board wipes are against the spirit of edh. if you use board wipes, you are the cancer killing this format.

>If I rebound this with Taigam, Ojutai Master what happens?
you gain 7 life and put it into your library
Julian Brown
All is Dust is a fun card as is O-Stone
Dylan Bennett
Think that'd work if you could somehow cast it from rebound BEFORE casting it from your hand, user. :^)
Alexander Reed
>702.87a Rebound appears on some instants and sorceries. It represents a static ability that functions while the spell is on the stack and may create a delayed triggered ability. “Rebound” means “If this spell was cast from your hand, instead of putting it into your graveyard as it resolves, exile it and, at the beginning of your next upkeep, you may cast this card from exile without paying its mana cost.”
It puts itself into your library before you'd be able to Rebound it.

when you cast it the first time, the card says that upon resolve you put it in your library 7th from the top, rebound doesn't happen
Liam James
Doesn't have to be. They're still more iconic.
Nicholas Gutierrez
WotC considers each Color to have two Iconics. Their Big Icons and Small Icons.
>White Humans Angels
>Blue Merfolk Sphinxes
>Black Zombies Demons
>Red Goblins Dragons
>Green Elves -Issues-
Green's Iconic started out as Wurms, but the playerbase as a whole is not half so enthusiastic about Wurms as they are about Angels, Demons, or Dragons. They've been pushed out by Hydras over time. Thanks to there being a lot of infighting between Hydras and Wurms, with some sets using one or the other as the big iconic creature, both of them suffer.
Carter Clark
Yes, that's already been pointed out.
Levi Reed
why not both? elves in the lower curve and wurms in the upper one. it's not like you can only print wurms for green.
William Morales
FUCK hydras!
Jack Morales
>best wurm isnt even green
Brayden Phillips
>why not both?
Because Wurms got fired. Hydras test better in the market research.
Austin Brown
Name me the best horror creatures/commanders! Currently running Gitrog, but want to delve into a horror tribal deck.
Isaiah Hughes
this.
on a side note hydras are more interesting than wurms. wurms are mostly known to be vanilla big creatures. good for new players, but hydras got their own complex X mana cost and +1+1counters mechanic which will just play better in a set aimed at experienced players. thinking about it i can't imagine an experienced player ever being excited about a wurm(aside for the call). i'd rather meme about first picking grizzly bear than going to a draft to pick some vanilla wurms.
Brandon Morris
Use tapped out, other than that it looks pretty standard at first glance
Liam Mitchell
Errata'd to be a Horror. You'll have a hard time using it though, since having "I'm very specifically going to kill your commanders" as an ability spooks people into shooting her on sight.
Adam Watson
>Name me the best horror creatures/commanders!
James Hall
The other thing is that it's flavorfully a whole lot easier to print a Hydra with Reach than a Wurm with it, so it can interact with the other Big Icons.
Grayson Baker
how do i build kess without doing storm?
David Martin
Storm is the logical endgame of spellslingers.
Daniel Edwards
Choose a medium-big spell and copy it many times.
Austin Adams
how do I build him then? I don't want to go the tokens route nor do I want to do the time warp route because that would be boring...
Lucas Martinez
Straightforward card advantage spells and white removal become very appealing when they happen twice.
Dominic Kelly
>3/4 >4 mana cmc >no flying >has to attack
Lincoln Harris
Because you need to attack with him, you need much evasion like rogues passage
Juan Hughes
Removal and bounce help him survive the attack and with rebound they are extra saucy.
Tyler Bell
Rules question.
OK, so I have mairsil out, with quicksilver elemental, pila pala, and gilded lotus caged.
So I tap the lotus ability for UUU, use two of them to untap mairsil and make another U (total of UU). Then I use quicksilver to copy myself and gain those abilities. This achieves infinite mana even with the "once per turn" ruling gained from the quicksilver version of the abilities.
Here is my question. How does it actually work? Does it gain one instance at a time or does it read like
and so on? This is pretty much semantics but could save mana in many non infinite situations.
Daniel Jones
Pretty sure it's the exponential ability growth route.
William Brown
This Just go full extra turns and shit and be that asshole. The 10~ish good extra turn spells, a shit ton of tutors, some removal and countermagic, and some utility spells for fun.
Jaxon Parker
Buyback tribal, since you only have to buyback your spells every other time with her.
Also be aware that flicker effects give her another use of her ability, so deadeye and the like work well with her.
Extra turn spells are easily abusable as well.
Jayden Johnson
well ive never built a storm deck, if i were going to go that way how do i build it for relatively cheap?
how do i win after im done pissing everyone off with my extra turns?
>Buyback tribal explain please, i dont know how that interaction works cause im an idiot
Jaxson Campbell
Can we apocalypse and the teferis protection to fuck everyone over?

>How do YOU wipe the board, Veeky Forums? love resolving this and just watching everyone scoop
David Mitchell
reanimator
Brayden Williams
>How do YOU wipe the board, Veeky Forums?
It's not a true wipe, but I really like Breath of Darigaaz. It'll leave my flyers (typically Dragons) alone, wipe out almost anything else, and since my small ground utility creatures typically die too, I'm usually not retaliated against.
Aaron Collins
Carry him since my very first EDH deck, never dissapointed me
Christian Morales
>Cast buyback spell without paying the buyback. It goes to the gy >Cast buyback spell from gy, paying the buyback. It will end in your hand.
Gabriel Brooks
how does it end in your hand? do i resolve kees before the spell resolves?
Easton Torres
Yes.
Dominic Russell
Read Kess carefully. >If a card cast this way would be put into your graveyard this turn, exile it instead. Which means if it wouldn't be put in your graveyard (like if you buyback it) then you don't exile it.
Camden Clark
>How do YOU wipe the board, Veeky Forums? having an indestructible general is bae
Carson Garcia
Kess says to exile it instead of putting it into the graveyard. Buyback says to put it into your hand instead of putting it into the graveyard. When the time comes and it attempts to go to the graveyard, you get to choose how to apply the replacement effects.
Aaron Wood
I feel horrible for newer people to magic and to my LGS when they play and start winning. The people at my LGS get so pissy when they're being killed even if they're clearly the threat on the board or could be in the next turn. It took me a while to learn to not give a shit if some sperg starts crying that I smacked him and I actually kept myself from hitting people too hard because of that shit. Do you guys deal with that at your LGS?
Nathan Evans
Erebos?
Hudson Martin
>paying 4 when you can play 3
Wyatt Morgan
>How do YOU wipe the board, Veeky Forums?
Josiah Jenkins
Probably Zurgo, master of boardwipes.
Daniel Evans
Not exactly, Kess says it gets exiled if it would go back into the graveyard. With buyback that doesn't happen.
Ian Evans
>Tainted Remedy + Arbiter of Knollridge >Kill 3 players in one go because I had so much life
Bentley Gutierrez
That's pretty cool, but doesn't win you the game with Cabal Coffers and Repercussion.
Eli Morris
>implying pest isnt my wincon
Josiah Ramirez
This card saved me too many time to count while playing against a Mayael deck of a friend of mine
>702.26a Buyback appears on some instants and sorceries. It represents two static abilities that function while the spell is on the stack. “Buyback [cost]” means “You may pay an additional [cost] as you cast this spell” and “If the buyback cost was paid, put this spell into its owner’s hand instead of into that player’s graveyard as it resolves.” Paying a spell’s buyback cost follows the rules for paying additional costs in rules 601.2b and 601.2f–h.
Both are replacement effects attempting to replace the event of putting the card into its owner's graveyard. The owner of the affected object gets to choose which one is applied.
The important thing to note here is that you do get a choice. So, if there is some peculiar situation like someone flashed in a Black Vise or something where you suddenly don't want the card in your hand even though you paid for the buyback, you can still choose to let it be exiled.
Jeremiah Scott

I want to finish my mono green deck by making omnath the commander. How do I win with him, what are some good cards, how do I stop omnath getting killed, especially by boardwipes (everyone I play against runs like 40 boardwipes)

>How do YOU wipe the board, Veeky Forums? The DISK goes in every deck. EVERY DECK every deck worth playing anyway lmao
Robert Hughes
I still like it.
Jack King
help me make this better.....but on a budget? I can't really afford to pick up all of the good black tutors. I just wanna play big spells with Vial Smasher. Yes, I know Crucible of Worlds is a thing and I will be getting that at some point.
I wonder if Opt will go the Serum Visions route where a common will become overpriced af because Modern
Justin Rivera
in 5 years maybe
Xavier Lewis
I mean, Fatal Push is an uncommon of a set in print and it's 8 dollars. I never doubt this game's fucked up market.
David Barnes
Opt has an older printing.
Tyler Morris
this and not every deck NEEDS filtering every deck needs interaction of some sort not to mention black is the new blue in terms of common cards to see in standard
Jonathan Reyes
Fatal Push is a shortprint uncommon. Due to the way the print sheets are arranged, some cards are printed in Rare quantities, but show up in uncommon slots. Push seems to be one such card, based on how many of them people typically get from opening a box.
Eli Wilson
nice urban legend
Ethan Collins
I noticed this also with Censor and Abrade. Me and my friends crack packs like mad men because we hate money and we all agree that these cards are more uncommon than your usual uncommon.
Jordan Gray
What do you think of filter lands? Will they be reprinted?
