perturabo is a cool dude

Second for da Orks!

Goffs rule, da rest are grots.

Posted last thread, but could you guys give me a hand with refining this before shit hits the fan:
Gameplay:
> Turns happen like they do in LOTR
> You move, I move, you shoot, I shoot sort of thing.
> Stratagems can be used similar to how might is used in LOTR.
> Movement restrictions and cover is based off of Armageddon

Combat:
> Tactically there are different stances like in Armageddon and LOTR that allow units to act in different ways with pros and cons.
> Firing arc and weapons based of of Armageddon too.

When it comes to HQ
> We split HQ into heroes and warlords.
> Only one Warlord can be used per force
> Guys like Chaos lords got split up into "Chaos Lords" and "Champions of Chaos" with one being a hero and the other a Warlord.
> HQ choices get Might Will and Fate like from LOTR
> Personal Stratagems can be played by Warlords at the cost of might.

The next steps are to translate fluff to crunch with new unit rules. Our initial ideas involve making autoguns salvo 1/2 (without the half-range penalty for moving) and keeping lasguns rapid fire for different play styles.

Haven't seen much rules yet, but how tough would it be to have some demons rolling alongside a primarily DG list? I mostly want Plague Drones and not much else with my marines.

Pic for fun

Do you guys think the new codex next week will help alleviate Chaos sucking at invading Konor?

I'M GAY

So whats stopping a Mechanicus inclined space mariine chapter from putting the brain of a fallen marine in a land raider to use it as a machine spirit?.

Malignant Plauge Casters can summon too.

Maybe, I guess.

Mortarion at week 6 might be more of a boost.

Anybody know what I might need to round out my Thousand Sons force?
I've got
Magnus
Ahriman
3 Exalted sorcerers
2 Daemon Princes
20 Rubrics
10 Scarab Occults
20 Tzaangors
40 Cultists
4 Helbrutes
1 quad-las Pred
2 Start collecting Tzeentch Daemon boxes

any help would be appreciated

It's okay, son. So are the Dark Angels, and there's nothing wrong with that.

It doesn't work that way.

Don't chaos already have a massive advantage as it uses power?

you just run a faction nurgle army and when the death guard codex comes out be sad/ try to summon since that doesnt count as part of your detachment.

Cool, cool. I didn't really get to play much last edition so I'm still new to summoning, but it sounds pretty simple. Thanks.

I also have LOTS OF STDS
and a BLACK TRANNY WIFE

nth for divine milkies

Personally I'd get a greater daemon. Maybe some more converted obliterators too but gee that looks good already.

shut up, /pol/! You try to derail every thread!

How would you go about converting Dark Eldar Rangers? I want some snipers but the models are resin so I can't just swap bits around.

NO! HE ISN'T! AND YOU WON'T TALK ABOUT HIM IN SUCH DISRESPECTFUL MANNER YOU LITTLE SHIT!

Hey anons, you've given me some good advice for my fledgling marine force of late, wanted one more bit of feedback while I'm finishing off painting my guys.

The current list is:

Captain with Power Axe and Combi Plasma
Devastators x 5 with 2 Lascannons and 2 Missile Launchers
Devastators x 5 with 4 Grav Cannons
Razorback with Twin Linked Heavy Bolter and Storm Bolter
Razorback with Twin Lascannon
Venerable Dreadnought with Assault Cannon, Storm Bolter and CCW
Thunderfire Cannon and Gunner

This means I can ferry all my foot troops about if I need to and then get fire support from the Razorbacks, which is nice. The Techs can keep the Razorbacks up for longer too.

What I'm thinking of though is dropping the Heavy Bolter Razorback for an Eversor Assassin; I feel like having that in reserve is going to force the opponent to keep their backline troops more guarded, which in turn means I should have more time before my small force gets stuck in melee. If I did this I'd run Raven Guard Chapter tactics, which would help accentuate my advantage in a long range fire fight, as well as make up for the transport loss by letting me use the Strategem to set up a unit or two (the Grav Cannon Devs, maybe with either the Cap or Tech with them) on an objective or in a good firing spot. I'd spend the extra points on a Combi Plasma for the Techmarine or something similar.

Thoughts? Basically it comes down to Eversor vs Razorback.

Why not? They use serf brains as machine spirits for missiles, what if they run out of dreads or the marine to be used as a machine spirit for his land raider?

Yeah I'm really on the edge of my seat for that codex to drop. Hoping it comes this next month because I know I'm going to have some extra cash.

Opinion:
Go forward with Codex Space Marines or wait to see if Blood Angels book is any good?

Ultramarines focus on adaptability and versatility.

Blood Angels focus on full on blitzkrieg assault.

My preference is for BA overall but all the cool new Primaris Marines focus on ranged combat with the exception of Reivers.
I also think it's safe to assume BA won't get anything close to Robby G. Ultras are good on their own but he just takes them to a totally different level.

Thoughts?

Paint their cloaks as if they were made of skin. GG

I'm really in hot debate with myself on what army I want to start as a new player. I'm looking to piece together a 500pt army one purchase at a time and I'm really up in the air between trying Imperial Guard w/ Admech allies, CSM (Death Guard) w/ Daemon allies, or Dark Eldar.

I've played a few games of Tabletop Sim as each like a year ago but I don't really recall what felt more inviting to a newer player. Anyone got any advice?

Because you have to wipe the brain to make it work.

There would be no point.

...

What's your playstyle? Tank spam?

>500pt
You can get a vanguard detachment going for all those factions. Just get 2 HQs, and 3 tanks. For DE, consider 2 stock archons and 3 ravagers with dark lances.

A couple things:
1. Devestators are meant to sit at the back so don't need transports
2. The captains has no body guard

Give the captian some veterans to combat with him and put them in a razorback followed by the dread. Then put the devs and thunderfire in the backfield on some objectives. Deploy the assassin outside of deployment where he is needed.
Once you are happy with that then get some troops and another HQ.

Taking an Eversor means either losing 1 CP or giving up on all the SM strategems.

So you've got alot of burst shots but not many high power attacks. What are you hiding the commander behind? If nothing then he is as good as dead since he wants to be close.

For anyone who plays GSC, how is the Rockgrinder doing so far?

Personally when starting a new force I go:
1. What fluff do I like the sound of
2. What cool models can I make out of that
3. How can I fit that into the rules.

no FUCK YOU AND FUCK /POL/
RACIST TRANSPHOBIC HOMOPHOBES

So with such little detail on what you like and a vast amount of choices listed I can't help too much. But if it were me I'd say go with chaos as they are new and will have some cool drops soon.

I'm actually not too huge on the idea of having a lot of vehicles/tanks but would like to incorporate a fair amount for the utility. I've heard guard can be more reliant/better results with vehicles over infantry, what about CSM?

Honestly Infantry just for the rule of cool of individually modeling and painting your dudes wants me to have a more infantry focused army.

>Primaris release drawn out to over a month long

fuck this release schedule dude

We still havent seen previews of the deathguard termies or morty

Its my fault really. My attempts to do things that benefit the board make people mad

Capcha = Your fault

My balls can only get so blue.

Have any of you guys gotten shit for using FW stuff in pickup games or similar?

I want to pick up a Scorpion Grav Tank from FW to add to my 1.5-2k army as it is really strong this edition. However, I don't want to lug it around if I won't get to play it.

Dark Eldar: vehicles serve as a way for your dudes to get to places
CSM: Vehicles serve as a way for your dudes to get to places but can also pack a punch
Guard: Vehicles do your hard work but you will rely on infantry to win.

Being more concerned about rules and how viable something is rather than the fluff and looks of the models is a sure sign of a WAACfag in the making.

But then again you are unironically considering switching to Ultramarines so it's clear you're already a lost case.

>and will have some cool drops soon.
We already know there will be no new models released alongside the new CSM codex. And considering all options that have no models or are not included in the kit will be gone, it's gonna be a very slim codex with such a lack of options that it puts the 4th edition CSM codex to shame.

POST ARMIES

He was talking about Death Guard and so was I.

Just look at how AoS went down, where it was almost nothing but smegmarines for ages. Death Guard will probably be the only non-chad marine release for 40k the rest of this and the coming year.

>puts the 4th edition CSM codex to shame
I always buy the CSM codex but am tossing up weather to bother this time. Might just wait to read it first.

Servitor brain computing =/= native machine spirits

There's nothing wrong with choosing an army based on looks AND play style or the fact that you can use a legitimate Primarch in a game.

I'd love to stay with Blood Angels but all the new releases just don't do much for them.

Also, the new Primaris Captain model has a Roman Crest on his helmet, which is not Blood Angel-esque at all.

Was debating a heldrake or 2, perhaps a lord of change? no idea

GW:
>Not all armies will get new units
>Only gives one army new units

Razorbacks are there as much to soak up enemy fire or tie up melee units while providing fire support as much as anything. They're pretty study for their cost.

A bodyguard for the captain is something I'll be looking at some point, but for now they're just going to hang around in the back letting the Devs reroll 1s, not worrying about them getting stuck in unless I have to deal with enemy infiltrators.

Yeah, thats a problem. I'm not sure the 1CP is worth the trade, but damn the Eversor seems great on paper.

You'd have to be a total faggot to refuse. Just don't run multiples.

Both if you can but I'd prioritize the lord of change.

Dude, you know you're getting DG terminators and a Primarch - just be patient.

We SM players would like it if they didn't make us wait a whole month to get all our stuff.

I want to start a new army for 8th edition.

What is the current most hardcore WAAC armylist? I probably won't copy 100%, but I'd like a strong base to work off.

A captain is a bit much just for 1's unless your using lots of plasma.
The razorbacks as distractions are all good but make sure there is nothing in them and your opponent doesn't lock them in combat with their shit-tier units. Also if you are going this rout get another plasma dev squad to get that +1CP

Are Grey Knight paladins worth taking?

180 ork boyz

Wow, imagine if you could put a different fucking head on it.

Entire razorwing DE.

This is true. Have fun, WAAC faggot.

We don't know yet.

Oh definitely. Don't spam them exclusively, but even without character support they kick serious ass.

Is there a xenos tag that can bring these two together?

Anyone else refuse to paint/use models that you think are ugly regardless of their rules?

I know SM scouts are pretty good now but they are just fucking terrible to look at.

Chaos players what are you doing to contribute to the war effort? codex bearing reinforcement is coming for the imperium. Find a grey store in your vicinity and cap that bitch! Every model painted is a fresh coat of icor for your favorite plague marine! Every battle won is another skull for the mantel of your best zerker! Get in there fight the good fight and provide a new bottle of astroglide for a slanneshi ass hole! Every strategem point spent for the effort is a "Just as planned." For your favorite lovcraftian blob/bird hybrid!

I only think about rules once my conversions/paint jobs are done.

>TFW you already massacred the local Ork player doing this twice before turn 4 happened
>With a GK army that only has power-armoured GK in it

sounds incredibly weak.

After some math hammer, I found that armour saves are some serious bullshit. It's no wonder that genestealers are the true rip&tear unit of this game.

This is why I will never have any chad marine unit. Just look like they're from a different tabletop wargame trying to rip off marines and failing at it, whilst using a different scale to avoid C&D

...

As a guy who has collected for quite some time, have a couple of xenos and chaos coming out the wazoo I have decided it is finally time to collect some imperium. I am leaning towards custodies or GK but maybe guardsmen. I always like to do a very personal detailed army so what could you recommend.

thanks! would you know maybe how taking in some admech/skitarii into an imp-guard army like Onagers or some of their infantry?

Yeah that 5++ invulnerable save is bullshit. And charging after advance being build in as well

Custodes

no troop choice?

>Basically it comes down to Eversor vs Razorback.
assback. with mass gravcannons and TFC and the assault cannons you don't need the eversor which specializes in fighting hordes as opposed to more efficient character killers.

i like pairing 1 lascannon with 3 gravcannons, allowing me to use the signum and cherub on whatever i need more - anti-tank or anti-infantry. also the lascannon can make the most out of a command point reroll

untrue, the gravdevs might need to get into range. assault cannon razorbacks are all the current rage for doing that.

Deathstars are dead. Welcome your horde overlords.

Easy, you just can! They all have the imperium keyword so pick up the start collecting and add it in.

Scheduled for the next 14 days 1am to 4pm shifts. In the meantime name my "Koven of Weirdboyz".

Guardsmen, definitely. GK and Custodes are armies of clones.

IG you can make up your own regiments, use whatever historicals to theme your shit, all that good stuff.

>gravdevs
Shit, my mistake didn't read the wargear.

WHERE ARE THE RULES, GW? YOU SAID THERE WOULD BE RULES!

What the hell do you do?

Custodes are not a standalone army at the moment, they only have like 4-5 units and lack an HQ choice so can't be made into a legal army without allying in a leader.
With GK you can go wild with giving each single model its own personal heraldry.
Guardsmen aren't that great to make a detailed army that you can also use to play with, as you generally need a lot of very similar looking models.

Wow sounds really cool why don't you post about it on your blog

What are fluffy ways to add anti-vehicle to a Raven Guard list? Scouts with missiles don't seem to cut it and multi-melta speeders seem too suicidal (and 4+ to hit certainly sucks).

so conscript spam wins the bay area open (against tau)?
>/40kilograms/ BTFO once more

Anyone got a Dimachaeron and Scythed Heirodule? Would like to see some size comparisons.

Da Madboyz. >Guardsmen aren't that great to make a detailed army that you can also use to play with, as you generally need a lot of very similar looking models.
Fuck do you, get a penal regiment, go nuts on different looking guys.

Veeky Forums has made me so paranoid.

Even if you found one you wouldn't be able to play it effectively because you're obviously retarded

Not with me but seen both. Scythed dude is smaller than a tervigon, dimacheron is bigger because its bipedal

what list maker is this

Not being able to pick up on sarcasm is a pretty strong symptom of autism, friend.

You could also take any of the three flyers. Or a devastator squad, or centurion devastators.

Have you tried actually playing 40k

>They had me tested.
>Never told me the results.
