being balding and awkward doesn't make for an appealing channel host so you can imagen when i see the types that dont make eye contact with their hands in their pockets I tune out. Never finished an Ep of Beasts of War mainly cause of the awkwardness and accents. Guy on left can talk for 20 minutes yet say nothing. A channel called Wargamer Girl falls into the awkwardness category but is watchable when you do skip those bits. At the moment i'm trying to convince myself to get into 40k/ warmachine. But i keep running into these type of channel hosts. Example.

People trying to do this shit for a living are the worst. Often it's not even like they have any more experience or knowledge than other people putting this stuff up for free on hobby or painting forums either. Yet people still get suckered in by their personas and release schedules which often seem to affect their output.

TTM isn't that bad for background noise while I paint but you're right in saying he fucking drones on a bit. It's nice to have a non autistic war game related channel though and some of the videos I stumbled upon like the wet pallete one helped me improve my painting a bit.

I stop by every few weeks to see if he's released anything interesting and I really don't get why it upsets you so much user, just remove his channel from your YouTube recommendations, no ones forcing you to watch his boring content, just skip to the good stuff he sometimes puts out.

Only truly interesting 40k channel imo that I found and keep returning to is glacial geek. He has by faaaar the best battle reports, aside from them he makes a podcast every once in a while.

I'm a fan of LukesAps, I've actually learned a lot from him, especially about terrain and money saving alternatives, even though I've been doing this for years.
Ian Wyatt is also a really good watch for ork players.

Why do you need youtube for this? Do your decisions rest solely on what internet people you'll never meet tell you to do? Can you not skip past the "awkward bits" like you say you can with the girls-only channel? Are you unable to look past personality and focus on game mechanic?

Love the lore and DOW. Would love to collect the mini's but just cant justify spending 50 dollars on 10 toy soldiers. The nearest place to play it is about an hours trip from me so traveling to watch live games to judge is a long slog for something so small. I decide on nothing I just would like feedback from experienced hobbyists who preferably are not anti social quick to anger autistics with a patchy male pattern baldness setting in. If 90% of a video is awkward I abandon it cause whats the point in wasting that much time. Game mechanics mean nothing if the person introducing it is unlikable/anti social, it makes the game look unappealing and i don't think it's asking too much to listen to someone who has seen a shower. GW has a great product but it depends on how good the sellers are.

Having said that, atomsmasher used to be pretty on point (wet pallet episode p.e.) but it feels like he's trying too hard to get noticed by GW senpai (he even hinted at that on a podcast/live shows).
Beast of War guys can fuck right off though, they are literally incapable of reviewing a single product, every single miniature is fantastic, every boardgame is a spiel awards contender and every ruleset is the greatest thing ever.

Honestly Ash is by far the best dude ive seen far as wargaming related stuff goes, literally the only thing bad about him is that he has some real fucking wild ideas about life at times, but it doesn't bleed into the vids proper, so who fucking cares.

Just watch his vlogs over his channel, he usually says one bizzare thing per video. I mean I don't want to go start digging dirt for no reason but one other thing that comes to mind is when out of the blue he started talking about a book of some retired street fighter pro, I think, and quoting it like it was the word of the prophet or something. The whole comparison of WAAC being the same thing as playing to win in a fighter game while quoting a dude who played it FOR MONEY seemed extremely streched and going against his "just play with your mates in your basement" mentality, which i think he professed in the same video.
If you really care both of those were in~ 2 to 5th last vlog vids, just go watch em and make your own opinion as I might be misremembering a little.

Also, Daigo isn't retired, he just doesn't regularly win tournaments anymore.
