I think they will just make some primarchs come back, get the emperor killed (give the kill to some faction with little winnings the past year so the fans of that faction can be happy), and then freeze the story for another few decades. Empire would have primarchs and a new governmental situation to make their dicks hard, choas would get a lot more stuff now the emperor cant keep them in check, eldar can both kill humans for being retards for giving warp so much territory as well as having some parts join the empire to close ranks, and much more.
