Totally serious question:

Totally serious question:

Regardless of anything to do with rules quality, why does Pathfinder have a lot more "anime" players with anime characters than 5e?

Those are the two most popular systems on Veeky Forums and Roll20 but you'll see a lot more anime avatars and anime character portraits for Pathfinder.

Because 5e is more popular, more mainstream, and thus filled with "normies" who spend less time tolerating weeaboos and underaged kids.

Pathfinder, as the less popular system, is more niche and has it's own insular community, which leads to a different kind of cancer.

Take that answer or leave it.
I know I'm replying to a bait thread anyway.

It probably has a lot to do with ease of entry alongside rules encouraging animesque character design in some cases. Pathfinder is an entry level RPG being based on D&D and had a lot of players due the dissatisfaction with 4e. Once 5e came out it pulled back in D&D purists and fans of rules lite systems with classic fantasy elements but didn't appeal to anime fans love of the flash and flair. I could be completely wrong though.

>Pathfinder
>Anime and waifus
The common denominator here is autism and being socially inept.

5e is made for the mainstream which means the people who don't like anime and would normally be watching reality TV and football are playing it. Mostly because they saw a celebrity do it and then their friends did it and so on. Basically its so easy and simple (And vague) that nobody can fuck it up and when they do the people playing don't care enough to call it out. So proportionally less niche interests like anime in it.

Pathfinder's more numbers based, allows more precise character creation which draws in people with weird interests aka weebs. Lets you make your anime waifu/self insert without much trouble and gives you the options to do it about however you want which is an appeal to fat nerds like us. Being free on the SRD helps too.

>"anime" players with anime characters
What does that even mean?

They also have kitsune and other weeb races as primary non-LA races.

That goes for any flavor of D&D, not specifically PF.

I love these threads.

They don't have LA at all, which is somehow both stupid and sensible at the same time. Humans are arguably better than most races but they never needed to take a level of Human for their benefits. No reason shit like a gargoyle would.

Every paedophile I've ever met playing TTRPGS has been a Pathfinder player.

so 3.5 is for degenerates? im in

For the record, are we talkin' meme pedophilia that describes people who like chicks with small tits or actual pedophiles who keep pictures of lolis on their phones because "she's actually 9001 years old so it's okay."

I know a dude who got arrested for CP... Pathfinder was his preferred system

No that's pathfinder. I think most people that didn't want to be a fox-person just skipped from 3.5 to 5e

The latter. I don't know what the fuck "meme paedophilia" is, nor do I want to.

...

As much as I hate 3.PF and the retards who play it on Veeky Forums, I don't think it's necessarily fair to paint the community with the same brush based off of one sick fuck.

I'm playing Devil's advocate here btw, I'm not about to waste my time going on about #notall3aboos.
>I don't know what the fuck "meme paedophilia" is, nor do I want to.
I already explained it.
>people who like chicks with small tits
It's pretty much just an insult that people throw around if you don't like big tits for some reason.

>nor do I want to.

>keep pictures of lolis on their phones

That has nothing to do with being an "actual pedophile."

Keep telling yourself that, degenerate scum

If they weren't pedos then they wouldn't feel the need to defend the fact that they spank it to an underaged girl with "well, she's not AKCHULEY underaged."

It's the same shit as faggots who feel the need to go on about how straight they are.

Pedophilia is pedophilia, regardless if you're a child molester.

This is the same as, say, someone who jerks off to shit; they're still a scatfag, even if they don't take baths in septic tanks.

There's nothing wrong with being a pedo anyway.

...

Because PF has actual rules for classes, races and other anime options.
5e only has monk, but so does PF anyway and monk players are always red flags in any system.

It implies a tremendous deviance in what should be normal.
>muh freedom to be a degenerate
KYS kiddiefucker

I work as a janitor in an elementary school and haven't been tempted to touch any of the cute little girls.

Don't the developers of Pathfinder rabidly hate Monk and shit on him whenever possible, nerfing him because "oh that's not realistic even though we have fucking wizards muh verisimilitude" and not allowing him to do things that actual real life humans have proven are possible with proper training?

Don't be mean to the pedo, it's all fine as long as you don't act on it in real life.
t. Necrophiliafag

>didn't appeal to anime fans love of the flash and flair
One of the monk archetypes is not!DBZ.

Yeah, that's true, there's no reason to pick monk. It's just that some of its archetypes and things he can do are still pretty anime(though I'll admit not to the degree of say the magical girl archetype) and the class only attracts the worst types of players in either games.

>what should be normal
Yeah. Celebrate violence! Condemn love! Make more criminals! America!

kys

I'd tell you to kys, but that'd probably make you hard.

It's more Avatar and it's also bad.

Violence is virtuous when against subhumans.
Love is degenerate when it brings harm to children and brings ruin to human decency.
The law is the law, and those who break it must be punished.

You fucking hippy nigger.

>Love is degenerate when it brings harm to children
Convincing children to be professional victims hurts them. I hate rapists more than you do, but more than half the "rapists" you condemn aren't rapists at all, except as defined by a law.

>The law is the law
Laws change.

Because those type of people will be on roll20

>but more than half the "rapists" you condemn aren't rapists at all, except as defined by a law.
The law is the law. What rape is defined by is what it is.
Now, whether it's a GOOD definition is up to debate.

>Laws change.
They do, but the law is the law. If something is illegal, it is still illegal even if it was previously legal, or if it will be legal in the future.

Congrats. You fail on the one qualification that matters for a janitor in an elementary school, but made it past the hiring process

End your life as quickly as possible.

They have race points, which is kinda like LA.

>entry level
>not rules-lite

This some quality bait, even better than OP's.

Maybe not from a legal perspective, under the condition that you never ever ever act on it or handle it, but from a societal, social, or mental/emotional perspective, it's still kinda messed up.

>Implying that the party of "your house, your rules" isn't more pedo-positive than the party of nannying and child protection laws

They fixed it at least enough to put it on par with Fighter with Unchained Monk, regular BAB progression d10 HD, and made some of the more useless skills optional and gave more options.

>from a societal, social, or mental/emotional perspective, it's still kinda messed up.

Not really.

It is because most people in society think it is. It doesn't have to be, but in modern society, it's considered messed up. Maybe one day it'll change (it certainly wasn't always this exact way).

Social norms should ultimately be ignored as long as you're not out in public.

Wrong

So you're saying I can go to your house and shit in your living room since I should ignore social norms that tell me that I need to shit in a toilet?

It's the art style of pathfinder that draws them in. It resembles anime so they gravitate to it

Pathfinder has options that draw directly from anime, and animesque characters in its setting.

because both have "mild" magical realming in them that and pathfinder is basically an anime system.

I'm still trying to figure out what the fuck this opening post is even saying? Is it talking about artstyle? Presentation? Is the player a character from a cartoon from Asia?

...

I actually wasn't baiting I was just giving my understanding of the situation so allow me to explain myself. When I say Pathfinder is entry level I mean it's based off of D&D which is the largest and most common RPG around which means that newer players are likely to come into contact with it at some point. Also I realize 5e is not that rules lite in comparison to other systems however comparing it to just other versions of D&D it is significantly more rules lite than 3.PF or 4e. (I wouldn't really know for 2e because I honestly never played besides Baldur's Gate)

Pathfinder is what you GM if you want to have kitsune and catfolk making up the party.

Pic related was from a recent official Paizo blog that adds a monstergirl race, and this isn't an unusual thing for Pathfinder to add.

Pathfinder books cast their net very wide to try and attract everyone.

Actually, it depends who you ask.
If you ask australia, full grown adults below C cup cannot be in porn because it's pedophillic.
Bad news, small ladies.

Much easier to just judge based on age.

>mfw i understood that pic

Because to play something else you need mad social skills to convince anyone to learn it?

Pathfinder is the heir to 3.5, that's pretty much all there is to it.

The law is, often enough, bullshit. That's why a person is tried by a jury of his peers, who can look at the situation and make a decision.

what's funny about this is like, multiple characters in the 5e campaign i'm in have anime portraits, and we have no less than 2 lolis.

I mean, that's actually less fucked up when you think about it. Fucking a child can screw them up for life, whereas corpses, while revolting, can't really be traumatized.

Sunsoul monks were literally AD&D 2nd ed. Back then, Gygax's only interaction with the Orient was through shitty toys, not anime.

You mean improve them for life.

I don't know where this fucking meme started of small breasted women being banned in porn in Aus but it needs to fucking stop, you're spouting complete bullshit.

t. Australian.

That's weird. GURPS games on Roll20 typically don't have anime bullshit, despite being the easiest system to do extreme anime bullshit.

Shit there's a perk or some shit that gives you a bonus to defend if you're half naked. There's scores of ways to get a tiny anime girl with a big ass sword, too.

probably because it happened and then was revoked when australia was used as an object example of awful government.

But user-kun, everyone likes fluffy tails

yeah but that's GURPS, you can do anything from gritty realism to cowboy knights in space so most people use it if they can't think of another system for their setting.

I've hardly ever seen anyone on Veeky Forums who "liked small tits" and didn't also post lolis. DFCfags are cancer.

Y'know what, you have a point there.

thissss

GURPS is too complex for the anime brainlets.

GURPS is too difficult for your average tabletop players to grasp (especially if they started with D&D) and most of them don't want to actually put in effort to create a character.

Which is weird when you consider that 3.PF is about as complex as GURPS and yet people only really have issues when it comes to GURPS.

Go figure.

GURPS is also pretty old. Back when a lot of us started with GURPS anime was just catching on in the U.S.

>That's why a person is tried by a jury of his peers, who can look at the situation and make a decision.
Based on the law; Jury Nullification is the worst thing to ever come out of the judicial system.
The law is the law, and shold not be subject to the whims of random citizens.
Bullshit or not, it is the law, and all citizens are obligated to uphold it.

Funnily enough, jury nullification is also the law.

Real girls are annoying monsters.

It's an unfortunate anomaly of the law that never should have existed.

Thankfully you don't have any say in the matter. The premise that the law is always perfect is absurd

I never said the law is perfect, which is exactly why it can be changed.
Perfect or imperfect, however, the law must be followed until it is no longer law.

t. Lawful Neutral

...

So it's fine to judge the law when it's that one, but not in the case where the law says it's okay?

Liking teenagers (as in the ones that are legal in most of the US and generally the entire world) and/or "petite" girls with lithe bodies .

:^)

Following the law =! Not criticizing the law

It's fine to judge the law in any case, so long as it is followed.

Pathfinder is less popular than 5E?

D&D is lighter, and overall its character creation options are less in terms of mechanics, but it's more grounded and less flairy in its approach, and it's tough to break the system completely or make godlike characters.

Pathfinder is heavier and more restrictive in terms of roleplaying, but it allows for far more mechanical customization and for some very powerful and gamewinning builds, with flair and over-the-top mechanics and abilities.

Pathfinder has more content overall, but some would argue there's less variety due to the amount of bloat and power creep that it has.

D&D is lightweight and in many ways a superior game to play, but it's lacking in character options and in particular class archetypes don't feel different enough.

D&D is more accessible due to its familiar license and small number of books. At most you'll need two books to play D&D, and one works fine. For Pathfinder you need several books to play effectively, and these books often go out of date from new editions. Both systems are full priced.

Pathfinder is being phased out for Starfinder, its scifi equivalent, while D&D is continuing to get expansions. Pathfinder is much older than D&D (5e).

At the end of the day it comes down to your personal taste, but don't let Veeky Forums fool you. I've seen plenty of weaboos play D&D in real life, and plenty of non-weaboos play Pathfinder.

>GURPS
>Complex

Pick one. The term you want is "effort driven" The more effort you put in, the more you get out.

>Pathfinder being phased out for Starfinder

This is news to me.

If meme pedophiles like flat chests, and actual pedophiles like lolis, then what do we call the actual child fuckers? Normies?
