This game is no longer fun, I think it would be best for everyone if you moved on to another game. Please listen to me, it is for your own good.

8th ed 40k is the best edition so far! Come play chaos or imperium, the important non-npc factions!
Cooper Jackson
Lead the way. and stay go
Hunter Carter
I know, right? Can't beat tradition. Not to mention that a whole Infinity box costs less than a Primaris character, if that doesn't scream cheaply-made I don't know what to tell you.
Ethan Allen
That is great, where does it come from?
Christopher Cox
The Team Fortress 2 comic iirc
Jaxson Allen
Thank you, OP.
Xavier Collins
Haha yes ! 40k sure is a fun tabletop game :)
Hudson Diaz
>8th ed 40k is the best edition so far! That isn't saying much, actually.
Caleb Mitchell
Who's the guy to the right of Thrasy and Lupe supposed to be? The one with the two chicks on his arms?
Hudson Sanders
Kasym Beg, Kum Chieftain, accompanied by the two Kum Enforcers, the Nazarova twins.
Landon Kelly
After like a year of getting used to these threads after falling out from 40k now the 40k threads feel like they go too fast when I go to check it out.
Notably, PanO, Ariadna, and CA were the most played factions there, although that's about as expected, the article also links to a list of lists played that I didn't care to download
there's a 360 view of the CSU that has that houndstooth texture to his jacket
CA being that popular is a little surprising. Especially with 3 SEF players, none of whom are Plebian.
And that's far too many Tohaa players for my liking.
Not too much to say about the lists. Winner played Hospitaller/Magister link with standard support, second place was a Rudy-based 18 order Nomad list with plenty of Jaguars, bots and Morans, third place was Spetsnaz-based Ariadna with plenty of infiltrators and some warbands. Most interesting thing was the Ariadna list having Armand, which I guess makes sense since they don't have much in the way of penalty stacking.
Leo James
Take into account that Tohaa has no sectorials, so those are all Tohaa players. If you sum the total players of other factions, Tohaa comes up fourth after Combined, Ariadna and PanO.
What surprises me is how there is only singualr USAdriana player, only two imperial service and how every single vanilla army is stronger than any of their sectorials. Of course these things will fluctuate quite randomly
Logan Roberts
Wow they released everyone's lists. That's great. I wonder if it will piss people off. The Infinity community seems to be stuck up about lists.
Noah Sanchez
Do they? I haven't found that.
And since netlists are near useless in Infinity I've got no idea why anybody would be.
Oliver Edwards
People are crazy about lists in every miniature game. And this year a very cookie-cutter MO list won.
Jordan Morgan
Which just proves that netlisting is absolutely worthless.
Sebastian Kelly
I think absolutely worthless is too strong.
Good list fundamentals are still required. Playing that list right is just the lion share of it.
Chase Gutierrez
>Good list fundamentals are still required. Playing that list right is just the lion share of it. This. In Infinity a bad list will lose you a game. In 40k a good list will win you a game.
Eli Sanders
My FLGS has a box of Suryats on sale. I'm a new Combined Army player. Are they any good?
Sebastian Turner
Depends if you want relatively cheap heavy infantry or not. They're the cheapest heavy infantry combined has, and they're the only S2 heavy infantry also. As for stats they're mostly average with pretty good BTS
Ethan Lewis
I sure hope the RPG gives us more insight into what different military units actually do. Some descriptions are fine, but others don't give us anything outside of "they're teh best most coolest elitest unit evar!". Like Nisses. Their description told me that the cold is shitty, but these guys who live on the ice planet are trained to deal with it (who'd have guessed). Nothing about their role, why they have MSV, or anything like that.
If you're vanilla CA, probably steer clear. You'll maybe get use out of one of them, but at least half of the box will remain unused. HMG blister is a good investment though.
Christian Ramirez
>tfw haven't played the game in three weeks >tfw haven't painted three weeks either because I can't find a time to prime when it isn't too hot, too humid, or raining.
Brody Cook
Sounds like you need an airbrush
Carter Russell
Sounds like you need a brush on primer.
Jason Torres
Sounds like you need primer brush air.
Jace Murphy
Airbrushes are in that spot where it's too expensive to be an impulse purchase, it's a bit of a commitment. I don't have a garage or well ventilated area in my apartment to use it guilt free.
Nah, that always leaves a bad finish and is easy to scratch over metal models. It's okay to fill in some gaps for missed spots but that's it.
Nathaniel Williams
>complains of nopaint >gets all goldilocks
Man then just enjoy sitting on your unpainted shit.
I cant spray so i make do with brush on. Just make sure you varnish. Plus its metal, you can always strip the models and do it later
Wait wouldn't the list being cookie cutter mean that netlisting is important and that conventional army building that everyone has agreed on is best? I mean "This is the right and optimal way to build the army" comes to mind...
Luis Cruz
Earth.
Alexander Wilson
It's a rather blunt list. Hardly anything someone would call tailored. Ofc the scenarios were straightforward.
Josiah Hughes

Matthew Garcia
Cookiecutter wasn't the proper term. It was more like a starterlist, a how-to.
Hudson Mitchell
Played a 200 point game against Nomads today. I was PanO (NCA). This was our first game playing not-Operation Icestorm.
My list: 5 man Fusilier link (Lieutenant, Paramedic, FO, Missile Launcher, Basic combi rifle) 2 Auxilia FO Hexa (Hacking Device) Aquila (HMG) Bulleteer (Heavy Shotgun)
The Nomads player had a sniper, TAG, hidden deployment guy, mobile brigada, and a bunch of basic troops
I got first turn and moved my link team to a central building and stood on the roof. I moved the rest of my units up a bit behind cover and put the Aquila on suppressive fire. Most of his units were out of LOF, so I took some shots at the TAG and took of 1 STR. The TAG killed my paramedic in ARO. Nomads turn 1 he moved his TAG up but my missile launcher ended up destroying it and killing the pilot before it could eject. He then tried to use his sniper to kill my missile launcher but died to reactive fire from the link team. The mobile brigada peeked out and ate missiles, dying after 3 orders of this and forcing the missile launcher to go prone as well as destroying my link. His lieutenant used his special order and peeked, killing my FO fusilier. PanO turn 2, I moved up my bulleteer and killed his lieutenant. My auxilia on the right flank then moved up and attempted to kill the last guy but he dodged the flamethrower every time. Nomads turn 2 he revealed his hidden guy and tried to engage my left flank auxilia but died to suppressive fire from the aquila. His last man killed my auxbot on the right flank but died to the auxilia.
I feel like link teams are very powerful, but are fairly easy to dismantle if you go straight for the link leader (which the Nomads player didn't do). I made a mistake not protecting my medic but other than that I think my list did very well. Looking forward to my next games which will be against CA and Aleph (we are all beginners).
Parker Cook
Yeah. Line infantry teams especially are pretty easy to dismantle, even a single kill reduces the effectiveness tremendously.
Jack Jones
Most of these other lists are pretty much what you'd expect out of the top Infinity tournament in the world, but some of them are just like
Nicholas Evans
Hey fellas, I'm thinking of getting into infinity and either going pano or ariadna. Out of the following units what would make the most sense to purchase Pan o: dragoes squalos shock army of acontec Ari Caledonian Highlander's ari starter pack force de reponse Thanks
Dylan Cook
Dragao + Acontecimento starter would be the most sensible out of those. Not that it would make particularly good list yet. Dragao can be a bitch to assemble and keep together.
Ethan Perez
Thats a silly and trollish list and I want to run it.
Josiah Mitchell
Am I safe to presume the Keisotsu is the Lt?
Christian Young
That's my friend's list. I haven't been able to beat him with it. But others have. I don't think he wanted it posted.
Jace Ross
Well tell Locke that his secret's out.
Carson Ross
No Shinobu is the LT, but I think you're supposed to think the Keisotsu is the LT. I imagine the Ninjas, Oniwabans, and Shinobu are all deployed in marker state rather than HD.
Liam Long
>I imagine the Ninjas, Oniwabans, and Shinobu are all deployed in marker state rather than HD. Can't you do ARO-Alert and Change Facing at the end of enemy first turn so you reveal into markers? Or does it reveal the TOs fully?
Leo Lopez
Change facing requires a roll which breaks camo.
The Keisotsu is the Lt.
Austin Clark
Is Interplanetary top of the world? Don't really believe 69 spaniards are the top.
Adrian Smith
Are traktor muls duds?
Aiden Campbell
You could idle but that requires having the possibility of ARO
Luke Gutierrez
Thats what the list tries to make you think. The courtesy list is literally just him on there.
>The Keisotsu is the Lt. Except it clearly shows that Shinobu is the LT
Isaac Taylor
I got the OCF 300-point box, but I'm unsure what to assemble the drones as. Should I go with the box's recommendation of Q- and E-drones, and wait until I have some more units to get the other three, or will the M-, T-, or R-drones be good?
Nolan Campbell
My mistake. I can't read Spanish right.
Easton White
>Change facing requires a roll which breaks camo. So Alert only allows others to roll for CF? Fuck, there goes a neat idea.
Josiah Price
QE or QM.
James Gomez
This is what what is weird to me about the infinity community. The "It's not your list it's you" mantra. Saying that lists don't matter is a completely unfounded claim. There's a balance somewhere between it's all the list and it's all the player. The only way we can actually find out where is through data: comparing lists and tournament results. But much of the community, especially on the forums, is opposed to that. I think they're super afraid netlists will somehow turn Infinity into 40k or warmahordes.
Grayson Nguyen
Thanks. I kind of new, could you elaborate on the logic behind that?
Joshua Cooper
No one says that anymore.
Liam Robinson
Q is obvious, it's an area blocker and all around excellent piece, especially since it's like +1 point over its human equivalents but gets mimetism. E if you want unique options - supportware and/or an alternative to a plain hacker. M gives you sensor to discover hidden TO and is a mobile specialist with a nice toolkit. R is useful for list stuffing but it's for waaay later if at all, now definitely get 2 Ikadrons instead. T is very niche. Not many people run TAGs, the order expenditure to mark/launch is significant, and if you do run against TAGs you have monomines, Rasyats and Speculos.
Ryan Mitchell
Neither can I. The little pip-chevron thinger next to the regular and cube is the Lt symbol.
Dominic Sanchez
It was valid before ITS was an established thing. From Paradiso onwards, much less so.
James Butler
Thanks. For assembly, it looks like the only really distinctive elements are the rocket launcher arm for the T-drone, and the rear panels and different head for the E-drone (which might be the same for the M- and R-, given that they have Repeater). Am I right? These things don't exactly come with instructions.
Justin Stewart
I wouldn't know, I like the older insectoid drones much better.
Benjamin Howard
On the side of the box is a little diagram that shows you what each has.
John Parker
The Onyx 300-pt box doesn't come with the individual boxes for the Drones, CA Starter, and Rodok packs that it's made up of. It just has all the bits in a plastic tray.
Ian Garcia
There's pictures on one edge of the box but even that isn't quite clear. Assembly is the same for all with the following exceptions (Other than the missile the pack has three guns, two combi's and the plasma/HMG) Q: Uses the bigger of the three guns as your HMG or Plasma E: Gets the alternate head and back fins. Gets one of the combi's. M: Just gets a combi. R: Little claw arm instead of a gun, same as on the right arm on all the others. T: Missile arm
Easton Smith
Morat conversions! Rasyat because I prefere the more recent style. Yaogat sniper as I had a spare rifle one and don't like how the official one looks
Easton Long
Where's his sniping axe? Everyone knows you can't snipe without an axe.
Camden Gonzalez
But how can one snipe if they dont have their trusty axe?
Grayson Rogers
>want to get into infinity because nobody in my area plays aos >turns out nobody in my area plays infinity either >and ever since 8th came out they also stopped playing 40k >every game store in the area is all mtg and ttrpgs (but only on non-mtg nights)
Xavier Torres
My vanguard paramedic will be the only axe in my force (the Treitak spec ops mini).
Cameron Reyes
Be the change you want to see.
Joseph Watson
It's like that here since the one shop with a focus on miniature wargaming closed in June.
Wanna play MtG and D&D? The other two shops will easily accommodate. Wanna do anything else? Might as well take the 40 minute drive a city over because no one is interested in even sampling.
Juan Hall
3 hours north is a city with a club that does 3 nights a week of sigmar, 1 night of 40k (sharing with sigmar), and 1 night for infinity.
people aren't interested and they don't really want a demo table set up taking up the space of 3 mtg games
Jack Jones
where you at, scrubbo?
Michael Garcia
a metro area with over 2m people... but none of them play miniatures wargames it seems
Jordan Smith
Africa?
Justin Baker
Is a Fireteam duo of Miranda and a rando Authorized hunter?
Eli Foster
any good*
Ian Hall
It has potential, but the one time I faced it, it died pretty easily. Depends what the BH gets from booty etc.
Noah Allen
us west coast
everyone who would play wargames got priced out of the area. Few people can afford the time, money, or space for anything other than TTRPGs (no miniatures) or MtG, and most who can are usually corporate wageslaves who are dead inside.
That's me actually. I really used to be into miniatures when I was young, and so when it's been a desperate attempt just to feel something positive at all. So far I've just spent a bunch of money and painted models that will never see a game.
Mason Allen
Meh. Sniper is the only reliable ABH and tends to stay at the back while Miranda gets close and likes her suppressive fire. Not the best fit for a link.
Carter Watson
Don't you wind up covering all your rangebands thatway? Never seen it, but sounds okay, and when Miranda dies you have those pistols hanging around.
Liam Kelly
What is the best way to get CrazyKoalas that does not involve buying other minis with them?
I want 2 to put with my Taskmaster.
Or is it just better at this point to use markers for this?
Jordan Scott
I would probably just get a Lukohod or whatever and do a really simple press mold because they're pretty simple bipbops.
Noah Cox
A friend took two buttons, put a greenstuff half-sphere on top of each and glued a pair spare antenna's from various models on top of it. Crazy Koala roombas.
Joseph Gray
Man I know how you feel. living in capitol of my country 2.3 mil people. 1 wargaming/card games store. the only thing people play is fan made WFB edition, xwing and hisoricals. Am buying infinity models, making armies etc and I have no where to play, and no one to play with. Still buying more stuff, don't even know why.
Bentley Cooper
I find them effective in USARF due to abundance of FO's.
Joshua Nelson
Newfag here! I am trying to build 200 point nomad army from basic nomad starter? Any suggestions what should I get?
