Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where not arming yourself properly against men (and women) of faith can be a FATAL mistake.
There is a surprising lack of dynamic Khawarj-art. All posing or sneaky.
Andrew Jenkins
*blocks your path*
Liam Lopez
*Blinds you with disco lights* *Engages you from 4 inches away* *Crits you on a 14* *Super plus jump climbs to the objective and specially operates it* *Throws a Nimbus Grenade for no reason*
Heh, nothin' personerru Gaijin.
Isaiah Sullivan
Yeah, in OP:RV he's one of the least dynamic posed models and the best we got is the box art where it sort of looks like he's jumping so as to mirror the Tigress Soldier.
Brody Anderson
Yep. Even TAGs with superjump get more dynamic pics and models, not to speak about shit like Samaritan and his shadow realm -of a base.
Joseph Garcia
It's a good LT because nobody will even bother killing it.
Daniel Powell
Haqqislam should get some more melee specialist outside of Hassassins. How about a bare handed PH 15 guy.
Carter Myers
>It's time to oil up!
Alexander Mitchell
Ok, so new player, I saw the Maghariba Guard and knew I wanted to run it.
What do I do to make the scorp mech do work? I know absolutely nothing about Infinity.
Wyatt Rodriguez
It's an expensive unit, so the way Infinity works, you'll want to run lots of cheaper stuff with it. You generally won't want to run the Maghariba with more than maybe 1 expensive Heavy Infantry unit, but that's rather easy since Haqqislam is spoiled for choices in the mid-low end of things. You will also want to bring an Engineers and hackers to support it, but that's not a big deal either since Haqq have great both of those due to high WIP. Also, the Maghariba is cheaper than comparable TAGs since it's huge, so you still have a lot of wiggle room there. If you have a solid 10 regular order combat group to put the Maghariba in and a secondary group of at least 3-5~ guys to do other things, you'll probably be fine.
Eli Bell
Bare handed PH 15 guy ... what about the Fat Yuan Yuan?
Jordan Lee
Yo! I just started infinity since figures look good and the rules seem to be pretty fine. I bought pan Oceania and nomads 2nd hand and I have couple of questions. I payed 200€ for these, did I get scammed or was this a decent deal? And can I make decent tournament lists with these?
extra Nagas (monofilament mines) Nagas (hacker) Nagas (Sniper)
Jaxon Perry
No that is a lot for that price. Individual blisters for human sized figures go for about $8 dollars or more, boxes are usually like $6-8 dolars per model for human sized figures.
Dylan Torres
Hm, alright.
Well, I've got an interest in tricky shit, and the faction seems to lean towards that. I'm super interested in the Khawarij for their looks and the Muyib because they seem to lay down mines and traps. Are either of those good to pair with the scorpion tank?
David Wood
Yep, that's a very decent deal. And there's a lot you can do with those Nomads, as both vanilla and Corregidor.
Nicholas Evans
How good are Zerats for MAF?
Parker Morgan
Pretty much mandatory. They're the only infiltrators you've got.
Xavier Allen
Not being in a marker state means they're much more vulnerable than your average camo infiltrator, but they're your only infiltration unit in MAF, so you will be using them most of the time. The hacker has D-Charges, which is nice for the Sabotage Classified.
Camden Ward
When was the last time the Army program got updated? The unit lists seem to be pretty out of date.
Matthew Russell
Well, neither have some obvious synergies with it, but neither are so expensive you couldn't run them. Myib with grenade launcher could lay some smoke for cover, I guess. Taking some Djanbasan with smoke is usually worth it, as they see trough it.
With most TAGs it's usually good to keep your distance. You main weapon is less effective and you become vulnerable to hacking and close combat (the latter being pretty easy way to tie up a TAG).
Christian Reyes
Yesterday?
Jack Evans
Not the online Army, the one you can install on your computer. My copy, at least, doesn't seem to have been updated since April last year, and the auto-updater doesn't pull anything down.
Adam Davis
They don't support the offline one for shit. They barely supported it when it was first released, I'm not sure they even remember it exists.
Wyatt Harris
Contender/assault pistol or combi?
Leo Long
Yes.
Michael Gray
Is the Kriza Boracs Tunguska Crisis Special Uniton Infinity Army yet? As a newb looking to buy the expansion.
Joseph Lee
Yes.
Charles Edwards
Muyib is alright, but they only really shine in their sectorial. That said, a few mines to cut off some approaches to your tank are nice to have. What you really want though is a Najjarun or a Kaplan engineer with a couple of Nasmat to keep your big spider tank operational, a few corner guards to keep enemy dipshits from flanking you, and cheerleaders to fuel your Maghariba with orders. Also, a back-up agression piece like a Kawarij wouldn't be terrible to have for when your killbot bites it.
Bentley Perez
What is it under I've been searching for a while.
Alexander Reed
Nomads. Between the Wildcat and the Mobile Brigada.
Juan Martinez
I must be a right goon or your taking the mickey.
Bentley Johnson
Are... are you possibly stupid?
Alexander Garcia
I don't even know what to mock first...
Christian Ward
It is a possibility. I have spent half an hour between the app and rules and can't find the blighter.
Samuel Sullivan
...
Owen Bell
Oh yeah there it is. Thanks user.
Bentley White
With Maximus being a thing now, what are the chances we'll finally get some interesting rules for shields?
Sebastian Ward
You were asking about Infinity Army, we said yes, so why are you posting old AVA tables?
Caleb Campbell
>Combi+LGL >1.5SWC >WHY
Adrian Young
Looks to be a fuck up by whoever plugged the stats into Army. That should be HRL+SMG. Kamau lost their LGL profile.
Asher Gray
Never, maximus is only for aristeia
Samuel Perry
Was that confirmed? It'd be a shame to waste those nice models on a game barely anyone will ever play.
Grayson Hughes
Confirmed, and they will have 30mm bases.
John Gomez
I reckon Muyib viral mines is a pretty good TAG buddy - real area control there to mix with a Naffatun or two. I guess it's easier to squeeze in that sort of costlier support if you leave the visor off Maggie.
Josiah Hill
Comrades, I´m looking for advice for my midfield ghulam core-link (in QK) >Leila Sharif >Hafza LT (Spitfire) >Ghulam FO >Ghulam D-repeater
but, should I take a Hafza with HRL or Ghulam ML as the fifth? I want a mean ARO-weapon to give it some defensive bite but im torn between the two. Also, there is a sixth ghulam-medic with a nasmat on the list too, so I don´t think I´d want that in this link.
Cooper Baker
Why are you taking Lt Spitfire? You can't hide him as easily if he's shooting, attract fire on the reactive and might eat a crit on your turn. I'd drop the D-Repeater for a bare Lt Hafza then go HRL, because if you really are going to be in spitfire range, that delicious Missile Launcher will never be in a good rangeband.
Lucas Allen
Make the Hafza a normal rifle and give the third Ghulam a HMG. The spitfire is pointless unless your LT already got revealed, in which case you have bigger problems.
Anthony Stewart
Going against tohaa with limited insertion, opinions?
No they won't. I'm making custom acrylic hexes for those.
Samuel Thompson
Seems generally solid. Sat lock+EVO combo isn't quite as much fun without a guided missile or grenade launcher, but being able to induce targeted can still be a useful trick. Lack of smoke might hurt the Intruder a bit. Not sure you're going to need an assault hacker against Tohaa. Is there precedent for your opponent bringing hackable stuff?
Mason Ross
The bandit is a killer hacker device, i chose it instead of forward observer because it was exactly the points it was left for 300.
Ian Turner
Ah. The list being in Peruvian threw me off.
Even so, a Fastpanda on that Interventor might be a better investment. Offensive hackers don't usually have much of a place against Tohaa.
Aiden Adams
OK, I hear what you are saying, but assuing the spitfire Hafza-LT is a ineffecient and risky move, wouldnt it make more sense, points wise to as suggested take a ghulam-HMG drop ghulam-DRepeater and also drop Hafzas all together and simply go for a plain ghulam-lt?
Jordan Fisher
I don't think anyone has used this as thread OP this summer yet. I am disappointed.
Jace Reed
Be the change you wish to see.
Summer has been freezing here
Levi Stewart
After getting the panoceanian starter and the support box, what are the next 2-3 things one should buy?
Asher Lopez
Drone box (assemble as Reaction + Sensor) Crocman (hacker or TO) Bulleteer box Auxilia box
Landon Peterson
ok, I know that proxing is ok in inifinity, but I can't find any other model of croc man the sniper rifle one. do you think he would be better as a hacker or something else?
Bentley Williams
General practice is to snip the end off sniper rifles to use them as normal rifles.
Most common ways to use Croc Men are as FO or hacker (since they're specialists and also have good utility), though minelayer and sometimes shotgun are also good for reinforcing the midfield and hunting down other infiltrators respectively. Sniper is okay, but generally overshadowed by other options.
Brody Moore
Why? There's like only two figures with a shield in game including him, and its not like the rules aren't bloated with special rules as it is.
Luke Scott
I would, but someone else keeps making the thread before I have the chance. Lucky you
Jayden Cox
There are old Croc Man models, but stores prefer to store the new ones. Official store still carries pic related and the old hacker, so maybe you could ask your local store to custom order one for you. I actually like old Crocs more, where they don't look like helmetless Kamau.
Michael Peterson
>could make more interesting future releases >could be used to distinguish knights or other melee troops further >would be more interesting than 'no effect at all' (Azra'il, Mormaer) or 'possibly a ARM bonus all around' (Unknown Ranger) If Nanoscreen can have rules, so should a common fucking shield.
Grayson Turner
Nah.
Liam Jackson
The game doesn't even distinguish between types of CCWs aside from knives and "ammo". Melee is not the focus. Shields look cool, but they are not something Infinity direly needs.
Dylan Phillips
Okay, but ballistic shields are also a thing. And having one of those on a doorkicker might be interesting. It's not like Infinity doesn't have a wealth of useless skills like the stupid vampire gimmick that could be safely removed.
Daniel Taylor
Ballistic shields are just armor for the most part. Statistically it's fine, there's already a gigantic bonus for flanking.
What you're asking for is an effective nerf to models with shields - they wouldn't get the armor bonus when attacked from behind. There's really no bonus worth giving, it's worth like 1 or 2 points of armor that's already figured in to their current stats.
RPGs typically have pretty crappy/generic shield rules so I wouldn't expect any better from a tabletop game.
Blake Ross
Hows the Infinity RPG?
Andrew Martin
The PDFs are done and in our hands, the printing is late. Again. As for how it plays, I've not tried it yet. I need some sort of tablet or reader so I can read it all comfortably. But there's some people here who have played it.
Ian Myers
>The PDFs are done and in our hands, Well, the core and Player's Guide are. The supplements are still in the works.
Evan Brooks
I'd rather wait for them to be done well. After all those delays I can wait a bit more. I'm in no hurry to play. I was wondering if I could pledge more to get the PanO supplement + mini too, along with the Nomad ones (could work as a CSU), but I think I'd rather not spend more money on them than I already did.
Landon Jenkins
Ok, so I got interested in this game because I saw these dudes.
Asking around, I was informed that they're genetic super soldiers who use poison they produce themselves and are immune to most other poisons the enemy can try and use on them.
So, my question is this: can I build an army around these bad dudes, and is what I've been told true?
Luke Torres
I think I recall it once like two months ago.
Besides, summer's not over yet.
Luis Martin
Yes, they recently got buffed. But whom you really want is their leader, Tarik Mansuri. Khawarij dish it out but can't take it, Tarik is a little more resilient. I think there is one Khawarij in Haqqislam starter and Red Veil and Tarik is available in a blister and will be in the Beyond Red Veil box that's on preorder now.
Elijah Hughes
They are good, but they do suffer from being a bit of a glass cannon. Unfortunately, their poison isn't used very often, as it is a close combat skill, and other than the poison, they are pretty mediocre at close combat. They are led by the famous Tarik "Big Dick" Mansuri (pictured second from the left) who is a total baller with a lot more survivability than the normal Khawarij
Jonathan Myers
Well, they are fairly potent light infantry with some solid stats and okay rules. Poison is more of a gimmick, it won't really threaten most things that you can't also shoot to shit, Bioimmunity is hotly debated but in general situationally useful, and Religious makes them reliable. But Superjump is basically why you take them. This allows them to engage from unexpectad angles, take shortcuts and flank like a motherfucker. You could take three of them at most, plus Captain Islam, their bossman. That's way too much though. One with a spitfire (or a panzerfaust in a pinch) and a doctor would be plenty for most lists.
Adrian Peterson
>You could take three of them at most, plus Captain Islam, their bossman Are you specifically restricted to three?
Adam Adams
That's what the AVA in their stat block means. Availability. Can't have any more of a unit in your list than their AVA allows.
Aiden Carter
You wouldn't want more, they are expensive and you want 12-15 models in a list.
Thomas Brown
Right now, yes. AVA3 means you can take three at most. The next sectorial might have a raised AVA for them (plus maybe a link option), but, honestly, even AVA3 is too much.
Nicholas Brooks
>Kharawij core >linkable with Mansuri Oh dear.
Luis Lewis
I want a Zhayedan link so bad
Caleb Turner
Terrainfag here. This is some neon-fishing line. Plan is: somehow fixate it into the outline of chinese signs, then shine on it with hidden UV LEDs. Should make a neon ad-sign.
UV LEDs exist, right?
Nathaniel Gomez
Post pics when done
Camden Anderson
Really retarded question here, but just to clarify, USARF Devil Dogs are dogfaces?
Is the final Player's Guide "v7"?
Isaac Fisher
>Is the final Player's Guide "v7"? I'm not sure. I'll check the BackerKit folders when I get home and see if there's a newer one. There should be a newer version of the core book at some point, if not already, as there's a sentence fragment loose in the Acquisitions section. Mechanically that shit's all done, though. Anything left is minor error correction.
Levi Foster
Do you also know what the final version of the core rulebook is? v9?
Thanks.
Matthew Brooks
>USARF Devil Dogs are dogfaces? ye
Luke Phillips
is this like necromunda? can you level up your guys or is it one offs?
Luke Wright
>can you level up your guys Only if they're spec-ops. There's a campaign system in Campaign: Paradiso, but it's pretty rudimentary and largely locked to the mission set they give you.
Tyler Morgan
It's currently one offs. There is technically a campaign system that lets you level up certain customizable units (they're the unnamed Spec Ops miniatures), but it was released for last edition and also had some generally wonky rules. The rulebook that Corvus is currently working on is an updated Paradiso campaign book, which will bring better campaign rules to Infinity that are also up to date with the new edition, along with a new sub-faction for each faction in the setting.
Of course with the way Corvus works, don't expect that book out any time soon.
Evan Stewart
The most recent Player's Guide is v7 and Core Book is 20170704 which was uploaded later than v8.3.
Andrew Rivera
ah thats a shame
Sebastian Bennett
Aside from not leveling there's a lot more differences from Necromunda. Necromunda/Shadow War removes a lot of tactical decisions and adds a lot of dice rolls. Infinity has fewer dice rolls and a bigger emphasis on decision making.
Jayden Ramirez
oh that sounds good, what do you reckon, a year or two?
Noah Morales
to be honest, we modded alternate activation into necro and mordheim anyway, hence why I like the look of this
