Looking for people who want to do a game/campaign of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, 2e.

user who is going on holiday, I would love to be a part of something like that (if you'll have a no-hoper like me), but for obvious reasons I won't be able to join you for the next couple of weeks.

Maybe we could find some way of keeping in contact, that I might drop in when I get back?

As usual, I'm available to GM but you'd have to be willing to play in the Monster Girl Encyclopedia setting.

why why ruin it that way? I don't get it...

It's like you are openly advertising that you're Magical Realming the setting.

Nth for obscure Kurgan lore
I don't think there's enough on the Hung though

I'm literally starting a 2nd e game! We're all meeting tomorrow to discuss plans, characters, and how to's. etc... only requirement is, we're looking for 'newer' players.

app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/2423812/warhammer-fantasy-roleplay

>It's like you are openly advertising that you're Magical Realming the setting.
No shit. Though I'll admit that WHFRP would be a fitting system to use for it for several reasons:
>There are a lot of basic templates for a variety of different races for characters and it's easy enough to work out a template for use, either as a nerfed version (Beastmen characters that are generated are far stronger than they should be), or generating a new one (such as for orc, goblin or zombie characters). It also means that characters that have their race changed during the campaign can easily have their characteristics modified with a minimum of fuss.
>Corruption and mind-break mechanics are already present. Tome of corruption presents how to use corruption values of an area in a campaign and the rulebook itself has the insanity system to represent being taken by a monster.
>Since human-aligned humans have godly empowerment, that can also be done simply by re-skinning chaos warriors. Though in my case, rather than the chaos of mutations and rewards, I'm thinking that earning such bonuses will instead grant some free but fixed statline advances which I'm basing around the differences between chaos careers and regular ones.
>Magic can be categorized into two forms, corrupt monster magic and 'mundane' magic.
I'd be willing to GM for both teams of players who are monsters and incubi trying to corrupt the world or pure humans, elves and dwarves trying to prevent that.

Miiight just be me, but it's not letting me in. Saying "Not Authorized."

Hmm try this one:

app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/84267/warhammer-fantasy-roleplay

If that doesn't work, just search the main roll20.net page for Warhammer fantasy roleplay

Looking for your game, but I don't see shit when I search "warhammer fantasy roleplay" in matching keywords, or when I look for "Warhammer" as the game being played.

Nevermind, I found it. Posted a topic.

Yep, I think I responded to you....if it wasn't you then I responded to someone else. lol

Okay, Warhammer Fantasy has been a little better at allowing alliances and friends than 40k, but there are still some obvious restrictions - Humans would almost never work with Beastmen, Dwarves would never call a truce with Orcs.

Do you think that things could - or should - be loosened up a little, particularly with how Total Warhammer approaches diplomacy as something you can do with potentially any faction?

No, that was me.

I feel obliged to warn you here that my talk of being a fun-police type of person was no idle boast. And I can get really steamed if I think people aren't taking it seriously.

But, hopefully I'd be able to get through this.

ehh... in that case....

You responded to the other guy going on holiday. I'm the one who said I was there from Warhammer Fantasy General. i'll hit you up on Discord.

>Humans would almost never work with Beastmen
You can always fluff an Empire force as Chaos renegades to justify a very shaky alliance with Beastmen.

For the record - I'm Bane. Big guy for you.

Truly your originality knows no bounds.

He says, without the smallest shred of irony.

Nickname I got that actually doesn't involve me memeing - just a mask and bigness. My friends are unoriginal.

Same with Vampire Counts I suppose, but that always kind of sucks. for people who want their loyal Imperials cake and to eat it too. The opposite would suck for people who hate the idea of non-Chaos Beastmen or something as well, so it sucks there can't be a middle ground of any sort. At least in the End Times a shaky human and undead alliance was justified, even if it took a world-ending threat.

And then there's this degenerate

>when you remember that we could have had Bohemond Beastslayer or Repanse de Lyonesse

There is nothing wrong with Alberic.

He is a pretty alright burger compared to a double-bacon-thickerthanthick-burger, or a patty melt with cheese curds. Or whatever else you find delicious.

The point is that he's really a kind of generic lord, and the only reason I think he was included was for future updates where being navally active would be a much bigger deal. And even then, I could count the number of shits people would give on one hand if someone had stuck Bohemond or Repanse in his place.

They will have to make Wood Elves and Beastmen fleet from scratch.

I imagine a big sideways tree, and a really rickety raft-boat. More raft than boat, but not quite a raft.

>Same with Vampire Counts I suppose
If they're Von Carstein you can make them Sylvanian levies. Lahmians would have noble human allies to call on too.

Repanse isn't from that era.

Neither is Vlad or Azhag, what's your point? If she'd be a fun character to play, they'd bullshit her in with 'the Lady called her back from the realm of the dead to fight in Bretonnia's time of need' or something.

Vlad is a vampire and can be rezzed. Azhag's active period has always been vague.

So can Konrad in theory, but he's not around, and Vlad wasn't brought back for hundreds of years in the lore for whatever reason. Vlad was brought back because he was popular.

And Azhag's history is vague...except that it was recent, possibly within living memory or a little farther back, and he was confirmed dead as a doornail. He was brought in because he was probably one of the few Orc characters people can name besides Grimgor and they needed a second Greenskins character, and threw in Wurrzag later.

Repanse de Lyonesse could be as easily handwaved in as you're handwaving the existence of Vlad and Azhag in the game, and she's probably one of the few named Bretonnian characters people actually know, if nothing else because she has tits. And if you still want to argue that because of her set timeline she doesn't belong in there, fine, but then there's still Bohemond - and they're both still better than Alberic 'Everyman' de Bordelaux. You could even justify Bohemond in Bordelaux since Bastonne and Bordelaux have good relations, and Bastonne is often entrusted to a steward anyway.

What do you guys think about this armylist? Festus and my BSB will join the unit of chosen while my DP, together with the chimera, fucks shit up on one flank.

>e was brought in because he was probably one of the few Orc characters people can name besides Grimgor and they needed a second Greenskins
It had more to do with him being very distinct from Grimgor. Magic + wyvern mount. Most of the other orc warlords, like Gorbad, Rotgut and others, all fall into the same mold of bashy fighter.

>all army is nurgle aligned
>spawn of tzeentch
Why?

Just to fuck with you

Well you succeded

Because change has to start somewhere.

Really though, it's just me having points left and thinking that another breath weapon would be nice. If you got some other suggestions that's more mono I'd love to hear it.

I can totally imagine a Nurgle army capturing a Chaos Spawn of Tzeentch and making sure he can't mutate and using him as some sort of weapon or sick joke of a mascot, in a 'stagnancy trumps change' sort of way. It'd be kind of like being a Khornate with a daemonette stuck to your banner as a prisoner/trophy.

Talking 6th ed here. I'm trying to come up with a rune combo for my Lord. I usually list tailor, but i figure i have to come up with a generic rune combo for quick plays or turneys.

My main plight are weapon runes, because i'm torn between the master rune of speed or the master rune of destruction
Striking first as a dwarf is basically death for anything he touches, unless it's a fucking elf, while the rune of destruction will basically makes an enemy hero useless at the first hit (not wound, hit)

What are your suggestions on the matter? Bear in mind, i'll probably park this lord in a unit of hammerers with a banner of slowness so maybe i have some hipe to charge first (and attack first)

Explain.

>khornate with a daemonette as a prisoner
I reckon the other way around would be much more conmon. Taking prisoners isn't the khornate way

That's actually a really neat idea. I might have to steal it.

>Khornate with a daemonette stuck to thier banner

Speaking of this

All we really know about the Hung is that they ride steppe ponies, are execellent bowmen, and are supreme oathbreakers.

Also they like elfs, since apparently as early as the Storm of Chaos Morathi was able to bribe herself an army's worth of meatshields to take to Lustria off of proffered elf sex.

Do you think there's a chance for bretonnia units to make an appearence in made to order?

>thousands of official and unofficial warhammer art out there
>posts a random anime elf
I will never understand this guy and why he injects his cancer into the thread.

Your consistent and hilarious reaction, probably.

I seriously doubt it, sadly. The Bretonnia line hadn't sold well in years. This wasn't like how they offed the Diaz daemonettes for political reasons.

She's probably into it, this IS Slaanesh.

Repanse could be sent back by the Lady, just change her death in the game by saying she went into Athel Loren. I won't be surprised if we DO get her now that Norsca is a thing. She skull fucked thrm when she was around.

>54584476
>Your consistent and hilarious reaction, probably
If you think posting on-topic pictures is hilarious, than I have bad news for you.

>unlikely
I'd pay good money for some grail knights

Me too.

Oh dear, now he's so mad he thinks he can deny 'yous' to get his way.

Absolutely not. Humans and Beastmen are completely inimical to one another, for one. Dwarfs would never work with Greenskins, it would be an oathbreaking action and invite Grimnir's wrath. The only 'evil' factions who can and do occasionally work with their enemies are the vampires, tomb kings, and dark elves...and the kangz aren't even evil.

So who is this Repanse people here keep blabbering on about?

Tomb kings would never ally with Vampires

joan of arc but no artillery and infantry.

Do we have enough lore to turn border princes into a viable faction?
If yes the what units would they have? What would they specialise in? Do they even have any important characters?

Eh I think it depends on tomb king in question.
Khalida sure as hell won't work with vampires, but I think Settra would be willing to work with them...if they bend the knee and accepted him as their ruler that is

Repanse d'Lyonesse was a peasant woman from Lyonesse. During an invasion of Bretonnia, the main body of the chivalry was broken and routing, so the Lady appeared personally to Repanse and charged her with removing seanigger. Repanse grabbed a horse off a dead knight, snatched up a banner, and charged into battle while everyone else was routing. The sight so shamed the knighthood that they rallied and countercharged, taking the Norscans by aurprise. The Chaos fag in charge of the invasion tried to kill Repanse, but she was so platinum mad she just beheaded him in a single stroke. That broke the invaders and they fled to the sea.

For her actions, Repanse was ennobled and made the Duchess of Lyonesse. This was the first and only time such a thing happened.

I can think of 2 possibilities

Against Nagash and against Chaos. But that's it.

>pray to both Sigmar and Ulric and Myrmydia as you can't have enough of divine protection

I suppose it depends on person to person. I suspect most Old World peasants would only pray to one, as they'd have deep held beliefs and self identify partially by who they worship.

Day to day they'd definitely offer lip service to each, but before a big fight?

WAR was kinda abysmal. Everyone playing a hero who could eventually tank fucking giants just shitted me. Felt too much like WoW. I ended up just speedhacking so I could check out the maps.

And they were fucking underwhelming.

Sounds like a clever scam. I like it.

Just doesn't click with Chaos Gods MO. Low-to-no interaction with his worshippers, no lesser daemons of his ilk. All we really know is that he taught dwarfs magic and may have demanded sacrifices. Since the Sorcerer Priests are the only ones who know the true history of their race, it's not entirely impossible that there never even was a Hastur and that the whole thing was one chaos dwarfs scheme to keep his people united in tough times.

This is an improvement from previous AoS maps, but still an overall downgrade. It lacks...soul.

>n-n-notice me senpaii!

Grow up, faggot.

Also, what's with the trend of retards calling WFRP WHFRP?

>This is an improvement from previous AoS maps, but still an overall downgrade. It lacks...soul.

It looks like World of Niggers shit, literally.

>Settta and Abhorash tagteaming against reigning champ Nagash.
>Everyone gets decked by Kemmler and Krell out of nowhere with chairs.

Still an upgrade

Dwarfs would never call a truce against orcs, but they would ignore them (if it was safe to do so) and use them as a distraction against a greater threat.

Go with Destruction. Your Lord can usually tank enough damage to swing if he doesn't go first.

Question: Do Chaos Dwarf Daemonsmiths still practice a form of Runesmithing?

Nop Chaos Dwarf can't into Runesmithing anymore; something about forcing the practicing of magic into them fucking them up.

>app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/84267/warhammer-fantasy-roleplay
Am I ever glad I popped onto Veeky Forums this morning! When the posting stopped showing up I figured you had found all the players you need. Glad I didn't stop reading the books.

>no lesser demons for Hashut

There are the K'daii. They are lesser demons bound to hashut, even if they don't resemble him

Is that headcanon or legit? The most I can find is a reference to them setting Runesmithing aside, but given that even humans and skaven use runes in their magic item creation, it seems more likely that Chaos Dwarfs just gave up on runes not useful in daemonsmithing and hellweapon manufactory.

It's also possible most or all of their runesmiths died during the cataclysm that turned them to Chaos to begun with. No teachers, no students.

Aren't thise literally magical golems of fire and metal made by the sorcerers?

>With the K'daai they have sought to do something more, to create a race of beings, half-daemon stuff and half-raging fire drawn from the magma of the deep earth and birthed in the boiling blood of Hashut's burning sacrifices, given form and contained within an armoured framework of articulated iron and rune-stamped bronze.

Not really lesser daemons, more hyrbids made by Chaos Dwarfs.

Ooh, also shows they still use rune magic.

Well they still have demon stuff in them. If the sorcerers used the blood from sacrifices to hashut to animate them, they could count as lesser demons of hashut even if artificially made.

I like to think that when hashut came to the chaos dwarfs he was a mere diagraced demon, but the dawi-zharr made a god out of him

Well they can't use it in any edition of the tabletop, and really they are no reason to not make use of this. I assume that's because their Sorcerer are something unatural for dwarf, being able to use magic like other race. They probably loosed their runesmith too. I don't see any other explication for stopping the use of rune.

No, there are just certain faction in Total Warhammer that would not ally up.

Though amongst the groups that can become allies I've no problem with lasting alliances being possible, if the player can change the warhammer world for the better with their ability the possibility should be there.

Also lizardmen should be able to ally with non-chaotic factions as inscruitable as they may be, as long as you don't touch their shit.
Returning 'Lustrian Relics' taken from other factions to them should be a way to improve their favor and make alliances possible.

Well if i, as a member of a magic-resistant race suddenly found out how to use proper magic instead of using runes and discovered that i could make equally powerful artifacts by binding demons into stuff at a fraction of time and effort, i'd set aside runesmithing too

Does he actually use his trident now? Makes him look more unique

I agree with you Repanse de Lyonesse should be brought back by the power and will of The Lady, she is the anti-chaos hero the world needs

>old ones were working to make the perfect world
>suddenly the gates at the poles collapse and chaos gets through

This always sounded like bullshit to me. the only eay this makes sense is if the old one's project was being actively sabotaged from the inside

Fucking chaos lizardmen when?

Your autism that causes you to bitch every time, pretty obvious.

>Not binding the two together
Dawi use runesmithing instead of "proper" magic because they don't like conventional magic anyway, they find rune more stable, more trustworthy and much more suited to their use.

But perhaps it is best the Chaos Dwarf don't have it, would give their army a "Everything like dwarf but much better" edge.

Actually, was reading Realms of Sorcery recently, and that's one of the things implied in it. That Chaos started to 'leak through' in tiny amounts, before the Gates ever collapsed.

>Fucking chaos lizardmen when?
Fucking never! Don't forget your place warmblood!

It's not bullshit. In order to create the world and run their technologies and magic, the Old Ones tapped into the Realm of Chaos.

The Chaos Gods who are the absolute masters of the Realm of Chaos viewed this as theft and trespass. An assault on their person and sovereignty. The Chaos Gods lashed out and destroyed/scattered the Old Ones and then proceed to attempt to dissolve the world to take back what was theirs. The Elves prevented this by creating the vortrex.

What do we learn from all of this? The Chaos Gods did nothing wrong.

>implying ANYONE is crazy/stupid enough to bring back Konrad

I don't care about the Border Princes.

But if it somehow got the Grudgebringer Mercenaries into the game, even as a 'Rogue Army' for hire, I'd love it.

I, too, am tired of risking my life for peasants and ale money.

Allahu ratbar

>Allahu ratbar
I squeeked

Best. Warhammer. Vidya.

>the chaos gate was an inside job
>chaos fuel can't melt Old One's beams

I feel it's a combination of factors. Loss of experienced runesmiths, better alternative options, difficulty overcoming their new access to easy magic instead of the slow process of rune mastery. Result: any runes that don't help bind daemons - like with the k'daii - are probably lost.

>Everything like dwarf but much better

Yeah, that's Chaos Dwarfs.

Hail to the Phoenix King.

*banishes you to the warp*

The scowl face looks bad. I want the calm face from End Times. It's more kingly.

>bitter manchild
suits him perfectly.

>anything chaos
>better
Fuck off

Everything in this game looks like shit up close CA please keep to broader images

Keep sucking tha elf cock, cuck.

Where do the Welves get the metal for their armour and shields and stuff?

Now what's the point of a guy like him having a sexy flesh-and-blood wife/concubine?
