Announcing your moves and saying "pass the turn" when playing Magic/other card games
YES/NO
>not announcing your moves
This is going to make games a nightmare against decks that are able to interrupt any of your actions. You're just asking for yourself to reveal your whole hand, combo, or strategy just to have the guy go "wait, I counter that thing you just did three moves ago but rushed through without saying anything or asking for permission"
Using altered art cards or custom proxies/tokens with unrelated art
YES/NO
I'm going to allow it
You're right it's a little one sided, Lets assume you give adequate time for opponents to react when playing without announcing and describe card effects when you do.
Im personally split, I really enjoy games with equally experienced players where the pacing is fast, but I also don't mind narrating things to newer players (mainly for egotistical reasons)
I really like the painted or drawn ones that people do themselves.
Net-decking at Friday night magic games
YES/NO
>Painted cards
Yes
>Custom tokens
I have no issues considering they're just tokens, ive used coins and rocks before, although I frown on anime designs etc
>Custom proxies
Im going to say no here, they're always ugly and somehow feel disrespectful
Alters are great. Unrelated alters are a hard NO
Always say what you're doing.
Necessary.
Fuck no, people are still going to read the cards every fucking time anyway if they dont know and if they do you're just wasting time. I actually prefer MTGO for this reason as theres not some greasy neckbeard bending all your cards with his fingernail-less hands to pick them off the table every 2 seconds
I announce card names, what im targeting, things im activating and anything im doing that requires my opponents reaction obviously etc, but I wont read out abilities when the card comes down or announce tapping specifically, anything my opponent can obviously see me doing doesnt need comment.
Ive got a guy with anime sleeves and anime proxies who tries to negotiate when you destroy permanents with his preferred characters on it
"Foiling out" your deck
YES/NO
guilty pleasure that i indulge in when opportunities arise. Promo art is nice
for better art yes, otherwise why bother
I got a good Yes or No,
Scooping preemptively.
I personally feel its rude to scoop before a player gets the combo going
One for 40k:
Always letting your opponents know which unit is in which transport, either verbally or with a model on top.
Netdeckers get out!!!!!!!
RRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
not at a friday night game its jank only
