-What defines a movie as "Veeky Forums"? I take that this means it looks like a good adventure/campaign; could be used as inspiration or material for such; perhaps it simply has the kind of crazy shit players and GMs come up with.

-This list excludes very famous and obvious choices which even 90% of Veeky Forums can agree on, like the Lord of the Rings or Terminator; and what may sound Veeky Forums but isn't, like the D&D or WH40K official movies.

-Includes mockumentaries, animation and shorts.

-Please take notice that trailers spoiling things was common until the later 90s.

! man vs unfriendly planet and unfriendly humans is where Riddick shines.

Very good. ENd of the world power level by the end of the movies look ridiculous and imho should have been kept to a more ground level but still amazingly nice.

A 1985 Paul Verhoeven movie, it reminds me a lot of Warhammer Fantasy. It's late medieval/renaissance, all the characters are super weird and gross with more of a focus on bands of violent mercenaries than heroic knights. The trailer spoils the whole damn thing, but what's hilarious about the film is that Verhoeven wanted Rutger Hauer's character to be evil, while Hauer wanted to play a charming rogue, so you wind up with this totally bizarre dissonance.

Seriously, do yourself a favor and watch it. While the idiotic costuming bugged the hell out of me, it's a really enjoyable movie. The ending battle scene alone justifies the film's existence.

Kin-dza-dza! while we're talking about russian movies. Its a goofy late soviet scifi, but it has tie ins with Pananoia and other absurdist scifi like 2000AD. Also a good example of how having half the party be locals and the other half from far away can work.

The first hour of On The Silver Globe has a lot of usable stuff for sword and planet tribal stuff too. The rest is probably not a thing many people enjoy, but its neat.

The Ginger Snaps series seems like a good way to convey the mood for a monsterhearts game.

Ice Pirates is light hearted space pirate romp that's surprisingly enjoyable.

This Gun For Hire is a classic noir that I think has one of the first/early criminal protagonists. Gives a decent rundown of how to make a compelling antihero.

Yojimbo and Sanjuro for classic kurosawa action. Throne Of Blood for his really good version of mcbeth. I rip off mcbeth when ever I want to do political intrigue.

The Lion In Winter while we're talking about political intrigue Veeky Forums related movies. It has some of the best dialogue I've ever seen for that.

The first fight (in the first 5min of the video) hit way to close to home in terms of combat encounters. The Detective is autistic enough in his investigation style he might as well be a PC. I'm sort of surprised this one isn't more well known here
