The UA is pretty unimpressive but I like the suggestion of doing levelling ever 100 XP.

I'm using milestone but it still feels nice to dole out XP over time so players get an idea of how much impact their actions have. Makes it a bit easier to track and figre out.

Why would we not give it to the party Wizard or other low-strength hobo and have him punch it each time to trigger this 2d10 death wad every round, and only have to deal with a maximum of 9 damage coming his way? Hell, we could even give it to a beefcake for the last charge and have him toss it 5 feet into the air; it takes 1d6 fall damage and we're still only looking at 15 max retaliation.

Just make it do half the damage to you every time you use it.
