Xenos: small tyranid detatchment...

I have 5/7 shelves full of fucking marines and spiky-marines

Please send help

lol this sounds like manipulated greentext

Am I wrong in thinking the Fury of Deimos is the best Grey Knights artifact? Seems very strong if a little boring.

Failing that I imagine the hammer on a Grand Master.

That "leaker" earlier. Sure the Ork looted vehicle rule, melee suits, and nid blinding spore were likely straight BS.
But damn if I don't want to believe in it hard.

Making my kommandos use desert camo.
Blood Axes use desert camo right?

How are orks doing in 8th? I heard they were supposedly doing better, but in all of the youtube games I've watched they are still getting shot off the table pretty fucking quickly.

I've wanted to start making an ork army for ages, but they always seem to suck.

Literally and unironically the best book to come out of Black Library to date.

>from New York Times bestselling author
>long awaited sequel
ADB haters BTFO

Tyranids.
Amidoingitright?

Hey guys, what's going on in this thread?

Custom Kabal+Cult
Order of Our Martyred Lady
Storm Lords

yes

Nice try ADB.

Orks got a huge fix for the index, but they're still squishy 6+ boyz that only move 5 inches.

But so far on the small games I've played, my Orks always win. But with the codexes out, it makes a severe power gap when you can use special stratagems or relics.

Not really.

Looks fuckin great user
Halved schemes and painting white are bitches to get right like that

drop pods can fit 10 marines or a dread but god forbid a squad of 5 primaris want a quick ride to the surface and all hell breaks loose. Fuck GW their dumbass logic

>Small Tyranids
>Medium sized Tyranids
>Big Tyranids

Because marines are strapped in, and dreads are so heavy they don't move around.
Just chucking a bunch of primaris marines in there without a harness would leave you with scrambled marines at the bottom.

And gameplay wise, having your tougher marines be less mobile is a trade off you make.

I'm sure eventually there will be a primaris drop pod with ten guns on it.

Is there a good 40k podcast that focuses on competitive gaming?

It'll probably make that FW chaos mega drop pod look like utter trash for half the cost.

>termies can deep strike and ride in landraiders

Its just setting the stage for future jewing and money snatching and thats all

Like in

>dreads are so heavy they don't move around
holy fuck is that not how physics works lol

>putting a dreadnought in a marine only drop pod

stop living in the past sempai

Who else here is hoping for new sets of canticles for Admech depending on your Forgeworld?

Anything but the reroll 1's when damaging buildings bullshit.

Does anyone have that part of 8th edition which mentions the Squats?

Thoughts on this list?

Yeah, of course. Sometimes they even use it in the desert.

Yeah, because they are close range units, and useless at long range, while primaris aren't
And they get their own pseudo landraider.

Cuirass of sacrifice is always a safe bet

>Marinelets

I see you haven't taken note in the latest advances in scale creep.

sideshowtoy.com/collectibles/warhammer-40-000-dawn-of-war-iii-gabriel-angelos-prime-1-studio-9031651/

Orks always got shot off tge table, that's the point. You pay 6 points for a t4 wound with fearless. It's brutal in lower point games, but once you go above 1500 everyone has enough heavy artillery to deal with your dudes.

I always bring 2 battlewagons to get them stuck in. Plus Deffrollas are orky as fuck.

Sorc on disc wip

Pls rate my 2000 DE list.

GABE HAS SUCH A FUCKING SHIT DESIGN

WHY DO THEY KEEP FORCING HIM ON US WHEN HE MAKES A FUCKIN OGRYN LOOK LIKE A GRACEFUL ELDAR

I SERIOUSLY HOPE NO ONE PURCHASES THAT ABOMINATION

>it makes a severe power gap when you can use special stratagems or relics
Couldn't you ban relics?
And for stratagems, I was thinking each player picks 3 (or more, if the mission offers stratagems as well) he can use before the game. Non-Marines/Chaos/GreyKnights/Nurgle get the generic ones in the rulebook, other armies may pick three from their list.

I think having access to 2 pages of stratagems slows the game down a bit much anyway.

Pony up your 1.5 grand, user. GW demands.

Are you saying desert camo isn't good in other places?!

This feels like fucking todd posting on /v/

3/10

So you can get a specialised dread pod but taking the fucking baby seats out of the car is too far?

Nothing mentions them.

Make it crazy with rolled for stratagems

Rate my camo

Not fully done yet, just base coated

Has anyone tried making Primaris Scaled Termies from Gravis armour? I'm thinking about making some bigger Cataphractii because Cataphractii are pure sex, but having simple Intercessors tower over them is kinda shitty.

it mentions them in the Imperium 2 index

Why is that one Imperial fist in the back (over the apothecary's shoulder) just sitting there chilling?

He is checking out his battle-brother's sweet ass.

yes, now file a complaint with the toaster fuckers

...

That a picture of imperial fists not dark angels man

Also the Stug looking things are a Leman Russ conversion using chimera & Russ parts.

Was meant for

Shroudpsalm gets replaced by -1 to hit at over 12" away......woo
Nah for real I'm excited about it, hopefully get a few cool effects

>not using devastators nor scout squads
noob

He's one of the "le spess muhrines are le GAY :DDD" NPCfags.

>no felinids

Try using spacers.

what are spacers?

Looking to get into the game with Thousand Sons and am intensely confused about the Index/Codex set up because I'm a moron.

Can I use Rubric's as Troops?

Is mini smite a trap?

Can I put a Soulreaper on a squad of Rubrics that's one Aspiring Sorceror and 4 Rubrics?

Is there an Exalted Sorcerer in Terminator Armor option?

What are obvious stupid pitfalls to avoid with these guys?

Try berserker champs with dual lightning claws. shit is horrifically murderous since you can almost always have them take wounds last nowadays.

Not sure if the 40k general is the right place to discuss BL books but I have a question about the Thousand Sons and Rubric Marines after reading the Ahriman trilogy. Without spoilers involved its revealed that the Rubric of Ahriman effects all Thousand Son marines throughout space/time. This also includes dead TSons.

So my question is is this an explanation for the numbers of Rubric marines that show up in the lore as opposed to the number of TSon who survived the Horus Heresy? If all TSons were effected do they simply summon the dead TSons in suits of armour like a daemon if they need more Rubric marines?

I have some Scout Bikers. But I guess I wasn't really counting scouts. As for Devs, I don't play Ultras. I'd much rather run Predators and other vehicles for anti-tank.

That looks amazing, user. I wish I had the skills to paint like that.

And people say GeeDubs can't do good female faces.

Far from it! As long as the oomies see a desert, they ain't seein' da boyz!

A few of my boyz have desert camo, though to keep later squads different later, schemes got a bit more flashy. Got some Blue/Orange Tankbusters in the works now.

It's obvious that Primaris won't have the same level of flexibility as regular Marines to offset their strengths. Part of that is not having access to the same transports.

>Admech Codex announced
>only other army that was as broken as mine
>mfw no Codex till next year...

Yeah they absolutely cant.

More than half of your questions of your questions are answered by just reading the index/codex. Chill for a sec, and reread it.

What does the datasheet for rubric marines say about their equipment and switching of? Easy question yo. Same for exalted sorceror in terminator armor.

Minismite isn't really good, no. It's a something though, that can occasionally get extra value out of your sorcs though.

Obvious stupid pitfalls of note are subjective really. Exalkted sorcs are somewhat expensive, regular sorcerors get 2 spells a round and are cheap. Consider a mix of both, but I wouldn't run too many exalted sorcs.

Warpflame bolters are pretty sweet at being able to damage almost anything fairly well now. It's very powerful infantry shooting, even without any extra guns. 10 dudes in a rhino can jump out and put a strong hurting on any unit they shoot at if in close range. Tzaangors are sweet melee dudes, and aren't half bad at it. Scarab termies are expensive as hell. Pretty cool though.

Will Chaos win this week?

nope

Gonna copy paste from the end of last thread
For a Gravis Captain, pick one:
Relic Blade or the Axe of Medusa?

Hell, which relics are good anyways?

I've been a Xenosfag who's dabbled a little in Chaos my whole time playing 40K (only a couple years). I've been strongly tempted over the past few months to pick up an Imperium army. How do they all play, and how much room for Your Dudes is there?

Fuck I love stugs

No

they already have alot less flexibility than most other units, they dont have the special or heavy weapon options or even the sergent options that you get from regular tactical squads

I'm trying to put together a list for a super point-restricted Kill Team game (basically Inq28) and I'm having a little trouble deciding on how to do up my Inquisitor's Acolytes.

I could, with the points I have after characters, special weapons, and the Inquisitor leader, have around 5-6 basic troopers to act as bodies on the field that can just pump dakka. However, I'm torn between two options:
> x5 Inquisition Acolyte (8) w/ Storm Bolter (2)
-or-
> x5 Tempestus Scions (9) w/ Hot-Shot Lasgun (1)

Also note their abilities: Inquisition Acolytes can act as ablative wounds for the Inquisitor and get rerolls to hunting the Inquisitor's favored prey, but Scions have better armor and aim.

Yes. Favourite tank also. I want one for 40k. May build one if they release Steel Legion.

Why are these still a thing?

Which is funny because it forces people to take the most points efficient options rather than take a bunch of dumb shit on their captains and sergeants

Why not both?

It's been surprisingly back and forth though I'm curious as to why it's suddenly not utterly one sided.

Was the Chaos codex all that was needed to make the campaign more even? Or is it the mission this week? Do all of the new people jumping into 40k on the Primaris bandwagon have no idea how to play objectives? Did a large number of Imperial players just suddenly get bored? Or did a large number of Xenos players suddenly decide to support Chaos for shits and giggles?

Slowly painting my first army. These guys are about half done. Any suggestions?

Dubs picks the direction I take my Deldar
Haemonculus Coven, Wych Coven or Kabal

Bits from Vect's decades old Dias of Destruction. The girly bits sell so well they outlived the original model.

I secretly like those those worn-out sex slaves. Vects old favorites. Look at the expression on the left one; a spaced out, haggard jadedness that I've seen on certain porn stars and friends moms.

washes

>Necron tears
everyone keeps sobbing about their army

You heard the man. 'Decades old' and Original model'. Time to scour for old dark eldar models!

So far, the codexes have largely been in line with the indexes, hardly presenting any new options. They haven't added much beyond some uninteresting chapter tactics and wargear.

Will this trend continue?

yeah but it removes the options to have wound soaks for special weapons that regular marines can do which i guess with 2 wounds a models would make special weapons alot more resilient

apply a shade, re colour them and then apply highlights will give your models depth

Because I don't like mixing and matching as much. I suppose I could run three Scions and two Acolytes (or vice-versa) but there's a pleasing aesthetic to a team that's both uniform in look and rules.

Still, I could shieldwall with some scions and keep my Acolytes back as longer-ranged guns/bullet-hoses/Inquisitorial ablative armor, I've got a third I'm giving a special weapon so they'd be three for three team-wise.

That leaves Inquisitor and its Astropath friend to play behind their lines dumping buffs, plasma, and smite when needed.

>Tally"fudge the numbers"man appears
>sudden chaos surge

what kind of washes? I haven't watched enough duncan yet

damn, I would rather have one of that
current DE vehicles seem a bit too messy for me
