Last thread:

Does anybody remember how to enable mercs in ARMY?

There's a button for that in the options menu.

Lanlang TAG for YJ when

I want to get into cool fights with Jotums.

Yup, it's ~1.5mm smaller (and tinier overall because it's directly rescaled). Pic related.

And I mean most guns, it's getting too much (or rather too little) for me, I'd like to be able to see what my units have, thank you. And since I already have an old HMG Daofei being converted to a spitfire, I don't see much use for the new one.

well the hsien is from northern china stock, and the dao fei smells of vietnam or korea. Smaller man, smaller gun.

Does the merc thing mean, that ariadna can run stuff like Druz links ?

I know le Teuton=Shit meme, but what's up with Montesas and Sepulchrists that they don't see much use?

He's not a small man.

And no, no merc links. You'd have to have them specified as such.

You could say...
He's a big guy...

I'd rather not see what my units have if what they have is a pile of dogshit desu.

Some of the old designs are alright if you're fine with how oversized they are, Yu Jing actually got pretty good stuff for the most part. But those old HMGs man, they're not a pretty sight.

They see use, just not so much in MO. Their skills mean they can't link with Magisters, so the big link team ends up having nothing to do with the main knights most times. Order Sergeants are your only other option and they're alright, but nothing special. Far better to get Regulars/Bagh Mari in ASA (for Monties) or the superior support options in vanilla (for Seps).

They are by no means bad, just kind of niche. People generally prefer to go for the point and click beatsticks like Aquila or Swiss.

Are Mobil Brigada worth taking as a link? Or should I stick to Agulacil/Wildcats?

They are a standard HI link with all the good and bad that entails, they just also have Courage and a Hacker which is pretty good. With the new changes HI probably got a bit of an additional push so if you don't mind being low on models go for it.

They're alright. Biggest and baddest hammer you have, but you have to build the list around them. They benefit a lot from being in CJC since it has so many cheap and order efficient specialists.

In the grim brightness of hexagonal future, there are only personalized gun standards.

So the Gecko links are biggest Anvil you have?

They probably 3dprint them in PanO so everyone can have his own personalized one

Only if you can pay the customisation fee.

They 3d print the moulds. Very different price tag.

I wonder if they use red-black scheme on the new Avatar, or make a new one.

If the rumour of Fatality L1 is true, then its time to slap some Landmates into my Nomads then.

Can someone give a quick rundown for Nomad's TAGs?

I don't think giving all TAGs Fatality L1 was the right step into fixing them.

Nah, man. Riot Grrrls exist.

We'd probably see it painted red-black.

Geckos are basically super heavy infantry who like hanging out in the midfield. Barely even a TAG really, more like Taskmasters than anything else. Somewhat defensive in nature, since the mk12 can put out some nasty suppressive fire. Pilot is also a really nasty doorkicker with a burst 5 assault pistol.

Iggy is the cheap and disposable one. Only a normal HMG, but the 4 wounds, repeater and nature of his escape device mean he doesn't need as much support to function and can aid your other bullshit.

Szally is mostly conventional. Big firepower on a big platform. Biggest beatstick in the faction.

Lizzy is worse Szalamandra. Unless you really want the HGL (which is an okay enough but very niche weapon) or want a TAG specifically in Bakunin just take the other one.

Riot Grrls exist in Bakunin. Doesn't really help the Corregidor player.

>I don't think giving all TAGs Fatality L1 was the right step into fixing them.

Personally i think its better if they limit it into the S6 TAGs like Geckos, they need it.

But i still think its fine, because having a more powerfull weapons is kinda fluffy for this oversized power armor, but yeah it doesn't change much of their worth (except for those S6 TAGs)

Onyx Contact or Morat Aggression?

Which is cooler anons? What are their signature units?

Sell me on one

>rumour
It's right in the ITS document.

>Nah, man. Riot Grrrls exist.
Yeah, and he also shouldn't take a Hsien because Aquila Guard exists.

For Sepulchre the answer is easy: he has only one good profile, he can't link (assuming you're talking MO) and he's between Joan and De Fernsen cost-wise, either of which offering much more to an MO (or even general PanO) than Sepulchre. He's better in vanilla, but he still has to compete with Swiss and Holo2 simply isn't as powerful as TO Camo (though IMO it offers much more).
Hassassin Ayyar kinda shows what Sepulchre should be.

As for Montesa, they rarely see play outside ASA, where they fit well into the sectorial, with Regulars, Bagh-Mari and Akalis working well with them. In MO their biggest competition are Santiago, who offer more armour, Nanopulsers instead of Chain Colts and a Paramedic profile while maintaining similar cost thanks to Frenzy, while also having Core. Also Order Sergeants are not nearly as good as Regulars and access to Fusiliers is limited.

Morats are more straightforward while Onyx is jack of all trades.

Morat is all about pure brute force with no dirty tricks. Durable and shooty, it's about as subtle as as a brick to the face.

OCF are more about really strong glass cannon units. Umbra are really scary and it has all the plasma weapons. It also has one of the biggest availability of tags of any sectorial but it is not very advisable to overdo on them.

>In MO their biggest competition are Santiago
In MO their biggest competition is Magisters and the Hospitallers/Santiagos they link with. Montesas are not that valuable in supporting Magister links so they don't see much play. In a direct comparison with Santiagos that mechanized deployment is a big deal.
Montesas aren't popular outside of Acontecimento in the fluff either, so it's at least fitting.

Sepulchres could really do with some other good profiles though, or at least support gear. They're the most elite knights around in an army that loves to pamper its elite units with only the best tech, they shouldn't even have to look at a normal combi rifle.

>Yeah, and he also shouldn't take a Hsien because Rui Shi exists.
FTFY.

Kinda, but my point was that Riot Grrls link is not in the same army as Brigada link.

I mean it's obvious someone just scaled this to 0.95 in zbrush and changed the bullets. Same as how any new pano hi can be designed and sent to rapid prototyping within the space of fifteen minutes.

3d printing isn't a way to save money. It's a way to waste money. And time.
It doesn't even make sense on a spaceship. For the same amount of space, mass, energy and money, you can outfit enough workshops to produce any part you need. The only reason they have a printer on the ISS is to prove, with hard data, that it makes no sense whatsoever.

t. Mould-merchant

Eh, Hsien are somewhat different in role. They're a generally great shooter made better by MSV rather than a frail and mediocre platform that relies on it. I won't deny that Rui Shi are fantastic alpha strike tools to put into nearly any list with smoke, but they don't tend to last against a competent foe.

guys I have been playing kuang chis as if they had smoke grenades. how am I suppose to apologise now to not look like an ass. As defense, as weak as it may be, my original faction haqislam, and I though them just a bit different version of ghazi. But am not sure it is going to work. I haven't won any tournament prizes, so there is no bad blood, I may have skewed the noob tournament a bit, but that is all. How do people explain stuff like that to others?

Move.

Hide in the mountains. Leave a note that explain your misdeeds in detail.

Commit sudoku. It's the only way to regain your honour.

Disappear for a month
Shave/grow some facial hair
Return claiming to be your brother and that you had given yourself your infinity stuff before leaving on a mission trip/work assignment/deployment

Use your Kuang Shi to proxy Shaolin Monks from now on. Only shoot the Celestial Guard's Smoke Grenade Launcher when linked. Play things right from now on and hope no one notices, and if they do you own up to your mistakes,
apologize like a human being, and be clear how you learned the correct equipment for the Kuang Shi.

>playing vanilla YJ when IS exists

>not using glorious Daofei, Hac Tao, Tiger Soldiers and Guilang
Disgusting.

>implying you need other units than Kuang Shi, Rui Shi and Sophotects

>implying it's not always time for a Daofei/Hac Tao murder combo

It is never time for small koreans. Maybe if they are female and smell nice, but not males, even if you yourself happen to be of the gay.

I'll try this trick, people don't keep track of old lists, or I hope they don't, I will claim I always used them as monks.

Just remember Monks are irregular.

Daofei aren't even a Korean unit m8. Only chinks who don't get absorbed into the normal army are the Japs, because some faggot terrorists decided to fuck over their own countrymen.

Might change in the future. I don't believe they get their own sectorial, but might get some ethnic units, like Akalis Sikh Commandos.

Friendly reminder that at some point in your life you have used a seat in which a filthy Jap or German had sat and you are therefore forever unclean. :^)

Does anyone know if the Raiden Seibutai released in 2014 are in the old or new scale?

Oh God, don't remind me.
What's with people bringing their real life prejudices into the game? A friend of mine is a vocal atheist and anti-islamist and has no problem playing Haqqislam, because he likes their playstyle and Kasym Beg.

Well, old and new scale is a bit misleading. Hand sculpted and CAD is more accurate.

Alright, do you know if they are sculpted by hand or CAD?

No :(
But based how the parts are divided, I'm pretty sure it's CAD, even if it doesn't seem to achieve basketball player status among newer releases.

I challenge you all to field a TAG in your next tournament.

Imma do one of the lists straight out of the icestorm or red veil packets.

Absolute madman.

CAD. Or rather zbrush and then exported into a catia-friendly format to make the molds.
You simply can't get dynamic postures and natural-looking hands and feet without cad. An older, handcrafted design may have the same level of detail, but the digitally designed one will always look more natural.

I think that was largely down to individual sculptor. Some did excellent hand sculpts, some... less so.

Just say it as long as you never play did it in a tournament all will be fine

There's also the fact there are like three different scales.

Early hand sculpted were actually quite similar to the current CAD designs in scale with some pretty big models in the BS Orc and one of Fusileers.

Sometime are human sphere n2, the scale started shrinking. The prowler spitfire and combi Wildcats are emblematic of this shrink.

CAD era started with the Clipsos sniper. Big spikes are the Domaru, Achilles 2, and crane spitfire.

Agree, but it's much harder to visualize natural muscle movement and body language using nothing but drawings and imagination. And that's before we get into things like inverse kinematics or motion capture.
Take older GW centerpieces as examples. The level of detail is always good, but the model is always off because of that one thing you can't put your finger on.

>price tag

Does it just go through Pan O Costco and mark things for resale?

You are playing Yu Jing

Just kowtow while repeating "I've learned now" over and over

Detonate your Kuang Shi, then tell your group that you executed them for wielding illegal weaponry

With all the recent buffs the Geckos will be seeing a lot more action than expected.

Also, how to get around scale creep if you find old minis at bargain prices.

Scale creep, more like proportion creep.

That's always been a standard for me with all the more crouching figures. Was even more essential before silhouettes were a thing.

I think both are within the natural variance.

The Fusiliers stands in a straight, but relaxed position, which makes him good for such comparisons. If the Morlock stood straight, she'd be like two heads shorter than him at most. But her pose is causing the problem. Flat on the base she barely edges out above S1 silhouette.

Any other good ideas to raise old minis?

I sometimes (well, mainly for ALEPH) cut "stairs" out of plastic card. Also useful when a figure has a tactical rock/corpse I don't think fit the base I thought.

There isn't really a solution if the height and skeletal structure are totally off. It's not like sticking more and more stuff to an ork up to the point where it's a flash git.

What if you take an ORC and stick more stuff to it 'till it's a Cutter?

Tell me your most embarrassing failures, even if it didn't affect the game at large.

>take Achilles
>First turn, try to shoot neurokinetic, get wounded instead
>no probs, I just flank the enemy specialist then
>get flash pulsed
>damn, time to hide
>second turn, fail to achieve anything again, get wounded again
>third turn, time to earn your keep
>jump
>survive the fall get wounded in ARO

Get this, I once tried to play Infinity but literally nobody around here plays it and all my friends are irrationally loyal to GW.

I like dis humie.

>Riot Grrrls exist.
My degenerate.

Is this for ITS only? Will it be updated into the Army builder?

Probably. ITS is the standard way of playing.

And Army haven't been updated yet. Alive is still there. Even Wotan updates were added straight to the Army. It might be it's a slightly more complicated to add the "+1 swc to add mercs" option.

That sucks, where you located?

Probably a South Pacific island with double digit inhabitants.

I wonder of the stuff from Outrage is going to be added to Army. Emily and Uhahu are still about, but is the Druze Bayram sectorial and its associated profiles unbalanced for normal play?

I don't think all Outrage characters will be added anymore than Fat Yan Yan. Druze and maybe a selected few perhaps.

>"Oh, that's a cool model!"
>"I wonder how I could proxy it in 40k?"

Germanistan, but in a corner where nobody plays it, I checked

You don't understand how cucked to GW they are.

Is the LGS culprit or what?

>she had to to bring to rocks to climb on to reach the fusilier
>he remains unimpressed

Okay.

Not really a challenge for CA desu.

Unless I use MAF, then it's the biggest and most horrible challenge of all time.

So what are your thoughts on the new Data Tracker rules?

Is your HVT considered a civilian with all the rules that entails? Can you synch with them and drag them into your deployment zone?

>5'11"

So is the blackjack actually bad or is it just vaguely suboptimal? A big armored T2 sniper platform seems pretty neat, for how cheap it is.

When starting out with a new army, can I go from 100 to 200 to 300 points or is this more of a 150 to 300 step process?

You can technically play whatever the hell you can convince your opponent to play. 100 is really too low, though.

It's a solid direct ARO platform that can perform at all ranges and is appropriately cheap. I'm not entirely surprised people are saying its bad since the stat decreases look scary when you don't know how inconsequential they are (aside from BTS, which is much bigger jump) and Ariadna has never had a unit of this style before, but it's a pretty decent unit.

150 or 200 work better to start. 100 is extremely limiting and not a good way to learn the game.

Speaking of scale, how does the Riot Grrl Spitfire look with the new Grrls?

Park the T2 sniper profile prone on a rooftop with a good field of fire and you'll make life difficult for your opponent. Thing can put the hurt on people.
