>The photo of the Warhammer model blurred out like Japanese porn
Okay, I am amused.
Asher Sanders
I've found a friend for Tomahawk-chan!
Robert Thompson
Forget the Sheliak handegg game, this has got to be the greatest Trial of Possession ever.
Connor Garcia
Tomachan seems like an oneesama type. The "ara ara ufufu" type, especially.
Hudson Jackson
>mfw I thought that she had a loin cloth on but then I saw the dress It was a sad time. Loin cloths on women are the tits.
Noah Rodriguez
>exactly why has BT been ignored for tge prons? Uh, I know of at least two folks on Tumblr doing BT porn (Andava did several commissions, mostly Clan-related), and one of the local drawfags has also done a pinup of Rebecca from the JP novels.
There is one answer, that answer is Thud.
Ah, them cockpits. Still not convinced anyone actually bought Zone of the Enders as anything >but< a way to get the MGS2 demo.
Thomas Cooper
No she's just a fucking idiot
Zachary Cox
>Still not convinced anyone actually bought Zone of the Enders as anything >but< a way to get the MGS2 demo.
Didn't matter one bit since they all bought the second one even without MGS2 attached.
Also, there's plenty of pony BT prons by one very dedicated furry.
I take it you know the 2hu character she's supposed to be?
Kayden Hernandez
Another random campaign build... This time seeing if I can fit a gauss rifle onto a helicopter. Good news, I can. Bad news, it loses most of its speed. Working on the refit at the moment, will report back on how functional it is.
Asher Stewart
Ever hear of the Yellow Jacket?
William Allen
...
Caleb Moore
Nope, literally just played a 3044 campaign for a couple weeks. Is the yellow Jacket basically this?
Austin James
So up the armor by switching to the common FCE. Using Ferro, you're gaining 6 whole points of armor over it.
Yep.
Cameron Lopez
>Thud The Thud is solid, and I will always use it, and be happy that it was invented by the Cappies, but it's not my favorite user, sorry. More power to you though; it's a good choice and you won't get any flak from me about it.
It's basically a Yellow Jacket.
Reposting my Merlin Omni from last thread because I like it even though nobody cares. I suppose we could make a challenge/topic out of it though; what 'Mech do you think should have been made into an Omni that wasn't? Or maybe a IIC model, like I pointed out would actually be more likely for the Merlin here in my last post. Justify it by saying it's a Dark Age thing or something; Clans retrofitting IS machines with Clan tech as their version of Retrotech/MODs (something they did anyway, but maybe some people don't know that).
Show me whatcha got.
Xavier Allen
Hell, there's a Yellow Jacket with an Arrow missile launcher on it. You can have some real fun then! You can find these things in MegaMekLab.
Caleb Russell
welp, so, MegaMek HQ purchase unit only shows stuff available at the time.
is there a VTOL with a standard engine and a PPC? That was another thing I wanted to build.
Matthew Smith
This maybe?
Camden Johnson
>what 'Mech do you think should have been made into an Omni that wasn't
The Marauder. It's a timeless classic.
Parker Brooks
There's one with a Large Laser; the Cyrano. I swear there is one but I might be mistaken. I know there's an SLDF hovercraft that has one. It's basically a PPC Saracen.
Samuel Brown
so basically I was trying to build stuff to early. Looking at the VTOL stuff from 3044 and before I didn't see anything useful.
Tyler Roberts
I agree with you. Now make one!
Also going to inb4 Thud because it's totally obvious too. Should have been the first Cappie Omni, honestly.
Easton Lewis
>I agree with you. Now make one! I got this far before realizing I was going to just make the -5S for the Prime, and had to stop.
Jace Allen
You could technically strip a Warrior and put LRMs or a PPC on it.
Ayden Adams
I always thought the Archer and Warhammer made solid sense as 1st gen omni candidates, with big torso weapons bays that'd be easy to Omni-fy, and the archer canonically is known for being able to successfully be fitting with just about every possible arrangement of gear they could be stuffed into the chassis, and it that's not what you want in an omni I don't know what is
Jacob Brooks
>I always thought the Archer and Warhammer made solid sense as 1st gen omni candidates
Isn't that quite literally what Vulture and one of the two between Thor and Loki are?
Isaac Gutierrez
I think he meant IS-Omnis
Jonathan Morris
Oh! So she's unyuu. Well shit. The art quality was so shoddy I thought the third eye was just a very fucked up ascot.
Blake Rodriguez
Sure, but I was talking IS omnis.
Also, an omni-Atlas as the biggest, baddest IS omni feels like it would make sense
Adrian Davis
Hauptmann?
Andrew Howard
...is there more art like this or was it a one off?
Andrew Hernandez
Blue Gunner pretty much scraped everything he could a while back off of Pixiv that he could make out. It's not all tagged yet though. There might be something on the booru. Otherwise, check pixiv.
Gavin Butler
I checked that guy's pixiv back when the thread was made but I felt quite uneasy going through that guy's stuff to check if he ever made the other ones as well.
Grayson Perry
A while ago I put together a set of deliberately somewhat mediocre 'second rate' Omni's by smaller manufacturers, which were all conversions of existing and mostly common mechs. I'll see if I can find them but IIRC the list was >Hunchback >Shadow Hawk >Marshal >Catapult >Archer >Stalker
Jason Sullivan
Back from the mission and that is his sole Macross tag so it was most likely a one-off. Didn't respond to people asking for Monster, either.
Ryder Flores
>Also, there's plenty of pony BT prons by one very dedicated furry.
Well, at least I got some redesigns out of it. As in Japanese redesigning the BT original Nue designs to fit their MW campaigns.
Juan Hall
...
Caleb Myers
...
Benjamin Russell
this Captain_06? Looks like his linework, but much more refined than the last time I hit his page up.
Bentley Cruz
Nope, that's someone else.
Captain 06 is completely engulfed in Btech, this guy split it between it and MuvLuv (which is where he got most of the added aesthetics from). But yes, he's great with the pencil. There's a few more custom designs on his page, but they're, well, customs and thus not as interesting.
Connor Morales
We need more cute anime girls in the MW gear.
Henry Clark
So it's either an Aero phenotype who decided to be a mech pilot, or someone who's shit at art. Or both!
Jace Reyes
Leaning towards shit at art.
Sebastian Howard
Which Mechwarrior game was this in, again?
Aiden Kelly
And then there's this.
Henry Thomas
And the Atlas, which has been posted here already back then.
Oliver Reyes
Did they get some sort of manga-ish stuff done for the DA game? Because I haven't seen these before but the site seems to be more akin to portfolio, rather than fan art.
Parker Taylor
Might as well dump them. Feel free to ID the machines. Atlas is legendary bad, Hatchetman was easy, but the others I have no idea what they are.
Brandon Bailey
I still prefer the Hunchtan.
Nolan Richardson
...
Kevin Reyes
L-R: BA of some sort, Dumper mech, Spider, JES II.
Robert Wood
This is DA Spider?
I prefer Rifletan, she's just so sweet, overheating like that.
Juan Mitchell
Purifier BAs?
Jace Allen
No, they've got to be Clan Medium BA. Purifiers were pretty much WoB only.
Logan Ortiz
Arbalest and Spider.
Aiden Price
I'm going off of what's the picture called.
Also, this guy later worked on SRW. So WizKids actually did pay an artist more than a bag of potatoes.
Gavin White
Everybody and their dog has Purifiers in the DA. They're just dumbtech ones without the camo.
You're right about them being Clan BA though. The head design also shows it's from the original DA material as the googly eyes were removed in the TRO version.
Logan Torres
All the official DA promo art is terrible CGI. Guy must have been a Battletech fan. That stuff ain't official.
Mason Martinez
I could catch a glimpse of "HobbyJapan". Maybe he made some front covers for a hobbyist magazine or something? I dunno, but the pictures only lead back to his portfolio. Maybe we can get someone with better nip to explain it as I'm off to sleep.
Tyler Jones
cute!
CUTE!
Blake Perez
Heh, I bought ZOE and never played the MGS2 demo. If it was for PS 1 or 2 and had giant robutts, I bought it.
Gabriel Bennett
The Mad Cat is the omni-Marauder. Unless you meant an IS omni version, in which case I would totally field that.
Wyatt King
Cool, but what's his pixiv handle? I keep tabs on most of the BT artists over there and it would be nice to add him to the list.
Take your pleb bullshit over to the drawing crit boards.
Charles Howard
Or just keep Deviantart-tier shit out of /btg/.
Jaxon Morales
>nova cucks
Julian Gonzalez
Ara ara?
Liam Ramirez
What's this nigger's deal?
Jayden Collins
Furries have to invade every other fandom and insert themselves. I've seen tons of furry in BattleTech, Shadowrun, Fallout, even stuff like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Don't understand the reason why.
Benjamin Robinson
So word from GenCon is that ilClan has again been put on the backburner due to formatting issues and probably won't be out until some time (late?) next year.
Wyatt Nguyen
Brent said he felt it was a bit dry and so, since it was such a major event, he wanted it reworked a bit to be more exciting. He also said by Gencon next year we'd be "well into the IlClan era", whatever that means, except that it probably that the book itself will be out before the con.
Brayden Wood
Say what you will about DA, but the Spider redesign looked way better than the CBT one.
Thomas Hall
So the old Battletech Rules Of War had the sorted-by-weight random tables. The Lyrans got a general +1 on those tables for their love of using heavier machines, since the highest results were assaults and the lowest lights.
Nowadays the generation tables are a lot more random, and use different sets, so a +1 wouldn't work. What do you guys do to figure a typical Lyran unit in size? I'm thinking in regiments, say if I wanted to detail one that doesn't have any info in the fluff/novels for its composition.
Dominic Cooper
Yeah but we've been hearing "ilClan any time now" for what, like five years at this point?
CGL don't seem as though they could find their arses with both hands and a detailed map so I would be more likely to ascribe this to them not having done the work and scrambling for a palatable excuse, or shitting themselves at the thought of doing something conclusive for a change and finding a way to weasel out of releasing it yet again.
Brandon Ramirez
In this case, I remember the OF and some folks I know stating that ilClan was 'mostly done' but when the new heads took over they wanted to take the line a different direction, like how the previous linedev did over the Jihad.
Ryder Roberts
If Davions = Arby's then which faction is Wendy's?
Leo Gutierrez
CGL needs to shit or get off the pot with a lot of things, ilClan especially.
Constant push-backs have cost them a lot of time, money, and good will.
I will say it would legit not surprise me if ilClan as it stands now is shit due simply to the game having been rudderless at the dev level for so long, but even in saying that they should have fixed that a long time ago any way.
Sebastian White
Nothing wrong with that. Prime configs on Omnis that used to be standard chassis should be the common practice.
Archer I totally agree with you, especially given its numbers. There were so many and it took to being modified so well that it not being a candidate for IS Omni-fication was really strange. I guess it was because of the HG crap the first time around, most likely. They knew that if they did an Archer O with no Macross art they'd catch a bucketload of shit for it.
I agree with the Hunchie (FWL Omni), Shad (Davion Omni), and Archer (see above). The Stalker is a pretty good selection too. Not too sure about the Marshall; I dunno how many people really cared about it and it was basically just another 55 ton Trio 'Mech, really, if you ignore the 4/6 move. I really can't see the Catapult; it's iconic, but rare, and honestly for the Cappies, the Thud makes a more sensible platform for experimentation.
I gave the Is Omni MAD a whirl. Go ahead and critique away. I made it Civil War era because that sounded like a good time and I felt that it was a good candidate for an LFE.
Zachary Scott
>Nothing wrong with that. Prime configs on Omnis that used to be standard chassis should be the common practice. Yeah but because I liked the 10 heat guns idea, the LPLs were gonna be fixed. That's also why I needed to stop. Clan LPLs everywhere is a bad habit to get into.
Thomas Hernandez
>fixed dual CLPLs Okay yeah that'd be funky. The idea of an Omni MAD with two big fixed guns and its only real 'pods' being the dorsal mount and the lower arm mounts kinda feels like a stopgap design, really. Though the Clan tech would really ruin that image and feel kinda off. I like Omnis with fixed gear for the IS because it feels like the sort of interim solution they'd cook up to make them cheaper and more efficient to produce.
Xavier Garcia
The fluff was that it was produced as part of a deal to subsidize ExoStar while they made the Pinnacle lasers and sold them cheaply to the AFFS to stave off the Caps. Meanwhile, the GM plant on New Valencia would crank out these and ExoStar would get a third of the profits. The production run would be short as GM would realize they're losing money due to those same fixed weapons. It mostly exists so my players could get the Clantech bug in the DA only to have it cruelly ripped away without paying Clan Space Jew.
Asher Foster
That is what I did. Stripped it out for 4 LRM5s and 2 tons ammo.
Alexander Bell
Nice. Kind of like a BT Apache without a chain gun.
Brandon Flores
An omni Stalker would be fantastic.
Gavin Allen
>Edge.
Gabriel Campbell
Wendy's is Davion, too.
I chose Arby's because I didn't want to choose something too obvious, like McDonalds, but is still absolute shit for you.
Eli Martinez
Probably FWL. Or Taurian.
Eli Parker
Do mercenary companies (Imagine a small to mid-size one) generally have their own jumpships?
Austin Nelson
That's because having stuff like Gauss Rifles at all in 3044 is 3039 retcon bullshit. Things fit together a lot better if you ignore it. Fedrats were barely making prototypes in 3044 at Fort Bourgogne, much less anything being on the market or in the field.
Jayden Hall
Most don't, but if the founders are wealthy enough I can see Company sized merc units having jumpships. For instance theere are few examples of planetary goverments raising a unit to protect their planetary interests and then hire that unit to mercenary work afterwards.
Logan Rivera
No. Even real military units as a rule of thumb have about one for every three.
Mercs are lucky if they have their own dropship, much less jumpship. Ships are generally worth more than what they carry. To have an overlord, you need more cash than to fill it up with cutting edge assault mechs.
Besides, collar fees are only 26k Cbills per jump. It's not so bad to hitch a ride as long as you can find one going your way.
Logan Nguyen
>To have an overlord, you need more cash than to fill it up with cutting edge assault mechs.
This, of course, is why the approved method of gaining a dropship is prying one out of the cold, dead hands of whoever rode it to the town your merc unit guards.
Speaking of merc dropships, refresh my memory: how did the GDL end up with Phobos and Deimos? The jumpship was an independent merchant carrier who sort of stayed on after Gray helped him, but did the droppers come with it?
Joseph Butler
If I remember correctly they allready had a dropship that broke down at the landing, and they hijacked one later.
John Perez
What if all autocannons had the same range as the AC/2?
Bentley Martin
AC/2s would be even more worthless. And less swapping AC/20s for GRs.
Daniel Sullivan
What if Autocannons didn't weigh 3x as much as they should have?
