Wraith Squadron characters in x-wing when.

Never.

Do mods on attachments stay if you swap the weapon they're attached to? Like if I have a foregrip and I pop it off of my carbine and put it on a rifle does it keep the accurate mod I gave it?

Third for shilling for Armada

Yes.

don't remind us, how the fuck did Tetran Cowall of all people get a pilot card but based Piggy didn't?

In other, more assuredly genuine leak news - keen eyed persons have spotted Bomber silhouettes on some leaked TLJ LEGO sets.

All I want in my fleet is star destroyers and other capital ships. Do I actually need Ties and other Fighters?

I mean hell, even him showing up is a nice thing for me.

That said, I'm gonna paint Night Caller on the side of my CR90, that's for damn sure.

In Armada?

You can get by without squadrons, but you are gonna be hurting yourself, and you'll have to get really good at flying Raiders.

I'd say that on average you're gonna be playing at 120% difficulty if you never bring squadrons.

I'll join you if I ever get one. Already have a T-65 in Wedge's custom colours from Bacta War, I intend on doing the same with CorSec green and an E-Wing at some point.

(OP)
How would you stat this weapon for FFG?

Bigger .webm this time.

Sup Veeky Forums, I'm the guy in the last thread that was going to develop a learning AI that plays X-wing, and plays it well.

Upon some further research, I realized some more things-

- The AI would need to be re-developed for each list it flies, so that effectively means it can only be taught how to fly one-list.

- Teaching it how to fly each type of ship would be similarly intensive.

that means I can make one of two types of AI.

A. - An AI that flies a single ship list. Either it flies just Corran or Soontir, or it flies a fully loaded ghost/shuttle and uses HotAC AI when the ghost dies.

B. The list is comprised solely of identical generics.

Which of the two would work best, and what should the AI learn to fly?

My current plans are

1. Super-Corran
2. 5x Omega Squadron Pilots with Weapons Guidance and Crack Shot
3. 3x Glaive Squadrons with Crack Shot
4. Thug Lyfe
5. Quad TLT aggressor.
6. 4x Kihraxz (post vaksai)
7. 5x Snap/Crack A-wings.
8. 4x B-wing
9. Triple deadeye Scurrrg
10. Quad T-70
11. Double Falcon
12. Double Decimator
13. Triple Bounty Hunter
14. Quad TIE Advanced (accuracy Corrector+missiles)
15. Quad Syck.

Note, the list would be almost impossible to update, so it would have to stand the test of time.

What would you guys think would be best at standing the test of time, not getting nerfed, needing new mechanics, or getting pushed out of the meta? Sould I post a poll up on reddit/ffg forums/any of the podcast pages?

Niiice, the green gold checkers?
Got any pictures?

And yeah, Im constantly erring back and forth about going in and giving all my t65s the grey bars of the Wraiths, especially since I tend to end up taking Wedge and Wes most times I use them anyways.

Sorry it's both huge and shit quality, lazy phoneposter here

Swanky as shit though, I like it.

Thanks! Spent the other day adding engine glow to my HWK-290 and YT-2400 with some airbrushing. Had to clean some excess off with a tissue and some thinners but on the whole I like how it came out.

So has anyone else noticed that Luke and Rey's new outfits have a rough weave that makes them look like chainmail? I think it's really cool and and really drives home this new medieval aesthetic they're going for with the NuJedi.

It's really obivous with Luke's outfit here. The tunic where the belt fits around is so close to the right color and texture that I actually mistook it for chainmail for a second.

It's definitely a comfy, non-desert tunic aesthetic that befits people hanging around in a place which is being shot on-location in the British Isles, anyway.

I haven't seen a lightsaber on any of the Luke pictures

Quite possible he doesn't have it. I can easily see him having thrown it away and relying purely on the force like many thought Yoda and Palpatine did before the prequels.

Did you guys see the lego leak that has the First Order TIE Bomber in the background?

nice spot

Wonder if the Falcon will be chased through an asteroid field and make a reference to mynocks.

I wonder if someone will have made a cloaking device for a ship that small by now.

Why do rocket boots, jump boots, and the jetpack function as silhouette 1 but the armored drop suit functions as silhouette 0?

As someone about to get involved with X-Wing, can I have some recommendations for Imperial ships? I'd like some idea of what to buy/what not to buy going in.

Hey, a lot of the information in the OP is pretty out of date: I need to walk another user on how to set up the API for roll20, can anyone lend a hand with that? Or direct me to a guide that he can explain to him?

Imperial veterans and the tie FO give very self sufficient collections of upgrades

A hypothetical scenario.

A rebel cruiser gets boarded by Vader's forces. Knowing all hope is lost, the captain decides to do one last screw you to lord vader. Ordering his men to set the ship to self destruct and strapping themselves with explosives loaded with deadman switches. The bombs go off, killing Vader and his retinue inside the ship along with the rest of the rebels.

What kind of retribution would the Emperor do in this situation once the short lived celebrations of Vader being killed is heard throughout the galaxy?

>I need to walk another user on how to set up the API for roll20

Well first up, you need to have gone full goy for paid sub on it, the 100 dollar one.

Oh yeah the dude shelled out already, he loves running games

Send the Inquisitors out on rampages in places with suspected rebel ties. Both a show of force and a "we have more" type thing.

Damn son.
I wanted to, but couldnt justify it to myself. If they had APIs at the lower price point, id buy it in a heartbeat, but 100 is nah-fuck-off territory.

There's a page on the r20 wiki for it iirc, which is what i was reading through originally - read that?

this page? wiki.roll20.net/SWRPG-API-Compatible

That's the one.
DOnt know how hard it is to put into practice - I was reading through it and it seemed okay but then I realised I'd have to shell out and gave up the process.

Alright, I'll try

The challenge is having to play "tech support" since I'm not even able to see the interface

Probably a variant of the bowcaster I guess, those get kind of scary when tuned up

Does anyone know when the next episode of the Kessel run will be out?

He left it in Palpatine's throne room, he doesn't have it in Vader's death scene.

But he does have it in Shattered Empire, which takes place like a week or a month later. So either he built another lightsaber immediately after Endor, or he somehow did manage to take his lightsaber with him and we didn't see it.

He has it during the celebration at the end. If you google there are pictures. He is NOT just happy to see Leia.

Hey folks, no-duplicates Imperial from the last thread here. Saw the advice about giving the Phantom FCS and swapping Predator for something else on the SF.

Unfortunately, the format means I can't have FCS on both, but the point about Predator meaning the SF already has re-rolls was good. I've kept Predator on the Omega and swapped FCS and Collision Detector around. I don't see CD getting much use, but it's 0 points.

Buy: Things that look cool to you
Don't Buy: Things that don't look cool to you

Unfortunately, I think that advice doesn't really hold for X-Wing. The way the expansions are sold means that unless you seriously don't care about being competitive *at all*, you're going to have to buy ships you don't necessarily want.

I had no real interest in Scum, but I still bought a Starviper, because it's the only way to get the autothrusters Interceptors need to get by in the age of turrets we now live in.

>you're going to have to buy ships you don't necessarily want
There's always eBay. Also proxying, if that user doesn't intend to get serious about tournament play.

This. Just print your lists out on geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Rebel Alliance&d=v4!s!&sn=Unnamed Squadron&obs= and fuck those cards.

Sure, as long as your group is happy with it, there's absolutely no reason not to just buy the ships you want and play with squadron builder or the like.

As for singles, the prices can be pretty outrageous. I'm still chewing over whether I might as well just buy the U-wing for Expertise and get it over with. That said, I live in New Zealand, so shipping being pretty savage is an additional hurdle to buying singles.

Speaking of proxies, I've got a local Store Tournament coming up, and whilst the list I *want* to bring is this:

geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Scum and Villainy&d=v4!s!265:-1:55:15:T.16,U.36,U.128;135:42,241,145:54:8:M.25,M.32;212:18,-1:43:15:&sn=Mock Thweek&obs=

I'm pretty doubtful over Guns 4 Hire being available by the 23rd of August. So I'll most likely be going with this:

Captain Nym (Scum) — Scurrg H-6 Bomber 30
Adaptability 0
Twin Laser Turret 6
Extra Munitions 2
Cluster Mines 4
Cluster Mines 4
Minefield Mapper 0
R4-E1 1
Havoc 0
Ship Total: 47

Dengar — JumpMaster 5000 33
Expertise 4
K4 Security Droid 3
Unhinged Astromech 1
Punishing One 12
Ship Total: 53

geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Scum and Villainy&d=v4!s!253:170,135,126,-1,-1,127,127:53:-1:U.239,u.240;171:220,-1,-1,122,118,-1:29:-1:&sn=Unnamed Squadron&obs=

My problem here is, I've only got 2 Cluster Mine token sets. So how okay with decently made proxies are Store Tournements usually?
If worse comes to worse I could go with the Rebel variation which is Dash and Bomblet Nym, but I really think this list could be the answer to a lot of the stronger metalists right now.

Debating whether or not to kitbash some guns under the wings. It'll do for now at least.

Tournaments are generally FFG official stuff only. You could always check with other players there if you can borrow some cluster mines.

Looking way better than the original design that's for sure.

I was getting a 40k Valkyrie vibe from the cockpit and engine placement while mucking around, the paint scheme might end up reflecting that

I like it.
Also looks like an angry space Hind sans-rotors which is cool.

If it looked like that normally I'd be a lot less conflicted about buying one

Agreed with this user. Even chumabalya our resident hero, says that you should start playing something you want and like to play.

Plus: The meta changes every few months, so if you really want to stay competitive you will be buying new minis pretty often, and buying a ton of stuff you don't want just for one or two cards and upgrades.

If you want to play a game, then just get whatever you want to play.

While a collection of your favorite ships probably isn't going to end a worlds-caliber list, things change prettty quickly in the meta and if you're just starting out worlds is a ways away. Early on I find it better to just play a lot with a wide variety of ships/builds/lists to get a feel for things and find what fits your particular playstyle.

You will lose games, that's just part of the learning process, but if you have a good group they will help you learn the important lessons. And when you finally get that W it feels so satisfying!

Alright /swg/ I've got an imp assault question, which seems pretty rare considering the Xing and ff-rpg dominate the threads, but I really would like opinions.

I play skirmish with a friend, and he insists on playing scum, while I swap from rebels to imp pretty often. He always brings a rancor and that thing is mean. Especially with the same reach as most of my lighter blaster units. He also brings gamoreans and usually java.

My problem is, I can't seem to kill the rancor effectively. I do kill it about 1 out of 3 to 4 games but even when I do I have to devote so much of my effort and units to it that I usually can't compete against the objectives.

Without atst because it is bad, or hover tank because I don't have the hoth expansion yet, how do I build something to defeat his tarpit?

I like to run rebel rangers with as much reinforce as I can get and either luke or obiwan. Sometimes both.

Any help appreciated.

>and usually java
I didn't realize that programming languages were so important in Imperial Assault. Was there a big slicer-themed update recently?

Surely someone tried such a thing at some point and failed

Didn't the Emperor have five apprentice candidates running around at any given time in case Vader slipped up?

Vader killed those guys when he found out about them.

Yeah but then didn't he just get five more?

I refuse to believe there were not consistently Plan B through Plan F backup apprentice candidates

looking very LAAT/i-esque. Which is a good thing

You get through it with Pierce or flat damage. Vader and the Inquisitor tear it up, Jet Troopers overrun, grenadier, that sort of thing. For Rebels you have the best unit in the game, Alliance Rangers, to kill it with pierce and hunter cards like tools for the job, heightened reflexes, abs assassinate.

Just be happy he's not running scum hunters.

Has anyone seen the potential leaks of a new x wing FAQ? Looks like scum, jumpmaster, and k wings are about to get nerfed

Anyone have the stats on a LASER BATTLE AXE?

I forgot to include the link because I'm a dummy

reddit.com/r/XWingTMG/comments/6pwctu/xwing_faq_leak/?st=J5NXTDJK&sh=a867e35b

>Jumpmasters to lose torpedo, salvaged astromech, and Illicit slot (they become part of equipping Punishing One).
>Advanced Slam affects only SLAM if it's on the action bar
>Attanni Mindlink is some kind of kooky limited/unique so only two ships in your squad can have it

Glad I sold my collection six months ago tee bee honest.

But all of those are good changes, user.

Fuck off Carlos, slicers are for the next release along with beatstick stormtroopers

I see what you are saying, but that beast in mellee means I usually end up using my surges in the accuracy as opposed to the flat +2 damage. The double blue are nice, but dang son the rancor just soaks up damage too well.

As for vader, I use him, and I like him but he is hilarious to me when i use him with 1 squad royal guards and a RGChamp. Blitz is best, but the rancor usually goes for the guards anyway and tends to get two of the three.

I'm trying not to feed him Vic points because that doesn't take win conditions into effect. And having royal guards especially elites red card guards die isn't doing me much good.

If they nerf TLT, Biggs, Scurrgs, and buff the T-65 and TIE Interceptor, the balance should be much better.

These changes are a good start though.

Have you tried lightning reflexes? Get rid of one of the rancor (tamed?) defense die so it can't soak as much?

eRangers get double blue with a reroll, native pierce, plus your standard 3po/Gideon focus farm nonsense. They have crazy native range do you shouldn't be surging for accuracy. With that, Hera, and hunter cards he should go down like a sack of bricks.

What do you think would be good changes for all of those things you listed?

I was personally hoping they would find a way to limit Attanni's worst abuses while still leaving it as an option for Scum jank swarms.

Because one of the things it's really good for is bringing bad Scum ships to an acceptable power level - I've had loads of fun with my 3x Mangler Cannon Mindlink Scyk and Mindlink Palob list.

If you hit the Jumpmaster (Personally I would have liked both Barrel Roll and the Astromech get shifted to the title) and then tacked on a smaller nerf to Attanni ("You can't have more than one focus token" was my personal favourite) you'd hurt the top end abusers like Scouts and Fenn while not affecting the "fair" Mindlink lists with TPVs or Kihraxzes or whatever.

But I'm a filthy casual what do I know?

If I wanted to get into X-Wing and wanted to play Scum, what's a decent entry purchase look like?

What are the "OP" (I've seen the discussion of potential incoming nerfs) things to avoid in a casual environment, and what are any potential "trap" options that aren't very good?

I already play Armada.

Well, if true the SLAM one basically ends advanced SLAM for the foreseeable future. Nobody should be paying 2 points to SLAM into a focus or TL. That doesn't seem like FFG's style, but of course the leak seems to be from playtesting so who knows if some of these ideas will stick.

Maybe clones allowed.

This is what I get for sleepyposting.

Most wanted, Punishing One (Jumpmaster), Shadow Caster, and Protectorate Starfighter are right now the best Scum ships that pretty much everyone who flies Scum flies. The first three have tons of good upgrades. You may also want to look into getting a Starviper and Kihraxz Fighter because the Guns for Hire expansion coming out later this year looks like it'll make both of them pretty decent.

Is there any reason to buy the original core set over the TFA one.

If you're sure that you don't want to fly rebels, then propably not. The original comes with R2-D2 and Biggs, which are both fantastic for rebels but that core set doesn't really offer anything for Scum.

Also, I forgot to mention that the Scurrg just came out and it's looking like it's going to be a good ship too

T65s are the sexiest Thing alive, and so is Biggs. Plus wedge' s ability makes him a lean mean shuttle killing machine since most only have 1 green dice to begin with. Integrated astromech made all t65s shield2 hull4 fighters. R2d2 is best astromech.

Can someone explain to me what the point of the Captured TIE modification is good for? Sure, it lets you avoid being attacked if your PS is high but once you fire a shot then it's open season on you

It's free movement behind anyone you like.

I like that it's good from both a balance and muh lore standpoint.

Jump, Protectorate, Shadowcaster, Scurrg are all the strongest options. Most Wanted is a good value for some solid options. Houndstooth and Mist Hunter are underrated. Viper and Khiraxz are getting a buff from Hired Guns.

I think trading 1 card for making aces viable again is a good trade. Fuck K-Wings.

It's mostly for Ahsoka to keep her safe while helping your squad out. Just don't attack.

Alright, sure. Bombs had their like, 3-4 waves to shine after being trash for 6 of them. Aces can come back.

You know though people will just get sick of them and FFG will release something else to fuck their shit up though, right?

Tabletop sim has an Xwing mod that adds a bunch of ships including the extended t65 aces we need and they are even pretty balanced and fair also adds a bunch of EU imp aces as well and some cool new ships like imperial strike shuttles.

Are you saying it adds Wraiths.
Looks like im going mod hunting.

Gosh darn 500-ish already? Time does fly when you have fun it seems.
Let's see how much i can remember from all of it.

Luke & Mara. EVERYWHERE

Space Wrestling

SpAce Combat

DARK GREETINGS

Sienar's a drugfiend

Did i miss anything?

Do you think the next big bad in Rebels will be Trioculus?

TLT- change to Attack(Target Lock) or only allow the second shot if the first misses.

Scurrgs need a point increase so that triple deadeye homing Scurrgs stops existing. That's 2 points on the PS 3 generic.

Genius astromech needs to not work on a bump.

Biggs- Biggs only obstructs ships at range 1 now.

T-65- when defending, change 1 blank to a focus. Makes them all more durable and makes Luke great again.

TIE Interceptor- give them all PTL for free without spending a slot or points. They need PTL to be usable, and this also gives the aces actual build flexibility.

Can't forget
pain train
transparasteel legs
XWW actually writing things
shipfag actually statting things
phantom pain hypeposting
And of course
dearly departed questanon

It's one with a space battle picture is all I remember. It also lags the shit out of the game since it spawns fucking everything at once, like a retard. it's a great mod. Be careful with the L key

Naw he's already the big bad in the new trilogy

Yeah, but that have to give him a tie in somehow so normies will know who he is.

Ideally they'd both be not shit.

But you know that would never happen

I'm thinking about going to an x-wing store championship tomorrow. If I do go then I plan on taking this list, what do you all think?

How long do Armada games last when you play? Are you playing to six rounds like in the core set or deathmatch?
