survival horror

play 4e

Dark Heresy where everyone is a feral worlder, no psykers or chirugeons, Arbites/outcast/maybe Imperial Guard background, primitive weapons only. It's pretty much the best DH approximation for current day Earth in general.

The wire except in a cyberpunk setting.

Mostly being in a gang chilling with your homies.
Antagonists would be the the other gangs within the city the cops(to vary degrees of threat), and major crime orginizations.
Doing crimes for cash/fun/being a gangbaners so you can get cool cars, new guns, and fancy cloths.
Repsect would probably be an important secndary currency.

Two ways to do it.

>Gang style
You and your party are part of a gang that's vying for control of the area against other niggas, and you have to rise through the ranks while carrying out increasingly risky plots to fuck over the other guys without getting the police to come down in force on your asses.

>/pol/ style
Full survival horror. You're all white guys stranded in the rapefugee ghettos, and have to survive without getting killed for X days before you can get out.

I've been thinking of doing something like this. This is how you can bring back some of the often forgotten aspects of cyberpunk
Do a game of shadowrun. instead of shadowrunners, your just people living in a neighborhood. Paying living expenses is the goal. Maybe you can dream of getting out. Become a proper shadowrunner. get a good paying job with a corp. Get famous. Get out

make sure the 'hood is populated with plenty of fleshhed out NPC's. Even that Beetle head gets a history.

And these are still PCs. So adventure. Maybe they need to hurry to save a friend who's being set up as a fallguy by some shadowrunners. Make an exciting session out of robbing the chummer shack. Someone, PC or NPC buddy, has a chance at a good job. a chance to get out. But they need certain supplies to qualify. band together to help a friend escape this living hell.

I want to run this game. 90's gangsta rap for the soundtrack, obviously

That sounds really fucking depressing

>mfw white boys don't know what it's like in the hood

Love and hate
Joy and pain
War and peace
It's all in the reign
Sugar and spice
And everything nice

That's what the hood is made of.

Saints Row

>no crack and meth

Like robber Baron's looking to back stab and strong arm their way to greater power behind the king's back. But with ebonics and guns.

That's how.

The whole is apparently world is covered in DA HOOD.

The main source of nourishment is a widespread fast-growing weed with light hallucinogen properties.

Weapons of all kind are wildly circulating. Everybody is expect to be packing. Thing is everybody's weapon is second (or more) hand. Nobody really knows were that stuff is coming from.

The telecommunications systems are limited. There is landline, but each only cover the neighborhood at best or not much further. There are a lot of local radios, but each one has a very limited spread.

White people don't exist, yet some swear to have seen them at night, among the shadows, doing strange things with strange tools.

People around the globe play survival games, it's not really fair to point out shooters are on the loose in America every day.

like that one romeo and juliet movie with leonardo dicaprio and guns?

Without airquotes, for one.

Bet y'all cowards don't even huff jazz

In all seriousness though, the hood is a magical fucking place. Self contained communities with minimal outside interaction or influence. Cops rarely, if ever show up, and if they do very slowly. Danger, wierd traditions and superstitions.

Someone posted Necromunda and that's an interesting take. Partially because in Necromunda there's sort of a lingering "Your fucked" mechanic via the nobles hovering over your head: At any time the rich folks could show up on safari and fuck your shit up.

Thats kind of what it's like in the hood, but with cops. Survival should be a matter of balancing success with Heat, too much Heat makes the police take notice of you and actually get involve. Maybe you can bribe them off. More likely, someone has to take a fall.

>sugar and spice

are you daft?

I was outlining a nWoD Werewolf campaign in the hood. There would be a series of mysterious death linked to a new drug being peddled. Said drug would be powdered bones of a serpent shard spirit and serpents would want to slide freely through the gauntlet.
This and a ghetto werehyena Michone as a storyteller npc.

It's an Underdark campaign

Dassum good shit

Now I need to play this in a Toejam & Earl setting

This is the only way I'd run one, OP.

Like this

yeah, or like the one that's hamlet but with white trash and motorcycles

Wake up at 8am
Walk to beer store slowly
Yell across the street to people you know
Get Beer
Walk back to your house
Have a yelling conversation with someone on the other end of the block
Sit on porch until 9pm
Mysteriously disappear
Get more beer
Have yelling conversations until 2am
Go to bed
Wake up at 8am

This actually sounds like it could be fun.
