Hey /40kg/, I just managed to pick up 3 Imperial Knights, and am looking to run them in a local 75PL tournament, I'm set on running 1 of them as a Knight Crusader (27 PL), but i'm lost on the other two, Any suggestions on what to run them as/what wargear to take? Thanks a bunch!

I’ve always wanted to do a Ordo Hereticus Inquisition army after first seeing pic related but I’m not sure what models to get exactly. So far I’ve got Greyfax and two squads of Tempestus Scions to use as inq stormtroopers. I was thinking rhinos for transport but I have no idea what else I would need. I only really want a small force of about 1k points or so.

If it's PL, then Knights can only brought if your opponent agrees to it. The only time I've seen anyone run a knight in a PL game is when it's some sort of themed mission like a last desperate defence or something like that.

It's an extremely skewed list and not terribly fun to play against if you aren't ready for it. That said it's not even the most powerful list. Depending on how competitive your local meta is it may be perfectly fine.

Had a tough time against a Space Marine list with my Orks the other day, and he didn't even have chapter tactics.

Can't really speak for him but I think we both had a good time, but I can't help but wish my Boyz had performed a bit better. I was able to surprise him by jumping my 30 boyz unit into his backline and charging his Captain and Librarian but I wasn't able to get many attacks off and the Librarian lived on 1 wound with the Cap taking no damage. My Dakkajet was almost destroyed turn 1 and then took 3 wounds off of a Razorback before dying. All in all I had a hard time concentrating any force onto his side of the board while he was able to pick off my stuff one at a time. I was also rolling pretty poorly that game, but I don't want to that at fault for everything. I guess it didn't help that it was the Hammer and Anvil.

A 6 I'd say. It would be a 7 if he hadn't bothered doing (and botching) the object source lighting.

Like a 4-5? Neatly done, but just basecoating, washes and dry brushing. Little in the way of highlights.

That might have been the intent, but it has become the "lets have fun with plastic soldiers" format, and it's all the better because of that. 30PL could be a fuck ton of plasma, but it can also be a mix of units with risky moves and do or die assaults.

I think it's in Xenos's hands to rescue Chaos.

There's been a slight pushback, but nothing significant. Praxmia Skyport might become a 50/50 split, but I don't think it'll fall over to chaos, at least not for any significant amount of time, since it's worldwide.

Imperial Knights. If you mean infantry then a Termy heavy GK list or Battlesuit only Tau list.

The faction with the lowest model count is Imperial Knights, which I understand are very powerful in powerfaggot levels.

I get Chaos and the Imperium, though I don't get why Imperial Guard can't ally with Space Marines but can with Custodes.

Technically? Knights. If we're talking least model count that people actually play against, then Grey Knights with lots of Paladins, Dreadnoughts and Dreadknights or a Tyranid Monster Mash.

Thousand Sons can be quite low model count if you don't wanna take Tzaangors.

GK are very low count as are "Wraith host" eldar. It takes a bit to kill them but you feel every single death, kinda makes you appreciate their sacrifice when they have to do something crazy but you will feel like a fool if you let them die due to reckless tactics.

It does not work like that. Factions have keyword. If they sharw the keyword rhey can be in the same army. Orks have keyword ork. No one else has jeyword ork.

Eldar, Deldar and Harlies are together. GSC and Nids are together.

Necrons, Orks and Tau are separate from everyone.

Well, I think the COD loadout is better than the carbine, because a) they have an easy time getting into melee and b) using the Shock Grenade is less counter-intuitive than having to move a unit with 24" range up to within 6" for it.

The choice between Grav-Chute and Grappling Hook comes down to whether you want something that is just decent and reliable (Chute) or something with higher risk and higher reward, namely the chance of either appearing within grenade range or appearing completely stranded.

You don't have to battle Imperials for Chaos to get points. You can just play against Death Guard and give the points to Chaos no matter who wins. That's why Imperium, the most played faction by far, is guaranteed to win.

Xenos wins generally seem to be taking points from the Imperium, at least as far as a few minutes of tracker watching indicates.

Can people convince me to play an established chapter? Every time I start planning to buy marines, I get annoyed at how everything feels so set in stone.
I want to do stuff like make my own chapter master, but all the chapters I look at already have chapter masters with established loadouts. I feel like I can't make up my own stories when I play an established chapter.
