A disposable hexamine stove from an Akitonian war-charity drive.

yay for non shill thread.
i was saving this gif to be the image of the nee thread but someone else made it first. so here it is. its a cute android.

anyway, are there any characters in starfinder that use pistols? pistols seem super weak. seems like almost every character shoudl pick up longarms.

Gotta go with the non-anime thread if only to trigger the hyper autists.

im pretty sure its one guy with severe mental issues that just shitposts PFG and SFG as his primary hobby

>What personal touches does your character like to bring to his equipment?
i want to make bayonets for my laser rifles. laser bayonets would be really cool IMO

>im pretty sure its one guy with severe mental issues that just shitposts PFG and SFG as his primary hobby
As long as we have somebody who actually updates the pastebin instead of ignoring it in favour of rushing to be FIRST FOR ANIME I'm happy.

How do sex change serums affect drow culture?

males are probably forced to be males for breeding stock

everyone else are females

operatives are OP and they use pistols. a dedicated spellcaster mystic would probably use pistols, no need for longarm prof if you're not a shooter.

why are operatives OP?
i havent looked at them yet.
im hearing that the claims of OPness are vastly overblown

>What personal touches does your character like to bring to his equipment?
I dunno. I hadn't thought of it. What would some good touches for a He-Man-esque champion of light Solarian possibly adorn himself with?

>males are probably forced to be males for breeding stock
or anyone who sufficiently fucks up probably gets serumed into a male

The shadows of his enemies.

So much custom neon, user.

i made a thing

It only works on the willing.

Although I suppose the drow coulda made a version that works on unwilling

Where are the hoverdrone curves on the left-side graphs for levels 3 and 6?

overlap with the mechanic, they are the same

I thought that might have been the case, thanks for the answer.

ill prolly do more classes and builds eventually.
kinda fun to compare. any requests?

I'd love to see just how much the operative falls short of its original hype

k tell me the OP operative build and ill put it in the graph

What are the stats for the soldier? Doesn't look like 18 in dex

soldier is using full attack with the sharpshooter style

...

At level 3 do the mechanic and hover drone not have weapon spec? I think it would be better than weapon focus

Don't really have a specific build in mind, just referencing everybody losing their minds over how the operative was going to outfight ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING.

asdfasdf

they all get weapon focus at lvl1
weapon spec at lvl 3

melee soldier, with melee damage trick

oh, last time you posted this the mechanic got it at 5 at least, at 3 it looks like they're doing 3.5 avg damage at 95% accuracy

energy weapons vs kinetic weapons
with full bab and half bab, heavy and longarm

you are... correct... i fucked up somewhere.... hold on

Reading through the nightclub sequence in Incident at Absalom Station is completely puzzling. How is it that a sci-fi nightclub has worse security protocols than even real-world, seedy clubs? There are no mentions of security cameras anywhere, let alone anyone keeping track of security feeds or keeping in contact with the bouncers. Furthermore, as per page 16, if one of the bar staff considers the PCs to be a nuisance, they have to manually leave the bar, cross the main nightclub area, cross a storeroom, and only then talk to the boss in a back office; one would think they would just use telecommunications given that hassle.

Why is security so terrible? Did they just want to give 1st-level PCs a chance even under the most boneheaded, "kill the bouncers at the entrance, then move in and kill the guards inside" plan?

yeah you were right, i forgot to actually add the dmge bonus from weapon spec to the hover drone at lvl 3. the mechanic cant get weapon spec till 5 because he needed a feat for longarm prof. oh wow, weapon spec doesnt require weapon focus... i did not see that. good catch. so this contains the weapon dmge from spec ont he hover drone, and no weapon focus on the mechanic, but yes weapon spec

Probably.

Does this involve Exocortexes at all?

Nope it's all drone mechanics.

Getting the impression that alot of Starfinder is more about the image of what is cool/fun, rather than any logical thought put into it. Games run from that perspective will probably be more successful.

>Exocortexes

Is loaded gun to the head willing?

how about mind controlled?

I don't believe so, no.

Exocortices

are bad and you should not use them ever

ok heres the corrected version
thnx for checking my work, anons

anime autist's thread is dead and gone cuz no one posted in it. we have successfully defeated the tyranny of the anime autist tranny.

tranny tyranny is not healthy for anyone

My CRB arrived today and Amazon notified me that Incident at Absalom Station is expected to ship anywhere from September 13th-October 3rd.

Anyone know when any of the release dates are? I ordered CRB, GM screen, basic terrain flip mat, Dead Suns pt1, and part 2 all at the same time because I figured they'd all be released around the same time.

You know, at the expense of being a killjoy, doesn't that mean the autism will immediately travel to this thread? I know well the power of weeaboo, and it's not so easily thwarted.

Anti-anime attitudes on Veeky Forums are retarded desu. What do you think this site was founded for?

The anime simply lurks and watches...
waiting for the optimal time to strike.
The anime will come... oh yes, it will come....

You got me curious so I found a link to the thing.
Holy fucking wow this book is useless.

Kobolds, apparently native to an entirely different solar system!
Grippli? Not from around here!
Dhampir, Catfolk, Nagaji, Vanara, Tengu, you get the idea? All conveniently native to not-Golarion!

Okay, so,, evne if we ignore the injected fluff, lets look at stats... Aasimar still have energy resistance? Did they not take a hint from Androids that some things needed to change in translation?
Catfolk DON'T have Scent? The literal only non-waifu reason to play one?

Alright, maybe the classes suck less ass.
Cleric forgot to pick a deity
Bard forgot to tone down Inspire Courage
lolmagus
Paladin forgot to pick a god and also forgot the same lesson from Androids, disease matters now and shouldn't cured so easily
Ranger apparently values a pet as highly as... the fuck, they brought dirty trick combat maneuvers in too?
Not even gonna bother looking at Wizard or the rest of this, I need more kerosene for my eyeballs.

Are catfolks still furries in this?

>Are catfolks still furries in this?
Only if you sexualize them. But if you mean "Are they anthropomorphic cat people?" then probably yeah.

Out of unfortunately not innocent curiosity, what DO catfolk have in Starfinder? Are they straight ports from PF?

RACIAL TRAITS
+2 Dex, +2 Cha, –2 Wis
4 Hit Points
Catfolk are humanoids with the catfolk subtype and
are Medium. They have a base speed of 30 feet.
Cat’s Luck (Ex): Catfolk gain a +2 racial bonus on Reflex
saves. In addition, catfolk can choose to roll their saving
throw twice when making a Reflex save and use the better
result. Catfolk can use this ability once per day. They must
decide to use this ability before the saving throw is tried.
Low-Light Vision: Catfolk can see in dim light as if it were
normal light. For more details, see the low-light vision
section in Chapter 8 in the Starfinder Core Rulebook.
Natural Hunter: Catfolk gain a +2 racial bonus on
Perception, Stealth, and Survival checks.
Sprinter: Catfolk gain a 10-foot racial bonus to their
base walking and running speed when using the
charge, run, or withdraw actions.

Keep in mind the vomit is 3rd party, and as such, easiliy ignorable.

>Still no racial variant stats
Why is life designed to be suffering?

>Original Pathfinder
>City of Absalom is ruled by a clear nod to Gary Gygax
>Starfinder
>Absalom Station is ruled by a random progressive Hispanic womyn, because reasons
Yeah, this was worth a download.

>It's festering pit of inequality and suffering on the underside while the rich and powerful live in comfort up above

Yeah sounds pretty hispanic to me

Ex-fucking-scuse me, that's not accurate at all.
Hispanics don't exist in PF or SF, they're probably Qadiran.

Is there something that makes Sidestep more useful than I think it is, or is it just kinda bleh? Trying to figure out what kind of feats I want for my Operative and not coming up with many good ones.

>Shot on the Run
>Spring Attack
You now have an option when you need to move and shoot/stab on the same turn, but don't want to get murdered for it.

>Nimble Move
You now don't get ass-blasted by terrain when you want to move.

>Improved Initiative
Boring but always effective.

>Weapon Focus
Also boring, also effective.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was figuring. Shit's surprisingly rough if you're a Human and want to spend all those feats on things that aren't boring.

daily reminder that otters should be everyone's headcanon replacement for ysoki

what about toughness user?
toughness is fun!

It skulks around in the shadows watching me.
It's waiting.
It tortures me by waiting.

Now let's talk about cover. I can't seem to find any rules regarding destroying cover by attempting to shoot someone behind it, or I'm retarded. Would a fair houserule involve a miss that would have hit if it weren't for the cover's bonus instead apply damage to said cover?

thats what i would do
miss by less than the cover bonus and you do dmdge to the cover. but objects in this game have lots and lots of HP and DR

How do vehicles work with saving throws? I mean, yeah, if a rider is targeted, they'll use their saves, but what if it's a vehicle that gives the riders full cover, like a futuristic armored car, and a grenade hits the center of the vehicle?

I assume the vehicle automatically fails the reflex save and the people inside don't have to take one.

From what I remember without cracking the book open, vehicles count as immobile targets if you attack them from the outside with character-grade weaponry. You still have to breach the shield AC, but after that you're just hitting the material that makes up the hull. How that works versus saves, I don't know.

Otters are super cool but I'd rather yaoi not be based on any Earth animal. If they had to at least be something that combines features from many different species

Yeah, Earth animals can be gay enough on their own, and that's not even touching the fandm.

Taldan/Shoanti hybrids could totally exist in the future, and they'd be sexy as fuck

Would the be bald and bearded?

Bald is a cultural thing that would probably change due to Taldan influence

>Bald is a cultural thing
wut

Shoanti aren't naturally bald, they shave.

Taldan people aren't pro-beard anymore.

Has anyone already begun using SF for a non-Golarionverse setting? If not actually playing, then planning for one? Tell me about it!

>a padlock costs more than a spacesuit
Oh, okay

That's why I seal doors shut by tying a spacesuit around the handle.

Padlocks aren't costed, user.

no, the setting in sf is the best part. its actually really well done so far

That's because their homelands are constantly on fire.

When the men are looking for a wife they prove how manly they are by not shaving and growing their hair our, despite it being an actual fire hazard.

Didn't bad-taste user say they were leaving?

Yeah, made a big bitch fit about it a few threads back too although seeing the image of Tigerr Benson did make me have to look up pornhub afterwards, the bastard.

What mostly forgotten franchises are you planning to subtly rip off for your homebrew SF setting?

Chronicles of Riddick. The Elementals would make perfect Mystics

Battlestar Galactica. The original.

Definitely some of the intrigue of mid-run DS9. Been re-watching the show and it's good for some space station antics.

Mostly firefly with a smattering of outlaw star.

Maybe somebody should make a list of inspiration franchises/games and add it to the pastebin or w/e? Not me - not enough knowledge.

Trigun. There's gotta be more than one dead-end space-cowboy world out there.
They jump, they lose their drift drive, they do their best with what their shitty planet has to offer.

Everyone's going Trigun, Gurren Lagen or Macross.

What are the rules for mechas so big they can toss galaxies as shuriken?

When you reach that size, you reset everything to Medium and just treat galaxies as tiny objects.

Starship troopers

Is there really only one book currently? There's hardly any feats. Are there any homebrew/3pp ones? Do Pathfinder feats convert over at all?

Pickings are pretty slim right now and Paizo's release schedule is looking pretty slow. We're left waiting until October for a bestiary. Pathfinder feats don't convert over since the systems aren't one-to-one compatible.

Fuck. Alright, then I've got a question.

If you're familiar with Warframe, you'll remember the Daikyu bow. If you aren't familiar with Warframe, it's a fucking massive bow that basically fires steel rods at people. It hits thing so hard that when they die, they go hurtling into walls.

Some kind user in the other thread already posted up some homebrewed Bow stats: i.4cdn.org/tg/1503710332797.pdf

But will this be all that I need to recreate something like that? I'm 100% new to Starfinder, but I've got a good bit of PF and other D&D experience. Any help would be massively appreciated.

The CRB actually has one in the back.

Starfinder is basically Outlaw Star the game. You even got rules for somebody who wants to play a classic samurai in the middle of fucking space.
