aside, if the troll movement speed isn't a sign of how horrible their attempts att balancing between versions is, I don't know what is.

>Sassy neighbourhood troll grandmas would be terrifying.

>All jokes aside
I didn't mean that as a joke, I could totally imagine Trolls to be short-legged. Its a common way of depicting hulking beasts after all.

>Sassy neighbourhood troll grandmas would be terrifying.

Different question - is there anything in the lore about treatment for degenerative diseases such as Parkinsons and Alzheimers? Would I break lore by having a crazed not-Ahab Troll with Alzheimers my groups next Johnson?

With Bright, GOTG and Thor, time is ripe for a Shadowrun movie.

>Bright
max_landis.trash
>GOTG
How is an epic space opera related to Shadowrun?
>Thor
Wot?

Also we are already getting another Blade Runner. Shadowrun as a movie sounds awful to me, mixing fantasy races and Cyberpunk is tons of fun as an RPG but it would take too much away from subtle-not-so-subtle class differences in a movie.

>I could totally imagine Trolls to be short-legged. Its a common way of depicting hulking beasts after all.
In SR they aren't
They are bulky, large humans
Pic related is from 4e CRB

>is there anything in the lore about treatment for degenerative diseases such as Parkinsons and Alzheimers?
Gene therapies exist

Corrective Gene Therapies
The simplest gene treatments, corrective therapies group a
number of different treatments that address undesirable hereditary
disorders, genetic flaws, propensities, and predispositions such as
progeria, muscular dystrophy, hemophilia, sickle cell anemia, pro-
pensity for cancer, and Down syndrome. Each treatment corrects,
treats, repairs, or removes the genes or precursors that have been
linked to one hereditary defect or condition.

Corrective Therapies 1 week ESS 0 AVAIL 4 COST 15,000¥
Augmentation page 88
probably also exist in 5e

GOTG and Thor because of the visuals.

>Chinese Tourist Group, except Orks and Trolls

>>Corrective Therapies 1 week ESS 0 AVAIL 4 COST 15,000¥
This is actually great. This ain't exactly competitively priced for the general population and might be something for the group to organize for the poor soul if they like him as much as I hope they will. Thanks a lot.

Aren't they a bit too "candy" in your opinion? I tend to describe most scenes as breath-takingly stuffy, and illuminated mostly by Neon and searchlights, but that may just be me.

I mean I can imagine them being short legged in relation to their size, meaning their legs are slightly longer than a humans but still short for their overall frame.
But putting their movement speed on par with dwarves is just retarded.

>Tiny asian troll of 2,20 in orange monk robes taking pictures of old cathedrals
>blonde swedish big bossom ork girls laughing at the back of the bus
>Naga businessman in cheap suit shouting Indian pidgin into his comlink, trying to get a cab to come
>Centaur asking for four-leggend "Cowboy jeans" to bring back to his daughter in Greece

Sometimes I just want to go back to hating on brown people. This world has turned to shit.

They kinda are too colorful for a proper Shadowrun movie, but nothing keeps you from taking a step back.

>This ain't exactly competitively priced for the general population
I'd say as a GM you try to take everything with a grain of salt. For example I'd say that cost is for someone with a decent health insurance.

On another note I imagine a lot of theme works similar to vat growing vital organs, so they dip you in a vat and have nanomachines help rebuild your regrown or newly grown parts, in accordance to your rewritten genetic codes that they've been programmed after.

>>Naga businessman in cheap suit
>naga
>suit
???

> Aren't they a bit too "candy" in your opinion? I tend to describe most scenes as breath-takingly stuffy, and illuminated mostly by Neon and searchlights, but that may just be me.

You could use the stuffy candy style of GOTG and Thor to create contrast between the different scenes. The rich places are all colorful and look like a GOTG scene while the low-life places look like your pic.

...

Thank god for O I'd say. Cheers again.

Anyone here with knowledge of the German books? How Toxic is the Elbe river?

Just another day in the sixth

Okay I've designed trolls in accordance to 5e movement speed.

Trolls have the physique's of orangutans?

Thanks mate, I really needed that laugh.
This is now my headcanon.

>Reading Rigger 5
Wait, so Drone arms are now exactly the same as Cyberlimbs just at 50% discount and they just cost 1 MP?

Does that mean that I could modify a Dustoff into a flying VTOL Mecha body, using the 4 body mod slots for two arms and two legs?

Is that a dwarf... for ants?

The general populace can usually take out a loan or get a payment plan with their legit SIN. Corporate citizens in particular, since it's likely that whatever corp they work for either directly offers the treatment at their own facilities or have some kind of deal with a corp that does.

I'll cut you

Hmm, SINless it is then. Can you lose a SIN "accidentaly" if you are raving mad due to corporate negligence and don't have any next of kin?

youtube.com/watch?v=cVQRoF0W84o

Yeah
You can even have it fire Assault Rifles with your Automatics skill if you jump in.

I think it's highly improbable at this point. Two crashes later I think they've learnt to backup their SIN registry. Now if someone actively wanted to terminate you out of the registry that would be another matter entirely.

>he lets his players play deckers/technomances and mages so he has to juggle three separate games for them at once

Why? They'll be happy enough with a street samurai or gunbunny or physadept or rigger.

>Why?
I'm not sure how often you play games were the mages want to spend all their time in astral space (because that's just unnecessary) or hackers don't even take a shit unless it's in VR.

It's really not as problematic as people make it out to be.
Technomancers are an exception. Perma banned.

Good try at math there. Actually it would be 3.6 km/h walk, which is pretty average and acceptable and 7.2 km/h running. Pretty much to be expected

Sooo... theorycrafting.

Generally you get one attack per phase, even if jumped in. But what if I got myself a Shiawase I-doll with occular drone eye as well as 4 Aztechnology crawlers with one arm each, have them cling to the i-doll and shoot 4, potentially 5 weapons in a single action using a swarm software?

Why are mages and deckers acceptable but not technomancers?

Personal preference, they don't have a place in my setting. I've never read the chapter and I never will.

>Actually it would be 3.6 km/h walk, which is pretty average and acceptable and 7.2 km/h running.

>Average stat for humans is 3 (AGI 3, INT 3, etc.)
>Movement speed is AGIx2m per turn
>Average movement speed for humans is thus 6m/3s = 2 m/s = 7.2 km/h

My bad, forgot to multiply by two

How would you guys deal with a foot pursuit scene in a crowded illegal market, rules-wise?

I was thinking of giving people cover and if you miss by the cover amount you hit bystanders, but the seems very "clinical" for what I hope could become a down and dirty fight scene.

Consider giving the characters firing an "Attacker in melee combat" penalty as well? I know a lot of games actually has a penalty for hitting their target when the target is in close combat with someone else, but Shadowrun lacks that I think.

>but Shadowrun lacks that I think.
nope, that actually exists

or rather it is a mod for the defense of the target
DEFENDER IN MELEE TARGET
OF RANGED ATTACK
When a defender is putting all his attention on the at-
tacker trying to take him out up close and personal,
he loses perspective on incoming ranged attacks. This
means a –3 dice penalty to his Defense test due to the
distraction.

Sounds good. So, since I'm running high neon we would have quite crazy lights going on, meaning a total modifier of -4
>Mild glare -1
>Attacker in melee -4

Meanwhile, the defense would be changed modified by -2

>mild glare -1
>Defender in melee -3
>Partial cover +2

What else can I add apart from this to make the scene have more flavor apart from soundtrack and describing people running around?

Yeah I know about that one, and I do think it's a good thing that you get a penalty to your ranged defense test while in melee.
But at the same time, if you have an enemy and an ally engaged in melee and you just want to hit the enemy, that's more difficult than you'd imagine.

Like most RPGs point out in regards to melee combat, it is NOT two people standing flatfotted in place taking turns hitting each other. It's a dance, with blows, feints and attempts flinging around all the time, while the role in itself is just an abstract of how well you manage to execute your moves against your dance partner. Sure between low level fighters it might look more like two drunks trying to tango, but that's still techincally dancing.

Random chance of getting tackled by a panicked bystander (or someone trying to play a hero even), roll defense to avoid. Chance of tripping over things. Knocked over market stalls that might need to be vaulted. Crazy old foreign lady up in a window above tossing stuff at the runners shouting angrily in a language they can't understand, likely telling you to fuck off.

Obstacles: The defender can use the various stuff around him to block paths. Clothing/NERPS racks block the route and slow the attackers down. Liquids can make them trip.

Height: This works for both defender and attacker
The defender can try to get higher ground, which can mean an easier time to escape, though if they fail they are a sitting duck
The attacker can try to get higher ground to eliminate blockades (giving better sight on the defender) and try to corner/jump them

To expand on what other say
if you fire at some in melee and he dodges the other target have to also roll dodge or be hit per rules
Also I would say the enclosed space penalty would also apply

>Would you allow her to have cybereyes that automatically get heart-shaped "pupils" depending on her levels of affection/lust/sexual arousal towards the person she's looking at?

With a 100 Nuyen cosmetic modification, plus some way to scan their brain, sure
